Initiate Correlation on synchronous partner link response message

Hi,
I've been trying for a while to achieve correlation based on the response of a synchronous response in BPEL.
For example:
I have a process and at some point I invoke an external service. This service returns to BPEL process an id which must be used as a correlation id.
I have tried setting the pattern to "response" (or "in" in other JDev versions). When BPEL process runs and reaches the invoke point it will completely disregard the pattern that I have set and will try to initiate the correlation set's property using the request message and not the response.
I have used correlation with initialization in request messages with success.
However it seems to me that I'm missing something in this case. Documentation is quite clear that this should function without additional configuration.
Can someone help out in this?

Sorry if I was not clear. My problem is with correlation based on client generated correlation id.
I have a process.
At some point I invoke an external systemB (invocationA).
System B will return an id (b_Id) synchrnously in the response of invocationA.
InvocationA closes but triggers processing in system B.
When processing is over at some time in the future, systemB needs to call back and give me the response.
To correlate this response, b_Id must be used.
So I have created a correlationSet in invocationA (initiate="yes", pattern="response") and a property (testprop). In testprop I have created two aliases. One on invocationA response and one on the message received in the receive activity. Receive activity (initiate="no")
When I run my example a correlation violation is thrown saying that bpel cannot find the property alias given in invocationA input message.
Which means that even if i have set the pattern to "response" the engine still looks in the request message of invocationA.
Of course I have tried all other patterns (to make sure that it is not my misunderstanding) on invocationA.
When I set pattern to request and change the alias to read the request message of invocationA everything works as expected.
Thanks in advance!

  • Creating dynamic endpoint for synchronous partner link. SOA 11g

I am on page 522 of the Developer's Guide and have hit a dead end.
    1) There is no such thing as a "Transformation" activity.
    2) If I assume they meant "Transform" I am still stuck because you can't use a wsdl as input
    3) What is a "copy rule?" I thought that meant Assign, but the Assign dialog looks NOTHING like their screen shot.
I get the CONCEPT 100% but the actual implementation is a complete mystery because this book is fatally flawed.

It's not a link, it is a literal book.
    Oracle SOA Suite 11g R1 Developer's Guide
Of more importance to me than sorting out the book is sorting out the issue. I have two partner links I want to be able to set runtime endpoints for. I also want this to be done based on which deployment server the composites are on, but I can cross that bridge later.
One of the partner links is an HTTP Adapter and the other a WS Adapter.
I imported the WS-address schema and created en endpoint reference variable but then I get stuck. How to I use this to change the endpoint of the partner link? The developer's guide says "use a Transformation" which I am guessing means and Oracle Transform (thing that makes xlst style sheets) but Transform only accepts variables as input and output and the guide screenshot is showing wsdls being used.
Also -- looking at "The BPEL Cookbook" (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/articles/carey-090553.html) I get imediately lost because only partial examples are shown and repeated references are made to this "DynamicPartnerLink Sample" which I can find umpteen million references to but no source for.
OK.. found the source for the referenced wsdl .. and it has nothing I didn't already have.
I am using jDeveloper... I think the cookbook is referring to some other editor. I needs instructions I can follow in jDeveloper because my employer is requiring we use that.

    Hi experts,

Frankly -- this documentation is really irritating. It makes a lot of assumptions and is far to vague in places. The very first thing it says is "Create a WSDL file that contains multiple services that use the same portType." but it doesn't specify which wsdl (I have several in my project) and seems to be drawn from some example code with no explanation.

  • Problem accessing value of response message of synchronous call in BPM

    Hello,
I've a problem with a synchronous sending step (in BPM) and a following container operation.
In the message monitoring I can see the right response of the sending step. But the value of the container is empty.
If I navigate from the container of the sending step to the message, I can also see the right message.
But I can't access any elements in the message, they will be ignored.
    Here is the response message:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>

  • JDBC- RFC- JDBC Synchronous scenario (Can't see the response message)

    Hello Experts,
I tried this step in creating a synchronous scenario by using steps found in this site -> [http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/File-RFC-File%28Without%20BPM%29|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/File-RFC-File%28Without%20BPM%29] I just changes File to JDBC. But problem is I see the sent XML message in SXMB_MONI but to response message. I also can't see the Sender interface name for the response message when I tried to use F4 in the Interface Name portion.
Do someone encountered this before? Please help

    Hello,
I hope someone could guide me on how to set this up cause I only see the sent message but there's no response message in SXMB_MONI. Note that interface was successful, I just want to see what was sent by the response.

  • Synchronous FTP response message

    Hi,
I am new to XI, so would welcome some advice.
I have implemented an interface from ECC5 via abap proxy to XI FTP adapter to send files to a third party.
I am using a synchronous interface to check the ftp has been successful.
Because of it being synchronous, I must give a response message type.  But as this response is empty, the mapping back is failing.
So, can I have a synchronous interface without a response, or can I fill the response from the FTP action, and if so, how ?
    Thanks
    Paul

I am using a synchronous interface to check the ftp has been successful.
    1) FTP receiver cannot be used in a SYNC mode.
    2) If your intention is only to check if the connection was established successfully between PI and FTP and the file was transferred successfully then you can see that from status in Runtime Workbench --> Adapter Engine --> Channel MOnitoring.
You dont need to do this manually (even though you can), you can set alerts which can raise an error message in case if anything goes wrong....this is a standard practice followed....no need to make the process SYNC.
If your requirement is to check if the file has been processed successfully by the FTP server then you need to implement a process similar to the one explained by Holger.

  • Synchronous Nonrowset response message to 3rd Party

I've created a synchronous non rowset based message. I believe that my set up is correct and my request/response schema are all working as expected. I have PeopleCode in an Application Package that retrieves the data that I want. When I run this via sendmaster, I am able to get the data that I expect and it's in an XML format but I'm kinda stuck. I need to know how I get this data into the format of the Response schema withoug having to manually "build" it in an XML layout? Shouldnt I be able to "pull in" the response schema and then populate that schema according to the elements associated with it? I may be totally off on this, but that's the way I think it should work. Can someone clarify and if you have an example of a response message that is uses an existing schema, that would definately help.
    thanks
    Rich

Exactly... The XML response via sendmaster is because I am manually formatting it in the Application Package peoplecode. I want to return it in the form of the response xml schema that is tied to the repsonse message.

To capture this error message as Response message what message types need to be defined/configured?
    Thanks,
    Kumar

    Dirk -
I am currently using Integration Process.
I am capturing system messages through an Exception error handler in the block step of Integration Processes.
When i execute the scenario, i see an error in the workflow in the Block Step. It shows an Error which says "No Exception Defined for System Errors", though i have a Exception Branch in the Block step.
Any clues why i am not able to capture the Exception errors and send it through email.
Its failing at the Block step.
    More details on the scenario:
    1. Start
    2. Receive Step - Asynch - IDOC
    3. Block Step - with Exception name as "TimeOut"
3.1 Exception Branch with exception handler as "Timeout"
3.1.1 - Transform Step - to transform a Exception message(with just one field) to "Error" message (with 5 fields)
3.1.2 - Send Step - send the "Error" message through email
3.2 Deadline branch set to 1 minute
    3.3 Switch step
3.3.1 Transformation step - to transform the IDOC to XML
3.3.2 Send step - Synch - request xml and response xml defined in this step
    4. Switch Step
4.1 - Transform step - transforms the idoc and xml response to the actual error
4.2 - Send Step - sends the actual error to the email message using MAIL adapter.
    Any tips would be grateful.
    Thanks,
    Tirumal

  • Help on partner link

Tutorial is simple but the reality...
A little help: i have a web service written in C# and its wsdl. Now i have to create the partner link to call this service. I need to know where i have to put the folder (and the wsdl)... I only know I have to select the wsdl in Partner Link (but i can't see it!). I have my folder in /integration/jdev/jdev/mywork/<name workspace>/<nome project + file jws>/file bpel+wsdl

  • SOAP sender Adapter - response message missing in adapter engine level

    Hi,
We have a synchronous scenario SOAP<-> P I <--->Proxy .Request comes from  web service get the response from ECC.
Issue reported that response message not reached the web service .
I am able to see the request & response messages in SXMB_MONI. To check the status in message monitoring through RWB synch message are not existing more than a day.
Is there any possibility of failure of messages at adapter engine level in this case? If so How can I get error log?
what are the settings required to make the synchronous messages available in RWB?
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Kartikeya

what are the settings required to make the synchronous messages available in RWB?
Set messaging.syncMessageRemover.removeBody = false in NWA / Visual Admin. Have a look at the below link for details -

  • Problem Creating Partner Link for Adapter Integrating with Tuxedo using JCA

    Hi All,
This is the first time that I am working on integration tools. I will explain in brief the problem.
There will be a legacy system (Tuxedo) running which connect to legacy database for requests. I am able to connect to that legacy system using Attunity Studio for getting the response back. Which is working fine.
Now I want that to integrate with BPEL PM 10.1.2 using JCA. For this I followed this URL (http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/oc4j/904/how_to/oc4j-jca-tux/onjava-jca.html). What happens here is, a simple servlet invokes a Session Bean that interacts the Attunity Server using the JCA. For that I am using oc4j container of BPEL PM 10.1.2. I could able to work it fine.
For working with BPEL, I have created synchronous process, when try to create Partner link using Adapter service from WSIL browser, it is not coming in.
Am I missed any important configuration at BPEL PM end.
For doing this a followed the "tutorial 2" @ http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/adapters/dev_support.html
In exact way, above provided tutorial 2 PDF, I failed at step "Configuring a BPEL Service to invoke the above Adapter Service" on page 11.
    Your help is highly appreciated
    Thanks
    Venkata

Something to note. I tried adding the same BPEL services as partner links to a new application and new project on two other developer's workstations, and the creation of the partner links were successful.

  • "Wrong" content in response message from Sync HTTP receiver connection

    Hello,
We're trying to set up a synchronous HTTP receiver connection in a BPM to send a PO to a business partner. This partner will then respond with a response message or an error message.
    Request : messagetype_request
    Response : messagetype_response
    Fault message: messagetype_fault
Our problem is that a sync HTTP connection apparently does not support the fault messages and therefore the errormessage, based on the messagetype "messagetype_fault" is returned into the responsemessage with messagetype "messagetype_response". This means that we can not perform any manipulation on this message due to the wrong messagetype compared to the content.
Using a switch in the BPM that checks on the existence of an X-path expression we have already splitted branches for the errorhandling and succesfull response handling.
Does anyone have an idea how to change the errormessage that is stuck in the messagetype_repsonse  format ?
    Thanks in advance !

    Hi Stefan,
Thanks for the answer, but this leaves me with the main question how I can change a certain message within a BPM from one messagetype to another. Normally a simple message mapping would do the job but the problem in this case is that the source message does not have the message structure that would be expected by the BPM due to the error message being received in the message that was reserved for the correct response.

  • Service Registry's Dynamic Lookup of BPEL Partner Link not working

    Hi,
    Software : SOA 10.1.3.1
    OS : Windows XP, 2000
I have deployed webservice application (GetMaxOfTwo) which will give me max of 2 values. Registered the WS in OWSM with user authentication. Registered newly generated WSDL in OSR (Oracle Service Registry). A simple BPEL Process will call service as PartnerLink, which is configured as "Enabling Dynamic Lookup of BPEL Partner Link Endpoints". As mentioned in the document made entry in bpel.xml as registryServiceKey property containing the serviceKey value to the partnerLinkBinding section.
The entire scenario is working fine and changed the servicekey value to wrong value in bpel.xml and redeployed, as expected it was giving me error message saying invalid servicekey.
Now deployed GetMaxOfTwo in another application server and registered in OWSM. Intentionally stopped the first GetMaxOfTwo application. In the OSR Service changed the binding with new WSDL of OWSM. As BPEL process enabled with dynamic lookup it should execute without any error. But the results in this case was giving error saying the service was down. (Means it is referring to the old GetMaxOfTwo webservice.
What could be the reason?, something is missing in the configuration?

    Hi
I am having trouble making the BPEL and Systinet to work together. I have Systinet and BPEL installed separately on 2 different servers. I deployed my web services and registered them in UDDI. I created a new BPEL process and added a partner link to refer to one of the web service I have registered in UDDI. When I create the partner link, it is forcing me to give the wsdl and it also gives an error message " There are no partner link types defined in current wsdl. Do you want create that will by default create partner link type for you?". If I say "NO' then deployment fails. If I say "Yes", then it creates a new wsdl file on the local server etc and gives "<Faulthttp://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/>
    <faultcode>soapenv:Server.userException</faultcode>
<faultstring>com.oracle.bpel.client.delivery.ReceiveTimeOutException: Waiting for response has timed out. The conversation id is 75164a0815ea471a:-3be8c246:117cc377894:-537b. Please check the process instance for detail.</faultstring>". Any help is appreciated.
