Input level meter not working in multitrack

Wanted to see if anyone could help with this problem. This problem has persisted in 5.5 and now 6. My input levels work fine in wave editor but not in multitrack. When I try to right click it's greyed out. Im a vo artist so my setup is pretty straight forward.
I'm going from my Shure ksm 32 mic to an Art voice channel preamp which then goes via usb to my Macbook Pro. I record in mono...my input is the codex for my mic and my output is default because im listening thru my macs output on my headphones. The small signal meter in the track works but not the big one I use to monitor my level. As I stated when I bring into waveform it works fine. What's annoying is that it worked for like 5 minutes but I can not get it to work now to save my life. I've tried switching up the inputs and outputs but nothing helps.

I use a PC not Mac so can't be sure things work the same, but try hitting the "Monitor Input" (the capital I button) in the track control area at the lest hand end of the track. On mine this switches the big main meters to monitor the input to any track(s) set this way.

Input level meter in Audition CS5.5

I can't find an input level meter in audition CS5.5. I have to go my windows 7 control panel find me device and set the levels. So, to set levels I have to have two windows open, one control panel audio adjustment window and one soundbooth window where I actually record and watch meter, then I erase and record for real.
I must be overlooking something -- every other audio program I have ever used lets you set input levels while watching the meter. I've been through the help, and Googled it and I can't figure it out. In Audition, how do I set input levels from within Audition CS5.5 (not in windows 7 control panel)?

Short answer, no!
Audition merely records EXACTLY what the input device is sending to it. In normal useage the "level" of the signal to be recorded would be set externally, e.g. by use of an audio mixer or a "gain" control on the input device. I assume you are recording by using a line or mic plugged straight to your computer? In which case, the Windows Audio Control Panel is the only way to set levels.

Item level security not working when placed in a portlet page

I have three page links linking to separate pages and have two of them with item level security turned on for specific groups with view privilges. I have the access for those groups with view privilges in the page level as well. I have published that as portlet and placed the portlet in another page which has view priviliges for the groups specified in item level as well.
But I notice that when i place the portlet in a page, the item level security is not working.
Item Level Security Not Working for Items Placed on a page and published as portlet and placed in another page. Is there some work around for this.

Would you please clarify for me? Is the problem that unauthorized people can see the portlet, or that unauthorized people can see the links?

Query level filter not working in Webi report

Hi All,
I am using BOXI R3.1 (SP3), m facing one problem when refreshing Webi report on daily basis. I am using three query level filter as a prompt, but i checked one filter is not working then i need to reapply this filter and rest 2 filter is working fine.
Can anyone suggest me why problem is coming?

Hi,
Prompts are interactive, and come from the query panel. Filters are not interactive, and are set on the report or block. There are also input controls, which are interactive filters
1. Select the universe in the list of universes to open the Query Panel.
2. Drag the Year object to the Result Objects pane.
3. Drag the Number of Guests object to the Query Filters pane and create a report filter that restricts Number of Guests to greater than n.
4. Click Combined Query.
The Combined Query pane appears in the bottom left of the Query panel with the two queries joined by UNION.
5. Click on the second query and remove the Year and Number of Guests objects.
6. Drag the Reservation Year object to the Result Objects pane.
7. Drag the Future Guests object to the Query Filters pane and create a report filter that restricts the future guests to greater than n.
8. Click Run Query.

Input level - meter?

This might seem like a stupid question, but I need to ask it as the GB help doesn't explain it clearly. Where should one set input level for recording and where does one MONITOR that level via a meter reading (to check for clipping, etc)? This seems like such a basic need, so I'm confused to why it's not clearer.
I'm using an M-Audio FW410 which has it's own software mixer, but from their manual it seems the input level should be set from within GB.
I've experimented with the Recording Level slider in GB and even when it's not greyed out I'm not hearing a difference in signal, even if I turn it to 0. Do I actually have to go to the Sound control panel in System Preferences for this? I should mention I'm recording a "real instrument" track and my signal is coming through loud and clear.
The only two level meters I see from within GB are for each track's volume (which is just for mixing and/or monitoring while recording, correct?) and the master volume slider/meter at the bottom.

The meter on each input should be reading at a sensible level: not over-peaking but not too low either. The main control has no effect on these levels, only on the final mix. For example, if the main control was at a normal setting, and you had a number of channels all at a high level, then they would add together and you would need to bring the final level down to prevent it over-peaking. The level should be set sensible at every stage.
You set the input in the GarageBand Preferences, so this will show what you are using. If you have your interface selected then the internal mic is not in use.

Object Level security not working on OBIEE 11g 11.1.1.7

I am experiencing problems with object level security applied on application role in 11.1.1.7 version. If i create a user and assign that user to a application role and give that application role permission to Access Answers in Manage previleges, it is not working. If i directly add a user to permission list in Manage previleges section then user is able to access the answers. I added that application role in "Access to Answers" section in Manage previleges section. Permission for Authenticated users is denied.
We recently upgraded from 11.1.1.5 to 11.1.1.7. Please can someone confirm if it a bug in 11.1.1.7 or it is because of the upgrade process.

I have just verified the below scenario as you said but didnt find any issue.
I have just created a User, Group and Applictaion Role under default authentication provider . Assigned user under group and group under newly created application role and provided access to answers for new application role under manage privilages and I am able see it.
This might not be a 11.1.1.7 bug check it from upgrade end.

Security is set up using /crystal/rls transaction. A custom auth object is used for checking the company code with a single field "BUKRS".
This custom auth object is maintained for the PA0001 table.
This object is added at the role level with the restricted access to the Company Code..

Sound input (line-in) not working after upgrade to Leopard

I have upgraded my iMac Intel Core 2 Duo (white plastic frame version) to Leopard on Friday when it released. The upgrade process went very well with one MAJOR exception: Audio input through "Line-in" connection does not work anymore. I have tried everything that comes to mind so far from rebooting, to unplugging and replugging, to checking back all system settings, etc. Nothing works. At this point, I can't use my headset anymore for making calls with Skype or using voice chat in games. I would seriously need some help as I refuse to have paid $129 only to have Apple themselves break something in their products.
For this reason, I have to currently consider Leopard a failure. Reason being, in MS Windows or Linux, there always is a way around to make things work... I can't find anything at all with this release of the OS.

The OP reported their line-in input "broke" after upgrading to Leopard, however my MBP stopped recognising input from the mic on my headset a few weeks ago when I was still running Tiger. This might possibly indicate that the change in OS X's handling of the line-in input was present in a Tiger update, but I can't remember the exact correlation between the dates of my last update and this problem. All the same, I'm pretty annoyed that a headset that worked perfectly for several months is now suddenly unusable without a USB adapter.
Prior to stumbling across this thread, I visited two Apple stores, who both tested with an output from an iPod and told me that the input was working fine, leading me to buy a brand-new headset (even though I'd tested other working headsets without success) which, naturally, produced the same results.
Seems to me that the hardware is fully capable of processing a mic input through the line-in port, as it's never had any problems with any unpowered source until recently, so Apple must surely be able to undo the change they made?

Step input, chord mode not working?

Hello Gurus!
I'm using Logic with a midi Keyboard and the Step Input Windows and I have a small but significant difference between the two:
When I use Step Input Windows with chord mode selected the playhead correctly doesn't move if I hit more note on the Step Input Windows but If i input the notes with the midi keyboard (with the chord mode on) it moves!
I tried also with the musical Typing windows and the Keyboard windows, same result. Chord mode seems to work only with Step Input Windows as note entry tool.
Is something wrong here or is only me?
To me is illogical this behavior, if chord mode is selected the playhead should not move, indipendently on what tools one use to insert the notes.
Any help is appreciated!

Apogee ensemble input section does not work with pro x

Downloaded the "maverick" ensemble software, Upgraded the ensemble firmware. The latest downloadable ensemlble manual available is for 10.6. The instructions do not look like they match pro X The input section on the ensemble does not work. The output section works. I'm sure it's just an audio setting change either in maestro or in pro x . Anybody come across this problem? Solution? Thank you.

Iphont battery meter not working/ push notifications not working/restarting over and over again.

A few weeks ago, I went on a vacation out of the country. I had my iphone 5 on airplane mode for a week. When I got back and turned it off of airplane mode, it started restarting over and over again right after being plugged into the charger. Eventually, it seems to get ahold of itself and stops turning on and off, but the phone battery meter freezes where ever it is at that point. If it has 100% battery, it says it has 100% battery until it dies. If it only has 1% battery, I'll leave it on the charger long enough to have 100%, but it will still say 1%. The battery life itself is not any different. According to the meter, my phone will stay on all day with 1%. Also, after being dead, my phone would turn on immediately after being plugged in (rather than waiting a few minutes to get enough charge as usual). I think this is because since my phone does not know how much battery it has, it thinks it has enough to turn on right away.
I visited the apple store, and they told me to restore it as a new phone. When I did this, it did not work at first. But after a day, my phone battery life meter started working normally again, and it stopped doing the turn on/turn off continuously thing. BUT imessage no longer worked. It said "waiting for activation" for two weeks. Also, push notifications no longer worked. Every time I openned an app, it would notify my that i could not have push notifications and to connect to itunes. Certain apps wouldnt work at all (snap chat, lulu). They would just give the alert about push notifications over and over again.
I wanted imessage back, so I restored my phone as new once again. This time, imessage, push notification, snapchat, ect. started working again. But, it has gone back to not knowing how much battery life it has and restarting over and over again after being turned on from a dead state. WHAT DO I DO?! I don't want to have either of these problems. It's kind of like my phone has a virus.
note: the first time i turned it on after coming back from vacation, it said "no sim card" for a few minutes.

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In Library Manager it's the FIle -> Rebuild command)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Programmatically clearing an input item does not work

I want to clear one input item (RichInputListOfValues) contained in a PanelForm programmatically, after the user presses on the "Clear" button:

[B560] Battery meter, wifi strength meter not working in notification area

This all started when I had my laptop on my lap, and the battery slipped out of place (one of the clips must have slid to unlock).
Battery meter, when hovered over, shows that laptop is "plugged in and charging" but shows a red X over the battery.
Wifi meter shows the blue "thinking" circle, when hovered over shows I am connected and have internet access.
Another thing that's not working is the screen brightness and volume meters that appear when unsing Fn+arrow keys (they still function, but the meters don't appear on the screen).
This is such a strange combination of problems, I have no clue what's going on. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the lenovo energy management drivers, with no luck.
EDIT: And now I'm getting this error when trying to reinstall lenovo energy management

Maybe this workaround would help you:
1) Open the Start menu, and type gpedit.msc in the search and press Enter.
2) UAC notification would appear, so click Enter.
3) Now you can set and manage the Local Group Policies
4) Open the all users and on the left side (pane), click on an expand User Configuration, Administrative Templates and Start Menu and Taskbar.
5) Search in right pane for Remove the battery meter and click on Edit.
6) to Enable the Power Icon - Select Disabled or Not Configured and click OK.
7) Now reboot the notebook

EPM Report/Input template & functions not working

Hello Experts,
We are working on SAP BPC 10 NW SP 04, and EPM Addin SP 16.
We have an input template/report where- in rows we have 3 dimensions and 3 in columns. In template we have used EPMDimensionoverride function for row and columns both, also extensively used EPMDimensionPropertyValues for filters of other dimensions.
We are facing different types of problems with this report:
Scenario1 – The template does not gets opened. We have “Refresh while opening the sheet” option in use. While opening this template, the refresh doesn’t happen and it says “Process in progress.Please wait”. And the Excel is hanged out totally.
Scenario 2 – In the filter part where we have used EPMDimensionPropertyValues functions. Sometimes it shows the dropdown list and sometimes not. IF we select any member in the filter, the other dropdown’s become disabled, but after refresh they are working. If the property values exceed 255 limit, we specify a range in the EPMDimensionPropertyValues function. But sometimes this is also not working. If we specify range it doesn’t populate the data also plus the dropdown created is blank. One point noticed was that when the sheet is protected it displays some dropdown lists, but when we unprotect the sheet all the dropdown’s are listed. We are facing quite weird behavior while using this function.
Research a lot on this, Tried processing all dimensions, took them offline then online, Log out from the sessions and then re- logged in. Run the program UJA_REFRESH_DIM_CACHE, but no luck!
I copied the same environment into new. and executed the template. There it is working fine! except the EPMDimensionPropertyValues function. Dont know what the exact cause is???

Based on your description it's not possible to help you... You have some complex template with a lot of formulas. And you have issues. Try to isolate the issue on some simple template and provide the screenshot with the formulas explanation.

Folder level permission not working

Hi,
I have created a user Test_sup and assign few finance roles in BI system.I have imported these users and role to business object system and then i created an Enterprise group Financial reports and add the Sap roles as sub group and the test_sup is also member of the Financial reports parent group.Now i assigned the user test_sup on a folder called security and assigned the customized access level which i created and removed the folder inheritance.
Now when the test_sup logs in BI lauchpad he is able to see all the folders as well security folders.But i need to restrict the user by only access to security folder which mean he should only see the folder security and not all folder .
Pls let me know if i ahd made any mistake above as it is not working .

So it mean i should alter the standard access level of Everyone.
Also i am also not able to remove Everyone and Administrator group on any folder .The tab remove is faded.
