Input schedule: Derive key for key range from Dimension member properties

Hey guys,
I'm facing the problem within a input layout. There are three keys in the row key range.
The first row key is filled by the members of a dimension. The second and third row
should be filled by the dependencies shown in the dimension members.
Example:
Dimension:
- Order number
Properties:
- Client (also implemented as standalone dimension where all required characteristics are maintaned)
- Costcenter (also implemented as standalone dimension where all required characteristics are maintaned)
Entries in dimension members of Ordern number:
Order number, Client, Costcenter:
1000, 10, 511
2000, 10, 533
3000, 12, 511
4000, 15, 588
Entries in dimension Members of Client:
10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20
Entries in dimension Members of Costcenter:
511,533,555,588
My row key range is defined as follows: Exp1: Order number, Exp2: Client, Exp3: Costcenter
For Planning purposes i need a input schedule that schows only the valid combinations shown above
in master data of order number. Is this possible or do I have to leverage script logic to use dependencies shown in master data for reporting oder planning purposes !

Hi Moritz,
As Nilanjan said, this is not really possible with a basic EVDRE at the moment. Your best bet is probably to either build your own solution using EVEXP, EVGET, and EVSND, or to use an EVDRE based on only the Order # to get the values and an EVSND based on the Order # and the properties of the Order # in the AfterRange of the EVDRE.
I actually like the second option a lot better (EVDRE with EVSND in the AfterRange) because for larger queries the read performance should be better and it will be more maintainable in the long run.

    Since you have already posted the depreciation for the periods 01 to 04, the system assumes that there are no postings pending for those periods and hence shows the recalculated depreciation in period 05. But you can do the repeat depreciation run using AFAB transaction code. You can try them for period 04 and the entire depreciation posted till 04 will get charged in Period 04 itself.

The problem is here two different constarints from two different tables. While inserting, it is checking from both the tables whether the parent is exist or not.

    Actually the design is completely incorrect.
    What you say is
    I have
    'foo', 'foo series'
    'foo','foo model'
    'foo',666
    By virtue of table3 referring to both table1 and table2.
    This means you actually need to have 1 (one) table:
    'foo','foo series','foo model', 666
    And the 'problem' disappears.

  • Retrieve data from a report or database to an input schedule in BPC for exc

    Hi,
    I am using BPC for excel ( v 5.1).
    I've created an Input Schedule(Input-1) using BPC for excel and sent data to the dB.
    I need this (Input-1) data to use it in a new Input Schedule(Input-2), for further manipulation.
    I need this data to be dumped in a sheet for further calculations in (Input-2).
    How can i bring this data?
    I created an input schedule(Input-2) and tried building an evdre in an excel macro to get it as a report of the 1st Input. But i was unsuccessful. I faced an error "ERR: Invaled KeyRange Header".
    Am i thinking in the correct way? Do we 've any other options to retrieve this data?
    Need your help to proceed....
    (Pretty soon, the environment is going to be with version 7.0)

  • How Do I get a License key for Trial version from the App Store?

    I downloaded a Trial version of Aperture 3.1.2 a few weeks ago from the App Store. I love it. Now I want to buy it, but, can't figure out how to get a license key from the App Store. When you start up Aperture Trial version, a 'nag' box comes up asking if you want to buy the application or continue using the trial version or Authorize (I guess that is what you would pick once you have the key). If I pick "Buy", the application opens Safari and takes me to the Apple online store, NOT the App store! At the Apple Store, you can buy the key for $199 or an upgrade from a previous version for $99. Whoopie! What is Apple thinking? The App store is selling Aperture for $79.99. I guess that means you don't get the box or written manuals (which I haven't used for any software in many years).
    So how do I get a license key for the App Store version? Do I just Go to the App Store, pay the money, download and install the program over again. Then transfer my trial version library somehow? Then deinstall the trial version? I'd love to buy and use Aperture for $79.99, but, I'm not willing to pay $199 for it.  Apple has me confused.
    Anybody have a clue?

    P.S. I'm quite willing to put in the time and effort necessary to learn Aperture (or any other software I decide to use, "Pro" or not). I simply don't see the value in buying the box version when I'm pretty sure I won't be using any paper manuals.  I very comfortable using online help files, having done so as a professional numerical control programmer for many years in my work. For reference, I'm retired, on a limited income and will be using Aperture as a rank amateur photographer who could use a little more horsepower than iPhoto offers.

    I dont know about the CATS system. But when ur user selects the varaint, he should remove his own id and execute the query. This should display all the variants existing for that program. Then he can select the required variant.
    The user can also save this varaint under his own ID

  • How to build dynamic input schedule from version

    Hi experts,
    I want to create an input schedule based on my category selection which will allow users to enter data to budget part but changing the actual part is prohibited.
    For example I have category member which is 2010-09-1. This means I am working on 2010 Budget which has 9 periods of actual and 3 periods of forecast and 2011 Budget. In my input schedule I would have 24 months from 01.2010 to 12.2011 and I will copy actual to budget for the first 9 months but I do not want users to change first 9 months actual data from input schedule.
    What solution can you propose for this in BPC NW ?

    Hi Ergin,
    From the description you have provided, I guess you will have the TIME dimension in the Column. The CATEGORY would be set to 2010-09-1, lets suppose. In this case, the first 9 columns should be locked for any changes. For this, you need to use the Data Validation technique, which is native to Excel.
    select an empty cell, lets say D1. in this cell, you should fetch the value "2010-09" from the version "2010-09-1". If the version is changed to "2010-10-1", the cell D1 will be automatically updated and will show "2010-10". In the column, in the row just above the Time dimension, write a formula to fetch the year and monthnum property of the Time member. Lets say, the time dimension members are displayed in the cells E4 to AB4 (24 columns for 24 months). In the cell E2, you can write the formula, =EVPRO("application name",E$4,"YEAR")&"-"&EVPRO("application Name",E$4,"MonthNum"). This will return 2010-01 in the cell E2 for the member 2010.JAN. Similarly, for 2010.FEB, the cell should display "2010-02". We will keep the formula in E2 only. After the expansion, the formula also will be expanded for the other cells.
    Select the first data cell of the EVDRE report. Open Data Validation. In the Settings Tab, in the Formula field, write =D1>E$2. Then go to the error alert tab and choose the style as stop and give some title and message. This would typically mean that if value of D1 (in this case 2010-09) is not greater than E2 (in this case 2010-01), then the error message will be displayed, when we try to enter values in these cells. And it will not allow to enter any value.
    Once the EVDRE is expanded, this data validation will be copied into all the other data cells. So, in this way, the enter input schedule can be kept dynamic.

    HI,
       There is no specific way (something like a menu command). You can define a specific colors or format for the cells(or some formulas which change the format of the cell), but this is related to the input schedule design.

  • LIV tolerance for price variance from PO to LIV

    I am finding difficulty in setting up the tolerance key for price variance from PO value to invoice value. Suppose if PO price is $100 then system should allow upto $105 with out blocking means with percentage of 5%. If it exceeds 5% system should block the invoice.
    Please suggest the tolerance key to use and if any other settings required.

    Following is the SAP help on the Tolerance settings for Invoice. Check the config and decide what is best for you (from your brief explanation it looks like AP and PP may be relevant fro your case)
    ===================
    Set Tolerance Limits
        In this step, you specify the tolerance limits for each tolerance key
        for each company code.
        When processing an invoice, the R/3 System checks each item for
        variances between the invoice and the purchase order or goods receipt.
        The different types of variances are defined in tolerance keys.
        The system uses the following tolerance keys to check for variances:
        o   AN: Amount for item without order reference
            If you activate the item amount check, the system checks every line
            item in an invoice with no order reference against the absolute
            upper limit defined.
        o   AP: Amount for item with order reference
            If you activate the item amount check, the system checks specific
            line items in an invoice with order reference against the absolute
            upper limit defined. Which invoice items are checked depends on how
            you configure the item amount check.
        o   BD: Form small differences automatically
            The system checks the balance of the invoice against the absolute
            upper limit defined. If the upper limit is not exceeded, the system
            automatically creates a posting line called Expense/Income from
            Small Differences, making the balance zero and allowing the system
            to post the document.
        o   BR: Percentage OPUn variance (IR before GR)
            The system calculates the percentage variance between the following
            ratios: quantity invoiced in order price quantity units : quantity
            invoiced in order units and quantity ordered in order price quantity
            units : quantity ordered in order units. The system compares the
            variance with the upper and lower percentage tolerance limits.
        o   BW: Percentage OPUn variance (GR before IR)
            The system calculates the percentage variance between the following
            ratios: quantity invoiced in order price quantity units: quantity
            invoiced in order units and goods receipt quantity in order price
            quantity units : goods receipt quantity in order units. The system
        compares the variance with the upper and lower percentage limits
        defined.
    o   DQ: Exceed amount: quantity variance
        If a goods receipt has been defined for an order item and a goods
        receipt has already been posted, the system multiplies the net order
        price by (quantity invoiced - (total quantity delivered - total
        quantity invoiced)).
        If no goods receipt has been defined, the system multiplies the net
        order price by (quantity invoiced - (quantity ordered - total
        quantity invoiced)).
        The system compares the outcome with the absolute upper and lower
        limits defined.
        This allows relatively high quantity variances for invoice items for
        small amounts, but only small quantity variances for invoice items
        for larger amounts.
        You can also configure percentage limits for the quantity variance
        check. In this case, the system calculates the percentage variance
        from the expected quantity, irrespective of the order price, and
        compares the outcome with the percentage limits configured.
        The system also carries out a quantity variance check for planned
        delivery costs.
    o   DW: Quantity variance when GR quantity = zero
        If a goods receipt is defined for an order item but none has as yet
        been posted, the system multiplies the net order price by (quantity
        invoiced + total quantity invoiced so far).
        The system then compares the outcome with the absolute upper
        tolerance limit defined.
        If you have not maintained tolerance key DW for your company code,
        the system blocks an invoice for which no goods receipt has been
        posted yet. If you want to prevent this block, then set the
        tolerance limits for your company code for tolerance key DW to Do
        not check.
    o   KW: Variance from condition value
        The system calculates the amount by which each delivery costs item
        varies from the product of quantity invoiced * planned delivery
        costs/ planned quantity. It compares the variance with the upper and
        lower limits defined (absolute limits and percentage limits).
    o   LA: Amount of blanket purchase order
            The system determines the number of days by which the invoice is
            outside the planned time interval. If the posting date of the
            invoice is before the validity period, the system calculates the
            number of days between the posting date and the start of the
            validity period. If the posting date of the invoice is after the
            validity period, the system calculates the number of days between
            the posting date and the end of the validity period. The system
            compares the number of days with the with the absolute upper limit
            defined.
        o   PP: Price variance
            The system determines by how much each invoice item varies from the
            product of quantity invoiced * order price. It then compares the
            variance with the upper and lower limits defined (absolute limits
            and percentage limits).
            When posting a subsequent debit/credit, the system first checks if a
            price check has been defined for subsequent debits/credits. If so,
            the system calculates the difference between (value of subsequent
            debit/credit + value invoiced so far) / quantity invoiced so far *
            quantity to be debited/credited and the product of the quantity to
            be debited/credited * order price and compares this with the upper
            and lower tolerance limits (absolute limits and percentage limits).
        o   PS: Price variance: estimated price
            If the price in an order item is marked as an estimated price, for
            this item, the system calculates the difference between the invoice
            value and the product of quantity invoiced * order price and
            compares the variance with the upper and lower tolerance limits
            defined (absolute limits and percentage limits).
            When posting a subsequent debit/credit, the system first checks
            whether a price check has been defined for subsequent
            debits/credits, If so, the system calculates the difference between
            (value of subsequent debit/credit + value invoiced so far) /
            quantity invoiced so far * quantity to be debited/credited and the
            product quantity to be debited/credited * order price. It then
            compares the variance with the upper and lower tolerance limits
            defined (absolute limits and percentage limits).
        o   ST: Date variance (value x days)
            The system calculates for each item the product of amount *
            (scheduled delivery date - date invoice entered) and compares this
            product with the absolute upper limit defined. This allows
            relatively high schedule variances for invoice items for small
            amounts, but only small schedule variances for invoice items for
            large amounts.
        o   VP: Moving average price variance
            When a stock posting line is created as a result of an invoice item,
            the system calculates the new moving average price that results from
            the posting. It compares the percentage variance of the new moving
            average price to the old price using the percentage tolerance limits
            defined.
        Variances are allowed within predefined tolerance limits. If a variance
        exceeds a tolerance limit, however, the system issues a message
        informing the user. If an upper limit (except with BD and VP) is
        exceeded, the invoice is blocked for payment when you post it. You must
        then release the invoice in a separate step. If the tolerance limit for
        BD is breached, the system cannot post the invoice.
        Note that if you set all limits for a tolerance key to Do not check, the
        system does not check that tolerance limit. Therefore any variance would
        be accepted. This does not make sense particularly in the case of the
        tolerance key Form small differences automatically.
        Activities
        Configure the tolerance limits for the individual tolerance keys.

  • Max file size of input schedule

    Hello experts,
    We are using BPC 7.5 NW sp4
    I've created input schedule and it's size about 6MB. I tried to save this input schedule, but system returns error.
    Currently the biggest file I've managed to save is 2MB
    Does anybody know max allowed size of file for input schedules and reports? And How we can change this parameter

    Hi Evgen,
    BPC doesn't handle upload of large files through the Excel interface very well. If you go into UJFS (in BW) and find the input schedules for your application, you should be able to upload the input schedule through that interface.
    A good way to "compress" reports and input schedules is to delete all data from them before saving. I don't know if this will work in your case, but maybe it's another option.

    Hi all, we need a brief explanation of Journals vs regular Input Schedules.
    Can an expert explain to me the differences between a Journal Entry and just a regular Input schedule?
    1.For journal entries are you only supposed to enter the change or the total for that account?
    2. Where are journal entries stored?
    3. Can journal entries be viewed latter and/or reversed?
    4. Do Journal entries get put into the audit tables?

    I think you're right that this is a significant difference between the two. I believe journals operate just as you expect - they are an "additional" amount.
    So if you already have $100 in an account and you put in a journal for $20, then the system will do the logic to make that account value $120 behind the scenes. If you input $20 into an input schedule the system will make that account value $20, not $120.

  • Using a range of dates for Key Date

    In a HR Bi data warehouse, we have a position-to-position hierarchy, where each of the nodes are time dependent. So, it shows for each node,  valid from and valid to dates, and all the employees who are reporting to that position. This hierarchy is built on the infoobject 0HRPOSITION, which is maintained in R/3 and extracted to BI.
    Let us take an example: Position 1000 is valid from 1-1-2006 to 6-30-2006 Employees reporting to this position are A,B,C,D
                                           Position 1000 is valid from 7-1-2006 to 12-31-9999 Employees reporting to this position are A,E,F,G
    When a user chooses the position 1000, and date range 1-1-2006 to 12-31-2006, it show the complete list of employees as
    A,B,C,D,E,F,G.
    Because the Keydate can only be a single value, and it is automatically taking today's date, and pulling the nodes based on that.
    I have created a hierarchy node variable on the 0HRPOSITION infoObject, and entered the value 1000, with no value for the keydate.
    The system is simply showing employees, A,E,F and G. That is my problem
    My requirement is this: I like to be able to give a date range, (for the hierarchy)  say from 1-1-2006 to 12/31/2006 and get the complete list of Employees, which is A,B,C,D,E,F,G.
    Is this possible? Can I change the way this hierarchy is defined so that I can pull the possible values for a range?

    After some thinking, I have realized that these options will not work.
    We have a position-to-position hierarchy that shows who reports to who in the organization. This hierarchy is built on the Infoobject 0HRPOSITION.  Each node in this hierarchy has is time-dependent. Note that, the entire hierarchy is not timedependent. Only the individual position nodes are time-dependent.
    This 0HRPOSITION infoobject exists in the  Heacount cube as one of the characteristics. Here is my requirement.
    1. I want to show in a report, all the employees (directly or indirectly) reporting to a manager for a period of say, 1 year?
    I know that I can specify a key date for the hierarchy 0HRPOSITION, then the report will show all the employees (direct and indirect) reporting to a position say 6/30/2008. I don't want this for a specific date, I want to get  ALL the employees (direct and indirect) reporting to a position in a range of dates( say 1 year)
    Does that make sense? How do we achieve this goal?

    Dear Friends,
    Is there a work around for single key date restriction for time dependent hierarchy.Bcos i can only select one key date in teh report for my hierarchy so that it will take that hierarchy which falls in this date and display the result accordingly.
    But is there a way to select the date range for key date so that more than one hierarchy can be used to display my report accrding to the time range.
    Say,i have 4 hierarchies (time dependent) like v1,v2,v3,v4 and v5 for jan 08,feb 08,mar 08,apr 08 & may 08 respectively.
    In my report,i want to display the result for the time interval say mar to May.
    So my report should diplay the result according to the 3 different hierarchies for the time period i.e.v3,v4&v5.
    How do i acheive this.

    I think we may do with the Char with text with replecement path.
    take time char as Calmonth and set the offet value as -1 and -2 and design the report and use the hierarchies in that query.
    Am not surt it willwork but better to try with this.
