Insert a flash file to iweb 09 or an easy way to display photos

Goal: have a photo space on my home page that plays automatically - dissolving one to the next.
I am trying to either insert a flash file to my home page http://web.me.com/ksporterproductions/PWF/Home.html
I've used the html widget with this code:

I've also tried doing an imovie - but it doesn't play automatically
Any suggstions for an easy way to do this?? I've been working on it forever!!

when i publish my site and vew it the page on the web it just comes up with the file name w/ the ,swf and the "mising plug-in" message below. if i click on the file name it displays the flash file but gigantic (the entire height of the page).totally perplexed!

While it's been possible to place flash files in iWeb with workarounds in the past it's now easy with the new version. The HTML snippet feature has saved the day, Thanks Apple! I can hardly imagine the net without Flash.

Maybe there is an error in this... because ive tried to use it with a FTP server, and the ".swf" animation is "not charged"... and its in the main page files folder !

I am a Flash developer. When I change a Flash file (SWF) and try to test it, Firefox displays the previous version even though I have cleared the cache. Clearing the cache obviously doesn't clear everything. Why?

I developed a Flash file (SWF) with a light blue start button, placed it on a web server then went to the URL using Firefox (3.6.8). Later I updated the SWF (changed the button to dark blue), replaced the SWF on the web server, opened Firefox and used Tools/Clear Recent History... to clear the cache. Then when I went to the URL to test the replaced SWF it clearly opened the previous version (light blue button). How can that happen if the previous version no longer exists on the web server? Firefox can only be opening the file from its cache, so why is the file still there if I just cleared the cache?

I had the identical issue with iPhone config Utility on windows 7 64bit.
A virtual macOS on the same machine didn't have a problem, windows iTunes didnt have a problem. Just a glitch with ICU on windows
I tried everything you did and the only thing that fixed it was to change the appID or app name (I forget which I did).
I don't know where that old app data is stored on the machine, but I deleted all apps, uninstalled/reinstalled ICU and it still would populate and install the old ipa.
I also still periodically get weird errors/glitches deploying to iOS on windows.
It's like some days I need to deploy with ICU, sometimes iTunes, sometimes I need to run the VM mac... SOO frustrating.
It always works one way or another, so the app itself is always fine.
I guess I really need to look into that new direct deployment option...

Easier way to rearrange photos in iWeb?

I am running 10.4.6 and iWeb 1.1.1 on a PowerBook 1.5Ghz with 1GB of RAM.
OK, when I click a bunch of photos in iPhoto and send them to an iWeb photo page, like everyone else, the photos are completely out of order when the iWeb page opens up. Fine. I start to manually rearrange them.
However - this is a VERY tedious process when you have 60+ photos, and they wind up in nearly reversed order. My process goes something like this:
Scroll to bottom of page. Select photo (left click). Drag (while left-clicking) photo up the page.
Here is where the tedium/problem comes in: I can only see 2 or 3 rows (of 2 each!) of photos at a time - and the page will not auto-scroll while I am clicking and dragging!!
So - I wind up dragging the photo up one or two whole rows. Release the mouse button. Use the scroll wheel to scroll down two rows. Repeat process until photo is in the top row.
Needless to say, this is very time-consuming and I'm going to develop arthritic fingers if I have to do this for 99 photos on each page. I seem to remember at one point (I can't remember if it was iWeb or Homepage - I think it was iWeb) that all I had to do was click and drag the photo to the extreme top of the window (or was it the screen?) and the page would auto-scroll. Then all I had to do was release the mouse button wherever I wanted the photo to go. iWeb doesn't do that any more (at least not that I can tell).
Is there an easier way to do this?

I just wish they hadn't turned off the "auto-scroll" type feature. Creating an album is an extra set of steps now - I like things as easy as possible (which is why I use a Mac...)

Flash files in iWeb site hosted by Godaddy?

Anybody know how to use .swf files in an iWeb site hosted on Godaddy?
I'm trying to see how to use a few .swf files (flash) in my site which I built and maintain with iWeb.
I had set them up back in the .mac days and they were able to work. When .mac ended, I switched the hosting to Dropbox which worked fine (though a little slow) but I guess I hadn't checked those .swf animations. When I was preparing to move the site to GoDaddy recently, the animations weren't working.
My site is now up and running on GoDaddy and I'd like to get those animations working. I've googled/searched for information, but all the info seems to be about using idisk or .mac. Since those no longer exist, I'm having trouble figuring out how to do it.
Anybody know how to use .swf files in an iWeb site hosted on Godaddy?

Upload the files in a folder to the root folder on the server using an FTP app. This page is about audio files but it's the same method for flash...

Is there an easier way to open photo files that were stored in my backup as Document Files besides changing the extension on each of the photos?

I did a backup on my mac of my phone. Then I got a new phone. I don't want to put all of my old photos on the new phone. So, I went to the backup to access the photos so that I could work with them in jpeg form on my computer. I have done this in the past with no problem. This time, when I go to access the photos they are all document files. I need them to be jpeg files. Is there a way to open then as jpegs without opening each individual file and updating the file extension? Also, why did this happen? I recall doing this with my prior iphone and the photos were jpegs and I didn't have to do anything.

This is a really good question about one of the bigger challenges of building a 3D project. When you add objects to the Canvas (including drawing), they get added in the camera's viewspace, facing the camera and sharing the same up-vector (i.e. positive Y is up). This is all well and good, but what about doing what you ask, where you want to add an object in the localspace of another object? Let's look at your example: adding a shape that is coplanar to a photo, with the camera not necessarily aligned with the photo.
As Mark suggested, you can draw the shape in the camera's viewspace and then drag-and-drop the Position and Rotation channels from the photo onto the shape. This will replace the shape's Position and Rotation values with that of the photo, making them coplanar and located in the same place. The shortcoming of this method is that you draw the shape at a size that seems correct in the Canvas, but once it's moved to the same place as the photo, it will often turn out to be too small or large. Then you have to make further tweaks.
Another solution is to use the Isolate command. Isolate temporarily aligns the current view to the selected object and solos that object. So you could isolate the photo and then draw the shape in the Canvas and it will be coplanar with the photo. The only caveat is that the moment you finish drawing the shape, it will disappear. This is because the photo is still isolated (and soloed). As soon as you de-isolate the photo, everything will reappear.
The easiest way to use Isolate for new photos—not ones already in the project—is to place the photo in a 3D group, position the group where you want the photo and shape to be, then isolate the group and add anything you want to it (shapes, image, text, etc).

i know iweb does not support flash but is there a way to change the html code to fix this?
i have tried to "insert" a flash file but it does not show up in the html code?

How to show a multi-page PDF file on iweb?

Hi everyone,
I'm building a website where I am showing a catalog design I did for my previous company. It was designed using Indesign and exported into PDF file. Then I saved the first page as JPEG file, inserted the JPEG file into iweb, and then enabled the JPEG image as a link to the PDF file of the catalog. I thought by this way I can let future employers to download the PDF file and view my design work. However I figured if I put my website link on places like Monster.com, anybody can see it, download it, and just steal or print out my work. I realized this is not a right way to do since my previous company should have the right of the design work. Any suggestions? Is there anyway I can let viewers only view the PDF file on the web browser without being able to download it? How should I do to display the whole catalog in a neat wey using iweb? I think there must be (or must have been at one time) some vulnerability associated with javascripts on websites and that's why it's disabled. Crazy, isn't it?

Display a web page or flash file in an email

we are looking to send clients an e-card for christmas and im
trying to figure out how i could incorporate this into a web page
and insert it in the email so it displays when they open it. im
also wondering how you could insert a flash file in an email so
that it displays as the message and not just an attachment.

Flash file showing up twice in some browsers

I am using a xhtml strict doc and for the life of me cannot
seem to insert my flash file so that it shows once in every browser
and validates right. This validates even though it shows the flash
movie twice in ie and opera.
Anyone have an idea on how this can be fixed to show once and
still validate?

Flash embed/object code doesn't validate. It is not W3C
recognized and
never was. Either accept it and move on. Or, have a look at
the Satay Flash

Flash files with right click imported in dreamweaver files

Flash files created with Captivate which contain rightclick
functionality are imported to html files created in Dreamweaver. In
other words, I don't use the html created by Captivate but another
html file to build up a whole course. But now a couple of those
flash files contain a right click and obviously I have to adjust
the dreamweaver file with some of the script that William Heinz has
created. I am not an HTML expert and I am not 100% confident that I
can do with just endless try&error. Could anyone give me some
hints?

I hope there is one person out there who can help me with
this issue.
I have started from scratch and created a blank html with
dreamweaver and inserted the flash file (with right click
animation) created with Captivate.
Then I made the adjustments as per Heinz and also included a
ID=Captivate1 as the RightClick.js refers to that.
The main difference between this html file and the html file
created with Captivate, is that the Captivate one also has
writedocument bit.
Anyway, is there anybody in the world who can give me
atip/hint/suggestion?????

IMPORTING FLASH FILE IN CAPTIVATE

I have an interactive training module created with Flash. It has buttons, videos, and quizzes.
Now, to make it compatible with SCORM. I was advised to use Captivate.
Is it possible to export the whole flash file in Captivate? Please help.

If this was all developed in Flash then the best bet is to use the Pipwerks SCORM wrapper to make your Flash file compatible.

You may be able to insert your Flash file as an animation into Captivate, but this won't make it SCORM compatible. You might be able to recode the Flash file as an interactive widget and make it have a Success result when the user passes the module. Then when you insert it into Captivate you can set the interactive widget to have a score.

Error while using Image component to display a child flash file

Hi
I'm using Xcelsius version 4.5. I used the "Image Component" to import a child flash file(.swf) into the parent flash file.
I gave the path "D:\246024\Loblaw\Dashboard Docs\New Folder\trend input.swf" in the general tab of the image component.
After exporting the .xlf into a flash file , it works fine in the system in which i created it. If i open the same flash file in any other system the parent file opens but the child flash file imported through the image component is not displayed.
Please help me out in solving this issue

yes, you will face the same problem as its still looking for the path of the swf.
you need to have the SWF on specific location which is accessable by the Parent SWF
usually web page or something which is accessable for all.
