Flash files in iWeb - Thanks

While it's been possible to place flash files in iWeb with workarounds in the past it's now easy with the new version. The HTML snippet feature has saved the day, Thanks Apple! I can hardly imagine the net without Flash.

Like ive said in this topic, i need to know where Altartifact put his files in his iDisk, too.
Ive tried all that i know, location in the Web folder, site folder, "my website" folder... Link with "../", with .//"... xD

Maybe there is an error in this... because ive tried to use it with a FTP server, and the ".swf" animation is "not charged"... and its in the main page files folder !
I cant understand... this code was working with iWeb Enhancer... :/

when i publish my site and vew it the page on the web it just comes up with the file name w/ the ,swf and the "mising plug-in" message below. if i click on the file name it displays the flash file but gigantic (the entire height of the page).totally perplexed!

Insert a flash file to iweb 09 or an easy way to display photos

Goal: have a photo space on my home page that plays automatically - dissolving one to the next.
I am trying to either insert a flash file to my home page http://web.me.com/ksporterproductions/PWF/Home.html

Flash files in iWeb site hosted by Godaddy?

Anybody know how to use .swf files in an iWeb site hosted on Godaddy?
I'm trying to see how to use a few .swf files (flash) in my site which I built and maintain with iWeb.
I had set them up back in the .mac days and they were able to work. When .mac ended, I switched the hosting to Dropbox which worked fine (though a little slow) but I guess I hadn't checked those .swf animations. When I was preparing to move the site to GoDaddy recently, the animations weren't working.
My site is now up and running on GoDaddy and I'd like to get those animations working. I've googled/searched for information, but all the info seems to be about using idisk or .mac. Since those no longer exist, I'm having trouble figuring out how to do it.
Anybody know how to use .swf files in an iWeb site hosted on Godaddy?

Upload the files in a folder to the root folder on the server using an FTP app. This page is about audio files but it's the same method for flash...

Breaking Down Flash File

G'day,
I am trying to convert a flash website into a static html
website. To do this I've saved the flash web pages to hard disk and
I want to be able to open up the flash files to get all the photo's
out.
I am trying to open a flash file in flash, but when I do it
simply plays. How do I access the insides of a flash file please?

If you do not have the FLA then there is no easy way - and
technically anything you view in your
browser is actually on you hard drive in a temporary Internet
files folder - location differs
depending on browser and OS.
If you find the SWF(s) and if it is not protected at time of
publish - then you can try importing it
into Flash - this will not allow you to edit it like the
original but it may import some assets
depending on how the original file was setup and what kind of
assets were used.
You have a slightly uphill battle here - kind of like asking
how to get the egg back in its shell
after it's been made into an omelette.

Flash File Made in Keynote does not work in IWeb site

I created a file in keynote and exported it to a flash file. I then drag and drop into my website and it shows up as a text in a box (the title and .swf). What am I doing wrong and is really that complicated?? I have exported before to a quicktime file and then dragged it in IWeb and it worked fine, what's the story??

The main problem people have with this is to get the idea of how you store the file on your server and how to create the link to it. If the link is not exactly right - it won't work.
Test your link by copying it and pasting it into your browser to see if it works.

So i've went to both links. After I place this:
iweb2 navbar is rendered by javascript widget, therefore you can change navbar font style with javascript; this is an efficient way to change navbar font style.
Copy and paste the following into your pages using HTML Snippet:

CAN YOU USE A FLASH TEMPLATE IN IWEB?

I have recently created my website using iWeb....albeit with much help from this forum...and am very pleased with the results.
I would like to, however, have my site open with a Flash introduction. I have seen many affordable Flash Templates for sale on the web and am wondering it any of these would successfully work with iWeb. If so:
1. What specs would I need to look for?
2. Does anyone know of a site that sells iWeb compatible Flash intros?

Yes I have used Keynote as an intro and I once used it in swf format. I ended up liking the QT better.

But as far as Adobe Flash goes.....I don't have the pro version (I have Basic) and I got a fully functional demo for 30days. Yeah it did cost about 400 bucks after the 30 day trial. Yikes.
On the right side of this page is a third party flash file that I bought for a dollar. I used the free demo of Flash and put it on my site. After you format the flash file you want.....you don't need to keep Flash unless you want it (I did).

How to usa flash media with iWeb?

I'm trying to build a nice .Mac website, but I'm having problems using flash files. Does anyone have an answer to this problem? Or will Apple need to update their iWeb software to include this feature?

Thank you. Actually, it was you who got me started using Flash! I visited your baby's gallery (very cute) a while back and recall you mentioning you'd acheived the effects with Flash.
Is the photo animation part of the navigation menu flash movie?
They're separate .swf files as I want to have a different animation for each page banner whilst retaining the continuity of a single navigation bar. Currently, only my main blog page has an animated banner.
And do you just reserve the space with a text box and then edit the code later?
I tried that at first, but found that the iWeb generated HTML code for the text box was sometimes the last peice of code before the footer code (go figure) and simply swapping the code would displace other iWeb generated elements.
My solution was to first uncheck the Include page in navigation menu and Display navigation menu check boxes and create a header space big enough to hold the animations. Then I would place the Flash code directly after the beginning of the header_layer in the HTML and surround it with it's own div tags like so;

What app do you use to generate your flash menus?
I used Flash 8 to generate the navigation bar using different .png files to define the in, out and down states. It took me about 15 minutes. It's very simple, even for me! The nine .png files (3 for each item) took me about 4 hours in PSE3! I'm no graphic artist! I can send you the Flash source code if you wish.

Error while using Image component to display a child flash file

Hi
I'm using Xcelsius version 4.5. I used the "Image Component" to import a child flash file(.swf) into the parent flash file.
I gave the path "D:\246024\Loblaw\Dashboard Docs\New Folder\trend input.swf" in the general tab of the image component.
After exporting the .xlf into a flash file , it works fine in the system in which i created it. If i open the same flash file in any other system the parent file opens but the child flash file imported through the image component is not displayed.
Please help me out in solving this issue

yes, you will face the same problem as its still looking for the path of the swf.
you need to have the SWF on specific location which is accessable by the Parent SWF
usually web page or something which is accessable for all.
