Hi yea,
I want a user to be able to submit a form and have that
content inserted
into a db at the same time, how do I know which will fire
first.

Insert and delete same record from database immediately

Hi,
I am using Tomcat 4.1.12 and Oracle 9i. Since there is no transaction management in tomcat, except via third party tools, i have to do the following to simulate transaction management :-
insert a particular record
<some other problem occured so must...>
Delete the same record (which i just inserted)
However, my record was not deleted even though there is no error thrown out. everything seems to work perfectly. Is it because i just inserted the record and then straight away deleted that's why the delete fails to delete ? I tried to setAutoCommit(false) and then commit in the delete method, but it fails. I also tried to commit after i delete, and again, it doesn't work.
What's the remedy ?

It seems to me that Tomcat is not your issue with regards to transaction management. You just need to manage transactions at the application level. A more relevant question is what DBMS are you using and does it support setAutoCommit, commit, or rollback using a JDBC connection?
A connection on a datasource (DSN) is not a pool, but just a single connection. Many different threads/clients may want to use a connection to perform a transaction. You need to manage/control concurrency on your connection(s) to avoid a situation where 2 separate clients are using the same connection to perform transactions at the same time.
The concept of commit and rollback are totally relevant here and have nothing to do with Tomcat, but with the underlying DBMS. If a client calls setAutoCommit, commit, or rollback, it will cause the DBMS commit or rollback all statements processed by the connection since the last commit. If 2 clients are using the same connection it is possibile that 1 client can accidentially commit or rollback another client's transaction.
The jdk 1.4 javax.sql package contains classes that provide implementations for management of connection pools, although I have not used them yet as I have previously coded my own.

Insert and update same record of table using store procedure in oracle 10g

I am using oracle sql developer for this.
I have created Store procedure which run after every 30mins of interval.
the problem is Ii need to insert data for first time of day then later that same record should update for particular field(here its plan code).
if new field is coming (if new plan code is generated) then it should insert data and again update same for interval.
means for each plan individual record(i.e. plan wise summary) should be there for only a day. next day new record for same plan.

Insert-Update on same page

A user filters a specific record based upon the record's name
and modification level and all the info based upon this filter is
then displayed on an edit page. The user can then change any field
except for the record name. Any changes are saved as an update to
the selected record. However, if the user changes the mod level, an
insert statement must be initiated and the changes must be saved as
a new record, not an update to the current record, therfore leaving
the filtered record as is. Any ideas on how to get this
accomplished would be greatly appreciated!!!

On your form, include a hidden field that has the original
mod level. On your processing page, compare the old with the new
and code accordingly.

Automating a Parse-and-Email Process

I have a 100-page report in Adobe Acrobat Pro 10. Each page includes a distinct email address and is intended for a distinct recipient. I need to extract each page from the report as a separate pdf file, rename each page with the email address contained within it and email each page separately in MS Outlook 2010.
If anyone has already written a script for this sort of task, I'd greatly appreciate seeing it! Otherwise, where should I begin in trying to automate this process? I figure its most appropriate to write a program to do this for me, if so, which language should I use?

AppleScript can do stuff like this, although you will need to be a bit more specific about your data formats. I read that your desired script will:
1) Read a specified (or asked for) data file;
2) Get specified (or asked for) file names;
3) Find a match between some part of a record in the data file and some part of a file name;
4) On a match, append a description text specified in the record to the file name;
5) Move the renamed file to a location specified in the record.
You will need to define the format of the records in the data file, including the line endings and item delimiters, and the various portions of each record that will be used. Other items that need some clarification are things like error handling, such as what if there is a file with the same name in the destination folder or what if a record does not have all of the items.

Mail in Mavericks. Cannot email web page.

"Safari:File:Share:Email this Page" does not work in Mavericks.
It opens a new mail message ok, but when I send it to myself, all images come up blank in Mail.
Even if I forward a html email to myself from another computer (or from Thunderbird on this MacBook Pro) the same thing happens. The message opens ok, but when I click on "forward" in Mail, images are lost.
If I open the same message in Thunderbird, all works as expected. Images show, and when I hit "forward" they also show and when I open these emails they work fine. Until I try to forward them from Mail when I lose all the image links.
I have been using Mail to send a regular newsletter for years and I depend on it. The procedure works perfectly in Snow Leopard, etc. Please test with these examples:

Mail programs do not read <DOCTYPE>, nor <head> information.
Start simply with:
<html>
<body>
<table> etc and then code in place
</body>
</html>
Paste the code into Thunderbird and send to yourself.
Or open in Safari: click "share" and "email this page". Just like the good old days!
This works, even in Mail in Mavericks. You can now forward from Mail.

Wikipedia and some myspace pages "all greek" in safari!

Hi everyone,
anyone know how i can fix a possible corruption in safari? All wikipedia pages in whatever language are coming through in greek lettering, and some my space pages i've noticed are looking greek too. I've opened the same pages in firefox and they are fine and the same pages on my home computer open fine in safari too!
Any ideas on how to remove the corruption??

It could be you need to clean up your font cache (example 1)
or you have SOME kind of Phonetics font on there, conflicting.
If your problem looks different than any of the examples,

I'll try to make this clear. I USED to be able to left click on a hyper link and the hyper link would open in a NEW tab. Now for some unknown reason the hyper link by default opens in the same tab (window). I have to right click the hyper link in order for it to open in a NEW tab. (Yes, my 'tools'> 'options'> 'tabs' are set to "open new windows in a new tab." (Please no answers telling me to get rid of the Ask toolbar because I don't have one.) Thank you.

Creation of new button on same page after insert command

I have an application running on apex.oracle.com where my workspace name is shruti_work,username is [email protected] and password is buwigi. The application name inside this is "app2"
I am trying to achieve one functionality there but unable to get it so felt like seeking an help from experts here. I have two forms there one page1 form which is simplly made on an html region with go button which is navigating the page 1 items value to page 2 but simply passing their address witout updting the database table.
In Page 2 i created page on a table or view, which made some extra buttons which i dont want like applychanges ,delete button, cancel button. I created a create button even which is updating my database with insert sql command. What i am seeing is after my create button is pressed i got navigated to same page 2 which i want to but the applychange button, cancel and delete button got appeared. I dont get the idea why it is so. i have checked the buttons even i didnt found anything there.
All i want is when i press create button in page 2, my database get update and at the same page (2) a new button get appears which i have to use for other things. Approaching to this solution i created a button with giving databse action update and condition to this button "value of item in expression 1 is not null" and in expression 1 i passed p2_id...... but my new button is not getting created.
Any help on this?

I dont want applychanges button and delete button in my page 2. But when i created form on a table or view this but got created and i cannot delete it even. When i am navigating my page from page 1 to page 2 and filling the fields in page 2 and clicking create button, at that time i want after updating my table and running my plsql process which i have created which you can see in page processing, my button at same page get generate which i will use to navigate to other form. This button which i want to generate after clicking my create button will be meaningful only if my record get inserted in table. so that is why i want it at that time.
I dont want any report so i am not creating form on a table or view

I want to do an insert into both tables via the application and also via the same page (with one button link). I have made a form to add an employee with an add button - adding an employee is no problem.
Now, on the same page, I have added a html text area in another region, where the user can write a note. But how do I get the note to insert into the Notes table when the user clicks the add button?
In other words, when the user clicks 'add', the employee information should be inserted into the Employees table and the note should be inserted into the Notes table.
How do I go about doing this?

My pl/sql code is the same as posted earlier.
Upon inserting data into the forms and clicking the add button, I get this error...
ORA-06550: line 1, column 102: PL/SQL: ORA-00904: "NOTES": invalid identifier ORA-06550: line 1, column 7: PL/SQL: SQL Statement ignored
     Error      Unable to process row of table EMPLOYEES.
Is there something wrong with the pl/sql code or is it something else?

Hi,
You do not need to mount a screen. Just add a new region with several text fields inside. You should fetch a row by a process and populate the set when you load the page or click on a button. Insert, update, and delete should be done by processes. You have to have Next and Previous buttons to brows trough all rows of the detail table.
The most important thing here is what the connections between tables in your database are.
If they are the "One to many, One to one" you can use the approach described above.
If they are "One to many, One to many" will be better to use buttons or links to lunch details' tables in separate forms.
If the second and third tables are connected only to the master table you can use two buttons at the right of every master row. Clicking on the buttons will bring separate form for each detail table.
If the third table is just a luckup table to the second one you can use "Select List" field into tabular form of the second table in one Master-Detail form.

Missing Format Text, Insert, and Edit Source, etc Options on Some Pages

I’m having trouble understanding why certain pages have more edit options than others. I’m new to Sharepoint Workspace 2010 and I’ve been reading/ researching for answers for 2 days now. I tried to HyperSnap in some pictures however it will not allow me
to until my account is verified and it's not sending a verification email, sorry!
Issue:
On some pages, I have the edit pencil with lots of great edit options such as Format Text, Insert and Edit Source. (This is good!)
On some pages I have no edit pencil, but when I go to Page
à Edit Page à I get few edit options, not including Format Text, Insert or Edit Source. (This is not good)
After reading other somewhat similar posts, I noticed that on the pages where I get lots of edit options, they show SitePages in the URL. Where I get few edit options, SitePages is not in the URL.
Is there a fix so that I can have the expanded edit options in all of my pages? Thank you for your help!

In SharePoint we don’t have edit page options [ribbon toolbar page edit formatting options] for all types of page for application page we cannot edit application page like site pages
again the missing edit button might be due to many causes:
Can you verify that it's not a permissions issue? Try navigating to the page in edit mode by appending to the url: your-site/Pages/YourPage.aspx?ControlMode=Edit&DisplayMode=Design
Or you can try this
your-site/Pages/YourPage.aspx? ?ToolPaneView=2
1. You can check that on some pages the ribbon is hidden by default. You need to make it visible by clicking on "Show Ribbon" on the "Site Actions" drop-down menu.
2. You haven't been doing Visual Upgrade (which actually replaces your master page with the v4.master)
3. If you have different master page and may be your master page is not 100% compatibile with SP2010, nor does it use the elements from v4.master (collaboration) or the example nightandday.master
To add the button in your page you could use the <SharePoint:PageStateActionButton id="PageStateActionButton" runat="server" Visible="false" /> (if you've seen already that would generate the button on the left side of
the ribbon)!

How to open and navigate between human task forms in a same page?

I use Oracle BPM 11.1.1.5
I have a question about taskflows in BPM Application.
In ADF web application, I create a sipmle task flow and insert view id and bind these to jspx pages, my pages are opend in same page when
return an outcome.
For exapmle I have three pages like A,B,C.
In task flow, insert three view ids and bind to A,B,C.
My first pages is A, and when outcome is B navigate to B, when my outcome is C then navigate to C in a same page not separate pages.
But my problem is here.. in BPM Application when create task forms, every task has a separate task flow that there exist a single view id and a wild card flow in it.
In BPM workspace when initiate human task form is closed, I should press refresh button to see next human task form in task list table.
I tried to create a simple task flow and insert human task forms in it and navigate between these.. but show human task form in wrong display and don`t show some component and human task payload.
Now, my question : How to open and navigate between human task forms in a same page like software installation?

Having a separate Data Control for each human task is normally the case. There is a way to assign multiple human tasks to a single data control (and one task flow), but I don't think that this is going to help you with what I think you're trying to do.
If your human task is called "EmployeeDetail", then you'd use the data control associated with this for the UI pages in the task flow diagram that is associated with this human task. For example, you might have a first page that has just the basic employee information - the fields (at least the ID field) would come from the EmployeeDetail data control. When the end user clicks "Next", you might have this UI page flow to a second UI page in the task flow diagram that has the employee's address information. You might place the address fields from the EmployeeDetail data control onto this second UI page.
You might be asking how the work item instance can automatically flow to the next interactive activity in the process while staying inside the first interactive activity's human task's task flow diagram. This is not how it works - the task flow diagram models the end user interaction while inside a single human task that is tied to a specific interactive activity in the process. If you want a the end user to be able to move the instance through multiple interactive activities in the process in one interaction, look at "Activity Guides". Activity Guides do a nice job of this.
