Insert Books under Custom Object 15

We need to insert/remove a Custom Object 15 record into books. Is this possible in Web Services 2.0 toolkit?

Right. I mean Oracle really needs to get their messaging straight with this stuff. They put out release notices saying R16 will have unlimited objects, but they don't mention that it's not for everybody. Then, I call "Customer Care" and they tell me there's no such thing as unlimited custom objects for anyone. So their corporate messaging and call center are not on the same page with this feature. That's extremely frustrating.

Inserting Entry into Custom Object with API

I have a custom object made and access to both BULK and REST APIs.

Adding new records to a Custom Object is best done using the Bulk API. You need to define a Custom Object import and use it to sync your records into Eloqua.

Hi,
I would recommend you to raise this Issue in the Administration section of the forum instead of Integration.
Never the less I would recommend you to do this check before you proceed
Navigate to the below link
Admin >> Application Customization >> Customize Record Types
and find the "Display Name/Singular" under "Custom Object 01" ones found
Go back to Import/export tool to import data section to locate the name found above.

Custom Object assistance ....

Here's the situation:
I am using the Account Object, Custom Object 01 and then Custom Object 03 as the intersection between the Account and Custom Object 01. This seems to be working fine, however, there is something which I think is odd happening. When viewing the account which has a related object exposed for Custom Object 3 (the intersection table), if I select remove, it removed the record, however the relationship still exists under custom object 3. I would have expected the entire relationship (the record in the intersection component) to be fully removed.
Am I doing something wrong or does this seem to be a flaw in the system ? Any thoughts ????

What I'm trying to do is setup a many-to-many relationship between accounts and 'systems' (custom object). I have used a custom object to define all the 'systems' available. Then I am using another custom object to link the account and system together with additional custom fields to hold various pieces of information which applies to the relationship between the two. Doing this I can see the information from either the account or 'system' side.
Are you saying I should not use Custom Object 3 since it is meant to function independently? I could use one of the custom 4-15 objects, but then the problem arises of not being able to WS or Import into them !! Maybe it's a catch-22!

Data Loader On Demand Inserting Causes Duplicates on Custom Objects

Hi all,
I am having a problem that i need to import around 250,00 records on a regular basis so have built a solution using Dataloader with two processes, one to insert and one to update. I was expecting that imports that had an existing EUI would fail therefore only new records would get inserted (as it says in the PDF) but it keeps creating duplicates even when all the data is exactly the same.
does anyone have any ideas?

Yes, you have encountered an interesting problem. There is a field on every object labelled "External Unique Id" (but it is inconsistent as to whether there is a unique index there or not). Some of the objects have keys that are unique and some that seemingly have none. The best way to test this is to use the command line bulk loader (because the GUI import wizard can do both INSERT/UPDATE in one execution, you don't always see the problem).
I can run the same data over and over thru the command line loader with the option to INSERT and you don't get unique key constraints. For example, ASSET and CONTACT, and CUSTOM OBJECTS. Once you have verified whether the bulk loader is creating duplicates or not, that might drive you to the decision of using a webservice.
The FINANCIAL TRANSACTION object I believe has a unique index on the "External Unique Id" field and the FINANCIAL ACCOUNT object has a unique key on the "Name" field I believe.

Using different WSDLs for custom objects and making calls to APIs of multiple stubs is NOT a generic solution. The main purpose of generic solution is – least bother about the number of custom objects present in any OCOD instance and their WSDLs. I am a bit ready to take minor hit on performance and others.
Any suggestion? Idea?

Event Bubbling Custom Object not inheriting from control

One of the new things flash flex and xaml have are ways which
the event easily bubbles up to a parent that knows how to handle
the event. Similar to exceptions travel up until someone catches
it.
My goal is to use the frameworks event system on custom
objects. My custom objects are:
ApplicationConfiguration
through composition contains:
SecurityCollection which contains many or no SecurityElements
and
FileSystemCollection.cs which contains many or no
FileSystemElement objects
ect ect basically defining the following xml file with custom
objects.

basically these custom objects abstract the xml details of
accessing attributes, writing content out of the higher application
layers.
These custom objects hold the application configuration which
contains the users options. The gui application uses these
parameters across various windows forms, modal dialog boxes ect.
The gui has a modal dialog that allows the user to modify these
parameters during runtime.
basically i manage: load, store, new, edit, delete of these
configuration files using my custom objects.
Where would event propagation help in custom objects like

currently this logic is maintained else where. I serialize
the root node which compositely serializing the nested nodes and i
check of the serialization is different from that in the backend

like an event driven system.

I have a strong sensation that the OSMF project is quite dead.
no new submits since 2010, the contact form on the offical OSMF

returns a PHP error.
and many unanswered questions about OSMF in this forum.
i think it would be wise to not use OSMF if possible, although
I'm also stuck with it since we are utilizing HDS/PHDS
protocols which are utilized in the framework.
otherwise its quite a head-ache.
I'm unable to get to a video element coming from a proxied element
that is being produced via an HDS connection.
and haven't found any solution that works.

How can I disable a Custom Object Test?

I wonder if there is a way to disable a Custom Object Test. When I do a right click I don't see the option as in the other items under the frame node. I don't want to delete them because I may use them as reference in the future. So far I've been saving the file with a different name in order to preserve them, but, I don't want to have too many unused files around.

In order to disable a Custom Object Test right click on the Custom Object Test node and select "Script VBA Properties...". In the window that is opened uncheck "e-Tester" if you want to disable it when playing back in eTester for regression testing. The other two checkboxes are to disable the execution of the Custom Object Test when running the script in eLoad.

Using a Custom Object to allow an Entity to link to itself

Hey folks,
Have a feeling the answer to this is No, but have to ask anyway.
Is there any way that anyone is aware of to use a Custom Object to link an Entity to itself? For example... We have a CO (Custom Object) which is linked to Service Request. I want to link this CO to Service Request again, allowing one Service Request to be linked to another Service Request via the CO. I can obviously link Service Request to the CO, but the second link doesn't seem likely.

You can link multiple Service Requests to a single Custom Object (1-3) very easliy. Just expose SRs under related items on the Custom Object and adjust Access Profiles appropriately. Alternately, you can add Custom Objects to related items on the Service Request page layout so SRs can be linked to multiple COs.
In the end, you can end up with one CO linked to multiple SRs. This should give you what you are looking for - there may be more elaborate solutions involving multiple advanced custom objects.
The key, of course, is how you need this data to be viewed or reported on. You'll need to assess this solution to see if the output is what you require.

Help needed for translation of custom objects

We are currently in the process of upgrading from 11i to R12.1.3. We have a lot of custom reports and forms which needs to be translated based on language preference set at user level. The approach we have taken is as follows:
1. Created one unique look up type for each of the custom objects.
2. Each lookup code is mapped to a field of the custom object (report or form).
3. Entered the translation for each of the lookup codes using Globe icon (Translation Form) available on the lookup form.
4. When the user logs into his account, we are filterting out the record specific to user environment language using the condition:
language of fnd_lookup_values = usernev('lang') and getting the translated labels for each of the fields in the custom object.
Now what we would like to understand is if there is any other better way of doing translation based on user preferred language.
We have heard about Oracle Translation Manager (OTM) but not sure how the same can be used in our case. Also we would like to know how Oracle does translation for the languages that are enabled in a particular instance. We would like to know if a similar approach can be followed for custom objects as well.

ThanksWell, there was probably a gap in the communication. Hash maps (or hash tables, etc.) are instance of Map. Those are used to locate a value by its unique key. Generally, to speed up access, you implement a hashing function (this will be explained hopefully in class). Think of name-value pairs that are stored where the name is unique.
Contrast this with items that are sorted. Any List can be sorted because its elements are ordered. An ArrayList is ordered, generally, by the order you inserted the elements. However, any List can be given its own ordering via Comparable or Comparator. You can't do this with an ordinary Map. The purpose of a Map is speedy access to the name-value pairs, not sorting. The List likewise has different purposes, advantages, disadvantages, etc. List can be sorted.
A Map is generally similar to a Set. A Set is a vanilla collection that guarnatees uniqueness of each element (note, not name-value pairs, but simple elements). There is one concrete class of Map that can be sorted, TreeMap, but I doubt your professor was referring to that. The values or the keys can be returned from the Map and sorted separately, but again, I doubt he was referring to that.
Take a look at the Collections tutorial here on this site or Google one. It is fairly straightforward. Just keep in mind that things (generally) break down into Set, Map and List. There are combinations of these and different flavors (e.g., Queue, LinkedHashMap, etc.) But if you can learn how those three differ, you will go a long way towards understanding collections.
(Oh, and be sure to study up on iterators.)

"No bootable device" -- insert book disk and press any key

Hello, I am having a little problem with my new iMac. I search in google and I don't seem to get an answer...or maybe I just don't know which one I should do...
This is what happen. When I turn on my iMac it goes to a white screen, then to a black screen saying "No bootable device -- insert book disk and press any key" I can't press any key at all so I try restarting...same message goes.
Before this happen I did do one thing which I don't know if this is the cause of it. I change the trash can icon...how I did that is I went to...
Macintosh HD>System>Library>Core Services>Dock>Contents>Resources
I just replace the trash can image with the new one, same name as the old. It did change but then this black screen message start happening...
I search on google, some people say to hold alt-option key when you are in the white screen and then enter your drive from there. I did that and that is how I get to here to ask you guys...how can I get rid of that black screen?
Some people say you have to reinstall Windows 7 under Bootcamp or something...but I dont have Windows 7 in this iMac. I still did try going to Bootcamp and reinstall things but once I click continue, it said "To create a bootable USB drive for Windows 7 or later version installation, select the Windows ISO image, select a destination USB drive, and then click Continue." But I don't have a ISO image...
Anyway so that is why I need help, I don't know how I can get rid of the black screen so I don't have to always hold alt-option to get in to my computer.

Sounds like hardware problems, make appointment with Apple to have them check it out for you.

How to "save" custom objects in keynote

I've created custom art / objects in keynote that I'd like to reuse and quickly insert into presentations. Is there a way to "store" or "save" the custom artwork in my version of keynote for quick recall?

Problem in deleting the orders under Custom category.

        I am facing some problem in deleting the Orders which were created under custom category. In fact we are creating Intransits under Standard category "EI" as well as Custom Category "ZP". I am able to modify the intransits created under "EI" but when I tried to change or delete the orders created under Category "ZP", I am getting a messag triggered by BAPI as " Order can not be changed". atleast I need to delete the order if change is not possible. I am using the BAPI "BAPI_SLSRVAPS_CREATEINTRANS" to create intransits under "EI" and i am using the same BAPI with BADI implementation to "SAPAPO_DM_PO_CHANGE" to create intransits under "ZP". Based on the condition I am changing the am changing the category from EI to ZP in the BADI.
       I am able to change or delete the orders created under the EI but when I tried to change or delete the orders under ZP its giving me a message as Order can not be changed.
       One more thing is If I go to Tcode /SAPAPO/RLCDEL trying to delete all the orders based on category. I am able to see all the orders under created under EI. If I tried to delete the orders based on Custom category ZI it is giving me the message as "No Orders exists in Live cache". But I am able to see the orders in tcode "SAPAPO/RRP3".
       Can any one help me out in making this done. Please help me out in this.

           Here what I found is I found the record in OM19 transaction in the object "/SAPAPO/OM_ORDER_EXT_STR". But the interesting is its giving me the GUID as blank . there is empty value in that field. where as the program "/SAPAPO/OM_DELETE_INCON_ORDERS" is asking for the "order GUID".
         can you help me out in finding the order guid and deleting this order.

Question for making Report of Custom Object(01)

We use Custom Object 01 for Comment under the Calendar(Activity) Screen.
- Objective :
1. We want to manage Comment that are made by Manager after closing Sales Activity
2. But, we can't manage Comment history in Calendar(Activity) Details because it is remained Last Comment in Details
3. So, we use Custom Object 01 for Comment
- Problem & Question :
1. We can manage Comment history under Calendar(Activity) Screen
2. But, we can't make Report Comment Report related with Account, Contact
3. So, we want to know
a. Are there no relationship Custom Object 01(Comment) with Account, Contact in Calendar(Activity) Screen
b. If we have to make Comment Report related with Account, Contact, how to make it?

Your question is not clear. Do you want CO 1 to be related to Account, Contact and Activity? Or not? And what exactly is the reporting question?
Custom Object 1 is available for Real-Time reports. The Custom Object 1 subject area allows you to report on CO along with the related Accounts, Activities, Contacts, Leads, Opportunities, and Service Requests.
