Insert new boolean type column in jtable

how can i insert new boolean type column or columns in jtable while my program is runing?
thanks for your answers...

Save your dukes and see the code I posted at http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=17&thread=548443&tstart=0&trange=15
You need the underlying 2d data array be dynamic. I chose Vectors.

  • Insert new line type at ctrl break in Smartforms

    Hi Guys
    I am developing a timesheet in smartforms.
    In the Smartform my table contains data for two weeks, but I need to bifurcate it on a weekly basis. So when the form starts I print e.g Weekly record:- 01.01.08 to 01.07.08
    Now I want that as soon as the control reaches 01.08.08 A new line type should get inserted saying
                  Weekly record:- 01.08.08 to 01.14.08
    Please guide me how this can be done.
    Thanks a lot.

    Create your internal table in such a way that it contains the data as per your printing requirement.
    E.g.
    01.01.08   01.07.08    XXX.XX   123.45
    01.08.08   01.14.08    XXX.XX   123.45
    Now, if your smartform just create a table node under the MAIN window and prints this values.

  • Problem with boolean type in Informix via ODBC

    Hello,
    I'm connecting to an Informix database from an Oracle database via the ODBC Gateway. The connection works fine.
    However, when I select a boolean type column from a table in the Informix database, nothing is returned and I get the following error:
    SQL> select "stat" from bt@informix;
    ERROR:
    ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this message:

    {07006,NativeErr = -11013}
    ORA-02063: preceding 2 lines from INFORMIX

    Selecting a boolean type column with isql works fine. Other column types work from Oracle.
    Can anyone help me resolve this issue? Please find configuration details and traces below.

    Here are my findings after consulting the unixODBC mailing list and the IBM documentation.
    There are several levels of data types at play here: native Informix SQL types, Informix ODBC driver SQL types and Informix ODBC driver C types (as well as standard C types).
    According to the Informix documentation (http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSGU8G_11.70.0/com.ibm.odbc.doc/ids_odbc_108.htm), the ODBC driver SQL type for the native boolean type is SQL_BIT.
    The traces show that the ODBC SQL type is SQL_BIT (type code -7) and that this should be converted into the SQL_C_UTINYINT ODBC C type (type code -28).

    Oracle tries to bind the SQL_BIT type column to a buffer of SQL_C_UTINYINT type, which requires a conversion from SQL_BIT to SQL_C_UTINYINT  that is apparently not supported by the Informix ODBC Driver.
    According to the documentation (http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSGU8G_11.70.0/com.ibm.odbc.doc/ids_odbc_108.htm) the Informix ODBC driver can only convert the SQL_BIT ODBC SQL type into SQL_C_BINARY, SQL_C_BIT and SQL_C_CHAR ODBC C types. (The ODBC C types are in turn converted into standard C types, for example the SQL_C_BIT type is converted into UCHAR which is a typedef for the standard C type unsigned char.)
    A possible workaround could be to tell Informix to present boolean as a different ODBC SQL type, for example SQL_CHAR (as it would be possible with PostgreSQL by setting BoolAsCharater=1 in odbc.ini), but Informix only seems to supports the SQL_BIT ODBC SQL type.
    A cumbersome workaround is to use the Gateway's pass-through feature that allows a query to be passed to Informix as is, which in turn allows us to cast the boolean field into a character field:
    SQL> set serveroutput on
    SQL> r
      1  DECLARE
      2    val  VARCHAR2(1);
      3    c    INTEGER;
      4    nr  INTEGER;
      5  BEGIN
      6    c := DBMS_HS_PASSTHROUGH.OPEN_CURSOR@informix;
      7    DBMS_HS_PASSTHROUGH.PARSE@informix(c,'select cast (stat as character) from bt');
      8    LOOP
      9    nr := DBMS_HS_PASSTHROUGH.FETCH_ROW@informix(c);
    10    EXIT WHEN nr = 0;
    11    DBMS_HS_PASSTHROUGH.GET_VALUE@informix(c, 1, val);
    12    DBMS_OUTPUT.PUT_LINE(val);
    13    END LOOP;
    14    DBMS_HS_PASSTHROUGH.CLOSE_CURSOR@informix(c);
    15  END;
    16*

  • Insert new pricing Step

    Dear Members,
    I want to insert new condition type between 2  steps but unfortunately, I don;t have any number in between these 2. what is the alternative ?
    I have step 310 and step 311, Now I want to include a condition type between these 2 steps. Please let me know.
    Thank u.
    madhu

    Hi Madhu
    In pricing procedure we have a step Counter , so maintain those condition types in counter only
    So as you have step 310 go to new entries ->maintain step 310 counter 1 and maintain condition type and step 310 counter 2 and maintain 2nd condition type then those condition types will be between 310 and 311 steps only

Right now it's not removing the rows and instead throwing exceptions. The code is attached. The methods to look are upDateTabel(...) and clearTableData(....), after clearing all my rows then I proceed on adding my data to the Jtable and inserting rows but it's not being done. May be I have a problem in my DefaultTableModel class. Please see the code below what I am doing wrong and how should I do it. Any help is appreciated.

    The following code works fine but it doesn't show me the new updated date in my JTable. I tried to print the values that I am getting and it does give the values on the prompt but doesn't show me on the JTable only first two are shown and the rest of the table is filled with the same values. I don't know what's going on and am tired of this TableModel thing so pla. take a time to give me some suggestions. Thanks

  • Working with Boolean Column in jTable

    I have generated a jTable on runtime. I have created an object of DefaultTableModel and used it to create the jTable.
    DefaultTableModel model = (new DefaultTableModel(
    new Object[][]{},
    new String[]{
    "SELECT", "SERVER"
    Class[] types = new Class[]{
    java.lang.Boolean.class, java.lang.Object.class
    boolean[] canEdit = new boolean [] {
    true, false
    public Class getColumnClass(int columnIndex) {
    return types[columnIndex];
    public boolean isCellEditable(int rowIndex, int columnIndex) {
    return canEdit [columnIndex];
    jTable table = new jTable(model);
    This creates a table with two columns. First one is a Boolean and the second one is a String. Boolean by default appears as check boxes. The first column is editable and the second is not.
    My problem is:
    I want to call some method when any of these checkboxes are selected.
    Hope to find some help very soon. Its a little urgent.
    Thanks in advance.

    Try writing your own cell renderer and editor.

  • ODI - SCD Type 2 - Insert new row error

    Hi All,
    For Dimension I have a surrogate key, a natural key, and a column with "overwrite on change", start_date, end_date, current_record_ind. When I run the interface with the default SCD Type 2 for SQl server, this runs fine. But when I change that one column from "overwrite on change" to "insert new row", it fails on the update step. What should I be looking for anf fixing.
    Thanks for your time and help.

    DB: SQL Server 2008.
    IKM = IKM MSSQL Slowly Changing Dimension
    Error Message: ODI-1228 - Incorrect syntax near the keyword from.
    Code: update T
    set
    from database.dbo.Dim_type as T,
    database.dbo.I$_Dim_type as S
    where T.Cd = S.Cd
    and T.Current_rec_ind = 1
    and IND_UPDATE = 'U'
    To overcome the issue, I have commented the update code in the Knowledge module and the insert works, but for this one it is ok, but I have requirements where one column needs to be overwritten and other column changes will require to add a new record. How to handle both?
    Thanks for your time.

  • Refresh jTable after inserting new data into the Database

    Hey all,
    I'm using Netbeans 6.5 to create a Desktop Application which is connected to a Java DB (Derby).
    The first simple steps were all very successfull:
    Create the jTable and bind it to the Database => everything works fine. When the application starts it correctly shows all data from the database.
    The problem starts when I try to insert new data to the database.
    For that reason I've created textfields and a button "Save". When I press the button it successfully inserts the data to the database but they are not displayed in the jTable (when the application starts they are all there, they are not updated at runtime) . I've tried table.invalidate() and table.repaint() but they just don't work.
    Any help will be GREATLY appreciated. But please have in mind that most of the code is Netbeans-generated and most of it not editable.
    Many thanks in advance.
    George

    Once again you are right my friend. I jumped to conclusion way too fast, when I shouldn't. (Give me a break, I've been busting my head with this well over a week). The response I saw when I did that was that indeed a line is added to the jTable. Because I falsly set the index of the object to be added to be second to last the row appeared on the table, what I didn't see at the time was that the last one disappeared. Hmm...
    A new adventure begins...
    So after a few hours of messing around with it here are my observations:
    1) It was not an observable list. When I add the new element with employeesList.add(newEmp); , the table gets notified but a get a bunch of exceptions:

    ... and a lot morewhich from my poor understanding means that the jTable succesfully notices the change but it is not able (??) to adjust to the new change. What is more interesting is that when I plainly add the element to the end of the list (without an idex that is), a blank row appears at the end of my Table. The weird thing is that I've bound the table to some text fields below it, and when I select that empty row all the data appear correctly to the text fields.
    I tried going through:
                    org.jdesktop.observablecollections.ObservableCollections.observableList(employeesList).add(newEmp);as well as
                    help = org.jdesktop.observablecollections.ObservableCollections.observableListHelper(employeesList);
                    help.getObservableList().add(newEmp);
                    help.fireElementChanged(employeesList.lastIndexOf(newEmp));and
                    obsemployeesList = org.jdesktop.observablecollections.ObservableCollections.observableList(employeesList);
                    obsemployeesList.add(newEmp);and I still get the same results (both the exeptions and the mysterious empty row at the end of the table
    So, I'm again in terrible need of your advice. I can't thank you enough for the effort you put into this.
    Best regards,
    George

  • How to insert data in a column with uniqueidefier data type

    Guys,
    I need insert data in a column with uniqueidefier data type, when i am trying to that getting error.
    error message says: "Conversion failed when converting from a character string to uniqueidentifier."
    I have data in table a col1,col2,col3,col4 - col3,col4 has datatype as varchar and i am updating table b columns col1,col2 with table a col3 and col4.
    Please guide how to do it.

    Hi,
    Not any String can be convert to uniqueidentifier.
    1. you have to make sure u use a value which is fir to be uniqueidentifier
    2. Use convert or cast in the insert query in order to convert the string into uniqueidentifier
    insert X ... convert(uniqueidentifier, 'string which fit to be convert to uniqueidentifier')
    Please post DDL+DML for more specific help
    DDL = Data Definition Language. In our case that is, CREATE TABLE statements for your tables and other definitions that are needed to understand your tables structure and there for let us to test and reproduce the problem in our server. Without DDL no one
    can execute any query.
    How to get DDL: Right click on the table in Object Explorer and select script table as CREATE. Post these create table scripts here.
    DML = data manipulation language is a family of queries used for manipulating the data it self like: inserting, deleting and updating data. In our case we need some sample data in order to check the query and get result, so we need some indert query for
    sample data.
    If you post a "create query" for the tables and "insert query" with some sample, then we could help you without Assuming/Guessing. There is a reason that DDL is generally asked for and expected when discussing query problems - it helps
    to identify issues, clarify terminology and prevent incorrect assumptions.  Sample data also provides a common point of reference for the discussion. A script that can be used to illustrate or reproduce the issue you have, will encourage others to help.

  • Workflow Status column for new content type

    Hi,
    Initially I had a document library and several workflows associated with it. After that I created a new content type inheriting Folder content type. My existing workflows could be started and work fine with any item of this new content type except anything
    related to the workflow status column, such as "Automatically update workflow status to the current stage name", or workflow action "Set workflow status". If I use the OOTB Folder content type, everything's fine. But I need custom fields
    for folder as well.
    The workflows can be started then it seems unreasonable that they are not associated with the items of the new content type, considering I set my new content type to be the child of the existing Folder content type. So why any item under this new content
    type does not have the workflow status column? I've tried removing the workflow from the list and publishing back using SPD without success.
    I also notice that when you associate a new content type to a document library/list which has some custom columns, you cannot edit those columns to be used in the new content type. You need to delete those columns and recreate them, then the option "Add
    to all content types" is there. Is this expected design?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    According to your post, an error occurred when you created a custom Edit form for new content type.
    We can do as follows:
    1.Add the MyNameSpace.MyNewEditPage dll file into GAC(C:\Windows\assembly).
    2. Execute the iisreset command.
    We can create a new content type using visual studio 2012/2013.

  • How to insert in long data type column

    I would like to know how could I insert data in a long data type column.
    Thanks

    Don't use LONG, use CLOB instead. You can write to CLOBs using the DBMS_LOB package.

  • Insert new user column in pick and pack manager window

    Hi all,
    Exist a way to insert new column in pick and pack manager window?
    I try  by code too but i can´t. Is possible to do this?
    Thank you all again.
    Regards.

    Hi Aitor,
    Unfortunately, I don't think it is possible to add columns to this particular window. I had a requirement to do this a while back in SBO 2005A SP1 and I ended up designing my own pick and pack window.
    Kind Regards,
    Owen

  • Option + arrow keys suddenly inserts new columns

    This happens frequently when I work in Numbers.
    When I shall edit text in a cell, option + > and option + < all of a sudden cease to work. Instead of jumping to next or previous word, a new column is inserted.
    I don't know what causes it. I haven't found another solution than closing the document and reopen it.
    Fred

    I always edit text directly in cells and option + arrow keys normally jump to next or previous word.
    Yes they are greyed out for me too.
    I just noticed that if I by mistake press Cmd + return (instead of option + return) when I want to edit, it causes option + arrow keys to insert new columns. I can revert to normal by placing the cursor in the formula bar and using option + arrows. After that option + arrow keys jump to next or previous word also when I edit directly in cells.
    Thanks for telling about using the formula bar. Now I don't have to close and reopen the document.
