Insert of Images too slow

Question

I created a form which is using Intermedia (ORDIMAGE) to store images. When I insert a TIFF image that is 4M it takes 60 - 90 seconds to store the image and create a thumbnail.
How do I fix this problem?

IMAGE_ID NOT NULL NUMBER

I used a button to insert the image and update the record with the thumbnail:
