Inserted Animation Transition Issue

I'm starting a project for a large client who want a specific
look and feel to the project:
Logo at top of each slide.
Persistent border on left with step by step instructions and
Show Me / Try Me buttons.
I found some good information about creating a parent project
that has the final project size, then create all simulations and
demos in a different project and publish as a SWF. Insert SWFs into
parent project as an animation.
Okay, this looks pretty good, but here's the problem: the
animation fades in and out. I created the animation with no
transitions, changed the project preferences to to NOT fade in and
out on first/last slide, and to display for the duration of the
slide. Any idea how to fix this so the animation just displays. Is
this a good strategy?

I am new to Adobe Captivate and had the same issues within a quite basic project. The before and after the recorded animation there was a white screen. I followed the steps recommended in this discussion, but they did not help. What I then did is that I expanded the time of the animation and additionally I switched of the compression for publishing. Now it works fine for the published project. If I preview within the project, the screen is still there.
As I am a (very) beginner, I have to admit, that I do not exactely knew why it works now, but it works.

Disable animations/transitions globally in Firefox

Just thought I'd share the solution I've finally found to this problem.
Basically I was looking for a way to disable all fancy animations/transitions that happen whenever you hover over a button, tab etc. in Firefox. I'm using a theme that uses these transitions heavily and it just slows down the general browsing experience.
One annoying transition that I've been wanting to get rid of is when you try to move a tab around (changing the order of tabs). The transitions make this quite cumbersome due to the lag the transitions bring with them. I do this quite frequently due to using Tree Style Tab, having a vertical tree of tabs. I found several threads describing this issue, one of which was archived: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/802516
Anyways, the solution I've found to be working is to use Stylish (FF addon), and to create a User style with the following code:

If you only want to disable the tab move transition, you could probably track down the css file in the theme and the code in there that is responsible for that particular transition.
This works for me on Firefox 29.

Insert animated gif or flash files (.swf) in Form?

How can i insert animated gif or flash files (.swf) or another type of animated files in Form?

If you are web deployed you can put an animated gif as the image to an iconic button.
Image items cannot display animated gifs.
Anything else you can do through a JavaBean if you need to.

IPhone 4 animation/transition lag

When I unlock my iPhone or sometimes when I open or close apps, animation sometimes lags.
I've started noticing it more and more and I'm a little worried.
I know it's not a big deal, and it's just a visual animation of opening and closing apps, but I wonder if it's happening to you guys to, and why does it happen?

And i thought it only happened to me. I've tried a couple of my friend's iPhone 4 and 3/10 of my friends experienced this animation/transition lag. I am fully aware of your problem and i'm experiencing it as well. Doing a hard reboot did solve the problem for a couple of minutes but the problem still persists. I'm currently running the latest iOS on my iPhone. I already called apple and they said that it is a software problem. I hope that this problem will get fixed soon.
Edit: When opening an app, particularly the app store, there is a slight "Blackout", usually lasting for miliseconds, before opening up the app. My iPhone is only 3 months old and it's experiencing problems..

Help Finding an Animated Transition

Does anyone know where I can find an animated transition or a photo album opening and transitioning in to a picture. I've seen one where the first page of the book zooms in to a photo, but I cannot remember where I saw it. I've got a deadline and the client really wants something like this. Thanks

Inserting of transitions & text doesn't work !!

I made my first iMovie film, reading very carefully the Help and Manual files.
Up to now two things won't work !!! Inserting transitions or text in between the fragments doesn't work. I can select the transitions and text icons but when I draw them to paste, they won't fit or drop in the space between the fragments. Also the automatic insert of transitions doesn't work. The icon which should appear between the fragments doesn't work.
Please Help !

When you say "fragments" here, how long of a clip are you referring to as a fragment? Since most effects, transitions, and titles normally create an overlap of the preceding and succeeding segments, these segments or "fragments" do have a minimum length limitation for the insertion to take effect.

Insert random transitions between photo's

im making a dvd with a few hundred photo's. Is there a way to insert random transitions between the photo's? i dont want to have all the same transitions between the photo's, just evey time a different one.

Like Lennart, I'm not a big fan of random transitions. But if you like them you may want to explore iPhoto, which offers that feature for slideshows as well as random Ken Burns Effects (which often turn out quite nice).
Remember, it's possible to export an iPhoto slideshow that you import to iMovie.

Cp2025n color laserjet manual duplexing side two portrait & landscape transition issue

I regularly print the same documents. Each document has a portrait section, a landscape section, a portrait section then a landscape section, then a portrait section. I manually duplex the job (because I did not buy a duplexer and I am saving trees).
On the first side of the page, everything works great... job runs straight through the printer then I am prompted to insert the half printed pages into tray 1 and push OK on the printer. The first portrait section is printed. The printer stops on the first landscape page and prompts me to load paper into tray 1 (even though it is already there) and push OK again, I do so, and it proceeds till the job switches to portrait mode, prompts me to load paper into tray 1 (even though it is already there) and push OK again, I do so, and it proceeds till the job switches to landscape mode, etc... making me babysit the printer as it prints the second side of each job.
I have multiple different print jobs with the similar layout... portrait, landscape, portrait, landscape, and finishing with portrait. All of them behave the same. The number of pages in the portrait section and landscape section vary by job and within job. The prompt from the printer is always at the transition point between portrait & landscape mode. The printer only stops when printing side two of the page.
I believe I am running the most current drivers and software on my PC for the printer. The update task runs regularly and is not informing me that there is new software available. The only indication of what firmware is running on the printer is this info
Firmware Datecode: 20100512
This strikes me as a printer driver issue... Anybody got any other ideas? Anybody noticed this same issue? Can someone from HP test this out for themselves and verify there is a problem? I have tried searching the forums but every post I have found so far is not on point.

How to insert animations in Wordpress?

Hi,
I used to insert Edge Animate animations in WP via Edge Suite, as explained on:

With the latest Edge Animate updates, Edge Suite cannot load OAM files anymore and prompts the "Cannot find main JS edge file /...edgePreload.js.." message.
Is there any alternatives?

If you use an older version of Edge Animate (still available for download) you can still work with Edge Suite. The plugin needs an update as vivekuma said.
Otherwise, there's a good explanation here on how to insert it manually. Basically, you need to upload the files from the publish folder, previously updating the paths to your new location.
I'm attempting the same and have successfuly uploaded the animation to Wordpress, though in my case I'm having some javascript issues as detailed here.

i have two issues/questions here...
sometimes when i apply a transition to the project, i get a warning message indicating 'frames were dropped'. sometimes when i try a different transition i don't get the message but at other times i do. my question: should i keep trying different transitions until i don't get the message or will this be a problem when i try to burn the project to a disc?
#2 - sometimes when i apply a transition in the timeline, it's really small (thin?). that is, it's not the same size as others in the timeline that i've already put in there. why i let it play to see what it looks like, the transition appears but for only a brief period of time. why does this happen? it's not that big a deal, i can eventually insert one that isn't like this but i AM curious about this.

i'm in china... some sites are blocked!!
otherwise, i just remembered something. when i get this 'warning', it's about frames that have been dropped. it offers some suggestions when that box appears that i never tried (duh). i have just been trying a different transition to see if it will apply - mostly because i didn't understand what the suggestions were saying!! this project is finished so i'll come back if this occurs on my next project.

Crashing when trying to insert animations

For some reason captivate crashes about half the time I try to insert a gif animation. Does anyone know how to fix this or work around this?

Sorry, but my telepathy skills aren't up to par and my crystal ball appears to be out of service, so I'm unable to deduce the version of Captivate you may be using.
I do recall an older version of Captivate having an issue such as what you are reporting. But nothing in recent versions. Then again, every passing day seems to reveal oddness, so who knows?

Animated .GIF Issue Need Help

I made an animated gif with a transparent background, saved it for the web with the best quality settings I know of, and the image gets this weird white outline around it. Here's what it looks like on grey background so you can actually see the issue I'm having: http://imgur.com/ujKBJDu
at first I thought it was an anti alias issue with my crappy laptop, but then when I exported it on a high end gaming pc it looked exactly the same. Anyway I need to export this and not end up with this issue so any help is appreciated.

When it comes to gif, there is no anti-aliasing. As the transparency has only one shade of grey. The white line is residual from a white background.

IE 8 Animated Gif Issue

I've run into an interesting problem and wonder if anyone has an answer for me. I have created an animted gif of a banner ad in photoshop with 3 frames. The banner has been previewed in FF, Safari, and IE 8. For some reason in the IE 8 version the text in the animation seem to be carrying over into the next frame. Almost as if the 1st frame is being ghosted/artifacts into the second frame and so on.
This banner also has been modified to different size and these all work correctly in IE 8 and do not have this ghosting issue. Im trying to figure out if its something I may have changed in Photoshop or its an IE 8 issue. Does anyone else see this issue in IE 8. I can't seem to find a solution.
If anyone has IE 8 can you let me know if you see the same results?

This being the Photoshop Macintosh forum, I doubt many users here have IE8, which does not exist for the Mac as far as I know.

Inserting Animation into a Cap 2 project

When I insert an animation into a slide the background color
changes, i.e white background changes to black . . . any ideas why
and how I can prevent this from happening?

When I was inserting .swf files into my slides, it would
generate a thumbnail that would look like the first frame of the
slide. Is it possible that it is just the animation thumbnail being
displayed and not changing the background color?

Wallaby animation display issues in Internet Explorer

I've noticed another issue with my Wallaby animation in Internet Explorer. They seem to look and animate okay in Google Chrome and Apple Safari, but in Explorer, they don't. Try pulling the page below up in the different browsers. I'm running Internet Explorer version 9.

Per the release notes, Wallaby output is only compatible on Chrome and Safari since it requires webkit.
