Inserting a Form Troubles

I am using Dreamweaver 8 and I cannot get the form to work for me. I created the new page, I created the confirmation page and webform.txt file in notepad and uploaded them all to the site. I linked my submit button to my confirmation page, so that works wonderfully, but the email never comes through. So, if anyone fills this out, they think it has gone through because they get to a confirmation page, but the email fails to ever appear in my inbox. I don't know how to link my webform so that it automaticlly sends an email to an email address.
This is my practice page: http://www.kennesaw.edu/historymuseum/practiceform.shtml. I would very much appreciate any help possible.
Thank you in advance!
Robyn

The HTML source code of your page reveals that the "webform.txt" file sits in the /cgi-bin/cgiemail/project/ directory and hence is supposed to be a CGI script.
I´m not very familiar with CGI stuff and you didn´t yet post the "webform.txt" code, so right now it´s impossible to say why things don´t work for you.

  • Inserting Fillable forms into PDFs converted from word

    I need some help with inserting a fillable form I created in Live Cycle.  When I go to insert the form into a file that was originally created in word and saved as a PDF,I receive a message (see below)
    I need to be able to find a way to insert the fillable form to the end of a regular PDF, without losing the capabilities of the form, including a submit by email button, which I tried both as the Email submit button and the regular button, formatted to submit a email in response.
    I don't know if there is some settings or preferences that I can change to be able to insert the form, but I need it to be one document.I know that this is not impossible, as I have seen other documents in this formatting, I just cant seem to be able to get it.

  • How to insert Adobe Form Data in the SAP backend?

    Hi there,
    I am very new to Adobe Forms. I am supposed to come up with a working scenario of inserting few form fields into the SAP backend. Is this done through a BAPI call? Or is there any other way for this to achieve?
    I have downloaded trial version of Adobe LifeCycle Designer. But I don't know how to integrate this with the SAP system. Is there anything else that I need to install in my system?
    Is there a document on how to configure all the installations for both local machine and the server (if any)?
    Please help.....
    [I went through the forum for this, but I did not get anything]
    Warm regards,
    Deepak

    hi,
    in the livecycle designer under libary tab u have webdynpro tab--->choose submit to sap button and place it in the adobe form ur designing. u can use this button to trigger the code that u have written in webdynpro java.
    for eg if u have
    a value node details
    and under that two value attr fname,lname
    import the model (Insertdata---it has two import param fname and lname)u need for updating the data to r3 system.
    in the ctrller have a method submit.Here write the code to insert fname and lname into the db.
    IPrivateMyForm.IDetailsElement elem = wdContext.nodeDetails().currentDetailsElement();
    Insertdata_Input input = new Insertdata_Input();
    wdContext.nodeInsertdata_Input().bind(input);
    input.setFname(elem.getFname());
    input.setLname(elem.getLname());
    try
    wdContext.currentInsertdata_InputElement().modelObject().execute();
    wdContext.nodeOutput().invalidate();
    catch (Exception ex)
    { ex.printStackTrace();}
    ul bind details to the datasource.
    when u edit ur interactive ui element these attr(fname and lname) vl be visible under dataview tab u can drag and drop them to the form
    now add submit to sap button in ur form.
    this button correspond to the onactionSubmit dat u have written in the ctrller.

  • Weird Radio button issue on Insert/Update form

    I recently installed Dreamweaver CS4 and am having a heck of a time with radio buttons on my Dynamic Insert/Update form.
    For some reason, when I update a record, the radio button I had previously selected, is NOT checked.  However, the value is in the mySQL db.
    I've tried this in several different folders, thinking there was a conflict (css, js or whatever) but have had the same issue every time.  I even updated my DDT includes folder but still no luck.
    Has anyone had an issue like this with Dreamweaver CS4 and know how to solve it?
    Also, I should probably add the Dreamweaver CS4 has crashed at least 3 times per day since I installed it less then a week ago.  My computer easily meets the required specs (3.39GHz, 2GB RAM, 75GB HardDrive).   Something is obviously wrong.  Whether its my computer or CS4, I'm not sure.
    Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks!

    OK, I've figured out what the issue is but not why.
    See the code below.  For some reason, where it should be {echo "checked";} its {echo "@@checked@@";}
    Anyone else run into this situation?

  • Inserting text form a textfile into a JtextArea

    Hi,
    Im trying to insert text form a textfile into a JtextArea ex the textFile is called Words.txt
    JTextArea ta  = new JTextArea();
    ta.insert("Words.txt", 0);what im getting in the textarea is Words.txt and not the text in it.
    So what shall i do to place the text in the textarea??
    Matt

    Shall i pass the the name of the file ??Not sure where you would get that idea as a String is, well, a String and NOT a Reader.
    Did you read the javadoc for Reader? Well, luckily I did and one type of Reader is a FileReader, which, amazingly enough, reads characters from a file. So, when you give the JTextArea (a type of JTextComponent) the Reader, it will read characters until its done, inserting them into its Document. Putting this all together, you get:
    // yes, finally the string you pass refers to a file name
    textArea.read(new FileReader("Words.text"),null);

  • Help with the insert table/form tool in BIP 10.1.3.2.1

    Hi, I'm trying to use the insert table/form tool in BIP, and running into some issues that I don't understand. First off, my data coming in looks like this (left column of tool):
    Rowset
    --- Row
    ------ Customer ID
    ------ Customer Name
    ------ Customer City
    ------ Product
    ------ Amount Sold
    I would like the output to do the following:
    a) have one page per customer. Customer should be determined by customer ID, and has attributes of customer ID, customer Name, Customer City
    b) Show a table of all products and the total Amount Sold by product for that customer
    c) Give a "grand total" for the customer
    Can someone help with the steps needed to do this? I've tried several variations of the following without much luck:
    1) Added Rowset and all children to the "Template" pane
    2) Clicked on the "Row" group, and set Grouping = Customer ID, with a break of "New page per Element"
    3) Clicked on the newly created (from step 2) Cust ID group, and set it to group by Product
    4) Moved "amount sold" to be at same level as Product
    5) Moved all of the customer attributes (name, address, etc.) to be at same level as Cust ID
    6) On the Cust ID level, set the style to table
    7) on row and rowset levels, set style to free form
    This seems to be VERY close, except that it isn't creating a total amount for the sum of all products purchased by a customer. What do I need to do inside the tool to get a total per customer to show up?
    Thanks in advance!
    Scott
    p.s. the final hierarchy in the template window looks like this:
    Rowset (style = freeform, no grouping/sort by/breaks)
    --- Row (style = freeform, group by customer ID, break new page per element)
    ------ Customer ID (style = table, group by product, no breaks)
    --------- Product (nothing special)
    --------- Amount Sold (calc for grouping = SUM)
    ------ Customer Name (nothing special)
    ------ Customer City (nothing special)
    Thanks very much for the help!
    Scott

    To anyone else who sees this post, the answer is to do the following. Insert the Amount Sold field using the "Insert Field" tool, and set the function to sum, with the grouping checkbox turned on.
    Thanks,
    Scott

  • Insert Only Forms with custom Page Lifecycle class

    I discovered a bug/inconsistency in the JHS Generator:
    The business case (translated to the HR schema) is
    We have an Insert Only form for creating new Departments. (Group name: DepartmentsEntry)
    When the user saves a new Department, we want to forward them
    using the Faces Navigation Handler to the group named "Departments".
    The implementation we used:
    - Create a custom class which extends oracle.jheadstart.controller.jsf.lifecycle.JhsPageLifecycle.
    This class overrides the onCommit method: if there are errors we stay on this page,
    otherwise we redirect the user.
    - Specify this classname in the Page Lifecycle Class property (under "Customization Settings") within the Application Definition Editor.
    When we then try to run the page, the Insert-Only form does not work as expected;
    The user has to click on the "New Department" button first.
    I see that the specified classname occurs in the ControllerClass property of
    the Page Definition file DepartmentsEntryPageDef.xml file.
    The way I solved the problem was to create a custom groupFacesConfig.vm template
    which specifies the managed-bean-class property of the ${JHS.current.group.name}PageLifecycle managed bean.
    This then solves the problem - the InsertOnly form works as expected.
    This is not as I would expect the "Page Lifecycle Class" property to be used.
    In my opinion the "Page Lifecycle Class" property should also be used in the default groupdFacesConfig.vm template and not only in the Page Definition file.
    Is this behaviour expected?

    Cliff,
    You are right, this is a bug that has been fixed for the upcoming 10.1.3.2 release.

  • Inserting a form into portal

    What do I need to do to insert a form I build in forms developer into my portal? Please go step by step. Thanks a lot!!

    1. Enable Forms SSO in the forms90/server/forms90.conf file
    (Uncomment the SSO directives available at last)
    Create Resource access configuration for the User also.
    2. In the Portals create an URL Item pointing to the Form you wanna deploy.
    3. Add the URL item portlet into the Portal page.

  • Direct Path Insert on Forms

    Hi,
    I am using following insert statement on my forms application to do direct path insert.
    insert into /*+append*/ abc select * from xyz;
    as redo is not generated if you do direct path insert but in above case redo is generating for the above insert statement.
    I then created a procedure test_insert as below
    create procedure test_insert is
    begin
    insert into /*+append*/ abc select * from xyz;
    end;
    i then replaced the insert statement with above procedure on form and after that redo for the insert statement stopped.
    i was wondering if we could use append hint for direct path insert on forms?

    My point, though, is that if you're doing your hourly load into a separate table and building the index(es) on that table before moving the partition into the partitioned table, there is no risk of doing anything to screw up the partitioned table. It's also a very handy way to ensure that your load process doesn't interfere with your production data.
    If i have understood your point right, what about the space required ( tablespaces and the indexes). Trust me, my table at source gets populated @ over 230 MIL records /day. If i have a temp table, i will have to maintain hourly partitions/indexes/tablespaces for the temp table to hold so much data, isn't it? And, the data i move (say today's data) will be used by the user only after 4 days (because it is available in the source). We have provisioned our user interface to connect to 2 databases, one with 5 days of data (incl. sysdate) and the other one is a archive DB that holds 45 days worth of data.
    </>
    I wouldn't expect that a direct path load into a single partition of a partitioned table would invalidate local indexes on other partitions, but since I'd never do a direct path load into a single partition of a partitioned table, I've not tested this to make sure.
    No problem, if i try this out i will share it in the forum. </>Thanks

  • Validate 2 E-mail address fields in insert record form

    Hello,
    I have used the Insert Record Form Wizard to create a form, including using the Validate Form Server Behavior to validate many fields.
    I can't figure out how to compare & validate 2 E-mail address fields.
    After the form was created I opened the existing Validate Form Server Behavior - Advanced tab and built the condition {sub_email2} != {sub_email} but this had no affect on submitting the form.
    The other thing I tried was creating a new Compare Transaction Field behavior with the same condition {sub_email2} != {sub_email}, this also seemed to have no affect.
    I am just a beginner, so I admit to not really knowing what I'm doing, for me ADDT has been a great aid.
    The other thing I noticed, when I tried both the items above, besides not affecting being able to submit the form with different E-mail addresses. The red asterisks indicating a required field, would disappear.
    Here is the form http://www.oescahealthregistry.org/forms/pedigree_submission.php this version of the form does NOT include either of my attempts to validate the E-mail fields.
    Thanks in advance for your help.
    Dennis

    Hi,
    A compare statement should work fine. As an example I made small form that inserts name and email (2 fields) using Insert record wizard.
    Name field is required, email field is required and checks that its a valid email structure ([email protected]). I then finish the wizard.
    <input type="text" name="email" id="email" value="<?php echo KT_escapeAttribute($row_rsemail['email']); ?>" size="32" />
    <?php echo $tNGs->displayFieldHint("email");?> <?php echo $tNGs->displayFieldError("email", "email"); ?>
    I then add the extra field to the form that the 2nd email will be entered into, this one I called email2, I then copied the display hint and fielderror code from the first email and placed it behind the 2nd email box and changed the text to reflect email2. Which probably doesnt matter but I put it there anyway.
    <input name="email2" type="text" id="email2" size="32" />
    <?php echo $tNGs->displayFieldHint("email2");?> <?php echo $tNGs->displayFieldError("email2", "email2"); ?>
    Now that I have both email fields in the form, I go to the developer tools under server behavior and select compare transactions fields under form validation.
    I hit the + to add a field I then choose email for field, then == for condition, then {POST.email2} for compare to. I enter in an error message and hit ok.
    Thats it the form is ready.
    The first email field will check against email validation and the 2nd email will check against the first email.
    I hope that helps.
    Take note that the database actually only has 2 fields to enter data. Then 2nd email field is only for validation.

  • How to set value on MRU insert Tabular Form

    This post refers to the forum article found How to set value on MRU insert Tabular Form
    I have included the problem and proposed solution below. My problem follows
    Problem
    Hi,
    I am using a Tabular Form. I used the wizard and it created all of the items (Cancel, Submit, Add, Multidelete buttons, etc.). I have a table that is like an FK table. For instance, we could have a customer table, and then a customer address table. Each customer could have multiple addresses. In the address table, the first ID column is the customer ID. So in using the tabular form for the addresses, I need to make the first column the same when I insert. But when I choose add row, everything works fine except it tries to insert a null into customer id. The uniqueness of the row is determined by customer ID and address string.
    Any time I make it to this screen, all new rows will have the same ID with I have in a variable that I can reference from the page called :P0_ITM_CUST_ID.
    How do I set the first value for all inserts? My guess is I need to do this in Computations. I'm also guessing I need to do this with a replace statement. I'm just not sure how to reference the first column of the new row.
    Thanks!
    Tim
    Solution
    The way to do this is by using the "Default" value for that Column. Go to
    Home>Application Builder>Application xxx>Page yyy>Report Attributes>Column Attributes
    Set the default value for newly added rows as in
    http://img237.imageshack.us/img237/5758/screenshot012di2.jpg
    Hope this helps.
    Un-resolved problem
    have also tried to do this but the fields I see are not the same.
    Please see screenshot=http://krisjones.freewebspace.com/apex.JPG
    I am using the Oracle hosted environment, so 2.2.1.
    To my knowledge I have done the same as the user in the first post. Am I doing something incorrectly or should I have created the tabular form differently?
    Many thanks. Kris

    Kristian - You see a different version of the form depending on whether the selected column is the primary key column or not.

  • Inserting developed forms into portal

    What do I need to do to insert a form I build in forms developer into my portal? Please go step by step. Thanks a lot!!

    Mathew,
    if you simply link from portal to forms then the required trasks are simple in that you create a link in Portal and provide the Forms startup URL. In Oracle9i Forms, Forms and Portal share the same SSO scheme so that you are fine for that.
    If you like forms to be a Portlet within Portal, then there are quite some difficulties to be aware of:
    1. It seems that Portal doesn't pass the full HTTP header to Forms which means that Forms does not know about the Browser type your are using (as well as the language set on the client). This measn you have to configure the application to always use JInitiator (which works on both Browser types)
    2. Portal redirects the request making relative URLs fail. Make sure you use absolute URLs in the formsweb.cfg file (e.g. the serverURL parameter for the Forms Listener Servlet).
    3. In Forms9i, reloading a page does restart Forms and reloading a page is what Portal does all the time. Use the Java 1.4 Plugin instead of JInitiator and set the legacy parameter to make it behave like Forms6i. Note that the change in behaviour was added by SUN in Java.
    4. In Portal use the URL portlet from the JPDK to link Forms into Portal
    Actually from exoerience our recommendation still is to run Forms in an extra Window.
