Inserting forms in Pages
Why is it that when I want to insert a text box or a form, the start of it ends up always in middle of the page where I then have to place it where I want to? Is there any way to override this annoying thing and have the text box placed wherever I have my cursor.

i am trying to create a 3 page form. i used the insert form wizard to create the first form and ask the form to go to the next page which i made an update form to continue the next set of fields. i tried what u said...but the next form did not add records to the database as i expected.below is my code for the two pages. pls tell me the best approach..thanks

Add a new column to an "Insert Form" created by HTMLDB Wizard throws Error
Hi,
My table design has changed and I had to add 2 new columns.
The corresponding Insert Form/Report/Update Forms created by the HTMLDB should now reflect the new columns that have been added.
In report and update forms I did not have a problem but in the Insert form, under Edit Page Process I tried to change the sql and I get the below error

Thanks.Resolved this by a simple ";" at the end of the insert sql.
I did not think a ";" will be necessary because when you edit the page process a ";" is not visible. -
No longer able to insert forms without table for layout
So I just tried for the first time since upgrading to CS6 Dreamweaver to insert a form on a page.
Previously you were able to insert in DW and it would use DIVS for items. Now however it appears the only option anywhere is to insert form as a table.
Chat support just confirmed this.
If true this is a massive step backwards. I'm hoping chat was wrong and I'm just missing something because the extra work involved in removing the tables manually and recoding forms to divs is crazy.
Please tell me I'm wrong???Yeah but I have to manually change it now. Before I could insert in DW as divs.

I need to modify my website and I used a Spry menu to direct users to specific pages. This is no longer supported with the 2014 version and thought a Jump Menu would work, but it is not on the insert/form menu as instructed in help files. Any ideas?
Jump Menus still exist in CC, they're just created differently than they used to be. For some reason I can't figure out, they've been a bit buried...
1. Click in Design View where you want the Select Menu to appear
2. Go to Insert > Form > Select
3. Click on the Select Menu created in Design View
4. Click the + in the Behaviors Window and choose Jump Menu
From there, you should get the familiar Jump Menu dialogue box. -
In a multi record block in a forms, the page up and down keys are not working as in older version of developer( forms4.5) it was working. (I have upgreded my form from 4.5 to 6.0 ) Please help me to set the page up/down functions working.
You should be able to fix it with Oraterm. This is the procedure I recieved from Oracle Support (it works):
1) applied patch # 2 not only for oraterm, but also forms and reports and all
products
Run a simple form. Ctrl+PageUp and Ctrl+PageDown are not mapped.
Left and Right arrows are not mapped too.
2) open oraterm 6.0.5.30.0. , open ORANT\FORMS60\fmrwus.res.
3) Click on the first button (K)
4)Click Product Actions button
5)Select Normal , under runform.
6)Click Edit Actions
7)If these actions are not defined, please define them. The first column is the
action. The spelling is important. The second is the internal code for that
action.Important too. The third is just a description, that will appear .
when you issue the show keys command.Don't remember all that is missing. If
you find something else is missing, go to .res shipped with Dev 2.1 and copy
the actions, codes and bindings.

I would like to add two list box on the same insert form.
The two list box should be linked each other with a 1:1 relation.
The data in the two compo box could be static data; no need to use
dynamic data here).
Selecting from list box 1 will automatically select the related value
from list box 2.
Vice versa, selecting a value on list box 2 will automatically select
the related value on list box 1.
Is there a way to do this using ADDT?

No, I've seen your post just now. :(.
I too I've never seen nothing similar, but the customer said that the
last year another company have done this for him. But I haven't seen
those pages and we can't get the source code :(.
Perhaps a dropdown menu showing two fields could help.
Or, even better, an editable drop down menu that allow you to type
something and it will autocomplete automatically using the first field
or the second field.
Is this possible?

How do I insert or extract pages in Acrobat 9 if I created the form using LiveCycle Designer ES?

When you create a form in LC Designer, it the XFA form so that Acrobat/Reader can open and interact with the form. However this XFA form is completely different from a form developed in Acrobat (AcroForm) or any other standard/flat PDF.
When you open an XFA form in Acrobat you cannot do some of the standard Acrobat functions. This isn't a hidden restriction that you can turn off - it is juat the way it is.
So in Acrobat you cannot insert pages into the XFA form, using the Document / Insert pages menu. However you can develop a button on your form in LC designer, to insert a page at runtime.
In relation to exporting a page from your XFA form, you can use the File / Export menu to export to an image file (eg JPEG). In addition you can print the form to PDF using Acrobat.
In summary:
Extract - either export to JPEG and deal with the image files OR print form to PDF.

Thanks, it works.
I added a bit of code to set a session variable using this Parameter
URL, so that I can manage the record ID along the whole user session.
So, I ask you a little question: when it is best to delete or destroy
session variables? after displaying the inserted records or just befor
inserting the first one?
Here is my little test workflow:
1- destroy variable sessions (I think I will unset session variables
one by one instead, to eliminate the risk to delete other sesssion
variable (UserID...)
2- insert the first record (redirect to the next page using the record
ID1)
3- set a session variable (S1) using the ID1 coming from previous page
($_GET)
4- insert the second record (redirect to the next page using the
record ID2)
5- set a session variable (S2) using the ID2 coming from previous
page ($_GET)
6- insert the third record (redirect to the next page using the
record ID3)
7- set a session variable (S3) using the ID3 coming from previous page
($_GET)
8- create a recordsets to filter the db by S1, S2 and S3.
9- display the report
it seems to work.
do you think there is something to refine?

To enable the form to be signed in Reader you will need to open the form in Acrobat; goto Advanced>Enable Usage Rights and then save this copy of the form for sending out to the users.
The user should then be able to edit and digitally sign the form. They can then email the signed/saved pdf as a browsed for attachment or via the email icon in the toolbar. Note - if you have created an email submit button on the form, then unless they have Acrobat they could only return an xml file.
The other way to do this however is to create a dataset by 'distributing' the form. This time the Email Return button will send back a full version of the form. During the distribution setup you will have the option to email the form directly or to save it and send it later,so you can send to users as and when or even post it to a website or intranet.
When you receive and open the returned form it will ask whether you want to add it to the predetermined dataset (or if you want to categorise the returns into geographical areas for example, you could create new additional datasets at this point). If the form is data heavy however, the dataset will become very large and unwieldy pretty quickly, but you can export the data from it (including signatures) in xml format and import this into an Excel spreadsheet.
To simplify the Excel xml import process I'd recommend you carefully structure your form in the hierarchy (LiveCycle) into the order you would want the data items to appear in your spreadsheet and switch off those data items that you will not need by setting the default binding for the irrelevant fields to "None".

I am having trouble getting my insertion form to save the
info to a database. What I want to do is to get customers to
subscribe to a monthly newsletter by inserting their email
addresses into a form which should then be saved to a MS Access
Database. I have made the connection and theres no problems there.
But when use the record insertion form wizard and try to test it on
my testing server (offline)...and when I click submit I get the
following message:

Hi all
I'm hoping someone has an idea what is causing this issue. I am using Crystal 2008 and have created many reports over the years, with no issue like this.
I have had to create a label file for an Avery label that does not appear in the Crystal Reports default list of label definitions (have done this many times before for other labels, with no issue).
The report displays perfectly in the CR Report Viewer, however once the report is sent either to PDF export or to the printer, an extra blank page is inserted after every page of the report.
The fact that it displays correctly in the viewer means there is nothing in the report that is amiss.... there is something going on when the report is sent out.
I've read a lot of similar problems, however the idea that it is a network problem doesn't explain why the hundreds of other reports I've created exactly the same way... do not have this problem!
Does anyone know the answer to this puzzle?

Here is the issue. When you look at the report in the viewer you see this:
Notice the dashed line after the body of each label. That line is there because the report is formatted to be a column report:
So the viewer shows you that there is another column to be printed / exported and that is what is happening with the report.
