Inserting mp3 in 8.1.7

hi everyone
i just changed OS and i reinstalled oracle 8.1.7
my target is the same as before: insterting MP3 files in a
table..
this is what i did:
- i created a new user;
- i granted connect, resource, create library, create table,
create any directory , ctxapp, query rewrite to the user;
- i created a directory with mp3 inside;
- following the online teaching i created this tablespace
create tablespace mm_data_ts
datafile 'MMdata.dbf' size 60m
AUTOEXTEND ON
maxsize unlimited
minimum extent 500k
default storage (
initial 500k
next 500k
- i created this table
CREATE or replace TABLE SOUNDS
Item_ID               number          not null
PRIMARY KEY,
Audio           ordsys.ordaudio
LOB (Audio.source.localdata) STORE AS
tablespace mm_data_ts
storage (initial 500k
next 500k
pctincrease 0
maxextents unlimited)
chunk 32k
nocache nologging
commit;
- ...and this procedure:
procedure MP3.loadsound (id integer,filename in varchar2) as
noise ORDSYS.ORDaudio;
sounds CLOB;
ctx RAW(4000) := NULL;
begin
-- insert a row with id and an initialized ORDAudio object
INSERT INTO sounds VALUES(id,ORDSYS.ORDAUDIO.init());
commit;
-- select into local variable for processing/updates/etc
SELECT audio INTO noise FROM sounds
WHERE item_id=id FOR UPDATE;
noise.importFrom(ctx, 'FILE', 'auddir', filename);
noise.setProperties(ctx);
UPDATE sounds SET audio = noise
WHERE item_id=id;
commit;
end;
then:
if i exec the procedure it gives me:
ERRORE at line 1:
ORA-00984: not allowed column
ORA-06512: at "MP3.LOADSOUND", line 14
ORA-06512: at line 1
why?????????????????????
thank you for reading all this..

Lu,
I have been unable to reproduce your problem locally.
The error message seems to indicate that you are using
a column name in a pl/sql command where you shouldn't.
I wonder if the local variable of type clob (that doesn't
seem to be used in the procedure) named SOUNDS (like the
table) has anything to do with it.
Do let me know if you've made any progress.
Regards,
Rajiv

• Inserted mp3 cd won't play

I insert a new mp3 cd and it does not show up anywhere. How can I read it into the computer? This is a book.

If it doesn't show up in a Finder window either (and note that I mean the window that shows the sidebar with your Home folder, etc, not the Desktop), e.g:
then either the disk is bad or there's something wrong with the optical drive in your Mac. Do other disks, such as the system installation disk that came with your Mac, mount and appear correctly?
For further diagnosis, it will help if you tell us what model of Mac you have and what version of Mac OS X it's running.

• Inserting MP3 in website

So I have a website I made in older version of DW MX2004 I think it was. Bt working fine for years. The site has video and mp3 music. Click a link go to video, click a link go to mp3.
Now the very weird thing is music plays in Google Chrome on Mac. Not Safari on Mac. And NOT in IE on WIndows.
For some reason the music mp3 portion mostly doesn't work and gives me an error or can't find the page. I was alerted to this. I literally have not done anything to this site for two years.
So I fire up DW CS4 to check. I check one mp3 link I see the DW box where I had inserted the music years ago. The link to it looks fine. But I redo it it. I do the rest of the links too. Upload the redo - nothing still - but yes in Chrome - SO weird.
So I try to just redo each insert of music. But for some reason in CS4 my options are mostly for Flash video or SWF. But I don't see a Quicktime or some other audio time way to make in CS4.
NOW I'M NOT A DEVOTED DW USER. VERY AMATEUR.
Is there now way in CS4 to insert just a mp3? I don't have Flash or no anything in using it.
And it's funny because ALL the quicktime video I originally made the site with plays fine in all browsers. Just music mp3 files.
I hope this is clear.How do I just insert amp3 file now in DW4.
Thanks

The file you are downloading cannot be opened in the default program.
It is either corrupted or has an incorrect file type.
filename: mnrk.mp3
However, this page opens and plays the embedded music file.

• Can't insert mp3 files into Keynote 6.2.2

I have a Keynote '09 presentation that includes audio (mp3s) and video (mp4s). When I opened the presentation in Keynote 6.2.2, it was converted, of course. I got several error messages about mov files not being able to be converted, though I have no mov files in the folder or in the presentation. The audio is gone from the presentation and when I try to insert an mp3 I get a message saying "The movie 'movie name.mp3' couldn't be inserted. The operation could not be completed." No explanation, and the only option is OK. I tried both dragging and dropping the audio, and doing Insert->Choose.
The mp3s play fine outside of Keynote.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

Keynote 6.2.2 running under Mavericks 10.9.5 has serious problems with video and audio compatibility. On my older G5 I thought this might have been a RAM issue, but I recently upgraded to a MacBook Pro with 8G RAM. Problems are the same and even worse:
1. If I insert a newly downloaded MP4 file onto a Keynote 6 slide it will play without a problem. If you close the file or perform a save, the MP4 will freeze and refuse to play.
2. Converted .mov file to the new H.264 codec sometimes play once on a Keynote slide, and then freeze, but playing directly through QT is not a problem.
3. Randomly, some converted .mov video files never have a problem when inserted on a Keynote slide while others refuse to be inserted or to play properly--with absolutely no consistent pattern.
This is immensely frustrating and has cause me to revert to KN 5 when I have a presentation with a lot of video clips--just to avoid on-stage embarrassment. And the production design quality of KN 6 is great so having to go back and forth between 5 and 6 is a huge hassle.
Apple needs to fix this pronto for its KN power users. It is a mess.

• Insert mp3 in front of another mp3

This is probably very easy, but I have had no training on soun
dbooth and am trying to teach it. Wow!!
I want to insert 'applause' sound effect in fron of a piece of music (mp3).
Afarid I need very specific directions.
I am also trying to have a multitrack where music is on one track and narrration on the other with both playing.
Same request.....very specific instructions.
Thanks!!

Hi Jimmy,
here is a quick and dirty scripting solution to your problem. The code could be nicer but it gives you an impression about what needs to be done:
1. Loop through all stories and then through all paragraphs in each story
2. Determine if a paragraph has the applied style "Silkeborg"
3. If yes then select it and insert "S " before:
var oDoc = app.activeDocument;
//First loop through all stories then through all paragraphs in each story
for(n=0; n< oDoc.stories.length;n++){
for(i=0;i<oDoc.stories[n].paragraphs.length;i++){
// If paragraph style is "Silkeborg" then select paragraph and insert "S " before
if  (oDoc.stories[n].paragraphs[i].appliedParagraphStyle.name == "Silkeborg") {
oDoc.stories[n].paragraphs[i].select();
app.selection[0].insertionPoints[0].contents = "S ";

• Inserting MP3 file to play on one page of a website

How do I or what do I need to do in order to have an MP3 file play on just one page of my website when that page is opened? Thanks.

Incidentally, your <!DOCTYPE> declaration specifies xhtml but your code isn't xhtml, which has various strict requirements about lower casing all your tags and attributes, and many other arcane things. I suggest using an HTML doctype instead. The most modern one is the simplest:
<!DOCTYPE html>
Most browsers are pretty forgiving of wrong doctypes, but just in case.

• Inserting MP3 ActiveX

I'm making a list of songs on a page. I insert an ActiveX and
this provides me with the button activator I want. But the music
file(s) plays as soon as the page opens. How do I set the
parameters to have the file wait until the button is clicked?
I tried using a standard button and using Behaviors to play
the sound, but I can't get that to work in Safari. I prefer the
ActiveX button, so if it's possible to set this button to play on
click, this would be most helpful.
Any help so greatly appreciated!

go to the properties of the file in display page and it gives
you the option of playing on opening the page or play
automatically

• How to disable the FULL SCREEN option in the 'Insert Video and Audio' option

Hi,
I've been inserting some MP3's and using an image for pupils to click on to play the sound, the images are 100 pixels by 100 pixels.
The only issue is that I have the grey rectangle 'Full Screen' box over the picture. This is ideal when I put videos on but not necessary when you have just an MP3. Also I've noticed that the 'Styles' option is greyed out and due to that I can't change the
colour of the play button.
I've been inserting MP3's direct from my PC hard drive to the webpage.
Any help'd be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Per my understanding, you might want to disable the “Full Screen” button and make other customization when there is an audio file in the page.
By default, when we insert an audio/video file into page via “Insert Video and Audio” button in the ribbon, an OOTB Media Web Part will be added into the page contains
the file you added, the “Full Screen” button is a part of this Media Web Part.
In consideration of you might have other requirements on designing the style, I would suggest you create a custom Media Web Part instead which will enable you customize
the style as you want.
About creating a custom Media Web Part, you can use the tag:

• Delete MP3 file the fla remain the same size

Hello.Perhaps it is trivial, but in Flash 7,8 I insert MP3
file to the library and drag it to the stage. Save the file and of
course it become heavier. I delete the mp3 from the library, save
again and the file weight stay the same. I had to save the file in
a different name to get rid of return the original size. Is it
familiar?
Thanks

anati,
> I had to save the file in a different name to get rid of

Or use File > Compact and Save. ;) It is a familiar
behavior, and
doesn't indicate that anything is wrong.

• Adding Extension Tab to Insert Bar

Finally, after much trial and error, I' ve created an
extension to insert some code I needed that prompts for input...
Now, however, in following a tutorial I found on dmxzone.com
that shows how to create an .mxi file to package the extension, I'm
encountering some problems.
First, I had tried modifying the insertbar.xml file, which
worked, but not exactly as I wanted it to...and, I needed to
package it to give to someone else, so I undid the modifications to
the insertbar.xml file, but my modifications refuse to go away, and
still appear on the insert bar...How can I get that to go away.
Secondly, I created the .mxi file I needed, but I can't seem
to get it to appear as I want...what I want is to have the tab
labeled "GFSO", because I want to have multiple extensions that
pertain to that organization. Then, I want the tooltip to say
"Insert MP3 Player Code"...
My question, I guess, is...how do I make that happen...??? I
can get either/or to happen, but not both. What in the .mxi file
controls this??? I've searched everywhere, but can't find any
resource that fully addresses this question.
My .mxi file reads:
<macromedia-extension id=""
name="GFSO"
version="1"
type="object">

<products>
<product name="Dreamweaver" version="8" primary="true"
/>
</products>

This extension will add the code necessary for
the MP3 player to play clips.

<ui-access>
Click on Insert MP3 Player Code icon from the
GFSO Objects window
</ui-access>
<files>
<file name="MP3 Player.html"
destination="$dreamweaver/configuration/objects/GFSO" />
<file name="MP3 Player.js"
destination="$dreamweaver/configuration/objects/GFSO" />
<file name="MP3 Player.gif"
destination="$dreamweaver/configuration/objects/GFSO" />
</files>

</macromedia-extension>
which gives me a tab that reads "MP3 Player"...how can I make
this say "GFSO"??? I thought that by having the .html and .js code
in it's own directory would do that, but even though I specify that
install directory, it isn't created and I'm not sure where the
files for the extension end up.
Thanks in advance!

I haven't the solution for the second problem, but for the
first, maybe it's a multi-user configuration pb.
If you have modified the Program Files/Macromedia/DW/ folder,
there are chances that DW copied the insertbar.xml fil to your
local user folder (Document & Settings/User Name/ ....).
Another thing could be a cache folder DW's using but I can't
remember where it is.
hope it helps

• Using a preloader in a separate AS file?

Hey folks,
I've appropriated a preloader I created previous where it existed on the main timeline. For my new project, I placed it in an external AS file, but something's off. I keep getting this error message, referencing line 16 in my line of code:

• Export problem with Captivate 5

I have a 91 slide powerpoint 2007. The powerpoint file is in 16:9 format (10" x 5.63"). I have 13 .f4v videos that I need to incorporate into the presentation after I import the file into Captivate. The powerpoint slides also have audio which I have to add in Captivate as Captivate imports the audio icon that powerpoint puts on slides. So I have to insert mp3 files into each slide. I then want to publish as a single f4v file to be used either on the web or transcoded to DVD for distribution. I've experienced nothing but trouble. After reading the FAQs, I moved the file to my C drive and broke it into 3 sequential files. This did not resolve the problems. When exported the program often freezes part way thru the publishing process. If I break the program into smaller pieces, the publish process doesn't freeze, but the video and audio don't sync properly. The audio for one slide will be playing while the video skips forward to other slides. I figured that I could just leave out the inserted .f4v movies and insert them into the project using premiere pro to finish production. Even when I have a shortened version of the presentation with no added f4v files, Captivate still publishes a f4v file where the audio and video don't sync. As a last measure I thought I would create a version in powerpoint where I have specified the length of each slide to accommodate for the audio that has to be added and that I would pull that into Captivate. I could then publish the file in it's most stripped down form from Captivate and add the audio and the additional video in premiere pro. It turns out that when I specify a slide for 29 seconds in powerpoint, the slide correctly shows for 29 seconds in Captivate but then exports a f4v file that displays the slide for 29 FRAMES. Help! Is there any way to produce the project I've described using Captivate? Doug Jackson

If youv'e been moving files around or sharing them between computers then the pathway to the Preloaders directory in the Adobe Captivate install file might not be correct.
Go to Preferences and look at the current path shown there for Preloader. Browse to the correct location according to whatever version of Captivate you are using to edit the file with. If Captivate 5 or 5.5 your only choice will be to use AS3 preloaders. Don't navigate to an AS2 preloader in the Captivate 4 install directory.

• In CS3... insert plug-in... mp3... but i cant see de preview... why ???

(1°: Excuse me for my english)
When insert a plug in (audio- mp3) open the preview and, in my pc, I see a black bar (no a reproductor)... Other person can see the display of reproductor... And, when I want insert an ActiveX, a video You Tube, the sistem give me error, too (no show the video).
This error actions begin today.
Why?
HELP ME PLEASE !!!

Hi sorry for the delay, but we are apparently in two very different time zones.
I have looked at your code and it may be that the following two scripts are conflicting with each other, if they are both for flash player then only the AC_RunActiveContent.js is required, as this inserts the active X code for IE as well as that required for other browsers.

The fact that dreamweaver does not find the plug-in may simply be that it cannot find the file associated with the player in your file structure, (if it works in the browser, do not worry about this).
How the flash players controls are inserted into the code has changed over the last few years they are now inserted by the use of what are called skins, so this problem may be more a question of your player version code than anything else, check which version you are using on the other computers compared with your version, and let me know please.
