Inserting spray menu bars

Could someone help me with spary menu bar?
I have created a menu bar on a HTTP home page and uploaded it with spray assets.
When I checked on the net, I can see texts which link to another http pages, such as contact http pages.
However, it does not show the styled mune bar I wanted.
Using ul.MenuBarVertical a, I selected green for background colour and black bold text.
my website is as below;

Please help!!

Hi,
looking to your website I miss some files. Did you "include" your spryMenue by DW? If yes you should get this message (here it's my German DW):
what means DW needs the files listed above and want's to copy these files into your local site. You have to confirm and later you have to sent them to your server.
If you look to your source code you can control the links. As I can see here:
  <li><a href="about_dotty.html">Home</a>    </li>
  <li><a href="#">About Dotty</a></li>
This "#" is only a placeholder, and it doesn't lead to a link. I think you would express something like that:
<li><a href="home.html">Home</a></li>
<li><a href="about_dotty.html">About Dotty</a></li>

  • Divs are shifting after inserting spry menu bar

    I have tried so much that it has driven me crazy. Initailly I created this site by APdivs and it came out perfect and worked great, except it was not fluid and looked bad on bigger browser and screen size. I decided to change it to fluid way. Now I am in bad shape as soon as I put a horizontal spry menu bar. it shifts the columns to the left and leaves a blank space next to the column 3. I am out of idea, how to fix it. As soon as I take the menu bar out, it works perfect. and columns are stretched to the end on both sides.
    Here is the link of test page
    www.hpbsurgery.net
    This is what I have tried-nothing worked
    put menu bar in container
    put menu bar in header div
    Put mebu bar in a horizontal div inside header div.
    changed the size and dimension of menu bar
    Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am running out of time.
    Thanks much all....

    Thanks very much for your help. I just wanted to mention one thing which I discovered this am by accident out of frustration. Originally, I was trying to control the size of the 3 columns with external CSS and it was messing up after inserting menu bar. I wrote directly in the code this am to exactly define the size besides in my CSS. AND............it fixed the problem and stretched the columns to the end on both side and sizes were appropriate, I am still not sure why did it happen.
    I am not a professional and trying to build my own site as I have interest in web design, but this is first time with DW.
    I really appreciate your help and suggestion about the code.
    Thanks a lot,

    You appear confused about how to use CSS classes and IDs.  Classes (.className) can be used multiple times in layouts as for re-usable styles.  IDs (#IDName) can be used only one time per page -- as for layout regions or when JavaScript is needed to act upon it.  Try copying and pasting this code into a new blank page.  Hopefully it will make more sense than what you have now.

  • Basic question - Spray menu bar

    Ok, silly question but I m just a newbie.. I want my spray
    menu bar to be different on the index page, although if I attempt
    any change (of font, background color, etc...) it will also change
    the menu bar from all the other pages. Any bright suggestions?
    Thanks

    Oups, found it.... Just had to make a copy of the css file
    under a different name and then change the link in the code.

    i use dreamweaver cc but i can't see Spry menu Bar any where ?

    FYI, in Aug 2012, Adobe announced that Spry was to be discontinued.

  • Insert css menu bar

    Dear all,
    i am trying to insert a menubar developed by a thirdparty css menu builder into adobe muse, but whenever i try to insert the scripts via "object>insert html" it does not seem to work.
    i am using a CSS menu builder form "CSS3 Menu. Free CSS Menu Maker"
    i cant use the default menu builder from Muse becuase i have too many drop downs.
    here is an example of one of my sites that i used a java script menu builder instead. "Kraft Foods Portal"
    i am transitioning to css because java menu builder is obselete and Css is able to make it look cooler.
    any help would be highly appreciated. thanks.

    Muse can build it's own menu system using CSS. (Menu widget)
    Not sure if you can even bring a third party menu builder inside Muse and work properly.

  • Creating multiple  Spry menu bars in one site

    I've been creating a website and I am required to use multiple templates to manage all the different sections of the site.  To make it much less of a hassle, once I created one template, I simply saved that template as another template so I would not have to start all over again.  On the first template I created a spry menu bar with a certain amount of buttons.  And because I created the other templates with that template, those templates had the same menu bar containing the same settings.  The problem is, because of the specified settings of the spry menu bar, if I change the amount of buttons from the original to one less, the whole bar on that template will get off center and messed up because the settings for the menu bar are not set to that certain amount of buttons, but if I change the settings to suite that amount of buttons, then the settings for all the templates change and that messes up the other menu bars on those templates because they have a different amount of buttons.  Currently my templates all contain 10 buttons and I am wanting to create a new menu bar with only about 4 - 6 buttons.  I thought going up to insert and inserting a brand new menu bar would do the trick but when I did that it inserted a menu bar that had all the settings of the already-created menu bar, (ie same background images, and hovers, etc.) as well as the width which, because the width is suited for 10 buttons, it does not properly make the default 4 button menu bar center correctly.  And if I try to change the settings on this menu bar then the same thing happens with everything changing and getting messed up.
    So after this long explanation, my question is, how can I insert multiple spry menu bars into one site that are not correlated with each other in terms of all the settings so that when changed, will not affect each other?  I am guessing I am having this problem because I created all the templates from one template so they are all interlocked, but the page that I tried to insert the brand new menu bar on was not created from any of the templates and was the first page I made at the very start.
    http://phonytrojanmusic.zxq.net/ Here is the link to the site. The first page that opens up is the page that I tried to insert the brand new menu bar on.  If you click on band choir or elementary you will see the menu bars with 10 buttons that are all interlocked in terms of settings.  Also, I'd like to note that if I delete a button in one template, it does not delete that same button in the other templates, nor does it add a button to the other templates if I add one.  Only the physical appearance changes because the settings are meant for only one amount of buttons.  Sorry for the novel!

    Alright well I just tried to use 2 complete different templates.  I created one brand new template from scratch, added the menu bar, gave it an ID of "band", and configured it to suite 10 buttons accordingly.  Then I started off from scratch again with a starting html page with a different css style sheet and added the menu bar and gave it a different ID of "choir" but the settings of the two different bars still act as one set of settings!  I dont know how to fix this problem.  Please tell me what to post if anything will help you. Im guessing the solution is very simple but I have tried everything.
    here is the code for the two different menu bars (one in each template)
    choir

  • Horizontal Menu Bar Help Needed

    Hi there, I am somewhat new to web design but I've been helping a friend update his business's page recently.  We use Dreamweaver CS3 and our hosting is thru GoDaddy.
    My problem appears when I try to insert a horizontal menu bar (Insert>Spry>Menu bar) so that a dropdown menu will appear when I hover over an option, much like the top menu on the GoDaddy homepage, among others.  It works correctly when I preview my page in a browser from Dreamweaver, (Firefox, IE) but when I actually upload my page to the GoDaddy servers and view it, it shows up not as a bar with hidden options, but as a long unformatted vertical list.
    The site in question is here: http://www.notyouraveragebookkeeper.com/indextabs
    I thought it might be a problem with CSS, but I made sure that all of the style sheets are properly uploaded to the servers, and I made sure that my browser accepted any Javascript applets.  I've also tried it with my Dreamweaver CS5 trial.  Like I said, I am an amateur in every sense of the word and I'm still learning technical terms for things so some of my jargon may be a bit flawed.  I have done a good bit of online research in forums and otherwise, and I've tried solutions that have been given to similar problems. Maybe someone could view the source code and find out where I've gone wrong, or suggest tips to identify problems in Dreamweaver. I feel like the problem lies within the Spry framework, but I have very little knowledge on how it works or what it does.
    Any assistance in this regard would be extremely helpful and appreciated.

    Neither SpryMenuBar.js and SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css can be found by your online site.
    Possibly these have not been uploaded or uploaded to a wrong location.

  • Spry vertical menu bar size issue

    hello world,
    i've got a beautiful layout with a lefthand menu section that i would love to behave with pop-out menus.
    the entire design was crafted lovingly in fireworks and then exported as html with images, then opened in dreamweaver - looks great!
    remove the image that was in the slice where the menu will go, check.
    place cursor and select insert>spry>menu bar, select orientation, check.
    remove extraneous menu items in the properties inspector, check.
    and then, the problem...the box where "Item 1" (which will become my first button) is too big and shifts the entire table out of shape.
    i've edited the box sizes in the following CSS items:
    ul.MenuBarVertical
    ul.MenuBarVertical li
    ul.MenuBarVertical a
    sometimes i can get it close to it being in-shape with no shifting if i make the menu box smaller than the image that will go in it, looks great in DW but it is then shifted down by a considerable amount when previewing in browers. any pointers will be greatly appreciated.

    hi hans
    i can't upload at the moment, don't have the password to the site at the moment.
    for now the best i can do is post the CSS, and let you know that the size of the image i'd like to place in the parent spry menu is 168w x 32h (in px)

  • Menu bar not displaying in browser preview.

    After inserting my menu bar it doesn't display when I preview it in my browser. I have a rectangle sectioned for my main navigation menu and the menu bar sits on top of it...could this be causing it to not be seen? Also, it showed only once after pinning it...but that isn't what I want because when the page scrolls up and down the menu sits stationary...but it allows it to show??
    Anyone have this issue or have a fix?
    Thanks,
    Lee

    <header> and <footer> are html5 semantic tags. Old non-html5 browsers (like IE8) don't know how to handle them without a little help.
    Add this code to your <head>
    <!--[if lt IE 9]>
         <script src="//html5shiv.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/html5.js"></script>
    <![endif]-->
    Or better yet, download the .js file and add it to your site, then link to it, that way you won't depend on third party servers keeping the file in the same location...

  • Spry Menu Bar - No Formatting

    I build several sites on Dreamweaver CS3. I decided I wanted to add Spry Menu Bar to one of them.  When I try, I get no formatting at all, just a list of text menu items.  Everything else is normal, but there is no menu bar, it displays instead as something between code and display.  It previews that way, too.  So, I tried inserting the bar on other sites, and it works fine.  On the site I am trying to insert the bar, when I try to insert it takes a long, long time for the wrong thing to turn up.  On the other sites, the bar inserts immediately.  Anyone else run into this?  I've checked all the site properties, and nothing I find suggests a fix.  I'm totally stumped.

    I assume you have checked the obvious:  correct route to the JS and CSS files?  Make sure you have each of the core elements and that the correct paths to such; my guess is that you are missing the final item below.  The below are from http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/articles/menu_bar/index.html (scroll down the page to "Insert the Menu Bar Widget").  Make sure you have all 10 items/steps completed as explained within that article.
    In the header:
    <script src="SpryAssets/SpryMenuBar.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <link href="SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarHorizontal.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
    After the script:
    <script type="text/javascript">
         var menubar1 = new Spry.Widget.MenuBar("menubar1");
    </script>

  • Srpy menu bar will not display

    Was working away on modifying a spry menu bar when all of a
    sudden the menu bar will not display. Tried creating a new page and
    inserting the menu bar and still will not display. Won't even
    display in previous pages created.
    Anybody have any ideas?
    Thanks

    The following code calls the MenuBar widget into your
    document, but the widget will not be found, if the code that I
    provided you is not properly formatted.
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    var MenuBar1 = new Spry.Widget.MenuBar("MenuBar1",
    {imgDown:"SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarDownHover.gif",
    imgRight:"SpryAssets/SpryMenuBarRightHover.gif"});
    //-->
    </script>
    When I insert a SPRY widget into my document the Javascript
    and CSS files that construct and determine the appearance of the
    widget are automatically placed into a folder called SpryAssets. My
    document is housed in a different folder. Thus, I must exit the
    folder in which my document is contained before entering the
    SpryAssets folder. When I read your href attribute it appears that
    your SpryAsset folder and your document are located in the same
    directory folder. If this is true, then I do not understand why
    your widget does not appear.
    I can offer two additional suggestions, and then my knowledge
    of what might be wrong is exhausted:
    1) If possible insert the widget again using a previous
    version of your document in which the widget has not already been
    inserted.
    2) Always make sure that your document has been saved at
    least once before inserting a SPRY object. This will insure that
    everything is properly linked when the widget is inserted.
    In the meantime, maybe someone more knowledgeable than I will
    be able to help.

  • Menu Bar 2.0: how to change text?

    Hi folks, I feel like I am missing something simple but every time I insert the Menu Bar 2.0 widget in my Dreamweaver CS5 page I cannot seem to customise the menu item names.
    Obviously I've tried typing over the top of existing text but this doesn't work - it seems to remove the functionality of the button altogether.
    Configuring the colours and alignment is simple enough in the widget browser, but how do you actually change the text and link properties of the contents?
    Thanks in advance for advice on this.
    Jo

    I go into code view and change it that way. Failing that, just double click the word in design view and type whatever you need. If there are two words, double click each word and delete.
    Linking can be done through the properties panel.

  • Adding background image to Spry Menu Bar?

    Hi Everyone,
    I have a question concerning adding a background image to a horizontal spry menu.
    1) I am using Dreamweaver CS4.
    2) I am inserting this menu bar on a HTML document.
    3) I have created and am using an external style sheet (CSS)
    I am not sure on which style(s) ("ul.*) to edit in order to acheive this.
    I have a total of four(4) different images I would like to use, they are...
    1) Horizontal Menu Bar (main menu bar)
    2) Horizontal Menu Bar - Rollover
    3) Submenu
    4) Submenu - Rollover
    Also I would like the text to be centered on the button.
    I have somewhat acheived this using the instructions for "customize this widget", yet the image "repeats" because the button is larger than the image.
    I have not tried to center the text, this may be a very simple thing, if so just let me know.
    What I dont know, and was hoping someone could tell me, is which style(s) ("ul.*) to edit in order to acheive this.
    If anyone needs anymore information, just let me know and I will give it to you as soon as possible.
    Also I have attached three(3) of the four(4) pictures I would like to use. (this is the maximum)
    Any help will be greatly appreciated,

    I'd like to thank everyone with their help so far, but I am still having trouble.
    I have tried both suggestions and the results are...
    The one suggested by dhvani2511 gave me this...
    (The cursur is over "Item 1" it is not blue when a cursur is not over it.)
    I would like the image to "be" the button, not just "in" it,if that makes sense.
    I have slightly tried the one suggested by .V1 but being that I am new to dreamweaver, code, etc. I am not sure where to copy/paste the code that you gave me.
    Does anyone have anymore information?
    Thanks,

  • Adobe premiere elements 12 - how to create menu bar action for my inserted image button

    adobe premiere elements 12 - how to create menu bar action for my inserted image button without using their movie menu theme

    forbemag
    I do not think that I am completely focused into this completely, so let us see if the following is going to help.
    You are going to need a base for your button. When you mention "image" button, I am assuming that you are using that term to differentiate between a text button and a thumbnail type button.
    The menus (main and scene) take their origin in .psd files on the hard drive and strict nomenclature and structure for Layers Palatte. And, the buttons on the menus trace back to the menu markers on the Timeline, main menu marker and order of placement of scene markers. The scene thumbnail will only appear when there is a scene marker on the Timeline to which it.
    In view of all that
    Where have you already inserted this "image (button)"...into the Layers Palette of a Photoshop document or other? Is this "image (button)" in a structured Layer Group in the Layers Palette with sublayer groups, text layers, graphic/background layer"?
    Let me give you an example
    If you have a button (with thumbnail) on the main menu and you want that to open to a specific scene in your movie, then you use a main menu marker on the Timeline at the spot that you want that button to target.
    If I am getting closer to what you seek, then please further clarify the DVD navigational envisioned scheme.
    Thanks.
