Insertpages bug in in 9.x - where would this be verified?

I've been asked by a client to modify an Acrobat 9.x script (currently 9.5.x) that uses the pddoc.insertpages to create new documents. The change requires that the source document be split apart.
The problem I am having is that no matter what I put in for the # of pages to add - I get the entire enitre document.
THe current code is
Newpddoc.insertpages(-1,SourceDoc,lStartPage, lPages,0)
The test doc is 850 pages long. even hard coding the pages paramters to insert just 1 page (below) results in the entire documetn in the new file.
Newpddoc.insertpages(-1,SourceDoc,0, 1,0)
I've gone through the forum topics on insertpages and can't find a solution; however, one comment in a prior thread addressing this specific problem hinted that this was a bug in 9.2 (the referenced Acrobat version that was solved in X.  Can anyone verify this? Does Adobe publish a list of outstanding bugs (havne't been able to find a reference to this other than SDK docs and forum)? Or is there something I'm not seeing in the parameters that need to fixed?

I did a test to use two images, and alpa during rendering. I don't know if it will help you or not.
