"Inspect element" on Java UI

Hi everyone,
I was looking for tool on Java that does the same (similar) functionality of "inspect element" of "Google Chrome". Does anyone has information whether this is available and how it can be implemented?
The question refers to cases when you have the Source code and you don't know which part of the code generates which output. Thus, the idea is to inspect elements (objects) on UI while running code!
Sorry for asking this general question, but I need ideas regarding implementation of it.
Thank you!

We are using eclipse IDE debugger to trace the work flow of the code. You can set the break points in the code and can see the values of the populated variables.

  • When I right click on a report I need to run, I can not run it because a pop-up says "Back Forward Reload... Inspect Element ". How do I prevent this popup?

I have created reports in Wal-Mart Retail Link. To run the report, you right click on the report and a pop-up comes up that allows you to modify, submit, delete or share this report. These options are hidden by another popup that gives the options to Back Forward Reload...Inspect Element (Q). It runs correctly when using Internet Explorer but not Firefox.

Hello. You can't cast a string to an element, you need to create that element.

  • Inspecting element on Safari 7 does not show Web Inspector

When I run "Inspect Element" on Safari 7, nothing happens.  I don't see the Web Inspector and the page appears to lag a little bit.  I am running Mavericks 10.9.2 and Safari 7.0.3.

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

  • Inspect Element function no longer works

That's it ... updating to the latest version of Firefox didn't work, couldn't access the internet, so had to do a system restore. Now I cannot use "Inspect Element" function to remove irritating blank spaces in sub-windows. How to fix?

Using System Restore can cause your Firefox installation to get corrupted because only white-listed files are restored, so always be cautious with using System Restore.
*You may lose data in the Firefox profile folder like .js and .ini files
Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
*Download the full Firefox installer and save the file to the desktop<br>https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
If possible uninstall your current Firefox version to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove "personal data" when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data like bookmarks and passwords including data in profiles created by other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    *(32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    *(64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure NOT to remove personal data when you uninstall Firefox as that will remove all Firefox profile folders and you lose your personal data.

  • I am not a developer, how can I make "inspect element q" go away simply?

I am not a developer, how can I make "inspect element q", in the right click menu, go away simply and without interfering with anything? I, and I'm sure many others, don't need things to accidentally click and mar the smooth running of things. Thank you.

You could try this add-on: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/menu-editor/ Menu Editor]. If you try it, please post back on whether it works for this.

  • Right click Inspect element problem

    Hello,
I am using Developer Tools in Safari on daily basis, but what really bothers me is the fact, that when you right click an element and select "Inspect element" from dropdown menu, Resource Browser is opened but the actual line of code is not focused. What is focused is the last line of code you have inspected before.
Could this be fixed by Apple? Before I started using Macbook, I was using Google Chrome and this feature works there just fine.
    Thank you in advance.

  • Change in inspect element file has changed things and I don't know how to make it go back to normal

In Inspect Element I must have clicked on something because now I have little rectangular boxes with numbers and letters in them instead of icons. How do I fix this? When I close the window it does not go back to default setting.

If the little boxes look have two rows, each with two characters, that usually indicates that a downloadable font is blocked, and Firefox wasn't able to find the corresponding characters in a local font on your computer.
Changes made in the Inspector should be temporary, so try reloading the page. You can bypass the cache using Ctrl+Shift+r on Windows or Command+Shift+r on Mac.
If the problem continues, you might have blocked the source of that font. It would be helpful to back into the Inspector and look at one of those missing font characters and see if the needed font is listed there along with the site it is hosted on.

  • Native Inspect Element tool won't display CSS/elements along right-side of window anymore.

I recently updated to Firefox 20.0 and noticed that the native Inspect Element tool doesn't have an option to display the page css elements along the right-side of the window like it used to.
Is there a button somewhere I'm missing that allows this view?
I also noticed that I cannot hit escape to exit the inspector anymore.
Why would this option have been removed?
Screenshot of the issue explained a little better... http://exceptionalsheet.com/error.jpg

I agree with all the above - it's utter shite now. Before it was elegant and useful, now it's a waste of space.
How can I downgrade until those morons in your design department work this out?

  • Can't select & copy data from inspect element's tab - network

So, I'm trying to get a direct link to an image on website that deliberately tried to make it hard to get them.
    For example,
    http://www.heavy.com/games/2013/10/nycc-2013-best-video-game-cosplay-gallery/2/
So, I see the direct link to an image in this page - but I can't select it nor copy it (ctrl + c)
why??? What's the point of network tab in inspect element if you can't select anything there, except for what's in headers - but there's no link to the image there.

If you are copying it a URL of image embed in HTML, double click on the link in
    '''SRC=" ----------- Double click here ----------------------- "'''
then you will be inside the src section, you will be able to edit the link now
'''select it '''> '''From right click '''menu > select '''copy'''
    or
Press Control (Ctrl) + c on windows or linux (Command + C on mac)
If the image is embedded using CSS, click on the Link and do the same as said above.

  • How did "inspect element" get on my right click menu?

I did install several addons when this appeared. Anyone know from where this right click menu item came? My search suggested "firebug" - whatever that is. This is not on my XP but it is on my Vista and both have the same addons.

"Inspect Element" is a new item that is added in Firefox 10.<br />
Previous Firefox version do not have the build-in inspector.

In inspect element how do I add a new rule? I come from Chrome and this is a necessity for me.

I don't think that this is different in Firefox than in Google Chrome.
In the right pane, select the Rules tab.
Click the element {} line in "This element" (between the curly brackets) and type the property name.
Type a colon to separate the name and the value.
