Inspection Time in planning

Hi,
We are using CTM mfor Production Planning, inspection time is defined for the product in ECC.
The code for product before and after inspection activity is same, and no seperate operation is defined for product.
In ECC we are using standard process in QM for inspection. The issue is I want to capture the inspection time in planning while creating the planned order.
I can use GR processing time for that, but is this the only option or can anyone suggest an alternate method to model inspection time in APO.
Thanks & Regards,
Sanjog Mishrikotkar

Hi,
For basic scheduling of Planned Orders:
the time taken are 1. GR Proc time, inhouse prodn time and opening period defined in the schedule margin key.
For lead time scheduling of planned orders
the time taken are 1. Float after production, times from routing, float before production.
So i think you can map your inspection time with above timings.

  • Way to find CTM taking more time to plan a demand

    Hi,
Normally a demand in CTM gets planned in less than 1 second. But sometimes there are abnormailities may be because of Data or system and CTM takes more time to plan a demand. Is there a way or method to find why a demand has been planned in more time?
    Need your help
    Thanks
    Deepak

    Hi Deepak,
    1) Once the CTM run is started, it will record & execute all the events of the program mentioned in the function module and each event will be stored in the OPTIMISER TRACE FILE.
The trace files will be recorded in back end and you can check with basis team to help you in extracting & convert into your requirement form with suitable fields and you can develop a custom report on this so that you can execute on daily/weekly basis and analyse.  The trace file will be available only in optimiser server.
    2) The other areas that you can look at is /SAPAPO/OPT12 - Process Overview wherein u will get process related informations but not at very detailed level
    3) Check with basis team whether any database alerts can be developed if at all your CTM run gets strucks or extends for want of data or performance.
    4) Check the application logs/inbound/outbound queues/sysfails which will figure out any specific item containing errors.

  • Diff. bet PLANNING TIME FENCE & PLANNING HORIZON

    Hi all,
whats the diffrence between , planning time fence & planning horizon ?? where it use ???

time fence - like a fence beyond with in which some changes are not entertained.
horizon- will tell the system not to consider some requirement if the requirement date lies outside the horizon.
Horizon is defined at plant/mrpgroup/mrparea level
Time fence is defined at material level.
Fence is usually used in MPS scenario where in some special very important materials are considered and any changes may affect the company profit.
with time fence- i can make the system not to consider the change with in the fence, with horizon system considers the change with in horizon, not outside.
I hope now you are clear about the application of it.

  • What is meant by Time Phased Planning?

    Dear Experts,
What is meant by Time Phased Planning?
Pls tell me both functionally & how we do it in SAP...as i am an Abapper
    Kind Regards
    Sajid

    Dear,
If a vendor always delivers a material on a particular day of the week, it makes sense to plan this material according to the same cycle in which it is delivered, but displaced by the delivery time. This is possible with the time-phased planning procedure.
Materials that are planned using the time-phased planning technique are provided with an MPR date in the planning file. This date is set when creating a material master record and is re-set after each planning run. It represents the date on which the material is to be planned again and is calculated on the basis of the planning cycle entered in the material master record. For materials that are planned using the time-phased planning procedure, the two indicators, the total change indicator and the net change planning indicator are irrelevant. Therefore, they are not set by the system even if changes that are relevant to the planning run are made.
The system uses the interval between the MRP date and the availability date of the next MRP date for the requirements calculation in the planning run. Existing stocks must cover this interval. You must bear in mind that if nothing is ordered at the first MRP date, you have to wait for the next MRP date before you can plan and order this material again. Therefore, if an order proposal is created during this planning run, it will not be available until the end of the interval.
The requirements are calculated using the following formula:
forecast value for the interval (cycle + purchasing department processing time + planned delivery time + goods receipt processing time) + safety stock
    this may help u

  • Time Phased Planning

    Respected ,Gurus
I need configuration for Time phased Planning in sap pp.
if possible pls tell me step by step config.
i dont want link from sap help.
    Thanks  and Regards

When you say Time phased planning you are subjecting a material to be planned on a particular day and also ensure that it is delivered on a specified day again.
The Planning cycle field in MRP1 view serves as the planning one and the Planning calendar in MRP2 view serves as the delivery calendar.(Field Namings are a bit confusing here though).
So your wording that you are not using delivery cycle in your testing defeats the very purpose of TPP.
The reason why you do not see any impact after a MRP run is because for any TPP material the system sets up a Planning date in the Planning file entry that you can see in MD21 txn. For normal MRP type PD materials this field is not populated and remains blank and this field is specific for TPP only.
In this case the reference comes from Plg cycle calendar/MRP1. If you specify every Monday and Thursday as your periods in the calendar, assuming you set up the material today (25th Jan'12-Wed) the PFE entry gets updated automatically as 26th Jan'12 (Thursday).
If the TPP material is a component in a higher assembly and if you run a single-item multi-level planning on 25th Jan'12 it will plan only for your higher assembly and will not plan for your TPP cpt underneath.
You have the option of manually changing the planning date in PFE using MD20 for the date you require though and you can change that say to today the 25th Jan'12 and execute a single-item single-level run with MD03 and see the results. (After this the PFE gets updated again to the next planning date which will be again the 26th Jan'12 and after it is planned on 26th Jan'12 it gets updated to 30th Jan'12).
Thats the planning bit and similar thing holds good for delivery aspect that is referenced from the MRP2 calendar you key-in. If you say Friday is the only delivery day the procurement proposals created will have a Friday strictly as the delivery date.
Also TPP planning will not consider the entire horizon during which the dep reqmt exist for the component and thus differs again from conventional MRP which plans for entire horizon where it has to plan. Specify a lead time of 1 day for the component and ensure that there is a dep.demand existing on all days of a week and analyse the results with a scenario like above. Will be a good learning. Fun guaranteed:-)
And obviously the disadvantage of TPP is you will not find it attractive if you have dual sourcing in place for the same component.
Do let know if this information is of any small help.
    Happy TPP'ing...
    Cheers!!!

  • Time phased planning with planned orders

I'm trying to get time-phased planning (MRP) to generate planned orders after the lead-time up to the planning horizon. I cannot get this to work so perhaps I should explain the scenario to see if this is possible. (This is all finished goods procurement, no manufacturing).
    Scenario:
I have a DC in the US which gets supplied from a DC in the UK on a 4 week lead-time. MRP runs every week and generates a purchase requisition (converted to STO which gets picked and issued etc).
The DC in the UK gets supplied from vendors on average 3 month lead-time. I get forecast requirements from UK and EMEA regions (stores) and want to also have planned orders from the US DC so that the MRP run on the UK DC will add the total requirements together and give me vendor orders.
As you can see from the lead-times a single STO from the US DC doesn't give me demand over the total 4 month lead-time which means the UK DC doesn't order enough. If I could get planned orders to generate then it would all come together (simple DRP model?)
At the moment I'm working round it by running "PD" MRP first on the US DC and then changing the RP type and running time-phased MRP to get a single STO but this isn't perfect and means I have to run it manually every Sunday. (Also the logic is not quite the same between both methods).
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    many thanks
    Marcus

    Hi,
I'm using a copy of the R1 MRP type with the only change being that the "RP ind. forecast" configuration is set to G so that forecasts are included in the requirements calculation. I only have forecast values going out to the planning horizon so they need to be relevant.
I have planning and delivery cycles maintained along with lead times and goods receipt times also but no planned order generation.
Is there somewhere else I should check?
    thanks!

  • Inspection time Capacity Updation in work center for skipped lots

    Hi Guys,
I am using in process inspection type 03 along with DMR criteria at lot level i have defined the DMR rule and assigned it in routing header.DMR rule is inspection lot 1 in 5 will be inspected i.e when the inspection lot will be created and if there is no quality level exists it will first create the quality level with 1st inspection lot which will not be skipped lot and then it will skip next 4 lots and 5th will be inspected again.Quality level is updated during lot creation level.
what i am looking is when you have the skip inspection lot he capacity which has been planned for inspection for that work center should not be considered since there is no inspection done because of skipped inspection on that work center although it's the part of Routing/production process.
please let me know if any more inputs required.
    your inputs/feedback is really appreciated
    Regards
    Ashutosh Shende

    Hi Krishna,
It is distributing unevenly because of the Int. Dist. key maintained for "Labour" capacity category.
Following are the available dist keys.
I think for your scenario, you should select SAP020
SAP000     Overall load for latest start date
SAP010     Overall load for earliest start date
SAP020     Equal distrib. earliest dates, fact.cal.
SAP030     Equal distrib. latest dates, fact. cal.
SAP040     Equal distrib. latest dates, discrete
SAP050     Equal distrib. earliest dates, oper.time
SAP060     Equal distr. latest dates, operat. time
SAP070     Overall load at latest finish date
Please let me know if this works for you.

  • Execution Time & Explain Plan Variations

I have a scenario here. I have 2 schemas; schema1 & schema2. I executed a lengthy SELECT statement of 5 TABLE JOIN in these 2 schemas. I am getting totally different execution time (one runs at 0.3 seconds & the other at 4 seconds) and a different Explain Plan. I assume that, since its the same SELECT statement in these schema, I should get the same Explain Plan. What could be the reason for these dissimilarities? Oracle Version: 9.2.0.8.0. I am ready to share the Explain Plan of these 2 schemas. But they are of length around 300 lines.
    Thank you.

There are many factors come in to play here.
1.) Size of all tables involved are same
    2.) structures are also same
    3.) Also indexes are same
4.) Also stats are up to date on both
5.) Constraints and other factors are also same.
    regards
    PravinAnd a few more.
    6) session environments are the same
    7) bind variable values are the same - or were at first execution
I'd change 4 to read Optimizer statistics are the same. (not up to date which is a bit vague).
In short if you are using the CBO and feed in the exact same inputs you will get the exact same plan, however typically you won't get the exact same inputs and so may get a different plan. If your query has a time element and the two queries are hard parsed at different times it may actually be impossible to get the same input - for example the percentage of a table that is returned by a predicate like
timestamp_col > sysdate - 1 will be estimated differently depending on the time of parsing for the same data.
That all said looking at the plans might reveal some obvious differences, though perhaps it might be better to point at a URL that holds the plans given the length you say they are.

  • Automatic changing of activity start date and time of planned orders in SAP

    Hello experts,
I have a requirement that in the transaction /SAPAPO/SEQ1 for the list of planned orders what ever we get in the sap we have to swap the activity start date and time for two planned orders which we select automatically. For this I have found the BADI "/SAPAPO/SEQ_VISUAL01".
Now i am able to identify the two selected planned orders inside the BADI method SEQGRID_TOOLBAR_OKCODE_HANDLE.
Now my requirement is i have to swap the start date and time for these two planned orders automatically i.e. through BAPI or any FM.
Any idea of any BAPI or FM to change the details of the planned order.
    Thanks,
    Sanath.

    Hi Sanath,
Please check this BAPI BAPI_MOSRVAPS_SAVEMULTI3.  This Bapi has the provision of chaning Planned Order & Production Order Data. Also, you can explore more info on available bapis in the T-code 'BAPI'.

  • Hi All, please help me...Real time cube planning layout creation...

    Hi All,
Could you help me on below process please.
Iam working with BI7.0. I have real time cube (daily sales) and user need to access and update/add records accordingly.
So for this real time cube I have to create planning layout with the data. User can see that data and update/add.
I dont how to create planning layout (i heared that rsplan) how to show the data.
Also I need some help on ABAP, I need to map some fields from a table.
Actually from a flat file iam uploading data into ODS. In ODS has 3 more extra infoObjects.
Ex: Shopping mall code, tenent number and outlet number info i have to pick contract number from table with routine and pass that contact number into ODS one field. It means Contact number will not come from flat file, thats what need table and routine.
So for that I have to create one table (SE11) with all the information. and i have write routine.
I have to read flat file 2 fields( like A and B) and check the value in a table and get the value C and put into ODS one field. I have to do this with routines.
In the table have A, B and C values. Table also I have to create. so also please can u tell me some steps.
Could you please help on this. Also with process chains for this.
    Thanks in advance!
    anil

    Hi Anil,
If you go to RSPLAN there you can go to Portal link (it must be configured properly in system)
In portal there will be wizard where you can easily go step by step and create planning functions and sequences like below:
           1.      You choose the appropriate InfoProvider.
           2.      You create one or more aggregation levels.
           3.      You create one or more filters.
           4.      You create one or more planning functions.
           5.      You create a planning sequence.
           6.      You test the planning model.
which is clearly explained in below link
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/43/1d2440301a06f4e10000000a422035/frameset.htm
after doing this you can create a query on aggregates you have created above and then make query input ready i.e planning enabled for keyfigures you want like mentioned in below link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/43/1d023a41130bd5e10000000a422035/frameset.htm
then you can run query in Analyzer and save it as a work book after proper drilldown which can be used as template.
Hope you understood basic thing, as you going on doing u will know clearly every thing.
    Ravi

  • Start time in planned order

    Hi,
I am creating planned orders manually through MD11. I want that the start time for the planned should be 8.00AM rather than 00.00.00 which is coming as default and in grey.
Is there any method or doing so?
    regards,
    Mohit Goyal

    Mohit
for planned orders you cannot enter the timings directly. maitain the timings in Work center. or maintain shift definition, grouping and assign to work center.
then while creating the PL ordr enter the date and then click the schedule button in the tool bar ( first in the tool bar in MD11 screen) then you will get the timings in the planned orders.
thats al Hope this will solve your problem

  • First time I planned to buy a ipad Air. After seeing ipad Air having screen problems, dropped my plan. Planning to go for samsung Note 10.1 2014 edition.

First time in my life, I planned to buy a ipad Air. After seeing ipad Air having screen problems in the community, dropped my plan. Shall I go for for samsung Note 10.1 2014 edition otherwise wait for ipad Air 2.

For every iPad Air with screen problems there's a million that work fine.. If you buy at the Apple Store take a good long look and hand it back if it's not right.

  • Installing Leopard and new internal hard drive at same time, best plan?

Ok so basically the title explains what I need to do. I am currently travelling in Europe, and returning home to New York on Tuesday night. I have a new hitachi 250gb HD and will have Leopard waiting for me at home when I arrive, and will get right to doing this installation. I am writing on the discussion boards here because I am hoping the users here can give me their opinions on what is the best plan of action to do this whole install?
So what I was thinking was, I should remove the hard drive that's already inside, put it into an external enclosure. Then, put my new blank 250gb hard drive into the macbook pro, close up the computer, then put the Leopard OSX install disk, and do a completely fresh install of Leopard. Then, after installing (or during installing?) I should run the migration assistant program to get all my files and settings etc. transferred over to the new internal hard drive with Leopard on it, from the old hard drive that will be plugged in from an enclosure as an external drive.
Will this plan have any problems that I am not aware of? Is there a better process for doing this task? Any advice will be greatly appreciated! I am anxious to get my new hard drive into the computer because my 160gb is filling up, and dying so badly to use the new Leopard!!

You could also put the new disk in the external enclosure, partition it using disk utility. Then make a clone of your current hard disk to the new external one using the restore feature in disk utility. Boot from the external disk and Install Leopard as an upgrade keeping all your files and setting. check everything is all running how I should and swap drives over. That's another option for you.

  • Lead time in planning run

    Hi all,
If i have two vendors with differnt lead time for the same material, how can i manage this since in MRP run system considers leadtime maintained in material master, whereas i decide to place an order based on vendor leadtime.
    Regards
    Rang

    Hi,
Implement a proper BAdi/Enhancement which would called for MRP run. You will have to maintain material-vendor-leadtime data (or use the standard table if you maintained leadtime data) in a custom table and fetch the same at runtime in the BAdi/Enhancement.
    Ex.
    MAT1 VEND1 LT1
    MAT1 VEND2 LT2
You will have to use the leadtime according to material and vendor combination.
Please check this sample program from other thread to find BADI and enhancement for a given transaction code. You just need to create a custom program in your system by cut and paste below codes.

Alternatively, you can do the following:
    1. For what ever transaction u want the enhancement .. just check for the System-->status (menu) and find out the PROGRAM name....
    2. Double click on to the program name and go inside the program (Abap editor)
    3. Search for "Call Customer-function " ... and u'll get some search results .. If u get results then u have enhancement in that tcode .....
    4. Then it actually calls a Function module .... copy the Function module name .... go to SE80 (object navigator) click on "Repository Information system" then Customer Enhancements .... Give the Function module name in the "Components" field and click Execute ....
ull get a list of Enhancements related to that Componene....
    5. Choose which ever enhancement will suit ur business need ..
    6. Go to CMOD... create a project .... assign ur enhancement ... and then code ur logic.... activate ur enhancement in CMOD ....... Ur Buisness need will be solved...
    For a user exit......
Finding whether there is any User Exit or not for tcode VA42
    1. For what ever transaction u want the user exit .. just check for the System-->status (menu) and find out the PROGRAM name.... ( The program name would be for our scenario "SAPMV45A" )
    2. Double click on to the program name and go inside the program (Abap editor)
    3. Search for the word "USEREXIT" .... u ll find all the user exits in the search result .. and find ur's then ...
    Hope this will help.
