Install HP Printers

I have a new HP Officejet 6500A Plus that I am trying to install.  The HP installation software freezes and will not complete the installation.  What can be done to get the software to install?

Don't use the HP software. Use the install instructions as you would any other printer. You can find these at:

  • How can I print emails? Printing Error message that no printers are installed. (Printers are installed.)

When I click File > Print, I get a Printing Error message that no printers are installed. Printers are installed. When I click Yes to install a new printer, I receive a new error message that "Windows can't open Add Printer / The local print spooler service is not running. Please restart the spooler or restart the machine." I updated to the new version of Thunderbird 24.6.0. Using Windows 8. I restarted the machine. I confirmed printers are installed using Control Panel. I do not see any way to restart a print spooler. How can I fix this? Thanks.

The print spooler is a windows service and is required to print. I would hazard a guess you can not print with any application.
What I am saying is I think your windows instalation has a problem, not Thunderbird.

  • Can't install / find printers.

    Can’t install / find printers.
Mac newbie here. At home, my printer is on a network and my iMac finds it. Now i have a new iMac at work and I can’t find / install any printers from the network.
in the printer utility no default printers are listed.
I select More Printers, change my workgroup to my company group, and a list of users appear.
I select a user that has a printer i want access to and select the printer to which is listed to that user. I send a print job and nothing happens.
My old PC has a laserJet attached and I can’t even see that. They are shared as other users are able to use all the printers.
I would think this is due to either Windows environment, or the fact i’m network printing; however it works fine at home.
Any thoughts? They are all HP printers of various styles.
    Thanks!!!

Intel iMac Mac OS X (10.4.6) HP Printers shared on a network

I still can't see the printer on my old PC and printing to any other printer still generates no output, and the pending job of "Remote Downlevel Document" is in the queue.
I have a G5 iMac at home and have no problem finding a printer, over the network, to the PC. Although that is a Brother printer/fax/copier and I don't have any other brand printer to try in the office.
    Is this an HP issue?
Very appreciative of your continued help.

  • Printer policy keeps trying to install the printers on every policy refresh

    I have a number of machines(Win7x64 11.3.2) that have a printer policy
assigned to them that installs a few SMB printers but no drivers. I can
install the printers manually no problem. When the policy runs I get the
windows progress box for each printer every refresh. Also if the printers
have been manually installed the same progress box still comes up every
refresh. What is real bad is if the machine is not connected to our network
the policy runs and pops up error boxes that is can't install the printers
and if you cancel it it comes back shortly later.
I have other machines assigned to the same policy and don't have this
problem and no errors in the message log. I have deleted and recreated the
policy with no change. I think it started showing up after one of the ZCM
updates but no sure when. It seems more prevalent on machines that have
been around for a while and have gone through more updates
I see the following errors in ZCC in the message log for the affected
    devices.
The action printer policy (IDrinter policy) failed due to the reason :
partiallyFailedToEnforcePolicy, however the action is set to continue on
    failure.

Debug Logs should have the exact string.
I wonder if its a rights issue to those printers.
Are some devices in a domain and others not or perhaps in different device folders resulting in different rights to those SMB printers?
I reference device rights because these printers may be installing using device rights via the policy instead of user rights.
This would be why it works when done manually.
Also when done manually, verify the exact parameters you are using vs what is in the logs.

  • Installing Multiple Printers of Same Model on One Computer

I love the HP DeskJet Ink Advantage K109a.  I own four of these printers and would like to hook up two printers to one computer.  Could someone please tell me how to go about doing that?  Do I just install them individually or do I have to configure the USB ports separately?  Thank you for your help.

Yes. It's possible to have more than one backup of your iPhone on your computer. The backup is stored in this folder: Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup in your users profile. You have to disconnect your iPhone, navigate to the folder, move that folder to another part of your computer, and then plug your iPhone back in. This should create another backup in that folder. Then if you add the folder that you moved back in. You'll have two different backups. This is a link to the article where I got this info from. It also has the other places backups are kept on your computer.

  • Can't install any printers X10.6

When I try to install any printer in System Preferences>Print & Fax everything goes smoothly -- I click the + sign, find the printer I want then add it. However, it is then listed not by its real name (Canon iP3300) but as Adobe PDF 9.0.
If I try to print anything, the job appears for a second in the Print Queue, then disappears; text in the Print box says Starting Distiller, but nothing further happens.
If I re-name the printer manually, the icon changes from a generic printer icon to the proper Canon icon, but still nothing will print.
I have re-installed the printer, Reset the Printing System etc, still I can't print.
Canon have given up on me, saying tht this is Apple's problem, not theirs; Apple have given up on me, saying that it's Canon's or Adobe's problem, not theirs. I've read in the forums that there are problems installing printers under MacOSX10.6.8, but none of the threads seem to address my particular problem.
    Please, I'm getting desperate here!

    Okay, we have progress!
I brought my wife's Epson printer in and connected it up. The iMac automatically installed and selected the driver, and I can print to it.
Then I took my Canon printer into my wife's room and connected it to her PC; that automatically installed and selected the driver and printed to it.
So, the Canon printer is okay because a different computer can print to it, and my iMac is okay because I can print to a different printer... but I can't print to my Canon.
    Any idea what's occurring?

  • I can't install any printers

Two of my USB printers failed to show up on my printer list. After trying several times to get them working, I switched them out for two other printers. I used the install CD and all went well but the two newer printers still didn't show up on my printer list. I click on "add printers" and only my Dymo label maker shows up. I've unplugged power and the USB cable and still nothing. Help......

Hope these allow your system to see your printers again

  • "Fit to page" no longer updating after installing new printers

    Hi,
We recently had new printers installed. After that, the "Fit to page"-function (in the Print-dialogue) is no longer auto-updating. The content is moved slightly when printed - it almost looks like Illustrator doesn't register the correct unprintable areas.
If I select "Do not scale" followed by "Fit to page", the content automatically adjusts as it should.
It's a bit hard to explain, so I've uploaded a couple of pictures to illustrate it (I blocked out some info):
How it looks when printed (even if Fit to page is selected in print settings):
    http://i.imgur.com/eEaAWSK.jpg
How it should look when printed (and does, if I force AI to update by choosing Do not scale followed by Fit to page):

As you can see, the content clearly moves quite a bit.
Has anyone ever seen this before?

I have a brand new desktop with windows 7 64 bit installed. I have successfully installed a Photosmart C4585 All in One on it wirelessly, but when i try to install my Photosmart D5160 via usb using software from HP Website the C4585 is disabled and computer crashes on startup.

The fatal error you got with the B110a is caused by an .msi error. The document below should walk you through that.

  • 11.0.3 HPUX to 11.5.9 Linux post install - migrating printers

We are working on an Apps 11.0.3 to 11i upgrade and at the same time migrating from HPUX 11.0 to Linux AS 3.0. As part of this we have to move approx 100 printer definitions from HP to Linux. Is there any way this can be done "en masse" by updating configuration files or do they have to be setup one at a time? Any papers available on this?

    Hi John,
You can find the Upgradation doc with The document CD of Oracle APPS. Anyway you will require complete bundle of 11.5.10.2 Cds, there you can get a doc CD ...check it out there as well as check the Upgradation excel Sheet...When you will do the CRP1 and crp2 then note down the time of each activity so that it will give you fair idea about Production cut over time.
In my case I have done the upgradation from 11.0.3 to 11.5.9 including all the financial modules + OPM for pepsi international, It completed with in a 55 Hours(Prod cut over) . So Please follow the document religiously.
Wish you all the best my friend. If you have any problem you can share with us or mail me

  • Cannot install printers

I have a new Dell computer and a new model HP Pro 400 color laserjet printer. I crashed the computer during the HP software installation. I know what caused the crash so that is no problem. The software automatically uninstalled. Now I cannot
add almost any printer getting:"Unable to install printer. Operation could not be completed (error 0x000003EB)". By saying almost any printer, I mean I can go to Add Printer, select almost any manufacturer, select almost any model, select LPT1 or an IP port
(doesn't matter), and I get the error. The only exception is that I can install any PostScript printer. I can duplicate this problem on multiple computers as long as I get the right circumstances. I can probably fix this by reinstalling Windows, but I would
like to know what HP software changed, and I would like to fix it. I feel like this could be an easy fix if I only knew where to look. I've done all the usual things. I forgot to say that it looks like the drivers install, at least they show up in Printui
/s. I can delete the drivers. I called HP, they remoted in, and said the problem is in Windows because it will not install other printers. This is driving me crazy looking for a solution. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

This steps do work well for me.
Do them at your own risk.
Backup registry before you do anything!!!!
    Stop "Print Spooler" service first
Then base on your platform delete all keys below the version-3
    for 32 bit
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-3
    for 64 bit
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows x64\Drivers\Version-3
    go to the folder "3"
    C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3
    rename it to "3.old"
Start the "Print Spooler" again and install your printers

  • Printers not listed after printer profile installed

I've been enrolling a number of Macs in Profile Manager and trying to push printer configs out to the Macs. It seems to work well enough - the clients receive the printers and are able to print. But with the printer profile installed, no printers are listed in System Preferences > Printers & Scanners. I can see that the printers are present from the lpstat command and if I open a document or webpage and try to print, all printers are listed and usable. As soon as I remove the printer profile, printers are once again visible. This is happening on all client computers.
I have tried resetting the print system on clients (both through the UI and by just replacing /etc/cups/cupsd.conf and other similar files with their defaults), and this problem still occurs. I've also removed all profiles (including trust profile and enrollment profile) from clients, removed the computer from the server's config, removed printer profiles on the server, and then tried re-adding and re-applying a brand new profile. Still no luck. Even a brand new client with a brand new profile ends up with its printers being hidden in the System Preferences UI.
I suspect there must be something wrong on the server rather than on the clients, perhaps some file that I need to replace with default config, though I don't really know where to start looking.
Any ideas? All suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
    System Version: OS X 10.10.2 (Build 14C109)
Server Version: Server 4 (Build 14S333)

I have actually seen this as well but have no clue what causes this issue. It's annoying because I have also seen this happen where it will hide local printers.
