can anyone tell me how to install the nvidia 52.16 driver ?
Steps to install nVIDIA 52.16 WHQL drivers with MSI clock settings.
1: Install any MSI 4X.XX series drivers(44.03 first version).
2. Go to Device Manager.
3. Look under Display Adapter.
4. Double Click on your Graphics Card Indicator.
5. Click on Driver tab.
6. Click on un-install driver/remove driver.
(Please make sure that you've download the 52.16 nVIDIA driver and remember where you've keep the dowmloaded file.)
7. Restart system.
8. Log into Windows as normal.
9. Let Hardware detection auto detects for new hardware(VGA card) 1st.
10. Once New Hardware was detected and when you are prompt to install the driver, click on 'Cancel' to cancel installation from here.
11. Double Click on the downloaded 52.16 nVIDIA driver file.
(Note: This file will auto unzipped and prompt you to save the files, just save the files to your C: or whatever defaults it has given.)
12. Wait for the nVIDIA auto extraction and after extracting the file, you'll have to wait for around 30 secs for the Installation Wizard to guide you through the process.
13. Install the driver through this Installation Wizard.
14. Restart system after installation of the driver.
15. Right click on desktop> properties, to see if you can access MSI Information, MSI Clock and all other information. Check if the listed info are correctly stated.
(Please make sure that your see Driver Information under the MSI Information tab that the driver version is listed as X.XX.XX.5216[/u].
NOTE: Please kindly note that nVIDIA 52.16 does not allow clock settings to be keep after you've restart your system. It will suto reset everything to the card's default.

another question is how come my agp voltage is 1.5 and not 0.8v ??
If you've install your drivers with the above steps, you should see your AGP Traffic being Enabled at 8x unless your mobo is capable of handling 4x only.
Quote
Q3 ) how come the msi 45.32 and msi 45.33
Forget about the MSI drivers unless you really wants to keep the clock settings all the time, stick to nVIDIA ones, they update faster than any 2nd party drivers.
Quote
Same problem here.. I suppose we'll have to wait 6mnths for MIS to update there version of the 52.XX drivers....
Unless you really wants to keep the adjusted clock settings each time you bootup to Windows, else keep on with the nVIDIA ones. This 52.16 is a monster driver, giving a great boost of fps for the FX cards even at defaults

Looks like you can choose from :
-contact the maintainer to see if you can help with getting it to work with kernel 3.16
    - downgrade the kernel
    - switch to nouveau
Note that there are comments on the aur page that state nvidia-173xx doesn't work with xorg 1.16, so you may have to downgrade more then just the kernel.

Using an Nvidia GeForce 210 card. I had this same error in Antergos. I think I tried to uninstall nouveau and couldnt get the nvidia driver installed after, so I didnt want to break this system. Any other info needed? I didnt see this error in the troubleshooting section of the install walk-through in the wiki.

Can you switch to another terminal with Alt-Ctrl-F2? Please check the logs and systemd's journal.
Did you install nvidia or nvidia-lts?

  • Not Able To Install Nvidia Graphics Drivers

    Hello all!
This past week I just finished putting my new system together with a K8N Diamond Plus. Only major problem right now is i am not able to install Nvidia's drivers. Below are my components...
    XP 64-Bit Edition
    MSI K8N Diamond Plus
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
    BFG 7900 GTX 512MB
    1 Gig Coirsar Ram
2 Wester digital HD in Raid 0
When I try and install the graphics drivers i get the message " The NVIDIA Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit."
I used the chip set drivers listed here: http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/driver/dvr/spt_dvr_detail.php?UID=710&kind=1
Also I have tried the ones from NVIDIA's site: http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_nf4_winxp64_x16_6.83
The graphics drivers i used are from NVIDIA's site: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp64_81.98.html
BFG Tech support guy had me look under display adapters in device manager. It only has Standard VGA Graphics Adapter listed. He said I did not have my chip set drivers installed (though i have), or the motherboard was not recognizing it. Also he said they do not support XP-64 and would not offer me any more support so long as i run it.
I just can not believe that XP 64, 7900 GTX, and this great K8N Diamond Plus can not get along.
Any advice anyone has for getting my Diamond Plus and my graphics card to jive together would be greatly appricated.
    Thankyou all!!

Thankyou guys for the responses. I was able to find drivers that worked with my card here..
    http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/index.php?drivers&series=80&os=2&type=1&dir=1
Now my only current issue left is that I have no sound. It is enabled in the BIOS, installed the 64-bit drivers from MSI site, tired installing drivers off disk. Any suggestion?

  • Installed Nvidia Driver Problems?

I recently installed Nvidia Ge-Force 5200FX Driver onto my computer and it changes my video bit from 16-Bit to 4-Bit and i cant change back anyone know how i can change it back without uninstalling the driver.

There is one thing you do not seem to have understood so far:  This forum is not a general hardware forum but offers help and advice for MSI Retail products only.  You were using an MSI MS-6590 KT6 Delta mainboard in your other thread.  That is the only reason why we replied to your questions about an unknown video card model in the first place (even though the lack of a video driver for an unknow card has not much to do with your mainboard.
Now you are asking us about some NVIDIA driver issue regarding the "same type of [non-MSI] graphics card" but in a "different computer".  You provided no useful information about your system configuration whatsoever (no information about your operating system, no information about the exact driver version, no information about why you installed an NVIDIA driver even though the unknow video card seems to be an old ATI model, etc.)  I see nothing that relates to any MSI Retail product in the context of your driver question.  I am locking this topic.
If you find one reason why I should re-open your topic and not advise you to look for help in a general hardware forum (there are tons of those out there on the net) write me a PM and tell me what this has to do with MSI Retail products.  I will than gladly unlock this thread.  Until then:

  • Unable to boot arch after re-installing nvidia

My system is x64. I have Ubuntu installed along with Arch on a different partition. After having installed arch with some (probably redundant) nvidia packages, I decided to remove them by installing packam -S nvidia nvidia-uitls.
I had to remove mesa-(something or just mesa, I don't remember) and xf86-video-nouveau. So I installed nvidia nvidia-uitls successfully. Plus after that I installed xfce-settings because as I found out it should have resolved the issue of gnome-terminal. and I added this to xorg.conf:
    Section "Extensions"
        Option "Composite" "Enable"
    EndSection
The bottom line is, I can't boot to arch anymore. Only standard label on the black screen shows up (kvm: disabled by bios) and nothing else happens, meaning it kind of "boots" but it doesn't boot further than showing that label. What can I do?

Is there anyone who have managed to install nvidia optimus GT 630m in ubuntu or any other OS linux and worked?? coz I did all the methods which are available on net, but no luck, found out that Bumblebee can't get to enable Nvidia!! is it right??
How to switch graphic card? does it have an option to switch card in BIOS??
Need a help to install nvidia on ubuntu!! I'm using linux ( ubuntu 12.10and kernel 3.6.0)
I appreciate your help and thanks

    Hi RedStar
To be quite forward with You: there is very few details that can be used to help You.
Suggestions from me: You say there are errors. Great. But what are the error messages.
When asking for help, please try to put yourself in the position of the people you are asking help from.
THey need details and relevant information to be able to help.
They probably know very little of your specific situation.
Stating things like "it doesn't work" is simply not enough.
"there are errors" - well ok. That lets people know that something is not running on rails....but what?
And vague details are also not enough. Provide the exact messages! Copy & Paste if You need to.
Anyway, I suggest that You issue bug reports on the Bumblebee site for a better support since they probably are the best to help You.
    https://github.com/Bumblebee-Project/Bumblebee/wiki/Reporting-Issues
BTW - thanks for enlightening me on the Bumblebee project! I was not aware of this until You told me :)
Good luck and please report your progress back into this thread. I am sure many people are interested in your experiences. I am!

  • I have installed nvidia graphics drivers on windows 7 (bootcamp) now i can't use windows, it's just a black screen, how do i resolve this?

I have installed nvidia drivers from nvidias website for my geforce gt 650m on my early 2013 macbook pro retina 15", now i can't use windows in bootcamp, whenever i go into windows it turns into a black screen before i can see my desktop. How do i resolve this?

From the home screen, double click the home button to bring up the Recently used App list. Find the App with the problem and hold your finger on it untl the Apps start to shake. When that happens tap on the (x) on the right side corner of the app to close it.
Tap the home button again to get back to the home screen, and try to open the App again.
If that doesn't work, try resetting the iPad. (there should be no data loss):
Press and Hold the Power and home buttons until the Apple Logo shows up. Ignore any sliders that may appear.
When the iPad turns back on, try opening the App again.

    hi
i have nvidia geforce 8400 gs card, after i uninstalled all other drivers, installed nvidia,nvidia-utils, then nvidia-config,then installed vpdau-video,then restart
i noticed that hardware and deamon checks screen after boot became huge letters as if no driver installed yet, and when i run lxterminal i noticed black window on the top left of the screen exactly the same size as the terminal window, and when i browse using chromium and the page contains flash video, the video window image stays on the screen.

I think current nvidia driver is broken - I have these black windows at some rare situations also (under KDE without effects; no under OpenBox). IIRC, nvidia developers mentioned somewhere in Arch bugs system they are aware of the problem.

Don't run 'pacman -Sy foo' - it may lead to breakage https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=89328
    Are you using [testing]? http://mailman.archlinux.org/pipermail/ … 21479.html
