Installation issue - cant find JDK
When trying to install Designer (I have Developer installed) I keep getting a message from the Installer saying it "could not find an installed JDK". I have manually edited the path environment variable adding the path of the jdk as well as creating a java_home environment variable to no avail.
What is it looking for?

The above is because I have another version of Oracle in my desktop. What does that have to do with browser admin not comingup.
I was over enthusiastic when I installed 10g EE and raptor. I think i should restart fresh and install just the 10gEE. THe problems could be coming from raptor installation. -
Cant read installation CD - Cant find microph
I just got my new x-fi extremegamer card and right away had problems. I have en PC with Windows Vista Business edition on it.:The PC could not read the CD properly. When i inserted the CD it prompted me as if it was a blank writeable CD wanting me to label and prepare it for burning which i ofcourse aborted. No matter what i did i could not get it to read the CD. I suppose there is software onthe CD i dont get by simply downloading the vista drivers, right?2:Then?I went to creatives homepage, found the vista driverpack downloaded and installed it. Now it works. However, I can only get the soundcard to "turn on" my microphonr in the headset when i set the card to "Audio Creation Mode". This is not cool since i want to use my headset to talk to my friends over ventrilo or teamspeak while?we play games together. I want to be able to do this too when i set the card to "Game Mode". I cant figure out how to do this. Can anyone help me out here?

I suspect that your optical drive has a hardware problem. The calibration error indicates that the laser is no longer able to accurately read the CD or DVD.
You could try cleaning the lens with a suitable cleaning disc, and if this does not improve the situation you could try to remove the optical drive in Device Manager, and then re-install it.

Problem with JDK 6 update 5 - Error Message says cant find java compiler
Hi i am a complete beginner to programming and i am having trouble with the latest java development kit. jdk 6 update 5.
The problem is i have set the path and the program cant find my compiler.
I have installed the latest java development kit 6 update 5 on my windows xp machine.
I have created a simple program as shown below:
class Hello
public static void main(String[] args)
System.out.println("Hello from java");
saved the file to my desktop as Hello.java
I have set the path variable like so:
Go to control panel then click system icon then click advanced tab then click environmental variables.
Now in system variables the path is shown as this - %SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_05\bin;C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTSystem\;c:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\90\Tools\binn\
I then add this to the end;C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_05\bin
This is the location to the things like compiler, applet viewer etc.
No in the command prompt i type javac Hello.java and i get this error message:
C:\> javac Hello.java
javac: file not found: Hello.java
Usage: javac <options> <source files>
use -help for a list of possible options
The jdk is installed properly im sure but it can find my compiler.
What mistake have i made in setting the path because im guessing that is related to the problem?

I suggest you make a directory C:\java and save your source file there rather than on the desktop. In the command prompt, enter cd \java to make it the current working directory and then enter javac Hello.java.
@Pravin: The question is about compiling, not running. CLASSPATH has nothing to do with this problem.

Actually I have 2 problems: I cant find my pdf/ibooks on computer after backing up my iPad (they are on my iPad). I looked under Ipad, I Books, PDFs, and it doesn't show them on the computer. How do I manually transfer these files?
Also, I'm having issues with my Ipad turning off about every 2 minutes, and I want to restore it. I want to make sure all of the files are backed up before I restore. My trouble started when I was trying to update my IPad but it was taking too long (internet was scetchy) so I powered off...now Im having problems. I haven't tried to update again since this problem. Any suggestions? Should I restore? Should I update to 7.0.6? (currently 7.0.3).

Reinstalling Lion Without Erasing the Drive
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. One of our PXE point get some issue, I could not set my finger on it.
I could not find any log file and I expect an smspxe.log in D:\Program Files\SMS_CCM\Logs (Primary site server) so I think something is wrong. The PXE worked after I put .Net 4 on the server.
Is it a secret what you're missing? How should we help you if you don't tell the exact problem?
No secret but I am not sure by my self what state the DP server have.

AnyConnect installation issues - Network Adapter is not created - cannot find any error?
I am a contractor with a Federal Agency that just swithed to using Cisco AnyConnect for VPN access. I am about the only person with this installation issue, that I know of. When installing the AnyConnect client on a Windows 7 machine running a 3.X msi install - the expected Cisco NewWork Adapter is not created in Network connections as I would expect. I have turned off Firewall services, I've turned off SQL services, Citrix, etc. But nothing I have tried allows this to install correctly.
When I attempt to use the AnyConnect VPN client and login the the remote service - I receive the

I have attempted the driver database fix suggested online - BUT it didn't correct the problem because I think my problem is in the initial setup, although I cannot find and error in the Windows/inf/setupapi.app.log and setupapi.dev.log that would suggest there is an driver problem.
The DART logs are a bit cryptic, but nothing stands out that would give me any idea as to what might be blocking the creating of the Network adapter the VPN Client would use to connect to the remote network.
Can anyone here point me in the right direction - I am not receiving help from configuration management - their solution is to format my entire computer and rebuild it which will cost me weeks of time and I have a deadline looming in Feburary.

The Interface that connects to the Internet, needs to be drug to the top of System Preferences>Network>Show:>Network Port Configurations and checked ON.
10.5.x/10.6.x instructions...
System Preferences>Network, click on the little gear at the bottom next to the + & - icons, (unlock lock first if locked), choose Set Service Order.
The interface that connects to the Internet should be dragged to the top of the list.

Then highlight the interface you connect with, click Advanced, is it set to Using DHCP, what IP does it Show & Router IP, then click on Proxies tab & make sure none are set, click on the DNS tab and enter these numbers...

How can I get the SJSAS PE 9.0 to start running under SuSE 10.1 on AMD64? The installer complains about not being able to find a suitable JRE even though I have JDK 1.5.0.06 installed. I even tried the the -javahome directive but nothing happened. I updated the JAVA_HOME variable so that it refers to the directory where the JDK is installed. Moreover, I updated the PATH variable so that JAVA_HOME/bin is the first directory in the list.If you are pointing installer to 64 bit JDK installation, its version won't be properly recognized by installer (note that this platform is not on the supported platform list).

Facetime is not in the App store. It is part of the iOS. You access Facetime on the phone via the contact section. Facetime needs to be activated in Settings. The only reason you may not have it is if you purchased the device in an area where Facetime is prohibited by law.
