Installation mySAP ERP 2005 on Linux SuSe 10

Hello,
I tried to install mySAP ERP 2005 on Linux Suse 10 with 8 GB RAM and enough harddisk space (6 x 250 GB) as a central system. But the Installations stops always in the "Import Abap" step with jobs:
running 3 , wating 22 , completed 13, failed 0 , total 38
No errors are written to the logfiles and there is no progress in the installation, so I have to stop it manually.
Can anyone help me?

Upgrade batch inputs from 4.6C to mySAP ERP 2005

we are planning to upgrade from 4.6C to mySAP ERP 2005 (ECC 6.0). We are using batch input/call transaction in various (interface) programs (primarily in modules SD, MM, CS/SM, FI, CO). I would be grateful for any information that helps to estimate the effort to upgrade our batch input code. In which areas/modules/transactions did you encounter problems with batch inputs? How severe were these problems (one or two fields moved to another screen, or major redesign)? How did you address these problems (change BI or convert code to use BAPI)?

we were working on batch input's and our scenario is something like convertion of bdc's from 4.5b to ECC5. well, it was a long process of upgradation. and coming to the part of BDC's
Q) any information that helps to estimate the effort to upgrade our batch input code.
   we had 300 BDC's to convert from 4.5b to ECC5 and with a ten member team of ABAP experts it took us 30 working days to complete the process.
Q) In which areas/modules/transactions did you encounter problems with batch inputs?
   Mostly, we had problems from FI and something like in Revenue recognition process. The problems comes, when the whole transactions screens changes for the process. at this time we have to write completly a new BDC's. if we have right functional specifications and functional experts, it will be easy to convert BDC's.
Q) How severe were these problems (one or two fields moved to another screen, or major redesign)?
    As i have mentioned, out of 300 almost 25 to 50 were minor changes rest were huge changes. a completely new BDC's. the point here is, we were updating from 4.5b to ECC5. it might not be this scenario for 4.6c to ECC5
Q) How did you address these problems (change BI or convert code to use BAPI)?
   well, this is were we are curently working now. and curently there are 4 scenarios (and may be more in the future) were we have to replace three BDC's which are used for material master creation and make it into one bapi satisfying all the conditions of BDC's. actually, we have to find a BAPI( which i couldn't find) so, i have created a bapi. and tougher part is writing exceptions as we cannot write exceptions as we do in function module.

For Functionality Differences pls refer to the below site -

After opening the site, please select the Source Release Version which is 4.6 b Then Select the Target Release Version which is "mySAP ERP 2005" or ECC 6.0
Select the Solution Area like Financials, Human Capital Management, Sales....
Select module like MM, PP, SD, QM.....
Click on Search
Then it displays the Release Version and the Delta Functionality. which can be downloaded to a word document if required.
and also check the release notes of ECC 6.0 in service.sap.com.

In all honesty, your two questions are very hard to quantify. Though we keep track of customers who download a software, they are not committed to install it nor do they have to tell us when they have successfully done so. And, trying to predict what customers will do for the next year is like trying to predict your stock's performance. Of course SAP desires for that number to increase!

LSMW after Upgrade on mySAP ERP 2005 is Fields lost

We use LSMW version 4.0.0. After Upgrade of 4.7 on mySAP ERP 2005 parts of Fieldmappings are no longer present. Project concerned has the following characteristics: Business Object method BUS1001006 method SAVE DATA. Use Extension E1BPPAREX/E1BPPAREXX The Fieldmapping to the Extension is missing. Unfortunately the 4.7-System is not present, so that I cannot make from the system a reconstruction.

Did you ever discovered what happened ?? I have the same problem for Bussiness Object method BUS1001006 method SAVE DATA, I am using version 4.0.0 , of the LSM Workbench from 08/31/2004.
Part of the fieldmapping was missing, only the header mapping remained.
But no upgrade has been performed, the only movement has been an upgrade from kernel 7.01 level 23 to 88.
I have assigned the mapping in QA tested and imported it to PRD, it now works, but a big question is, what happened to the mapping ??
Why is it missing in all the systems ??
I would sure like to find out, just to take precautions and make sure it does not happen again.
If anybody can help me out there, I would sure appreciatte it.

MSS Implementation on mySAP ERP 2005 & Portal 7.0

Does anyone know what has happened to the appraisals functionality in MSS BP 1.0 mySAP ERP 2005?
The BP documentation indicates that the Appraisals Overview, Edit Appraisals, Appraisals Inbox & Status Overview functionality has been replaced by the new Appraisals iView with an underlying application to support it.
The new appraisals iView will display appraisals overview data but there seems to be no way of creating, editing or generally interacting with the appraisal documents once they are displayed in the table.
Am I missing something here (i.e. the other iViews have not been fully migrated to Web Dynpro and still require HTMLB) or am I just missing some back end config / implementation steps somewhere in ERP 2005?

I wondered if there was a way to configure the 'Employee Search' iview by linking the HAP_STATUS columns in the OADP config to a BSP service, but there's no documentation on how to start on this.

Need info on PCR's in mySAP ERP 2005

Is it possible for PCR's in mySAP ERP 2005 to directly update SAP after the 2nd level manager approves instead of assigning workflow to HR Administrator?

Yeap - that is actually a pretty common request to have certain or all PCR updates automatically executed!
The development effort for each PCR is basically based on the data that is on the PCR. If you only have a couple of infotype fields to update then it should be rather quick (2-3md). Transfer PCR's cover normally more complex scenarios especially with org. structure changes and pay changes involved. It is important to undertstand that you will most likely have to execute several commits and if errors occur you need to have a strategy on the rollback mechanism. Please also note that PCR's can take quite a long time before they are ready to update the backend. You need to check if any data has changed from the time the manager created the PCR and/or approver approved it to the time it is finally ready to update the backend - and then have a strategy to manage any inconsistencies. Using the application log is a good way to monitor the updates to the backend and to check on errors. If you want full automation triggered by WF then you need to have also a mechanism in place where you can restart the update process in case something goes wrong. Sometimes semi-automatic makes more sense because you can build an interactive FM that tells the HR admin what is happening during execution and it can be restarted anytime!

does anyone know, or can give me a link, which ES Bundles (or Enterprise Services) where delivered with the first release of mySAP ERP 2005? I know they are around 300.
On the ES Workplace are all ES listed (and also the previews of the next EPs?), but with no distinction.
The ES-Wiki gives specific information on the ES Bundles in the Enhancement Packages, but not for the first release.

It seems to list the deployed ES (and has a good technical explenation too!). However I still have the question if there were any ES Bundles deployed or defined in the first release. This <a href="https://websmp109.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000071822007E">presentation</a> shows for example, that the Credit Management Bundle has Entperprise Services from the first release as well as from EP 2005.1. But I am assuming there were none defined.
Does anyone have a clue about this?

SES in mySAP ERP 2005 - UNKNOWN FUNCTION from TREX_RFC_GET_VERSION_INFO

After configuring the SES (TREXADMIN, RFC Destination and so on) I was able to run the indexing process successfully.
Selecting the TAB Version from the TCODE TREXADMIN I get the Exception: UNKNOWN FUNCTION from the Function Module call TREX_RFC_GET_VERSION_INFO in TREX_EXT_GET_VERSION_INFO.
The exception is not expected and a dump occurs.
Running a search via TREXADMIN (e.g. for LFA1) I'm getting the Exception OTHERS in FM TREX_EXT_SEARCH_DOCUMENTS at line 338 CALL FUNCTION 'TREX_RFC_SEARCH_DOCUMENTS_V3'.
Any idea?
Which TREX version is expected to work with mySAP ERP 2005? I installed all together from the same NW2004s DVDs.

Correct, ERP05 is based on NW04s (TREX 7.0).
You don't necessarily need TCODE TREXADMIN.
For running SES you can use TCODE SES_ADMIN.
To test SES you can use Program COM_SE_SEARCH_IIF_TEST
(You can start it using TCODE SE38).
In order to get the exception fixed, could you create a customer message in the Customer Support System (CSS) on the component BC-TRX-API, please.
