Installation of ST-RDS 100

Hi All,
I want to install ST-RDS 100 support package in BW environment. I found that it need to install Solution Manager Tool (ST) first. Is that I need to install and configure the whole Solution Manager 7.0/7.1 first? I cannot find the installation source in SAP Market. I can only find Solution Manager 7.1 HANA. Could you advise which installation guide and Notes I can reference. Many thanks.

Hi
Have you checked the standard documentation for this .....
Rapid Deployment Software | SAP
https://websmp206.sap-ag.de/rds
Basically you need to use solution manager project to deploy via templates provided by SAP with RDS.
if you go through the documentation you will get the idea
hope this clarifies.
Thanks

  • Installation on Dell PowerApp 100 - No Disks

I am receiving the following error while attempting to install Solaris 8 on my Dell PowerApp 100.
"No Disks meet the criteria in the Solaris installer documentation found."
The server is listed in the Hardware Compatibility document as having Level 1 support.
I have tried using both the diskette and the CD-ROM to boot and install and receive the same message. I have also downloaded the latest Device Configuration Assistant (10/01) and used to to boot.
The following device is found during the device search:
    Adaptec 29160/N/LP Ultra160 SCSI HBA
The following drive is listed as a potential boot source during installation:
    Target 0:Quantum Atlas V 9 WLS 0201 on Adaptec 29160/N/LP Ultra160 SCSI HBA in PCL Slot 2
It would seem that since the drive is listed as a potential boot source that the installer is able to see the drive, so I'm getting a little miffed as to why it can see it to install.
Thanks for any suggestions you can provide.

During the printer setup, using the provided windows CD or via the Internet, after requesting for printer connection through the USB cable, the progress indicator stops at 99 percent and gives "fatal error". What do I do?

    Hi @jacobumoru,
I see that you are getting a "fatal error" during the installation. I will certainly do my best to help you.
I have provided some steps that should allow you to continue the installation without the error again.
Run the installation, immediately after connecting the USB cable, follow the steps in this document to update the drivers so it doesn't error out again. A Fatal Error Displays During Software Installation. Then the installation should continue. Temporarily turn off any Antivirus Software, just to make sure it doesn't interfere with the install.
I have provided a document for Windows 8, for How do I get into Windows Device Manager?

    best regards

    Hi Omar,
The BE6K-SW-9.X product code that you refer to is really just a package level identifier.  The disks you have are in fact the correct ones.
When you use the UCM/SME/BE/UNITY Connection DVD (which is the disk version of the Bootable_UCSInstall_UCOS_9.1.1.20000-5.sgn.iso image you deleted) you will be presented with a number of install options.  Provided that you use the correct OVA files - you should be offered the choice of UCM, Unity Connection or ELM.  You may see BE5000 listed as an invalid choice.
For the BE6000, you will be using the standard UCM installation.  There is no BE6000 specific option to choose.
BTW - when installing the BE6000 you need to create separate virtual machines for UCM and Unity Connection - both of these include the Enterprise License Manager (ELM), so no need to install that separately.  Again, step by step instructions for installing the server are available at the link above.

  • Quicktime installer thinks that I have a newer version installer

Thanks in advance for any help.

I had iTunes (not sure of the version any more). I had problem
with ipod not being recognized. I tried to upgrade iTunes.
The installer seemed to work, but would not run. I then

  • Can't uninstall a network installation (Version: WebLogic 8.1 for Windows)

    Hi,
As described in the above subject, I encountered an error when trying to uninstall
WebLogic 8.1 for windows, which is installed from another computer (WINXP) thru
    network.
The installation executes on the remote machine. When asking the location for
BEA home, I specify a path on a network drive , something like z:\bea.
(z: is the drive of the computer I want weblogic to be installed. I do this because
it only has enough space for the final installation, but not together with the
    temporary files)
It seems that everything goes well, although the links in "Program Files" are
created on the remote machine only. However, when I want to uninstall it, I encounter
    problems.
First, when using the "add/remove programs" way, it complained that it was not
able to find the path to javaw.exe. I paste the full command Z:\bea\jdk141_03\bin\javaw.exe
    -Duninstall.dir="z:\bea\weblogic81\uninstall" -jar "z:\bea\weblogic81\common\lib\uninstall.jar"
and then it went on. Splash screen and the first wizard screen appears afterwards.
However, when I pressed "Next", a prompt appeared, with message ":[z:\bea]".
The same message appeared in console mode uninstallation.
Is there anyway to solve this problem? Thx!

    Hi,
I tried to replace all "Z:" to "C:" in registry.xml and re-uninstall again, but
    that doesn't work.
Actually the thing I want to happen is only to remove the current (and somehow
faulty?) installation. Is it 100% ok to just remove all the files manually?

It sounds like the install was done on one machine and you are trying
    to uninstall from
another. If that is true ...
Check the contents of the registry.xml file and see if the environment
    variables match
those of the machine you are working on. In particular, the items that
    specify host
    names and install directories.

  • Post-Installation Process Error (Template Base)

    Hi Experts,
I try to run template base post-installation process in client 100, we never run post installation process in client 001 (Which is recommended before making the client copy), while doing template base post-installation process failed (got error) at PIPostInstallProcess step 7 u201CAdd Installed Product2u201D I move further and then it failed at step 19 (u201CConfigure the Role of the Integration Serviceu201D) and 20 (Register Queues) same process. It failed at number of process, so what I did I move to manual post-installation process but I stuck in the step were we need to import exchange_profile.xml because I can not see this file at sap\BX0\SYS\global, is this file being deleted by template base post-installation if yes then how to recover it?
Without this file i can not complete the manual post installation process...:-(

i think we do not need exchange_profile.xml file in 7.0 post-installation. ok i skip that step in post-installation now when i created LCRSAPRFC_BX0 in Visual Admin services->JCo RFCProvider and try to start it, it is throwing an Error.

  • Solaris 8 installation in MS Virtual pc

Hi everybody ,iam new to solaris environment.Iam installing Solaris8 in virtual pc.
The message its showing is :please specify the media from which you will install the solaris operating environment.
I have selected the cd/dvd option as the source is the .iso image of the solaris s/w i downloaded from sun site.
But it is giving the same message even when i tried all the 3 CD images.
Can anybody suggest ....Thanks in advance.

Unless you have a specific need for solaris 8, solaris 10 x86 is much more installation friendly and is 100% backward binary compatible. Solaris 8 requires the DCA diskette (device config assistant) which is a floppy image.
Again, unless you have a reqirement for solaris 8, 10 is easier (no DCA, direct cdrom access, just works).
Another typical problem people experience with all of these downloads, though, is that they are not using the free Solaris Download Manager to retrieve the CD images. More often than not, when people get cd boot problems, it's not a good download. SDM can do connection retries, etc.

  • SAP add-on installation

Hi experts. Sorry in advance (dunno if it is correct place for this question)!
I have created add-on installation (It works correctly 100%, already was implemented).
Data base on current system was restored and now when I try to install this .pat file in SAINT transaction I have following error :
      -   Error in phase: CHECK_REQUIREMENTS
      -   Reason for error: QUEUE_NOT_EMPTY
      -   Return code:
      -   Error message:
I have triyed to run OCS_RESET_QUEUE function module, but it did not help.
Thanks for any information in advance!

The correct space would have been SAP NetWeaver Administrator or SAP NetWeaver Application Server. Anyway, there must be something in the transport directory (e.g. /usr/sap/trans) indicating that the request(s) are still being processed. Did you confirm the queue when you previously installed the add-on? Before the system restore?

I am new to XI and I am installing XI on a Windows 2000 server. I am done with the installation part....(web as ABAP+Java add in + newtweaver XI Component)....Now I am in the post install configuration steps....
My question is that...when I did the install of WEB AS ABAP...I did a local client copy and created client 100 (UCSV Profile)....now I am not sure why I had to create this client 100? Can some one tell me what is the use of this client 100.
Second question is that for the post installation configuration, should I create all the RFC's and SLD Configuration etc in Client 000 or should I do all this post installation configuration in client 100?...
    Please help me.....
    Thanks,
    Madhu

Today I successfully started XI IB. I had two troubles and solutions as follows:
    1. In our Co, we have a proxy server, so after installing j2sdk142, I need change the settings of java web start. Open Java WS directly then click cancel until the log in window disappears. Change the proxy settings to what you need.
    2. Please assign all the needed roles for XI into your user account. Even if you are an user with the profile of SAP_ALL, you need add the needed roles into your account.

  • Installation Oracle 8i TNS error

I am trying to install Oracle 8.1.7. on windows 2000 OS. I have installed Oracle before but never had the problems I am having now.
I am installing it through a Remote Desktop Connection. I used the typical installation option. At 100% of the installation, it hangs on the net8 optional installation. When I am trying to create the database with the database configuration assistent I get an TNS error while initializing the global database. ORA-12560 TNS protocol adapter error.
What could be the problem here?
    Marco

I've never tried installing Oracle 8 on Windows XP machine, so I don't know. And Oracle does not provide download link for software they don't support (like Oracle 8.1.7), </br></br>
So your options are upgrade your existing database or try searching 8.1.7 version. I presume you don't have 8.1.7 version, either way you need to upgrade your database anyway.</br></br>
Give Oracle Express Edition(it's free) a try, using it you can fully utilize advance ODP.NET feature like Database Change Notification. If you choose to download Oracle Enterprise Edition, Oracle won't charge you if you use it only for development purpose.</br></br>

  • Flex Builder 3 installation hanging on Mac OS X Leopard

    Hi,
Excited to get going with the tutorial. Slightly disappointed by the installation of the Flex Builder 3 on my Mac OS X Leopard installation. I followed all instructions, ensuring that I closed all my open apps beforehand. The installer has been sitting at the "Installing..." stage with the message "Please wait, Abdobe Flex Builder 3 is being configured for your system. This may take a moment...". It's been displaying that for 20 minutes now, so I think it's safe to say it's not going to come back.
Looking around for clues, I can see another windowtitled "Flash Player 9 Silent Installer" which has a 100% blue progress bar below a label "Iterms remaining to be installed: 0"
Recommendations anyone? Am I safe to force quit the installation and retry? All tips welcomed!
    Stuart

It sounds like you have (or had... this was a month ago) the same problem as me. My solution is posted here: http://forums.adobe.com/message/4052808

  • Having trouble installing Catalyst!!!! Installer won't initialize!!!!

    I am using a Mac.
I downloaded Flash Catalyst Beta 2 four times and each time the "initializing installer" window that first appears when launching the install file from the disk image, nothing happens. The blue bar loads and a file named "PDApp" launches in my dock. The "initializing installer" loading bar reaches 100% and disappears, but the"PDApp" file does nothing. When I right-click on its icon my my dock, it says "Application Not Responding," so I Force-Quit it. I have used disk utility to repair permissions, I have made sure all other apps were quit and windows were closed. I disconnected my external hard drive (1TB) and my time machine disk (which are the same thing, just partitioned). I have tried installing Catalyst four times over the course of three days. I did not have the Beta 1, but I do have CS4 Design Premium. However, I do have Mac OS v10.6.1 Snow Leopard, and I think that may be where the problem is.
    My Hardware:
Early 2008 MacBook Pro with 2.4 ghz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
    4 GB DDR2 RAM
200 GB HDD, about 130 remaining
    OS v10.6.1 Snow Leopard

Thanks for responding to my question.
I found the latest install log file that you requested, but it pertains to uninstalling Photoshop CS4 on 11/20/2008. I also got the latest install log file from the Library/Logs/Adobe/Installers pathway that resides in my home folder, but it pertained to Photoshop Elements and was last modified on 1/30/2009. I have also included a file entitled "PDApp.log" that I found in my home folder Library/Logs. Its creation and modification dates match my first and most recent attempts to install Catalyst, 10/13/2009 at 3:29 pm and 10/16/2009 at 4:31 pm, respectively. I also used the "Repair Permissions" feature in Disk Utility both on my 200 GB Hitachi HDD itself and on the volume "Macintosh HD." During both these repairs, I received warning about two files that were modified and could not be repaired, which I have copied and included in a third file, entitled "Repair Permissions Warnings." I restarted my computer and attempted to install Catalyst again (for a 6th time, I believe), but I encountered the same problem. This time, when I Force-Quit the "Adobe Application Manager"/"PDApp" and encountered the dialogue box prompting me to send an incident report, I copied the problem details and system configuration information into an RTF file, entitled "Problem Details and System Configuration." I then placed these five files in a folder entitled "files," zipped it, and attached it.
I also took three screen shots of the most recent installation attempt, and have attached them as well, in a zip file entitle "pictures."
I could not find the "/private/tmp/" logs you referenced, unfortunately.
    Thanks for the help.
