Installing BI Content objects for SRM

Hi Experts,
I am new to this group and i need your help for installing Business Content Objects for SRM based data flow.
We are working for a BW - SRM upgrade project and as per our requirements we need to build 11 -  BI standard reports based on Shopping Cart, Shopping Cart Approvar &  Central contracts. We have identified the relevant data sources (0BBP_TD_SC_1, 0BBP_TD_SC_APPR_1 ,  0BBP_TD_CONTR_2) info providers/ characteristics & keyfigures from help.sap.com respective with query details.
We have checked in BW system and do not found any objects under SRM info area (infoobjects/info providers).  As a first step we have activated the above said data sources in SRM system through RSA5 and ensured the data avaialbility through extractor check in RSA3.
We have replicated the Meta data and got the data soruce in inactive version. We are planning to install the business content for info objects, info providers, query elements..
We need your suggestions on  how to proceed further and what are the checks need to be done before installing the objects.
Can any one provide an step by step document for installing the business content  objects from scratch.
Regards,
Saravanan.M

Hi,
Tty to install objects in below sequence.
1. Application component
2. Info area
3. Catalogs
4. Info objects - Chars and Key figs.
5. DSO/CUBEs
6. Transformations, info pack and DTPs.
7. Bex Reports
While isntalling obejcts from BI content, use grouping option as - only necessary objects , do the simulation and later install in background.
If any obejcts already in active then use Match copy option there itself.
From google you may find them,
Use google search key as "Business Content in SAP BI".

  • How to Install Business Content Objects

    Hi,
    1. How to Install Business Content Objects.
    2. Is there any types in Transport Request.
    Thanks,
    Madhu

    Hi,
    1. In the main menu of BI Modeling choose Data Warehousing Workbench: BI Content (Transaction RSOR). If you are already in the Data Warehousing Workbench, select the BI Content functional area by clicking on the corresponding pushbutton in the left-hand navigation window, or by choosing Goto ® Install BI Content.
You can display or hide the left navigation window of the Data Warehousing Workbench with Navigation Window On/ Off.
    2. Collect the objects you want to activate and check your settings for activating BI Content with respect to Install, Match or Copy and Active Version Available.
    More information: Collecting Objects
    3. With Install, define how you want to install the BI Content:
    Installation Type
    Information
    Simulate Installation
The system runs a test to see whether any errors are likely to occur during the installation. However, not all errors that may occur can be identified during simulation: Some error messages can only be generated when a real A version (not just a simulation) is available in the system. You should, therefore, only use the simulation function as a rough guide to help you identify and remove basic errors.
    Install
The selected objects are installed immediately.
    Install in Background
The selected objects are installed in the background.
    Install and Transport
The selected objects are installed immediately and then written to a transport request.
If you have a large number of objects, SAP recommends you use the Install in Background option because installing a large number of objects can take a long time. Modifying objects that are already active can take an especially long time to complete.
Make sure that when you install objects in the background, the versions are not matched. It is always the delivery version that is installed. They are not matched

I'm looking into setting up a Content Server for LMS.  We're on 12.1.3 and I've read Oracle Learning Management Content Server setup on Oracle 10gAS - Releases 11i and 12 [ID 427311.1].  I've installed 10g iAS in the past and understand what I need to do.  This note was updated in May of this year so I'm assuming it's up to date.  It says 'Install 10g Application server (preferably 10.1.3.0.0 )'.  How can I get version 10.1.3.0.0?

  • Not Able to Install Business Content Objects

    Dear all:
We have installed BW 7.0 Dev environment in our server. Now we are trying to install BI content into BW. But when we moved to "Business Content",we only see several catalogs like technical content, BEx Personalization, BI Trace Tool, instead of standard Business Content for different business scenario. Is there anything else we should import into our new-installed BW 7.0?
    Thank you very much

    Hi Sf,
I'd go Support Packages and Patches> SAP NetWeaver> SAP NETWEAVER> SAP NETWEAVER 2004S> BI Content for SAP NetWeaver> BI CONT 7.03

  • Error installing OEHR sample objects for APEX 4.2

    Hello,
I'm getting a weird error after importing the OEHR sample objects application from the script found at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/testcontent/oehr-sample-objects-131098.zip
The import process works, no errors, the application is created and so are the supporting objects.
I then try to edit the application (using Application Builder). I click on the only page ("About") and it doesn't render. The message reads :
Error during rendering of region "Page Rendering".
    ORA-01403: no data found
If I try to run the application, I also get the same error (no data found). Which is bizarre, as this application is supposed to just show an "About" page.
I don't really mind that the application doesn't work, since the supporting objects are created correctly, but I am worried that there could be a configuration problem that causes this issue...
Has anyone else encountered this problem ?
    I'm running :
Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.3.0 - 64bit Production
    Application Express 4.2.2.00.11
Other sample applications seem to run just fine. Very strange...
    Thanks very much !
    -Laura

    Hi Laura,
As the name suggests, 'OEHR Sample Objects', is meant for importing of sample objects that are referenced in a number of OBEs and tutorials on APEX.  Those objects can then be used for the creation of the various applications and component examples in the tutorials, etc.  The application itself is not a functioning application, so the errors you see would be expected.  As stated in Chapter 3 of our 2 Day+ Application Developer's Guide, in the note at the end of section Importing the OEHR Supporting Objects:
The OEHR Sample Objects application that you just installed functions solely as a way to install the sample objects needed to complete the exercises in this document. You will not directly use this application.
If you wish to install sample applications, then I would recommend that you navigate to Application Builder > Packaged Applications, for the list of available packaged business productivity applications, as well as a number of sample code applications.  Please note that none of these applications are based upon the database objects that would have been created when you installed 'OEHR Sample Objects'.  Apologies for any confusion, but hopefully this helps to clarify things.

    Hilary

  • How do I install SQL Management Objects for SQL 2008 on a 2 node cluster?

    Hi,
One of the software we use needs the SMO to be installed. This is on a SQL 2008 2 node cluster. In the control-panel, I do NOT see this installed, and I see the client tools SDK installed and I even did a repair of it. I still do not see it.
Can some one please help me with SMO install on this 2 node SQL 2008 cluster? I could not find a working link to install this.
    Thanks!
    Suresh.
    Suresh Channamraju

    Hi Suresh,
According to your descriptIon, you need to install SMO on two nodes of SQL 2008 cluster, right?
If you want to develop an application that uses SQL Server Management Objects (SMO), you should select the Client Tools SDK when you install SQL Server. To install the Client TooLs SDK without installing SQL Server, install Shared Management Objects from
the SQL Server 2008 Feature Pack.
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=6375
By default, the SMO assemblies are installed in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\100\SDK\Assemblies\ directory.

  • Installing BI Content Objects

    Hi,
We need to install Cubes from the BI Content. If we choose
the Grouping option 'In data flow before', then all the objects required for activating the Cube are collected. These objects include Update Rules, Infosource etc. Right?
    My questions are:
1.what about the datasource? Do we need to activate the standard datasource from R/3 side first and replicate it in BW and then install the Infocube??Is the order important?
2.What about the Source system? Where can we assign it?
There is an option to choose the source system in the BI Content screen.Do we need to select the source system in that screen?
    Any inputs will be appreciated..
    Thanks,
    -Ravi

    hi!
    1) yes the order is important you got to replicate the data sources into BW and then install the business content cubes, other wise you have to manually assign transfer rules
    2) yes you have to maintain this file source system assignment in the business content installation tab.

  • Warnings while simulation (install) BI content objects

    Hi!
I am installing 0FIGL_C10 (simulation) from "BI Content". The system gives log with errors: some needed ifoobjects are not available in active version. I am istalling these infoobjects and one of them is 0COSTCENTER.
After simulation (install) of 0COSTCENTER I got yellow (not green) log with warnings:
    1) Lower case makes selection of char values difficult;
    2) Assigned InfoArea 0DB does not exist > NODESNOTCONNECTED.
    I think I can ignore the 1) . But the 2) ? Need I to do anything?
    Thanks,
    Olga

    1) Lower case makes selection of char values difficult
You're correct...this can be ignored. It's saying that this InfoObject has the 'Lowercase letters' checkbox checked, whereby lowercase characters will be accepted for input.
    2) Assigned InfoArea 0DB does not exist > NODESNOTCONNECTED.
You can ignore this if you wish. This just means that the 0DB InfoArea has been activated and that the InfoObject is being put into the Not Assigned (default) InfoArea. You could, if you wish, activate the 0DB InfoArea from BI Content too. Either way, it can either be ignored as is or you can activate the standard content InfoArea.

  • How to re-install Business Content objects if we got an error

    Hi Friends,
I was installing the SD Info object catalogs and suddenly the server connection went off and I could see some errors on the screen. But I could see those objects under the Select objects in BI content panel.Does that mean that they are installed or I have to re-install it again?
    Please advice.
    Thanks in advance,
    -VM.

you can definitely re-install - follow the same procedure ... now you will see another box called
MATCH (X) or Copy - here you can choose to copy ( overwrite existing definition ) or Match - match and if there are differences then reinstall the object..
