Installing JAX-RPC extension

Anybody knows how install the jax-rpc extension i got a big error with the instructions posted on readme file ???
please help !!!

Baiscally you just extrat the two jar files from the zip file into the [jdev-directory]\jdev\lib\ext directory.
This will add the new option in the "create Java Web service wizard".
If this doesn't work for you, can you let us know which version of JDeveloper are you using and what error message do you get at what stage?

  • JDeveloper reports: The JAX-RPC extension is not installed

    Hi. I'm attempting to publish a JAX-RPC Web Service, following the instructions in the "Publish a JAX-RPC Java Web Service" document from Oracle Magazine (http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/webservices/htdocs/series/jaxrpc1/index.html). I get all the way to the point of creating the Web Service from the Emp.jpr (step 13). When I select "JAX-RPC Web Services" as my "Deployment Platform" and press "Next" I get a dialog saying "The JAX-RPC extension is not installed. Either install the extension or choose a differrent platform for the service." I have, in fact, installed the JAX-RPC extension (following the instructions at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/partners/addins/exchange/jaxrpc/readme.html).
    Does anyone know the cause of this problem? Thanks.

    I"m also getting this message while trying to launch mini bridge on a Mac. I went to the Library folder you noted and the mini bridge extension is not there. I have 4 extensions present: BuzzwordAccessBundle, CSREviewBundle, Knowledge, and STORY. However the PS menu item Window>Extensions, the Extensions is grayed out. Also when I click on the "CS Live" button in the upper right of PS window, nothing happens.
    I havn't used mini bridge much because I use Lightroom for organization, but I know I've used it in the past and it worked, so I can't understand how it would just disappear, and why these other things would stop working.
    How can I reinstall mini bridge and get the CS Live button and extensions working again?
    I'm back. I installed a couple of extensions to see what would happen and the Extensions button was still grayed out. Too shorten the story; it occurred to me to check what mode PS was running in. I had switched it to 32 bit mode so some not yet updated plugins would work. I switched it to 64 bit mode and bingo, everything works now, including mini bridge, though it is still not present in the Library folder you mention.

  • JAX RPC extension: Problem with document/literal and MyType[]

    Hi,
    I have installed the JAX RPC extension and want to generate a stub from my WSDL file. The WSDL describes a document/literal binding.
    Problem:
    A webservice server method like:
    public wineshop.model.common.SimpleProducer[] getSimpleProducerList() throws RemoteException;
    is translated into a stub method like:
    public UnknownType getSimpleProducerList() throws Exception {..}
    Is an array of own types with the binding style "document/literal" not supported in JAX RPC 1.4 or is it just a bug?
    The WSDL file is generated by JAX RPC 1.4.
    I have installed JWSDP-1.5 and generated a stub with wscompile from the WSDL file. The generated stub has the correct method return type:
    public wineshop.ws.client.SimpleProducer[] getSimpleProducerList()
    throws java.rmi.RemoteException
    It there a workaround like replacing some JDev JARs with JWSDP-1.5 to solve the problem?
    Any hints are welcome.
    Thanks Markus

  • JAX-RPC Web services client error

    Hi!
    I use Jdevelop 10g 9.0.5.2 with JAX-RPC extension and OC4J 10.1.3.
    I can develop RPC/literal and document/literal Web services, but when I try to run a client program I've got this error.
    "Error: cannot access class oracle.j2ee.ws.saaj.soap.Constants; file oracle\j2ee\ws\saaj\soap\Constants.class not found"
    Could anyone tell me how to solve this problem?

    Hi,
    I am attempting the same task. With different problems.
    After creating a .war with deploytool, I try to deploy it to a OC4J that comes with JDev.
    It result in an exception saying the Servlet is not a Servlet. Wich is true.
    Do you know how to deploy this .war to an OC4J? (read IAS 9.0.3)

  • Help install jwsdp 1.0 and run JAX-RPC  example

    I installed jwsdp1.0 today and I tried to run the Hello world example for JAX-RPC (http://java.sun.com/webservices/docs/1.0/tutorial/doc/JAXRPC3.html).
    The problem is with any command passed at the console (ant command or startup (tomcat), deploytool, etc) I always get the following message : Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: Files/Microsoft.
    The operating system in win XP and jre is 1.4.0.
    The variables I used are JAVA_HOME (D:\Java\j2sdk1.4.0)
    and JWSPD_HOME (d:\java\jwsdp-1_0). Both bin folder are setup on the path variable (%JAVA_HOME%\bin;%JWSPD_HOME%\bin).
    Help will be very much appreciated

    Maybe this is just a typo in your post, but the variable name should be JWSDP_HOME, not JWSPD_HOME.

  • Error deploying JAX-RPC war in JBoss

    I am using the JBoss 3.0.3 with Tomcat 4.1.12. After creating a JAX-RPC application I have tried deploying the completed war to JBoss, but get an error saying that Jboss cannot find the:
    com.sun.xml.rpc.server.JAXRPCContextListener. java.lang.ClassNotFoundException
    This class lives in the jaxrpc-ri.jar file, from the jwsdp-1_0_01 distribution (Java Web Services Developer Pack). I've tried copying this jar file to the Jboss lib directory, but it still doesn't get past the error.
    How can install this jar (and/or other JAX-RPC jars) for Jboss to use? See server errors below:

  • JAX-RPC and JSP

    Hi all,
    I have created a jax-rpc console app which works fine. (its a fairly simple online shop application). I would like to try and implement it via jsp but have never used jsp before.
    I've tried to follow the coffee-bean example, but the jsp has confused the hell out of me. (getting the cb app to run is fine, but separating out the jax-rpc element is a nightmare, what with the taglibs, build files and all). Despite my best efforts, I have failed to get a simple jsp/jax-rpc page to work.
    In so far as I can tell, it requires two builds to install the jax-rpc service, and another build to install the jsp service on the tomcat server. Is this correct?
    It would be much appreciated if anyone could post a simple example of how to get a basic jsp/jax-rpc service to work. A simple hello world would be just fine! :)
    I know I could figure out jsp alone. Thats not really the problem. Its incorporating the jax-rpc service that is killing me! All comments and suggestions are very welcome.

    correct?What do you mean by build? To create a JAX-RPC service you have to generate files with tools, compile those files, package into a WAR, and then deploy.
    The web application containing the JSP pages and compiled JavaBeans components is packaged into another WAR and deployed separately.

  • Cannot Run JAX-RPC Hello Service Example

    Hello,
    I am trying to run the helloservice example from the Java Web Services Tutorial v 1.3 (Chapter 12). Upon running the ant build task, I get the following error.

    find file C:\jwstutorial13\examples\jaxrpc\helloservice\build\model.gz to copy.
    I tried running the ant generate-sei-service task separately. This appears to complete successfully, yet, there is no model file generated.
    Any help/suggestions/insights would be very much appreciated!

  • How to run a JAX-RPC web service

    I wrote the essential interface and classes to build a JAX-RPC web service, and I installed the J2SE 1.4.2 and Java Web Services Developer Pack 1.2 in Windows XP.
    I have read the Java Web Services Tutorial, but is so confusing for me.
    Anyone can provide the steps about the environment config, compile, package, and run the web service in Tomcat? thx

    I wrote these interface and class to create a simple web service:
    package test;
    import java.rmi.*;
    public interface HelloIF extends Remote {
    String sayHello(String s) throws RemoteException;
    package test;
    public class HelloImpl implements HelloIF {
    public String sayHello(String s) {
    return message + " " + s;
    I compiled these 2 and the *.class files exist in D:\backup\JAVA\fyp\test
    and then I wrote the config.xml:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <configuration xmlns="http://java.sun.com/xml/ns/jax-rpc/ri/config">
    <service name="MyHelloService" targetNamespace="urn:Foo" typeNamespace="urn:Foo" packageName="test">
    <interface name="test.HelloIF" />
    </service>
    </configuration>
    I placed the config.xml in D:\backup\JAVA\fyp, then I type the following command:
    D:\backup\JAVA\fyp>wscompile -define config.xml -model model.gz
    the system response is:
    error: RmiModeler error: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: test$HelloIF
    what's wrong?

  • Ant task to create jax-rpc xml types from schema

    I need to create xml-rpc types from given xml schema files. It seems we can do this using options in weblogic workshop. However, I need an ant task to do same. Which ant task should I be using to do this? It will be great if you can also share an example on using this ant task.

    Hi Johan,
    You're correct that support for derivation of simple types by restriction is optional. The reason the JAX-RPC specification is saying so little about both the type mapping and validation issues is that longer term this will presumably be covered by JAX-B. Having said this, you can typically find support for both extensive type mappings and validation in products supporting JAX-RPC - such as jBroker Web (http://www.silverstream.com/Website/app/en_US/JBrokerWeb).

  • Callbacks in jax-rpc

    does anyone know how to implement a callback in jax-rpc? What I would really like is to be able to register an event listener with a jax-rpc service (followling the Swing pattern, for instance), and have the service call back when some event occurs at the server.
    If I try to pass a 'listener' type object from the client to the server, I get serializer errors.
    Any ideas?

    Did you install http server in the client side? if so, what exactly did you did there?
    Can you post a relevant snippet of your code and environment configuration?

  • Problem verify web services HelloWorld JAX-RPC

    I have executed the tutorial Jax-RPC HelloWorld,
    but when I verify the web service my browser display
    A Web Service is installed at this URL.
    This endpoint is incorrectly configured. Please check the location and contents of the configuration file.
    which it is the problem?
    you can help me?
    thanks

    Check if the endpoint property of the build.properties file
    (ex. endpoint=...ttp://localhost:8080/SmsWSservice/SMS/SmsWSIF)
    matches exactly (is case sensitive) the url pattern element content (ex. <servlet-mapping>
              <servlet-name>JAXRPCEndpoint</servlet-name>
              <url-pattern>/SMS/*</url-pattern>
         </servlet-mapping>) of the web.xml file.
    In the examples above the url-pattern "SMS" must match the part of the URL between "...ttp://localhost:8080/SmsWSservice/" and the reference of the interface ("SmsWSIF).
    Hope it helps

  • Calling jax-rpc from applet

    Hi,
    I have been able to get the examples for jwsdp-1.2 to run ok. What I want now is to build an applet which calls by jax-rpc a webservice of my own. Now I get the following error:
    java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sun/xml/rpc/client/BasicService
    Should I install an extra jar file on the client ? Which jar file ? Where must I put it ?
    Any hints will be appreciated,
    Kind regards

  • OC4J 9.0.4, JAX-RPC, AXIS Client Stub

    Hi All,
    I have hit a problem and am wondering if anybody has any pointers :
    * I have a Webservice running on OC4J 10.1.2 Standalone.
    * I have generated Java client stubs by pointing to this webservice using the wsdl2java tool from Apache Axis and can use these generated classes without any problems outside any web containers.
    * I have created a jsp that calls these classes and can run this within the embedded server of Jdeveloper 9.0.5.2
    However...
    When I deploy the ear file containing this jsp into a 9.0.4 OC4J standalone / or full install and run the same jsp I am getting the following exception :

    Can anybody let me know what I need to do. Is there anyway that I can get this Apache client code (which uses jax-rpc) working within OC4J 9.0.4. I know the limitations of 9.0.4 and Jax-rpc - but I am wondering if anybody has a nice note to work around it.
    Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated.

    Richard, the error message you see below indicates that the JVM can not recognize your class file.
    java.lang.ClassFormatError: com/abc/mypackage/MyApplicationBindingStub (Illegal Field name "array$[B")
    Are you using different java version to run wsdljava and OC4J? Can you try using the same version of java for both of them?

  • JAX-RPC or JAXM or AXIS/GLUE

    Hello,
    I am starting with webservices and am confused with all the APIs out there. Should I start with JAX-RPC or JAXM to develop/consume webservices? Do I need SOAP implementations like AXIS or GLUE?
    Please Help !!!
    -ss

    Yes, it's pretty overwhelming when you're first starting out. My suggestion is to start with JAX-RPC because:
    1. it's easy to understand
    2. most existing web services are RPC-based
    3. there are many nice tools to help you create JAX-RPC based services
    Now you can decide which JAX-RPC implementation to use. Both JWSDP and Axis have JAX-RPC implementations. JWSDP is nice everything-rolled-into-one installation, so it's a good platform for learning (the tutorial version 1.2 isn't available yet but most of the 1.1 tutorial applies to JWSDP 1.2). Just download the JWSDP 1.2 installation package and the tutorial and you're ready to go (Tomcat is bundled with the JWSDP).
    However, I believe that many more commercial web service implementations are based on Axis than JWSDP. If you plan on deploying web services yourself, you may want familiarize yourself with Axis. Just download and install Tomcat, then download and install Axis. The axis-user mailing list at http://ws.apache.org/axis/mail.html is very helpful.
    And don't worry too much about which package is better. Any services you develop with either platform can be ported unchanged to the other.
    Good luck,
    Mike
