Installing JDBC Drivers on SQL Server 2008 r2

I am unable to create JDBC data source on Web logic server ;the system displays the error that "can not load the jdbc drivers". The web logic server has to be configured to start or deploy the server for primavera contract management.
I am not getting why this configuration not possible.
Please let me know how to create the JDBC data source on the Web logic configuration for primavera contract management.

If you wan to connect to SQL Server 2008 R2 database from your java application, you should download and install Microsoft JDBC Driver for SQL Server from the following link:

I have deployed the JDBC drivers (sqljdbc.jar and sqljdbc4.jar) available for the SQL Server 2008 from the microsoft website as described in the how to document for deploying and configuring JDBC and JMS adapters.
I am running a JDBC to FIle(XML) scenario. When I go and see on the RWB CC monitoring, I get this error
Error during database connection to the database URL 'jdbc:sqlserver://hostname:1433;databaseName=123_Nagasatya' using the JDBC driver 'com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver': 'com.sap.aii.adapter.jdbc.sql.DriverManagerException: Cannot establish connection to URL 'jdbc:sqlserver://hostname:1433;databaseName=123_Nagasatya': UnsupportedClassVersionError: com/microsoft/sqlserver/jdbc/SQLServerDriver (Unsupported major.minor version 50.0)'
WRT to the SQL server the port 1433 is open on the host and there is no firewall on the PI server as well as the SQL Server. Both are on different machines.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

get zip-file sqljdbc_12_hotfix.zip contains the sqljdbc.jar file.

I am getting the following error in my application. The error seems to have thrown by Microsoft JDBC drivers for SQL Server 2000
The application tries to execute the the following query when the error is thorwn:
SELECT getDate(); // getDate is a function which returns currebt date time. The error is thrown occassionally. Other times the same query is executed correctly by the application.
Can any one help with this one.

Installing SSMS 2012 after SQL Server 2008 R2 Express was installed (without tools)

Hi everybody,
This is a question in another forum I am frequent. Someone installed SQL Server Express 2008 R2 and he used the wrong exe, so he installed it without tools. Now he wants to install SSMS.
It looks like SSMS 2012 wants to have SQL Server 2012 Express installed first.
Can someone please confirm if it's possible to install just SSMS 2012 after SQL Server 2008 R2 Express was already installed and if possible, guide through the installation steps?

I have tested the scenario you described. Everything works well, I successfully install SQL Server Management studio 2012 after SQL Server 2008 R2 Express (without tools) was already installed.
Please note that we don’t need to install SQL Server 2012 Express first when installing SSMS 2012. For detailed installation steps of SQL Server 2008 R2 Express and SSMS 2012, you can review below blogs.

JDBC Drivers for SQL server 2000

Hi friends,
while trying to connect SAP xMII with SQL server 2000, i am facing difiiculties Driver classname ,URL and the correct driver(jar file)
can you please help to solve this problem.

Download the Driver from
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=07287b11-0502-461a-b138-2aa54bfdc03a&displaylang=en,
This will give u setup.exe, Once you Install the the exe , you can find 3 jar files at
C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Driver for JDBC\lib.
Copy the Jar files and Paste them in <xMIIServer>\ServletExec AS\se-xMII\webapps\default\Lighthammer\WEB-INF\lib
Now in the DataSource Tab in xMII main menu, copy the IDBC data source and create a new one, in that Put the server URL as
jdbc:microsoft:sqlserver://yourServerName:1433;user=yourUser;password=yourPwd
and Driver name as com.microsoft.jdbc.sqlserver.SQLServerDriver

we have MII 12.0.11 and we need to access a database on Microsoft SQL Server 2008.
I need a suggestion on the driver choice...because the Microsoft JDBC drivers for SQL Server 2008 on the following links officially need at least JDK 5...and for what I know our MII version is based on Netweaver 7.0 on Java 1.4.

The problem is that into the Table no value is written, no problem compiling it and into the file prova.txt I can see only the value line=1 written!
So there should be something wrong in the connection.
I've already installed the JDBC drivers for SQL Server 2000 and I've addedd into the libraries the "msbase.jar, the mssqlserver.jar and the msutil.jar".
But nothjng written into the Database :-(

I am trying to upgrade SQL Server 2008 R2 (Express Edition with advanced services) to SQL SERVER 2014 Standard edition, my first issue was to update the 2008 R2 to Service pack 2 on the first FEATURE RULE TEST, at this time on it's keep saying this:

This is the scenario:
-I have installed the SQL SERVER 2008 R2 With Advanced services (version 10.50.1600.1), and now my guest decide to upgrade to an STARNDARD version which nowadays Microsoft is offering the 2014 version.
-As all IT Support and DBA I try to upgrade to SQL 2014 to check and see with requirements were missing or updates. The first check report only ask to upgrade to SQL SERVER 2008 R2 SP2 (version 10.51.2500.0) which I found in the optional update list and
resolved immediately with the Windows Update service.
-Finally, I realise doing the discovery report (suggested in the last post) is that Windows update only download the service pack 2 for SQL Server 2008 instead of the 2008 R2 (I downloaded manually) then the version was upgrade to 10.52.4000.0
Next time I might download the updates manually and not loosing a lot hours with Windows Update, another point very important is that when SQL Server 2008 R2 is installed, create the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 folder at all programas in the Startup menu:
with the SQL Server Installation Center, but there is not one R2, when you execute this one just show the 2008 installed features.
Now we are on 12.0.2000.8

First i install the JDK 1.5 and MS SQL Server 2000. And then i also install JDBC for MS SQL Server 2000 sp3. Than i'm doing some experiments with JDBC, but its result error that i couldnt understand how to fixed it...
I'm asking is JDBC for MS SQL Server 2000 sp3 doesn't support j2ee 1.5.0 and where i can find native driver jdbc for MS SQL Server 2000.

Is SQL Server 2008 R2 supported?

Hi to all,
We've installed as back-end SQL Server 2008 R2, but SAP BPC has been warning us about the versions...we didn't installed any SP because, if we aren't mistaken, they are only for R1.
Could someone confirm this?

Bruno is right. Actually, this is not supported.
Refering to the Installation Guide and Prerequisites section for SQL server, versions 2005 and 2008 are supported, but not 2008 R2.

I have Windows server 2008 R2 Standard edition (64-bit) and trying to install SQL server 2008 express edition since I do not have SQL server 2008. When I install it I am unable to see Management Studio so I am trying to install management studio as well
but still I am facing issue. Please let me know whether SQL server 2008 express edition is compatible with Windows server 2008 R2 Standard. If not then pls let me know the proper steps to install it.
