Installing JDev 3.1.1.2

I was installing JDev 3.1.1.2 on another PC. I choose custom, JDBC was gray meaning it had sub-items. I clicked on change. It listed 7.0.5, 8.0.5 and 8.1.6. I tried to deselect 7.0.5 but couldn't. I tried to deselect 8.0.5 and 8.1.5 and couldn't.
I went back to the JDBC level and into another sub-item and couldn't deselect items there too.
Is it broken?

Many of the install options are forced to be installed. More than likely, the JDBC drivers is one of them (or they are required by a another selected component).
If you want to remove the 7.3.4 and 8.0.5 JDBC drivers you can go under where you installed JDeveloper.
cd %JDEVELOPER_HOME% (where you installed jdev)
cd jdbc
rmdir /s oracle7.3.4
rmdir /s oracle8.0.5
Hope this helps,
Rob

  • Installing JDev on a Mac with volume names that have spaces

I'm stuck on trying to install JDev on a mac. I have two volumes (factory installed) - Macintosh HD and Macintosh HD 2.
I created a symbolic link and can use that in the initial screen where I set the Middleware Home Directory and get past that fine. However, after I select the jdk, I get to the 'Choose Product Installation Directories' screen and it shows the full path (not using the symbolic link). These fields are greyed out, so I can't change the paths to use my symlink here. When I click 'Next' I get the 'The directory path must not contain spaces' error.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

"though jdev is the first application I've run into after developing for a couple years on a mac that I ran into this problem"
In reality JDev isn't a native Mac OSX application, it's a linux Java application in disguise, so it's not a smart ".app" install like used elsewhere on the Mac. Thus why it uses the full volume paths I suspect.
In thinking about this issue this morning I guess another option is to rename the hard drives. This isn't ideal if you've already installed a lot of software, usually something (like JDev) has hardcoded the volume path. Also be warned a quick Google shows that some people have trouble booting their Mac after such a change (though it appears to be repairable with some sleuthing).

  • Install JDev 11g(11.1.2.4.0) on mac 10.8.2 fails with fatal error

    Hi,
I am getting an error as " Fatal error encountered during file installation. the installer will now cleanup and exit ! " while installing the JDEV on my mac 10.8.2.
I have tried with both java versions 1.6 and 1.7. and I have both the versions of java in mac but in the java preferences page shows only 1.7.
I have tried with shay's blog too.
I have installed other JDEVs 11g versions in my mac but they are success with shay's blog. I have recently updated OS ( with minor version changes) after this update iam unable to install the JDev and unable to view the both the java versions in pref's page
    Please help me out.
    Thanks
    Shyam

Unfortunately upgrading to 10.8.2 messes up your previously configured steps and you can no longer rely on Java Preferences to define your JDK setup.
What I suggest is doing this:
    1) Delete your current JDev installation + the system directory
    2) Ensure that the symbolic link as described in step 3 of the following link is still present and points to actual file
    3) Follow the steps in this blog: https://blogs.oracle.com/blueberry/entry/how_to_saddle_your_mountain ... to reinstall JDev.
This should get you back up and running.

  • Can't find JDK w. installing JDev 11.1.2.4 on OSX Mavericks

    Hi all,
I need to install Jdeveloper 11.1.2.4 on my MacbookAir running OSX Mavericks.
I downloaded the jdevstudio11124install.jar file from oracle.com and installed some version of Java 1.6 from Apple.
I can start the install, but when I go to choose the default JDK to use, whenever I try to choose a folder it just says error something...
Does anybody have a clue on what to do so that I can chose a JDK when installing 11.1.2.4?
    Thanks in advance,
    nejo

    Hi!
    Thanks!
This line, from the first link, solved my problem.
    /usr/libexec/java_home --version 1.6.0
    --exec java -jar /Users/Fred/Desktop/jdevstudio11116install.jar
Obviously I replaced Fred with my username and jdev.....11116 with 11124.
I tried running that line previously but that was before I had installed java 1.6.
    Thanks again

  • Error in Installing Jdev 12C through Generic istaller

You can view the screen shot of the error here . https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B2uF0CGt8hayWUFRSkpDOHU1NGc/edit?usp=sharing

earlier I had downloaded the 32bit windows version. installer. It showed some error when i ran the installer.
But however i extracted the installer and was able to install 12C in my laptop. But when i migrated an application made on JDev 11.1.2.1.0 ,f was migrated well ,but when i ran the application on server.. there was always an error  saying "Save and close the Jdeveloper ". I mean the error that comes when Jdev becomes unstable and asks to save the files and quit.

  • Problem install Jdev on OSX Mountain Lion, please advice

    Hi all,
I have been trying to install JDeveloper Suite 121200 on my MacBook Air running OSX 10.8.5 Mountain Lion for a couple of days but have not succeeded.
I have read every install guide I've been able to find, but still haven't been able to make it work.
Does anybody have any advice for me, I really need to install this to be able to do the assignments we get from school.
    Thanks in advance,
    Kristoffer

    Hi,
just installed the same yesterday with no problem. Make sure you download the Generic Installer (aka the JAR installer). Then install Java 7 to your MAC and ensure its the default Java version (type java -version on the terminal). Then call java -jar <jdeveloper install file name>.jar from the directory you copied the downloaded files to (by default this is called "Download"). Wait for the installer to pop up (may take a minute) and then install JDeveloper. The install directory then has a JDeveloper / JDev folder that contain the start icon to use for starting the IDE

This is most unusual. Possibly a corrupted Zip file was downloaded - Possibly other resource / file issues.
    Please check the following things:
    1. Make sure you have pleanty of available free disk space for the installation to unzip and install.
    2. Run WinZip on the Zip file to see if any errors pop up - if so, you may need to re-download.
    3. Possibly - Reboot machine and then try to install when minimal OS activity has occurred.
    I hope this helps,

    Dear John
Thank you for your reply. I can exclude the bad zip file, for the setup programs from jdev 3.1.1.2 and jdev 3.1, which happened to stay on my machine, show the same behaviour (they worked fine at their time). I agree that it has something to do with my installation. Meanwhile, I reapplied service pack 5 and applied service pack 6 for NT, no help.
I will try to check with install shield corporation.

  • Install Jdev 12c in a non-gui environment?

Is there any way to install Jdeveloper 12C on a linux box that doesn't have X11 components installed.
I know that the 11g version allowed it, I'd really like to be able to do the same for 12C.

That did the trick, I followed the instructions on this page :
Using the Oracle Universal Installer in Silent Mode - 12c (12.1.2)
Now I just need to see how to create the base domain based on the default template in silent mode.

  • How to install JDev 11.1.1.6 with a older Jdev 11g?

I had a JDeveloper 11.1.1.5 with SOA extension installed already in C:\Oracle\Middleware folder (windows7),
now I plan to install JDeveloper 11.1.1.6 with SOA extension but still keep the JDeveloper 11.1.1.5.
where should I install the JDeveloper 11.1.1.6? Thanks.

Install to new middleware home(for example: C:\Oracle\Middleware2).

  • Unable to install JDev extns.

    Hi all,
I had downloaded JDeveloper 11.1.1.4 and SOA JDev Extn for this. When I try to update JDeveloper, its expecting oracle.studio 11.1.1.4.37.59.23 and oracle.j2ee 11.1.1.4.37.59.23. But I am not able to find these two in Internet. Can anybody share the download link for this.
    Thanks.

    Azeez,
Apparently, you downloaded JDeveloper 11.1.1.4 Java Edition, and not JDeveloper 11.1.1.4 Studio Edition, which is required for SOA.

  • Installing Webtier(Webcache) in Weblogic(Jdev)

    Hello Experts,
I am trying to install webtier in my local. But webcache fails to configure properly.
    I follow following steps..
    1. Install jdev (11.1.1.7 and 12c....separate installation) - SUCESSFUL
    2. I start weblogic server from jdev - SUCESSFUL
    3. I install webtier 11.1.1.7 for windows 64 bit- SUCESSFUL
    4. I configure webtier - UNSUCESSFUL ---> Webcache fails all the time...reasons r different for different jdev versions and debugging types
For installation and configuration, i followed below threads
Andrejus Baranovskis's Blog: Oracle WebTier 11g Configuration for ADF 11g Applications
    WebCenter Blog: Configuring Oracle WebTier
    For debugging, i referred
    https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2218850
Ideally..i need to configure webcache(webtier) for Jdev 11.1.1.7
There are lot of forums and threads for instaling and configuring..but they seem to be for older versions....and i am finding it difficult to debug...as i get different error all the time...

    Hi ,
Is the webtier 11.1.1.7 installed in the same MW home as JDEV ?
What is the version of weblogic you had installed ?
In case of unsupported configuration, the install fails.
Since this is windows box, please check whether there is any Anti virus software running. If so disable it.
Also check if IPV6 is enabled in your hosts file. If so disable it.
    #::1 localhost
I hope you are using all 64bit installers.

  • New Jdev install - FND_COOKIE_HAS_NO_ICX_ENTRY error while using Lov

    Hi,
I installed Jdev recently and am having quite a few issues with it.
    1. I could not make the HelloWorld message spit out a message. That is being following up on another thread. I still can't do so.
    2. So I went ahead and created the Empsearch tutorial with Lov. The page runs ok. But when the Lov is clicked I get the following error. I looked at the .dbc file JDBC URL and at by Project Settings > DB/Run Time Connections as suggested in other threads. Everything is fine. However I get this error when I click the Lov. Any ideas?
