Installing OCCI for visual studio2010?
I dont understand how i'm supposed to install OCCI for visual studio 2010 when the download includes the following items
1.) a .lib file
2.) .dll
3.) .sym
i understand how to use .lib files but in order to use it u need the .h file that includes the function prototypes located in the .lib...can anyone explain what im doing wrong or how i can acccess the functions and structures located inside the .lib file included with the OCCI download?
I can only speak for VS2008, but maybe it helps.
In the project properties windows / configuration properties / linker / aditional dependencies you shoud have: oraocci11.lib (for release), oraocci11.lib (for debug).
Also you should set your Visual Studio paths (inclusion, reference, libraries)
Mark Williams blog about OCCI and VS was helpful for me in the past: http://oradim.blogspot.com/2009/07/getting-started-with-occi-windows.html
And obviously you should: #include <occi.h>

OCCI for Visual C++8 64-bit
Good day!
At this link I found 32-bit version of OCCI for VS 2005:
http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/oci/occi/occidownloads.html
Where can I find 64-bit version of OCCI for VS 2005?
I found .h and .lib files in the installation dir of Oracle10g-x64 at ./oci/lib/msvc, but when I try to run the compiled 64bit application it say 24960 Error in function:
oracle::occi::Connection *conn = env->createConnection(UserName,password, ConnectionString);
I think it need correct lib files for VC++8.

Crystal Reports Version for Visual Studio 2010 Fails to Install
Hi -
I am trying to install the CR redistribution package for .Net 4. When I run CRRuntime_32bit_13_0.msi I get an Error 1904 when it tries to register the commonobjmodel.dll. If I manually register the dll using regsvr32 I get the following message:
"The module 'commonobjmodel.dll' failed to load. Make sure the binary is stored
at the specified path or debug it to check for problems with the binary or dependent .DLL files."
The dll does exist and is in the correct directory. Is there another installer I should be using?
Thanks.

Unable to install Business Intelligence for Visual Studio 2012
I have tried and tried to get the templates to show up in Visual Studio. I have tried all the suggestions that could be found from others in 2013. I am down to the "Command Report.NoOp" message when I click on "Sql Server Data Tools for Visual
Studio 2012", under Sql Server 2012 menu.
Can anyone help me get rid of this error message? I can't tell how many times I have uninstalled and reinstalled or repaired 2012 software. I believe I finally have the correct SSDTSetup.exe file and SSDTBI_VS2012_x86.exe file. The versions are 11.0.3402.0
and 11.1.31203.1.
I have spent 3 days trying to get this working so I can create some SSIS projects. Please someone help me.....
thanks,
SMA
Shawn M AustinHi Shavona,
According to your description, we need to verify if the error message is “Command "Report.NoOp" is not valid” when you install Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools - Business Intelligence for Visual Studio 2012.
If yes, it seems that the BI Templates are not installed properly. Please ensure that you have selected “Perform a new installation of SQL Server 2012” instead of “Add features to an existing instance of SQL Server 2012” when installing the
update.

Error installing SQL Server Data Tools - Business Intelligence for Visual Studio 2013
Hi
I am trying to install SQL Server Data Tools - Business Intelligence for Visual Studio 2013 and am getting the following error
This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Biztalk DeveloperCould you please check if Windows Installer service is running and is in automatic startup mode.
The other thing is, if you’re running an x64-based SQL instance (64-bit), make sure to select “New Instance” on the Installation Type page, and NOT “Add features to an existing instance”.

Not able to properly install "Tools for Apache Cordova for Visual Studio 2013"
Hi,
I am using visual studio 2013 ultimate running on a 64-bit windows 7 home premium.
When I tried to install the "Tools for Apache Cordova for Visual Studio 2013", the installation completed but showed the following error in the end. This is what the error says:
" Joyent Node.js
Invalid command line argument. Consult the Windows Installer SDK for detailed command line help. "
I thought maybe windows phone SDK 8 is not installed on my pc.( as mentioned in the requirements here: https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-in/library/dn757054.aspx). I tried to install the SDK, by choosing modify from the control panel (as
mentioned in the same link above), but it didn't show "Windows Phone SDK" on the list. And Microsoft says that you cannot install the SDK v8.0 on windows 7. Please help me with this.OK...
1) So, how do I write JavaScript code? There is only one option when I select JavaScript form the "New Project" window and that says "Blank App (Apache Cordova)". when I try to create one it shows all these errors:
" We've detected issues with your system's environment configuration
Apple iTunes - software is missing from your computer.
WebSocket4Net - software is missing from you computer. You may also have to configure it after installation."
2) I don't have iTunes on my computer. So, Is there a way to do it without installing iTunes?
3) And I've already installed the "WebSocket4Net", using both the "vs2013_mda0.3" setup and manually. But nothing worked. So what to do about it.? -
I have visual studio 2012 ultimate for practice , now I want to do SharePoint 2013 development through that. Generally I should download "Microsoft Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio 2012" through
Web Platform Installer, but for some reason I want to avoid installing "Web Platform Installer".
Is there any way where I can download and install "Microsoft Office Developer Tools for Visual Studio 2012" without downloading "Web Platform Installer"?

Could somebody please explain steps 3 and 4 for installing OCCI?
3) Include %ORACLE_HOME%\oci\lib\msvc\vc9 directory in the list of library
directories when linking the application. Include oraocci11.lib or
oraocci11d.lib, as appropriate, in the application link command.
4) Ensure that %ORACLE_HOME%\oci\lib\msvc\vc9 is first in the PATH when
running the application.
P.S. I'm using visual studio 2010, will OCCI still work?
Thank you.Hi,
I'm not sure what to say about steps 3 and 4... Step 3 just "tells" VS about the directory where the OCCI library (oraocci11.lib) resides so it can be linked properly. Step 4 ensures that the correct OCCI runtime library (oraocci11.dll) is used when executing the application.
P.S. I'm using visual studio 2010, will OCCI still work?
You'll likely have problems. OCCI uses the STL and as a result the various components used at development and run time must all "match" and be supported. In order for things to work correctly you would need to create an application that used a supported version of the MS C/C++ runtimes, etc. The downloads page (http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/oci/occi/occidownloads.html) shows what versions are supported.
I did a simple "getting started" post that illustrates one way to use OCCI with VS2008 C++ Express Edition and Oracle Instant client. You can find that here if you are interested:

Hello,
I'm very confused about how to install OCCI. I'm on Windows 7 using Visual C++ 2010, and want to write a program to connect to an Oracle 10g database.
The problem is I cannot find a version of OCCI for 10g.
This is the only page I've found offering downloads ( http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/features/oci/index-090820.html ), but the only files offered target 11.2.0.2.0 and 11.1.0.7.0.
Am I looking in the wrong place? Can I use these files? All of my searches for a specific 10g version are coming up empty.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.I have installed vc2008 express edi and oracle 10g express edition.I have written this code :
#include <iostream>
#include <occi>
using oracle :: occi;
using namespace std;
int main(){
oracle::occi::Environment* environment;
oracle::occi::Connection *con;
oracle::occi::Statement* stmt;
oracle::occi::ResultSet* res;
try{
environment = oracle::occi::Environment::createEnvironment(oracle::occi::Environment::DEFAULT);
con = environment->createConnection("gldbuser", "gldbuser", "MYDATABSE");
stmt = con->createStatement("select * from example");
res = stmt->executeQuery();
while (res->next())
std::cout<<res->getInt(1)<<" "<<res->getString(2)<<std::endl;
stmt->closeResultSet(res);
con->terminateStatement(stmt);
environment->terminateConnection(con);
}catch(oracle::occi::SQLException &e){
std::cout<<e.what();
return 0;
It giving me error
\connectivity.cpp(20) : error C2872: 'Environment' : ambiguous symbol
1> could be 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\include\occiControl.h(732) : oracle::occi::Environment'
1> or 'c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\v2.0.50727\mscorlib.dll : System::Environment'
Please give me solution for that -
Crystal Report not listed Add New Item for Visual Studio 2010
I just finished installing cryestal report for visual studio 2010.
During the installation a visual studio error dialog popped up "Operation cannot be completed. Access Denied", the crystal report installation continued and was informed that the installation was successful.
But on opening my visual studio project to add new item, crystal report item is not listed there.
Is there anything that needs to be done to get it listed in the Add New Item dialog for visual studio?I wonder what file you ran to install CRVS2010? Was it the MSI as opposed to the actual install file?
The link to the correct install is here:

Is that the file you ran to install CRVS2010? E.g. as opposed to:

Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2008 - dbf
Hello,
I use both Visual Studio 2005 and 2008 on same PC. I can not work with dbf files (format foxpro2x, dbase IV) in VS 2005 and VS 2008.
Q1. Work Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2008 with database files - dbf (version foxpro2x, dbaseIV)? I get error -
Crystal Reports ActiveX Designer
Failed to load database information
or with dbf files work only Full version of Crystal Reports?
Q2. How re-install Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2008. In setup Add/Remove features not exist Crystal Reports check box. I only Repair/reinstall all Visual Studio but after reinstall same error
Crystal Reports ActiveX Designer
Failed to load database information
3. When I can open sample project with Crystal Reports which use Crystal Reports (dbf file) this error is displayed:
Crystal Report Viever
Failed to load database information
Details: The database DLL "crdb_p2bxbse.dlll" could not be loaded.
4. I reinstal Crystal Report in Visual Studio 2005 - same error
5. I apply hotfix Crystal Reports for .NET 2005 - SP 1 - same error
Thank You
LudekHi Ludek,
1-For dbase file to work you need have permission on database files for IIS as well as user accessing the database.
2-For re-install you need to insert the CD of visual studio setup then do custom install and then try to choose crystal reports for re-installing
3-The old viewer might cause the problem. In this case can you try connecting to a blank dbase file.
and for such issues we have a special forum [here|SAP Crystal Reports, version for Visual Studio;
