Installing Oracle9iAS Release 1 on RedHat9.0

Hi All,
Is there any step-by-step documentation for installing Oracle9iAS Release 1 on RedHat9.0 Linux machine.
I have gone through the Oracle Techn Docs but its not really working for me.
Any easy docs avaiable as Im very new to Linux.

I keep on seeing stuff like this and someone please explain it to me. Why are you using Red Hat 9.0?
1. It is not supported by Oracle to use that OS.
2. If you have a problem and need to open a tar, you will not get support.
3. You will likely run into problems that are unique to the OS.
4. If/when you actually use a supported OS, you may see different behaviour (like bugs) that you didn't see in Red Hat 9.0.

I am new to Oracle9iAS and need some help implementing Clickstream Intelligence with Oracle9iAS Release 2 (9.0.2.0.1). Can anyone tell me what all components do i need to install and where can i find more information about the same. Also does it work well with Oracle9iAS R2?

Control file creation failed while installing ---------R12 release 3

While installing R12 release 3 I am getting following error at the time of Step 2 0f 5
RC-50004: Fatal: Error occurred in ApplyDatabase:
Control file creation failed
Cannot execute configure of database using RapidClone
following is summery of my server hardware
HDD capacity 146GB X 10 nos. ( RAID5 with 2 arrays)
8 GB RAM
Operating System is Red hat Linux Enterprise 4 with Update 5
Following are the HDD partition details
Boot 1GB
Root 50GB
Tem 12GB
SWAP 24GB distributed on two HDD partitions equally
Database and Application HDD portion size 500GB
I am refering Metalink note Note 402310.1 all the setting are correct

these all packeges are avalable on the server some are even are the higher version because OS is with update 5
Doen the installation 3 time with formating , but still facing same problem

Install oracle 9i on redhat9

when i install the oracle9i on redhat9,there is an error in invoking target installof makefile /usr/local/opt/oracle/product/9.2.0/ctx/lib/ins_precomp.mk,and i saw the make.log,it shows:

How to install Oracle9iAS and Oracle Portal

Can anyone help me to install Oracle9iAS and Oracle Portal?
In which order must they be installed?
Are there important things to do before the isntalling?
Or does anyone know where to find clear documentation for the installation?

Portal is installed as part of the 9iAS install.
You can find the Installation Guide online at http://otn.oracle.com/products/ias/. Choose the Documentation tab. Select your platform (Solaris, NT, etc.), and click HTML or PDF and you'll have the docs you need for installing 9lAS and Portal with default configuration.
For more info on custom configuring portal, go to http://technet.oracle.com/products/iportal/. There is a section on the page called Configure 9iAS Portal that has links to all the available configuration documentation.

Hi everyone,
I want to Install 11gr2 release 11.2.0.2 database in Windows 7 32 bit.
I have searched on download.oracle.com but i was not able to findout proper database compatible with windows 7. They had 11gEX db but i want to install simple 11gr2.
Please help me to download and configure database on windows 7 32 bit.

Errors happened during installing Oracle9iAS

I got the gollowing error messages when I tried to install Oracle9iAS Enterprise Edition.
When: Copying B.lib
Error msg: A runtime exception occured during the execution of this query.
When: Copying EMWebSite.html
Error msg: The file D:\ORACLE\iAS\Apache\Apache\ports.ini is not found while looking for variable s_apachePort
When: Copying EMWebSite.html
Error msg: A runtime exception occured during the execution of this query.
Any idea?

Not able to see wireless in programs after installing Oracle9iAS Enterprice Edition

Hello Every one,
I have installed Oracle9iAS Enterprice Edition and able to create content areas and portlets. I want to make the portlets Wireless enable.
I configured all the required files in appropriate oracle homes, but not able to access wireless site.
I did not find the Wireless Edition in my programs.
Can any one help me?

U need to install the client seperatley. Once u install u will see portal-to-go unser oracle fow WindowsNT Option.

have you tried using open motif 2.1.30?
the open motif version that comes with the redhat 7.3 is 2.2 and is not compatible with 6i. Once I used open motif 2.1.30 it worked fine. The environment variable setting is very similar to any other unix version. Ensure that you are also intalling the latest patch (10) for 6i (fixed lots of problems).

Problem when install oracle9iv2-02 on redhat9

Hi,
There is an error when I installed oracle 9iV2-02 on redhat9. And the error was at the beginning of the installation.
login the system as the dba:osdba.
./runInstaller
Then there show me an error message:
line 58, ./runInstaller cannot execute binary file
And I checked the file in ".../Disk1/linux/install/runInstaller", the owner is dba:osdba and the mod is 755. There is another file named runInstaller?
How to resolve the problem?

I downloaded the ship_9202_ia64_lnx_Disk1.cpio.gz, Disk2, and Disk3, and install them on the Redhat9.
Are these right?
And I check the files named "installer", the mod is 755.

I am getting the following error:

9iDS is available now for XP/W2K.
9iAS is still a few weeks away from release.

The beta is unlikely to have any bugs that would affect a student type usage. The fact that
it's now in Beta would lead me to believe that the full release is not far away - after all,
it is the same codebase - they just take things out!
You can deploy, distribute and even sell your apps developed on XE.

Error Installing Oracle9iAS-business Intelligence

I have installed Oracle Infrastructure on one machine successfully,I'm now trying to install Oracle9ias business Intelligence on another machine.After few initial stages,I'm getting this error:-
"An error occured when attempting to verify your host and port. Please verify your host and port values and that you can connect to this host, or enter new values. User Output Stringlist is : <hostname.domainname>*7777*Return value from SSO Running function is Invalid".
I have double checked the host name and port for SSO and it seems they are OK.
Can anyone help me with this? ,Pleaaase!!

Sounds like your infrastructure is either down or unreachable from this new machine. Try looking into this...

Install 9iDS release 2

Hello,
After the install of 9iAS release 2 successfully on Win2k, I would like to install 9iDS Release 2 in order to get Discoverer administator. But, I get this error in the error logs : "java.util.zip.zipexception : invalid entry CRC". Theses errors come when I got with the OUI : "error writing to file D:\...".
Could someone help me, cause I've spent so many time with this install.

I got the same problem what u got few days back .But i changed the installation path of Oracle9i DSuite to a different path other than the Oracle Home path. The installation of Developer suite installed successfully. I could open the 9i forms but only the thing is i am getting a error 0ra-12560: TNS protocol adapter error. I have to check out why the error is throwing. The same error is present when i want to Import an dmp file. I am able to connect to the database using System/manager.
Anyone any help in this matter.

Hello,
After several repeated attempts to download Oracle9i Rel.2 from Oracle.com, it seems it is literally impossible to download 9i Rel.2.
We are spending hours downloading everytime and all it gives is a bundle of "CRC errors", it is happening for WindowsNT/2000/XP plotform and I saw for others too.
Is there a remote possibility of this URL tested at least once at Oracle site so that it will become really
a productive URL to download new Version?

[ I am an ordent fan of Oracle and using Oracle from Version6.x onwards for past 8 years.
It really helps me and people like me to continually evaluate the newer Versions of Oracle to advise the end Client.
I am working on Rel 1.x of Oracle9i with Web Portal 3.0.9.0 and was eager to look new features at home too.
