Insurance and options in dealing with faulty phone
Hello.
EE helping line is rather unclear for me and this seems to be the only place I can actually write about the problem (otherwise I'd be really grateful if somebody could provide me with appropriate email).
I am a carer for a person with cerebral palsy. He is able to use the phone only if the screen is really big. His Samsung s6 is insured and since yesterday is just not responsive to charging - we've tried different chargers which are working on other phones, different a sockets and so forth. EE is giving him an option of either bringing that to the shop and waiting 40 days for the repair with the lone phone which is not possible for him to use or to pay £30 for the delivery of the new one. His mum dealing with his tight budget is not willing to do that. Is there any other option or people we could turn to to solve it otherwise?

Have a look at the charging port on the phone.
Is there anything stuck there? Use a pin to try and clean it out but be careful and gentle with it.
If this doesn't help then the options given by EE is the only way, unless you want to try a factory reset first which I don't think would help.
You may be on a tight budget so then the repair option would be best. OK you need a phone with a big screen but using a smaller phone for a few weeks is better than having an expensive paper weight.

I'm using charger and cable that came with the phone. Nothing else changed.
I think it was the update the iOS 7.0.4 that I did last night. I woke up this morning with my battery almost drained and the charging function going off and on every few seconds, like it would start charging then disconnect, then reconnect repeatedly.
I've tried restarting the phone and hard restarting the phone several times, but I'm getting really low on battery by now (under 20%).
I've tried cleaning the connector with a little isopropyl alcohol, and blowing it out with compressed air. Though I can't be 100% certain, it's very unlikely my connector died exactly at the same time I was updating my phone. Especially since it appears I'm not the only one with this problem.
And now, after the last hard reset, my phone doesn't even recognize the charger at all, or being connected with the USB cable to my MacBook Pro.
I turned off my phone so when I go to the Apple Store it will power up one last time, but besides that I'm out of ideas.Just back from Genius Bar and two other people at my table had the same problem. Their 4Ss aren't charging either. One of them had a fried board according to the tech. At least my HW checked out OK. It just won't charge.
The tech tried to tell me that it was because my connector was corroded, which I told him was kind of a weak argument since evidence points to that the update has something to do with it.
They're seeing a lot of these and it looks like they already have a script.
Luckily I had enough juice left to recycle it for like $180, so I picked up a 5S with a new 2 year.
It looked to me like this is going to blow up pretty big. Like class action lawsuit big.
If you have an iPhone 4 or 4S, and you haven't updated it to iOS 7, don't for now. See if a patch comes out that doesn't brick your phone. Or get an induction charger maybe? Don't just update and expect absolutely no problems because too many people are having problems right now. -
A 6 and a 6 Plus with seperate phone numbers are receiving txts sent to only one number. They share the same iTunes acct. Is this the problem?
Hmm... Just found out the 6 and 6 Plus were updated to 8.1.1 today. Coincidently, that's when this started.
Another thing is both phones ring and you can answer either one, or both. fwding is not selected.

Just activated BlueAnt S4 with my iPhone4 and having an issue with the Phone Commands - as I have multiple numbers for people (ie: iPhone, Work, Home), is it the BlueAnt that is having the issues or the iPhone? Tried to eliminate info on my partner's contact in with only 2 contact numbers (iPhone, Home) and one or the other is totally screwing up. Seems, from BlueAnt website, that it would be the iPhone contacts...and the guessing begins?!! Anyone else have similar issues when BlueAnt S4 was paired and giving 'Phone Commands'?? Any suggestions would be beneficial as I've spent way too much time on the web looking for a good fix/answer. Thanks.
On your new phone: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. Start over, this time using your new ID.

Launch iTunes on your computer, plug the phone in & on the "Summary Pane", select "Restore". This will restore the phone to factory settings with all of your son's stuff gone. You can now use it as an iPod touch. To do this REQUIRES the deactivated sim card be still installed in the phone.

Last Thursday May 10th I received a prompt from the Automatic Update to update the iOS to Ver. 10.7.4, set the start and was watching the progress when it stopped with an error message saying that it was not able to update, right below there was a buttom "RESTART", pressed the buttom and waited to re-boot.....That was the end of my computer, somehow the update crashed my HD beyond recover, it would only show the gray screen with Apple logo in the center and kept beeping, BEEP BEEP BEEP.....PAUSE.....BEEP BEEP BEEP.....PAUSE.....on and on and on and it never past that.
Friday May 11 I took it to a retailer where I received the bad news that the HD was crashed and the teck couldn't even try to copy anything from it as it couldn't locate it. I checked iCloud on a hope that all my stuff would be there but new surprise, iCloud didn't kept all of my stuff as it was programmed to.
Now here is the funny part, the tech from the retailer informed me that the only thing they could do was to order a new HD for my 4 months old Macbook and that the time to have my computer back will be at least 15 days, now that is the funny part, I fail to understand why do I have to suffer the hassle of loosing all my data plus wait at least 15th days to have my computer back (meanwhile loose work) on a problem caused by Apple, PROBLEM, not machine defect, clearly my computer had no problem untill I followed the procedure to update.
On Saturday May 12 I contacted Local Apple Support (I have failed to mention that I live in Brasil) and they informed me that what the dealer said was the only thing that could be done, too bad for me if I lost everything, going to loose several days of work and whenever I receive my computer back will have to re-construct all my life and deal with the forever lost data.....DEAL WITH IT
After a couple of discussion with Apple Support and the Dealer, I made my decision to take the Macbook to the dealer today for repair and meanwhile I'm opening a case with the Brazilian Justice to have Apple honor with all the trouble and hassle that it is causing me, it's said that I have to take this type of action as I'm a very fan of Apple and it's products, have had several iPods, iPhones, Macbooks, Keyboards, Mouses, Apple TV, etc.....This i the first time I have a problem with a Apple product and got a taste of the "Apple Care", it seems like Apple is more concerned on seeling products then keeping long time customers happy.
One last thing, today when I was at the dealer to drop my computer for repair, the Technician informed me that he also had a computer crashed and the HD erase on Sunday May 13th in the same way of mine, after the update everything was gone, also he said that we were not the only ones, iPads and iPhones were going trough the same situation, update causing complete breakdown.

That's exactly what Time Machine does for you. It backs up every hour, so you don't have to. While it is backing up, you keep on working. Time Macvhine came with your Mac and you chose not to use it.
The 10.7.4 update did not cause your hard disk to fail. Hard disk fail due to mechanical causes. They are extremely reliable, but that doesn't mean every hard disk will last a long time. Your mileage WILL vary!
If you are dependent on your computer and the data stored on it, then you should make sure you have AT LEAST two copies of all data and probably three or four. You should use at least two means of backing up in case the backup software has a problem. And you should consider having a backup computer if you live in an area where replacement takes too long (whatever too long is for your business).
Apple hardware and software is very, very good. You have documented your experience of this. But NO hardware or software is perfect. You also have experience of this.
It is YOUR responsibility to ensure that your system is set up to protect your data and availability of computing resources. -
MAB and 802.1x issues with IP-phone
I'm trying to use 802.1x to authenticate clients on my network with dynamic VLAN assignment from RADIUS. We have IP-Phones(powered by PoE) that only supports EAP-MD5, and we would rather use MAB(it also uses LLDP-MED for some settings) to authenticate the phones using the MAC-range from the phones vendor. The following scenario works perfect:
Connect the phone and let it boot up(takes a while) and authenticate with MAB.
Connect a computer in the phones data-port and let it authenticate with 802.1x(or fail and reach guest-vlan)
However, the following scenario doesn't work:
The computer is already connected to the phone
The phone is then connected to the switch
What happends now is that the computer is authenticated using 802.1x before the phone boots up and get's authenticated with MAB. When the phone is ready, it's authenticated with MAB and everything works. However, after a short period(let's say a minute), using `debug authentication all`, we see a "NEW LL MAC: phones mac" message(which is weird since the mac has already been MAB-authenticated), and then we are unable to contact the phone using ping. When I check `show mac address-table` it has now moved the mac from `Port Gi 0/12` to `Port Drop`. However, if I check `show mab interface Gi 0/12` or `show authentication sessions` it lists the phones-mac as `mab auth sucess `.
Can anyone explain why the first scenario works, and not the second?

Btw, when we tried authenticating the phones using 802.1x too (EAP-MD5), there are NO problems in any of the scenarios. However, we want to use MAB instead of 802.1x to avoid the requirement of configuring the phones with a username and password. The RADIUS response was the same when using 802.1x as it is with MAB for the phones (including device-traffic-class=voice AV-pair).Hey. Yes, as specified in the last sentence in my post, the phone is placed in the Voice Domain, and both RADIUS and LLDP-MED (network policy profile 1) specifies voice vlan as 90.
The weird thing is that everything works fine if both use 802.1x, and that there is only a problem when phone(using MAB) already has the computer connected to it, when the phone is turned on(connected to PoE-switch). It must be because the computer boots up and authenticates first I think.

I looked at the specs from the Cannon website on both machines and could not find anything to answer my question. Maybe I missed it but I figured the Cannon users can point me in right direction. I love my Cannon camera and I am seriously looking at the MG series of printers for home to replace my HP printer that has lost its mojo.

Safari is not working and siri only works with the phone not internet related questions.
I have an Iphone 5 and for about 8 months it worked find, then somewhere along the line I think about the time I upgraded to the latest OS, Safari stopped working. That is when I hit a link from email or open safari I get the browser window but nothing works, like its been blocked. Siri of course only works with internal serches, through contacts and such. My other browsers (crome, oprea and mercury) work fine. I have been through all the internal settigns I can find, but nothing has worked. Have cleared history cookes with no suceess. Any ideas?

The first thing I recommend is quitting and relaunching the applications on your iPhone:
Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.

If you are still seeing the same issue after quitting and relaunching the apps that are open, I recommend restarting your phone and then resetting if it's still not working:
Restarting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Note: Reset your device only if you are unable to restart it.

When I went into the Facebook app on my iPhone 4S, I tried finding friends through my contact list. I thought only contacts with cellphone numbers matching a Facebook profile would appear to add as a friend. What's being populated are friends of my friends. Why is this happening? A friend of a friend isn't my contact. Shouldn't a true contact have a phone number in my contact list when attempting to match contact to Facebook profile or did things change with iOS 7.0.3??
Many mail clients reject images, JavaScript and embedded CSS styles. For best results use plain text near the top to communicate your message and give a link to the actual web page on your server.
For mail clients that do have limited support for HTML, use uncomplicated tables and inline CSS rules (inside the body tag).
All that meta data description is a red flag to spam filters. You shouldn't be using meta description or keywords in e-mails.

I just updated my phone. I went to update an application and clicked on update all. It didn't ask for my password and now all apps that are supposed to be updating say, "Waiting".
The other problem I'm having is that I cannot access my current emails. Error Message says that it cannot find server or it cannot connect to server"
How do I fix these issues?You could unplug your router than plug it back in. You could turn the iPhone completely off and then back on.

The farm was upgraded from MOSS 2007 to SP 2010. There are a small number of sites that contain lists and libraries which are no longer accessible. I would like to delete these, but when I open the site in SP Designer 2010, it does not display any of the
lists or libraries - good or bad. There is a left column entry called lists and libraries, but when I click on it, it says there are no items to show in this view. There are lists and libraries that work just fine.
I have full control on the site. I have also tried using sharepoint admin accounts. SPD 2010 brings up the site. If I go into Site Settings > Site Lists and Libraries, the list and library that I want to delete are listed there for customization,
but selecting either of them results in an error message.

According to your description, these lists might be corrupted during the upgrade from MOSS 2007 to SharePoint 2010.
We can use PowerShell to delete these lists:

#Set the AllowDeletion Flag to True
