Int, Double Help please

Ok, I give up. I cannot figure out the most elementary of concepts here and am tired and frustrated.
My code will not help the question so I won't waste space with it. Here is my problem:
I am creating an applet to calculate fabric yardage. I need to be able to read in the input which will either be an int or a double/float to 2 decimal places.
I will then use that to calculate yardage using a numberOfStrips * width style equation. This equation will need to be rounded up to the nearest integer, thus, a 2.34 will need to go up to a 3 not down to a 2.
I have tried every combination of float, double, int and cannot figure this out. I cannot use the double.parseDouble() to read in a double because Netscape will not recognize it and any time I attempt to cast to a double from an int, or vice versa, I just get 'loss of precision' errors from compilers.
I am giving up for now but I hope someone can help me figure this out. (Why don't they teach real world stuff like this in classes!)

there.Wow, thanks everyone, I wil try these suggestions. when I was trying to use double.parseDouble() in netscape (communicator 4.78), it just doesn't do anything. It loads the applet, but when I press the button, nothing.
I found on another site, the O'Reilly site, and it said that Netscape doesn't recognize Double without the plug-in. Problem is, I am trying to install the plug-in, and it doesn't find Netscape as a browser option. Ugh. I have to assume that this will work for all users so if it crashes on Netscape, need to figure out how to get around that.
I will try these suggestions.

Please suggest me how to insert the dml_stmt into the table column..
I have the field called dml_statement field, in that user will give the dml statements..
my program will pass this argument to the procedure and that procedure will insert the data into the table called dml_table(in dml_stmt column)
For simple insert stmt, data is inserting into the table but for the dml whoes having the single quote, it does not getting inserted into the table...
Let me explain this more clearly:
1)ENTER THE DML_STMT : INSERT INTO TABLE_NAME(COL1) VALUES(3434);
ABOVE DML IS GETTING INSERTED BY THE PROCEDURE INTO THE TABLE DML_TABLE:
2)ENTER THE DML_STMT : INSERT INTO DML_TABLE(DML_STMT) VALUES('3424');
ABOVE DML IS NOT GETTING INSERTED BY THE PROCEDURE, I HAVE FOUND
THE PROBLEM TOO BUT CANT OVERCOME THIS.BECAUSE OF THE SINGLE QUOTE PROCEDURE
CANT INSERT THE ABOVE DML INTO THE DML_TABLE

Its nice to meet you again, i am adding the one more parameter for the create_trigger parameter called dml_stmt.
There is a problem while inserting the dml_stmt which is having the single quote(')....please refer the screenshot for more details..

Double Click Functionality - Help Please

Hi,
In ControlPanel >> Mouse Properties >> there is an option for increasing the double click speed.
Similarly , i need to have a JSlider , getting User Input from the JSilder Object, thereby increasing the double click speed for my Swing Application.
how to do this one in swing ???

Windows tells java how fast the clicks were. To change this property in java gets very confusing, because you will need to time the interval between clicks since I don't think you can change this system setting from your program. It is far easier to just stay with the double click speed set by windows.

I need help please !!!!!
I have PSE 6 for my imac and bought myself a NIKON D60 so far so good. I have installed PSE 6 which comes with ADOBE Bridge CS3
I have bought a book as well as I am new to photoshop and in fact DSLR cameras.
I have got my photos into Bridge OK by the way they are JPEG format. According to the book I can open the JPEG in camera RAW by either selecting the JPEG and then pressing cmd+R or by selecting the JPEG and select open with and camera RAW should be available to selct.
I cannot get of the options to work any ideas please
Secondly I have taken some photos in RAW format and put then into Bridge again I cannot get the camera RAW interface to open with these neff images.
If I try to open the image PSE 6 opens and gives me an error that the file format is not supported by PSE 6
Am I missing something here as I have been trying for a week now !!!!!

There's no "theory" about it. You should be able to open a raw file from bridge by double-clicking it, but it will open in ACR in PSE. You can't just use ACR within bridge in PSE, if that's what you're trying to do. To open a JPEG in ACR, go to file>Open in PSE and choose Camera raw as the format after you select the file but before you click Open.
If you've correctly updated ACR, bridge should show you thumbnails of your raw files. If it doesn't try emptying the Bridge cache.

Have you tried disconnecting and re-connecting to your network ?. And when you say rebooted do you mean a reset ? If not then try that : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
You could also try closing those apps completely. From the home screen (i.e. not with any of those apps 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the iTunes, App Store and iBooks apps to close them, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.

Move the domain.sites file from one computer to the other.
The file is located under User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites. Move this file to the same location on the other computer and double click and iWeb will open it. Remember, it is your User Library that you want and not your System Library, as you will not find iWeb there.
Just create a new site on the same domain file and it will appear below the other site. If you want them side by side then duplicate your domain file and have one site per a domain file and they can then be side by side.

Try this first.
Go to Settings>Safari>Clear History, Cookies and Data. Restart the iPad. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If that doesn't work, reboot the iPad - or quit all apps and restart.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Quit all apps completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.

Select "Save" instead of "Run". Once downloaded, double click the iTunesetup.exe to install.

WEBUTIL not working, some help please

Hi,
I am new to Forms 10G and I am starting conversion from Forms 6i. I think I have setup WEBUTIL as decribed in Oracle documentation, step by step. I noticed that none of the calls to WEBUTIL API's are working. For test I tried to delete a file by running: "client_host('cmd /c del c:\putty.log');"
It came back with error:
"oracle.forms.webutil.host.Host bean not found. WEBUTIL_HOST.Execute will not work."
What am I missing? Could anyone help please?

I have done the following test:
1. Create new module
2. Add a block manualy
3. Add a button on the block
4. In the WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger add : "client_host('cmd /c del c:\putty.log');"
5. Attach webutil.pll removing the path
6. Compiled Ok
7. Executing the form returns the error mentioned above
than
8. Open webutil.olb object library from form builder
9. Double click on the MAIN tab
10. Drag the WEBUTIL object group under object groups node of my form subclassing it which added the following objects to my form:
a) WEBUTIL_ERROR under alerts node
b) WEBUTIL under data blocks node
c) WEBUTIL_CANVAS under canvases node
d) WEBUTIL under object groups node
e) WEBUTIL_HIDDEN_WINDOW under windows node
11. Compile OK
12. Works

I am trying to download a plug in called adobe flash player 10.1.102 and error shows up that says instalation encountered errors sign in under administraive privileges and try again and i dont understand what that is or what to do. help please!
