Integrate Adobe Designer with ABAP Workbench WEB AS 6.2

Hi,
I believe Adobe designer integration works from WEB AS 6.40. I read in someother post, its possible with older version too. is it true?.If so, we have WEB AS 6.2. I downloaded Adobe Designer 6.0.2,Do i need to configure to integrate or will it be automatically configured once i download the Designer .
I am trying to develop PDF forms using SAP Help but I dont see the Adobe components in the Form Builder.
Please help me understand.

Hi Sujatha,
SAP PDF-based forms technology (i.e. SAP Interactive Forms technology) is similar to SAP SAP Smart Forms technology. The form has a layout part and interface part. Generated form is a generated function module. The difference is that you need additionally ADS for PDF-based forms in runtime.
Printing program is calling generated function module of the form and sending printing data via interface of the function module. You can prepare printing data via local call (select, function module, local method etc.) or via RFC call to back-end system.
There is one disadvantage of RFC only: to create form interface in the design phase you need all used data types locally. Using SAP WebAS 6.40 without any application and R/3 Enterprise back-end for instance you miss some data types in SAP WebAS 6.40 and you have to create/import them there.

I am using NetWeaver 7.0 Enhancement Package . In my flex bulder I have created a bindable variable "newVar" of type string and in my ABAP WD , I have used the same name in the "Name" of the GAC property and bind the value property with a context attribute
In my .SWF mime object imported in my WD ABAP application , I have a input field . Now I want this field to be defaulted with some value .For this , I am using the set_attribute method in WD DOINIT of my ABAP WD application , but I am not able to set the field with some value .
Can any one please reply me ASAP , where am I missing ?

yes Thomas thnx for your reply , I am able to transfer values back to the WDA from Flex , binding names are same . I had also verified in the
IRS_Scripts.as under the flex builder and had given the same name in my WDA ..
is there any standard document regarding this .. so that I can match my steps , I had searched on SDN forum but not able to find any so far , any blog or some other help regarding this

Using Adobe form designer in ABAP Workbench

Hi,
I am trying to do a POC on PDF generations from ABAP workbench( not from Net weaver developer studio) .
Right now when I go into SFP transaction and clcik on layout tab it gives me error saying 'Error occured in communicating with layout editor' . i am thinking this may be because of i dont have Adobe form designer on my machine. Is it needs to be installed on sever or each machine.
Can anyone guide me on how to start.

The designer is required, but it is included with the SAPGui 640 (if you choose it in the installation). If you are on SP12 or higher you need an update to the designer that doesn't come with the SAPGui (Designer 7.0). You can download this by itself from the Service Marketplace. There is an OSS note with install instructions. You do have to remove any old versions before you install the new one.

Someone told me that the difference between CE 7.1 ESR and PI 7.1 ESR is that to register the ABAP web service into CE 7.1 ESR you need to create EJBs and that you don't need to do this for PI 7.1 ESR (since ithe PI 7.1 ESR is ABAP based). I didn't think that this was the case so I put this question in this forum to confirm this. I am arguing to put in CE 7.1 because we don't need the PI 7.1 functionality. This someone told me that we are more of an ABAP shop than a Java shop and that we don't want to develop EJBs whenever we develop ABAP based web services.

I am using SFP transaction to creation of Adobe forms .I am doing it for the first time . I just got front end installed with adobe livecycle . should i do anything more to get the designer in the layout tab of SFP transaction .
I am currently getting a error sapofficeintegration trace 141 .. I have not configured ADS is this because of this .

I will suggest you to have Adobe Reader >7
SAP GUI with patchlevel >18.
ADLCD >= 7.
Even you dont have ADS you must be able to see ADLCD in SFP. but you wont be able to activate ya get the output.
if you have properly copied the ADLCD seperatley into the Adobe Folder. while clicking the layout tab. open the ADLCD seperately. see if it gets opened.
or design it in ADLCD and import and export the xdp through fb_xdp_down and fb_xdp_up transactions.

Need to know, can we run Online Adobe interactive form using ABAP ( Not webdynpro ABAP or Java) workbench? If so how? and if possible please provide the driver program which run the form & after filling it, it updates SAP data online.

That is possible by using FLM tool. You need to buy it separately. Its an ARCH product. Or if its HR forms then you can use HCM proceess & forms.

Adobe forms with ABAP AS

i need to know is it possible to work with adobe froms while i'm using only ABAP AS without JAVA AS, in other words will it be possible to install the ADS on an ABAP AS ?

No problem, you're welcome
Check to see if you have a recent(version 7.0) Solution Manager system running in your landscape which uses a Java AS and will come with ADS pre-installed. If you're not going to use ADS too heavily then you could always make use of this system by linking it with your ABAP systems.

I recently had to make an AIR app demo of an app that was being done in PhoneGap. Some of the navigation around the site didn’t work, because the HTML was talking to layers in PhoneGap, but for the pages that did work, the AIR version worked better. For example, maps that were in the pages would zoom and pan in AIR, but were static in PhoneGap.

Change Javascript Files in Abap Workbench

Hi,
I'm currently creating some javascript ui5 applications, which are running in an ABAP System. All works fine. Now I have to change something in the javascript coding which is currently displayed as a mine object in the System.
To change something an external editor (Textpad) is opened. Is there a way to open the document directly in the SAP GUI?

If all you want is use of the text-based change of the files, maybe you could ignore se80 (I believe that could be just too much). You could try creating an own transaction to do all this (with some enjoy controls, like the tree for the projects / files hierarchy, textedit for the code itself).
Using this approach you would not need to handle special situations witth the status buttons of the screen in the environment and everything could be set-up easily in customer transaction.

Referred Some PDF's from 8.1 Bookshelf and clearly mentioned as Required Adobe Live Cycle Designer, Adobe Form Server
Can we get the same from edelivery.oracle.com or should we refer any other website?
Also Mentioned some JAR Files are required for Adobe Integration, where do we get these JAR Files
I have gone through with one of Siebel Public Sector's Functional Overview from iLearning.oracle.com, they mentioned
Siebel Self-Service, to see the Siebel Self-Service Functionality what is the CFG File we have to use?

Siebel does offer email functionality directly within Siebel CRM. so to have everythign within the CRM it would be the most straigth forward approach to handle all the medias from the beginning within Siebel --> having all contact history already at the place in the CRM where your customer requests to have it.
for the voice and mail channel there is a multi channel adapter available integrating Cisco UCCE and Siebel CRM. Siebel does today not contain of a dedicated chat modul - so this isn't integrated (yet).
is chat a requirement you do face today? or as you talk about EIM "only" voice and mail?

He used flex 3 to develop the flex application. i am using flex 4 downloaded from adobe(At a time Build release I used low version only 3.5). I followed all the steps. At a time of Run the data was not came.
How to fetch the data?
