Integrate BW with Java

Hello Experts,
     Is there a way to build reports on Java application using BW as the source without BAPI/RFC or XMLA. Since I am a BW developer, I know to build the reports but not ABAP coding to call the RFC's into Java. I am asking from BW perspective and not Java i.e. best and easy way to integrate both.
Thanks,
Nikki

Hello Nikki,
For details look at the BI Java SDK in SDN - https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/downloaditem.sdn?res=/html/BIJavaSDK_download.htm
This works with BW 3.5.
Cheers
Aneesh

  • Is it possible to Integrate dos with Java to create a sample compiler?

    Is it possible to Integrate dos with Java to create a sample compiler, or do I have to write the compiler from scratch? In theory, I would like to have users enter sample code in a java text field, hit a java button that would compile/run the code, by calling a dos command prompt that would run it, and display any error messages back to the java text field. Does anyone know if this is possible? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    There is a Compiler class you might be able to use also:
    C:\jdk1.3.1_01\docs\api\java\lang\Compiler.html
    So perhaps there is no need to create a process to compile code. But I don't know if you can get information about compiler errors.

    After the ECC6.0 Version Most of the JAVA things are integrated in Netweaver components like BSP,WAS, XI and Enterprise Portals etc
    So if you are good in JAVA these things are very useful and through this you can easily integrate JAva with SAP

  • Flex with JAVA - Query?

    Dear Experts,
    I would like to develop one small CRM Product using JAVA Programming Language, However which concepts of Java to be used for development is still on it's way to Identify. recently I heared of Adobe Flex concept and have done enough research to explore the use and it's quite interesting.
    I though to Use Adobe Flex (Flash Builder) as an User Interface (UI) for my application for attractive look and feel, where as business logic should be in JAVA program. UI has to receive User commands from front-end and process to back-end application logic for processing.
    Can anybody kindly advise on bellow of my doubts:
    1. Is Flex Professional user License is just enough to build my application or anyother components to buy to integrate with JAVA/J2EE Code i.e. Live Cycle Services?
    2. Use of Live Cycle Services and it's Cost per User/CPU?
    3. Validity period of Flex Builder License (Life time or Specific period)
    4. How can I get more detailed information on Product, Services etc., from Adobe and it's contact number. as I'm in India.
    Kindly advise on my above queries and it would be a great help.. Many Thanks in advance.

  • AE with java

    Our shop has a lot of apps written in java and ruby, and I'm trying to integrate with these apps to perform standard operations without rewriting a ton of code. One problem I have with java is that stdout or console does not show up from our PS environments. I have tried using java object method calls or using log4j as found in Jim's blog. I just can't get anything that the java application outputs to stdout or to console to show up in the view log / trace. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!! to Jim,
    This is what I use
    class MY_BATCH_LOG
    method MY_BATCH_LOG();
    method println_to_stdout(&message As string);
    method println_to_stderr(&message As string);

    &msgLog_.println_to_stdout(" Generated On : " | %Datetime);

  • Integrating Excel with Java

    Hi,
    How can Excel be integrated with Java such that if a user is working on an Excel , my Java application should be able to capture all the events from Excel Sheet.
    I have looked into POI, but it seems to me , it can read and wriite to Excel from Java, but i would like that if a user is making changes to a spredsheet then my Java Application should be notified about those changes
    In short, i would like to expose front end of a web application in Execl!
    Is there any open source package that can help in doing the integration
    Kindly share your views/ suggestions

    Can i use JNI to listen to COM server, probaly if i create some proxies for Excel that use JNI to listen to COM Server.
    I found a link on the internet http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/java/library/j-bridge/
    This Java bridge can integrate COM objects into their applications. But i am not sure if i can capture the live stuff from an Excel file when somebody is editing it.
    Also i would like to know, what should be the best stratergy when i would like to expose the Front end of an application in Excel , since the application involves a lot of numbers and users are more comfortable with Excel interface, and the rest of the application you want in Java.
    Kindly share your views on this!
