Integrate into Java project without installing runtime

Hi,
in JavaFX 1.x I was able to launch my applications out of a pure Java project just by adding myapp.jar and the JavaFX runtime JARs to the Java project. So installing the runtime itself was not necessary.
Is this possible with JavaFX 2.0 too? I tried to add the jfxrt.jar to a Java project - but without any success.
The reason why I want to do this is, that users of the Java application won't be happy about an additional installation process for the JavaFX runtime...
thanks!

Unfortunately at the moment they will have to install it. There was a fairly heated conversation on this a while back:
Re: Why can't we redistribute the runtime!!!!  You said we could before!
As you can see from the forum there is some licencing still to sort out for this.
Using webstart it is relatively easy to trigger the JFX install but, yea, it's still quite annoying.
Java8 will have it all included which will make life easier (a bit of an unfortunate strategy not to do this straight up, but I don't think the JFX guys had much say in that one).

  • Running forms 6i on client without installed runtime !

Dear proffesionals, what do you think about code below-we tried to enable our users to run applications developed in Forms 6i, without installed runtime on their machines. Is this solutions good, and why ? We installed forms6i runtime on the server, and make batch script (with code below), and make .exe file from that. Than we send link to users with locations of that .exe file? Is this way possible to run application through VPN ?

In order to distribute a Forms 6i application to a client you really only have three (3) choices.
    1. Install the Forms Runtime on each PC (truely distributed application).
    2. Deploy the application using desktop virtualization (Citrix, etc). This option requires a Virtualization server.
    3. Web Deployed. (This requires the addition of an Application server and does require some type of installation on the client (the Oracle Jinitiator), but this can be automated with the Web Deployment.) Check out this link [Forms 6i Documenation|http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/6i_forms.html] and scroll to the bottom and view the "Oracle Forms Developer Release 6i: Deploying Forms Applications to the Web with Oracle Forms Server" document.
    Hope this helps.

  • Running java application without installing JRE

We try to run Java application without installing JRE, by copying java.exe (and other JRE files) together with our jar file. This does not work.
    Can it be solved?

Can you elaborate on the steps to create a java
    application without installing JRE.
    Regards,
    padmaPadma,
The solution is to deploy my JAR together with JRE files, without running standard JRE installation. This makes possible to simply ensure that my JAR will run with THIS SPECIFIC JRE. This is important from QA point of view. Also, installation of my application does not change configuration of JVMs on the computer.
    The solved problem:
Standard JRE installation may change the default JRE for many Java applets and application on computer. Changing version JRE may lead to some programs misbehaviour (JRE backward compatibility does not always work and different Java versions not always live together well). Thus, some IT departments are very nervous about JRE version change.
Hope, this explains my problem and the solution.

    Hi all,
I am using DeJDecompiler and working with swing applications. If I try to convert a .class file into .java file,it is converting into .jad file only.Fine but if I try to save that file into .java file,It is giving lot of errors in that program. When I went into that program the total style of the program is changed and TRY-CATCH block is not recognised by the dejdecompiler, hence If I try to include some methods in the existing .java file thus got,I could not do.Kindly help me.
If I get the .java file without error then I can process the rest of the functionality.

  • Convert photo in iphoto to put into iMovie project without affecting quality

Hi, hope someone can help. I am trying to put a photo from iPhoto into an iMovie project, but no matter what pixel change i try, whenever i put it into the iMovie project I get black bars each side of the photo and the photo doesn't fill up the full movie screen. Does anyone know if there's a way to do this without affecting the quality of the photo?

This happens because the image is a different aspect ratio from the movie, so make sure that you're cropping to the same dimensions.

  • How to import BC4J package into JDEV project without server.xml file?

    Dear,
I need to bring the seeded BC4J package into my JDEV OAF project. Usually to do that, once I am sure that all I need is accessible, I open the server.xml file for the BC4J that I need and I am all set - all the items from under that BC4J are brought in.
How about if there is no server.xml file for that BC4J, for example, under oracle.apps.icx.por.req.webui, and I need to have a controller from under there in my project? Do I create this package (oracle.apps.icx.por.req.webui) manually? If I do that and then open the controller the controller is being brought into JDEV outside the package.
    Thank you.
    Anatoliy

    Sumit,
    Thank for quick response.
Yes, I agree for the controller.
But let's say I want to bring over some other xml staff, like some shared regions for example from under that webui. They are also brought outside the package. You have an idea?
    Regards,

  • How to put ActionScript into Catalyst project via Flash Builder?

I don't know if this is the wrong place to put this, but I need to add some ActionScript into my Catalyst project... from what I understand, it can only be done via Flash Builder. Am I right? How?

    Hi Alex,
To edit the code of a Flash Catalyst project, you can import it into Flash Builder as follows:
File > Import > Flash Builder Project
Select the FXP file from Catalyst
Make sure "Import new copy of project" is selected, then hit Finish
I'm not sure where you got the ActionScript code that you're planning to use, but it may be difficult to integrate into your project if it's not designed for use with Flex (a lot of AS code snippets you'll find online are just for general use in Flash, not tailored for Flex applications).  But you'll probably want to do something like this:
Locate the image you want to make random.  If you're having trouble doing this, switch the view to Design mode, select the image with the mouse, and then switch back to Code mode to see the corresponding code highlighted.
If there's no id attribute set on the image, add one (so you can refer to it in code later).
If the tag is s:BitmapImage, change it to mx:Image (this is needed to make the contents dynamic)
If the root s:Application tag doesn't have a creationComplete handler, add one (type it partway, then hit Ctrl+Space, then choose "Generate Handler").
In the handler, add your code to randomly select an image filename.
    Then set <your image's id>.source = <filename>
    Hope that helps!
    - Peter

  • Packaging and installing a java project

    Hi everyone,
I have a java project which has been developed in Eclipse IDE. I would like to package the project so that i it can be installed and can be run as a stand alone product.
Any tools that would help me do packaging and installing a java project?
    Thank you.

Easiest way to package a Java project is to create an executable jar for it. You probably should google for more information on the 'jar.exe' program (sry for window bias)
If you have external dependencies you should put those in separate jars and include them in the classpath in the jar manifest file.
The only other thing to worry about is getting java installed on other people's machines. In general it is best if possible to have them download java themselves as they will get the latest and greatest from this website. If that's not possible you may want to look into getting sun's permission to distribute Java with your app.

  • Loading a Java project into Eclipse.

I am trying to load a project from in eclipse
The project is in c:\Project and is called ABC.
My workspace in eclipse is c:\MyWorkspace.
I am trying to import this project into the above workspace
I am saying: New - Project - Java Project - Create project from existing source (and point it to c:\Project\ABC)
    Error:The specified location already exists.
How do I get project ABC into my workspace ?
    I seem to have forgotten

Just move the folder "ABC" from C:\Project to C:\Workspace
then create a new Java Project named "ABC" and you are all set.
Don't choose "Create from existing project" Just create the project.

I have been looking for an install guide that specifically mentions how to install into an LDOM without jumpstarting. There are a few hints about mounting an ISO, but that has not worked for me. I am using a T2000, with Firmware 6.4.6 and LDOM 1.0 software.

Installing from an ISO/DVD is possible with OpenSolaris - snv_77 or later. The support will also be in S10U5.
