Integrated login

Hi, i'm having a problem with integrated login and hope someone can help me
out.
I have build 510 of NCL 1.2 installed on the SLED 10 preview release.
Following the directions I input all the information on the Novell Login
screen and in the startup tab checked the boxes marked "Run Novell Client
Login at session startup" and "Save profile after the sucesful login".
When I click ok it then logs me in ok and runs the login script, and then
pops up a message saying: "eDirectory login profle for user matt have been
saved for use at next session startup".
However the next time I log in nothing happens, it does not log me in to
novell at all. When I go back in to the Novell Login the "Run Novell
Client Login at session startup" box is no longer checked
Any ideas where I am going wrong?

Ah that'll explain it then, is there a later build available Joe or should
I just hang on?

  • Integrated login not working

Ok, I think I'm doing something wrong, but I just can't figure out what it
is. I've got SLED & the 1.2 client installed on it. If I log off and log
back on, all existing mappings and connections are kept. But if I restart
they go away and I have to manually login. I never see the login script
just come up automatically. Sounds like integrated login isn't working,
though I've done the CASA config & I've saved that profile in the Novell
    client.
Perhaps this extra tidbit will shed some light. On the system message
console (or whatever you call the ALT-F10 screen), these messages appear:
    pam_autoncl[3478]: pam_ncl_autologin authenticate started.
pam_autoncl[589]: Tree "HSE_TREE" not found in miCASA.
ncl_autologin[716]: Integrated Novell Client Login at startup.
ncl_autologin[716]: Tree "HSE_TREE" not found in miCASA.
ncl_autologin[716]: Error, failed to get CASA credentials.
    Any ideas?

Sounds like the CASA store is not getting opened properly indeed.
Can you run the casa manager after you log in and check that it openes
everything ok pls. Have you set a master password for it?

  • Novell Client integrated login fails on reboot.

I have LUM, NCL and CASA enabled and everything works just fine. I can log
in as a user, save the profile, log in and out and get integrated login.
The problem is that if i reboot SLED and try the same user that worked 30
times in a row before it complains about "ncl_autologin[716]: Tree "" not
found in miCASA." and fails to do the integrated login. If i look at the
profile in the client everything looks just fine and i can login without
errors if i supply the password again.
In the Casa store i can see the tree and the password.
I have SLP setup on the OES server and slptool on the SLED box connects to
the OES server and works properly. All three buttons on the linux client
works and finds trees, contexts and servers. I have reproduced the error on
three different hardwares with different media for the install.
Have anyone else reproduced this error? I have followed the documentation
to the letter but integrated login still just fails after every reboot i make.
Any ideas no matter how longshot is much appriciated, i just have to get
    this working.

I have a group of users i try with and it looks the same on all of them
regardless of what i do. CASA stores the info and when i reboot it looses
something that i cant really see. I have three computers with SLED on now
and they all look exactly the same when i look in CASA and compares the
info on a rebooted and a non rebooted computer.
I will do a trace on the .miCASA files and see if i can spot any
differences between a rebooted and a non rebooted computer on monday.
One question, does it work for you after a reboot?

  • LUM, integrated login, roaming profile

Re-reading many message threads in this and other forums, I'm
confused. For SLED, LUM creates users accounts on-the-fly after eDir
login (like DLU on ZEN on Windows), the Novell client reads login
scripts and maps drives (like on Windows) but integration with LUM is
less than transparent, and there may or may not be plans to support
roaming profies, without which settings and user document folders are
stuck on each machine the account was created on, making it very
difficult to support without mass confusion.
I run a college network. If we are to have a chance to make people
interested in an alternative to Windows, all those functions must be
transparent to users (as it is with the Windows client and ZEN) --
they authenticate to the directory, their local account is created,
they get their network resources, and their roaming profile settings
and locations are as expected. They logout, their info is safe on the
network, their account is deleted. They go to the next class in a
different lab and repeat. This happens thousands of times per day in
30 different labs with students of wildly different capabilities and
    expectations. But it just works.
This has been the Novell experience since the beginning (16 years for
us). It is still valid. Anything less than this makes SLED an
unworkable alternative. I'm looking for a way to make it workable. By
summer we'll have 1200 XP/SLED dual boot machines in labs and offices.
To make SLED a viable alternative we need those other features.
Otherwise, it's just a toy for the curious. Unfortunate.
So, here are my end of year questions:
Which of these fundamental functions are working with which others?
Which ones are in the SP beta plans?
Which ones are not being planned?
What is the process for helping the planners understand the needs of
    the users out here?
    Thanks.
    Lyle

    Mark,
Thanks for the comments. I actually don't care if it doesn't implement
the same way as Windows. I agree, that is not a good model. Copying
the profile is dumb. If the plan is to simply mount the home, that's
    by far the best way.
I suspect that what we are working with is a terminology problem. If,
we define "roaming profile" to mean that the user sees what they
expect to see regardless of what machine they login to, that is all
that matters. The need to copy the profile on Windows causes all kinds
of problems and is a poor solution.
So, let me re-state what I feel our needs are: 1) the user, not having
a local account, authenticates to the linux workstation using eDir, 2)

  • Oracle WebLogic Portlets for Groupware Integration Login Configuration

I just integrated the groupware portlets into the portal, anyone knows how to config to get the microsoft exchange information.
Currently when I am running the portal, it will prompt me 'you must login to use this portlet', but I haven't found where to login.

I think that you are running into a requirement to authenticate to WebLogc Portal/Server, not Microsoft Exchange.
In order to subsequently collect your Exchange account, the portal must know your identity so that it can associate the Exchange credentials with your WLP username.
You'll need to add login capabilities to your desktop in order to proceed. A quick and easy way to do this is to include the DVT Sample library modules as the look and feels that come with that sample include login/logout capabilities in the shell.

  • 0xc000035b error during windows integrated login

I've been trying to setup an ADFS SQL farm. I've been running into an issue when trying to authenticate a use using Windows Integrate Authentication. I get it in all the browsers that I've tried (IE, Firefox, Chrome). What's happening is that the HTTP challenge
box keeps popping up. I put in valid credentials (I've entered them in in various forms, UPN, domain\username, etc.), but the system never accepts them and keeps challenging until I cancel or I get a 401. When I look into the logs I see the following:
An account failed to log on.

During the setup of the ADFS SQL farm, I got a warning about the service principle name being already taken by some other AD object. Upon further investigation, that error is appearing because the setup is trying to assign an SPN to a domain user that is
already assigned to the machine in the AD. So, I found ADFS docs that show how to manually assign an SPN to a service account. Still no go.
So here is a run down on how ADFS is being accessed. We have a reverse proxy that all web traffic is going through. The ADFS server farm (a farm of one server) is behind this reverse proxy. I've tried assigning SPNs to the service account that ADFS is running
under that reflect external and internal DNS names. Can anyone shed some light on this? Windows integrated auth works great when I setup a stand-alone server and don't have to do all the service account stuff.

    Hallis:
I have a web application running on Azure, the ADFS server is published to the internet using TMG.
When accessing the application from my internal network everything works as expected. I see from the logs that the user is loggen on using Kerberos. This works for both domain joined computers and others.
But, when accessing the application from outside my internal network I get the same behaviour as you described.
The only difference in these scenarios is the reverse proxy. When it fails NTLM is used, when it works Kerberos is used. Maybe ADFS does not support NTLM?

I'm having the same issue except replace a reverse proxy with a F5 Bigip. Anyone out there have any solutions or at least explain why it is failing?
    Hi all,
I've encountered the same issue a few of you mentioned above, when using a reverse proxy. In my case, the solution was to turn off Extended Protection (see
Configure Extended Protection in IIS 7.5 or
Windows Extended Protection) on the LS folder, or to configure it to match your use scenario and not perform channel-binding token (CBT) checking.
To turn Extended Protection off, on the AD FS server, launch IIS Manager, then, on the left side tree view, access
Sites -> Default Web Site -> adfs -> ls. Once you’ve selected the “/adfs/ls” folder, double-click the
Authentication icon, then right-click Windows Authentication and select
Advanced Settings… On the Advanced Settings dialog, choose Off for
    Extended Protection.

  • OAM and Oracle Apps R12.1.1. Integration : Login page re-direction issue

Iam facing redirection issue when I tried accessing the URL http://hostname:port/context/OAMLogin.jsp and its going to the page http://hostname:port/access/oblix/apps/webgate/bin/webgate.so but its not logging into the application
Please help me in this issue.
    Thanks,
    Rajendra.

Overlooked that you have already mentioned the version.
Then your issue is same as pretty much everyone facing it.
When Accessgate is deployed with script SSO_SERVER_RELEASE gets set to 10 in PLan.xml.
And as per the design if the SSO_SERVER_RELEASE is 10, then SSO_SERVER_URL will be hardcoded as /access/oblix/apps/webgate/bin/webgate.cgi.
If SSO_SERVER_RELEASE is 11, then SSO_SERVER_URL should be of format http://myoamserver.example.com:14100/oam/server/auth_cred_submit
So technically with v11 in our cases, it should not even go to webgate.so
So only option left is to deploy accessgate manually
let me know if you need more information with this

  • NCL and LUM gives: micasa broken and initial NCL login has scripts disabled at every login - so you have to change it manually after every reboot

I just made an interesting discovery.
I cloned an existing VM and moved it to another physical machine. This
machine was initially installed without LUM and as long as LUM was not
configured and only local authentication took place everything (NCL,
Micasa and integrated login) worked as documented.
After configuring LUM authentication, the following does not work:
Micasa (it does only work as long as the machine is up, after a restart
you have to enter passwords for all micasa enabled applications if you
use them for the first time during uptime)
NCL does not save the settings for scripts, they are always disabled by
default after the machine has come up. The settings for scripts do work
for all subsequent logins, just not for the first after booting the
    machine.
The same behaviour is shown by another machine, which has LUM
    configured for authentication.
Machines do not show this behaviour if using a local only user or if
    LUM authentication is removed.

  • Create new login

Hi Guys, hope someone can help.
I am trying to create an ODI operator user that can only view Sessions in Operator and cannot make any changes or stop/start.
In Security Manager I have created a user and added the Profiles "CONNECT" and "NG REPOSITORY EXPLORER" which I believe is enough to be just able to browse and monitor sessions.
I have then tried to create a new Login for this user by clicking the "New" icon on the Oracle Data Integrator login dialog.
This opens up a Work Repository Connection dialog. Login name I presume is a name I input for the new connection followed by the user and password I created above in Security Manager.
The Database Connection user and password I have used is the database user that was created when ODI was installed and is the password used on other connections we have. Tthe other fields are Oracle JDBC driver, the driver name auto fills and the URL is entered correctly as when I click Test to test the connection I get a successful connection - OK.
When I click OK to create the new login I get an error
    java.ioFileNotFoundException: .\snps_login_work.xml (Access is denied)
I have tried changing the permissions on the file and directory ($ODI_HOME/bin) to 777 but I get the same error when I try and create a new login.
It is driving me nuts; does anyone have a suggestion?
    Thanks.

    ODI version is 10.1.3.6.2
I have been trying today to find an equivalent to filemon for HP-UX but have not found one yet.
I have tried to set the various directories in the directory path $ODI_HOME/bin all to 777 and this does not allow me to greate a new login.
I have tried to create a login using SUPERVISOR/SUNOPSIS and I get the same error.
One possible (clutching at straws here) issue is the directory 3 directories up from $ODI_HOME/bin is owned by the database user and not the odi user (single node dev installation). Is this the problem?
    thanks

We never get a SYNCHRONIZATION_CHANGE event so my code just hangs waiting for login to complete.  This room has a large number of NetGroups in it, as we create a unique one for every conversation -- not sure if that is related to this issue, but thought it should be noted.
While I definitely want to get to the bottom of this issue to make sure it's not going to be a problem when we go to production, it would also be helpful to know if there is a way to recreate or reset a room in order to clear out all the NetGroups in it.  This would be extremely helpful for debugging (both now and when we go live), as it's near impossible to scroll through thousands of NetGroups in the RoomConsole and find the group I'm looking for.  I tried deleting this room and recreating it a few weeks ago, but when I did it seemed to still have all the old NetGroups in it.  Perhaps I'm misunderstanding how Applications, Rooms and NetGroups are aggregated.
Also, when our application is live, is there priority tech support available for blocking issues that occurring on the LCCS service itself?  Is that something we gain access to when we upgrade our dev account to a paid account?  I'd like to make sure I'm aware of the correct support channels before we go live.
    Thanks for the help.

Hi Antonio and sorry for the delay.
I neet to look at the server side log files and see if there is anything strange there. Somehow you may have managed to screw up the room
You should be able to delete the room and create it again. Just make sure you don't try to enter the room right before deleting it (the room stays "alive" for a few minutes and during that time it cannot be deleted - on my list of things to fix next year )

  • Webservices authentication against local vs. directory integration

On version CPSC 10.0 (at least), it appears that if you have Directory Integration enabled, the behavior for authentication for web services are as follows:
-- If calling any Requisition Service web services (that route to Request Center), web service authentication is performed against directory integration, so you are required to use a directory integrated login, and provide the login's LDAP password.
-- If calling any Task Service web services (that route to Service Link), web service authentication is performed against local person record password, so you are required to provide the login's local person record password.
Is there a way to use 'other' type of login/password for either web services? i.e. is there a way for me to use locally defined login to call Requisition Service web services, when Directory Integration is enabled, and vice versa for Task Service web services?
    Thank you.

I don't think having SSH keys has any effect at all over AFP authentication.  Two seperate authentication mechanisms at work here.
For SSH keys to work, each user ID on our local machines would need a matching network user defined on the server, and the authorized keys stored in that user's ~/.ssh folder on the server.
Once you get SSH working, you can use scp and rsync to move files around.

  • Integrated LDAP authentication and now BAM start page is very slow to load

    Hi, all~
I have a fresh install of BAM 10.1.3.3 with the 10.1.3.4 patch applied.
I've reviewed the BAM installation guide and LDAP integration tech note, and have been able to successfully integrate BAM with our LDAP, where "successful" means that I'm able to provide my own LDAP credentials and log in to BAM.
However, the BAM start screen now consistently takes somewhere on the order of 1-2 minutes to load... so I guess I'm wondering if there's a common cause for this sort of error?
Any suggestions of things to check would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    - Nathan

For whatever it's worth, the solution in our case was to decouple BAM (10g) from LDAP.
User administration becomes a slightly more manual process in this case, but the BAM pages load almost instantly for users now, whereas before for some users it would take as much as 10 minutes for a page to load following their logging in.
Another benefit from LDAP decoupling is that IIS is able to do Windows integrated login for users, meaning that the users don't need to provide a login and password any longer.
The one "gotcha" that was encountered had to do with IIS realms and creating JDeveloper connections to the BAM server following the decoupling. From our testing, under IIS -> Web Sites -> Default Web Site -> Properties -> Directory Security (tab) -> "Authentication and access control" Edit button, the following needs to be specified:
Check only "Integrated Windows login" and "Basic authentication"
Specify a "Default domain" by pressing the Select button and choosing an appropriate domain
From there, in your JDeveloper BAM connection, be sure to include the selected domain in your connection properties.

  • Authenticating test applcation in OAM is not working

Hello OAM experts, can you please help to figure out why my test application is not getting authenticated by OAM.
I have installed IDM for fusion application and SSO login is working for all admin consoles such as WLS, EM, OAM, OIM. I have deployed test application to OAM server itself to test the authentication of protected resources.
Host identifier is already there which was create while configuring my IDM for fusion applications. I created new application domain , created resource for /text/*, created authentication policy and used LDAPScheme for authentication, created authorization policy and defined constraints by adding a group OAMAdministrators ( just for testing purpose). I also added response in the authentication policy.
Then I have configured admin.conf of OHS server to redirect http://webhost1:7777/test to oam server host and port. It is getting redicted but not to the SSO login page. The URL still shows http://webhost1:7777/test and executes the test page and displays test application. It should have been redirected to SSO login page though OAM.
At this stage I have no clue what did I miss. As I said, when I login to wls console, it gets redicted to SSO login through OAM login page and then while accessing OIM, it directly takes me to OIM application since the user has privileges and also OAM page without logging in again.
But why my test application is not redirected to OAM authentication page ?
    Any help is grately appreciated.
    thanks
Edited by: Jyothi on May 3, 2012 3:25 AM

Hi, I am having the same issue. I am new to all this OAM stuff. I am using OAM 11g with a 11g Webgate configured. When I try to access the OAM Console the SSO setup does work and kicks-in and redirects me to the OAM server's integrated login page. But my test application that lives on an app server installed on a separate machine is never challenged for their credentials. As the documentation says I have CLIENT-CERT defined as the auth-method in my login-config inside my applications web.xml file.
I think I am not using the right providers. What I want is Identity Assertion and also OAM authentication (if Identity Assertion fails Authentication should kick-in and redirect to challenge login page). So I have an OAMIdentityAsserter and an OAMAUthenticator set-up in addition to the Default Weblogic Identity Asserter and Default Weblogic Authenticator.
I have tried everything but, the login redirect never happens. If I use the DefaultAuthenticator along with OAMAuthenticator (no OAMIdentityAsserter) and define BASIC in my login-config in web.xml then the Default Weblogic Authenticator pops up a dialog box which does let me enter credentials and when I do it does make the trip to the OAM server and works flawlessly. But I don't want basic authentication and I don't want a dialogue box to pop-up. I want the OAM server to redirect me to it's built-in login page just like it does for the OAMConsole itself which is being protected by the out of the box 10g IAMSuiteAgent Webgate. Which, as you know, comes pre-installed.
Please let me know your configuration and the providers you have set up and how you were able to make the OAM server challenge you for credentials when trying to access a protected resource/application.
    Thank You.

  • How to export sql table data to Excel/PDf using Storedprocedure?

    Hi ,
I have one table in sqlserver2008R2 that named "Customer" so that table hold the 1 Lac rows. Now I want send this table data to Excel/pdf with Columns using Storedprocedure.
I have tried this using xp_cmdshell so This is not working for me.
finally i want to get data in Excel and pdf also.
    Please guide me

You can actually run an Excel Macro to grab the data from the SQL Server DB.  Below are some samples.
    Sub ADOExcelSQLServer()
    ' Carl SQL Server Connection

    Dim rs As ADODB.Recordset
    Set rs = New ADODB.Recordset
    Server_Name = "Excel-PC\SQLEXPRESS" ' Enter your server name here
Database_Name = "Northwind" ' Enter your database name here
    User_ID = "" ' enter your user ID here
Password = "" ' Enter your password here
SQLStr = "SELECT * FROM dbo.Orders" ' Enter your SQL here
    Set Cn = New ADODB.Connection
    Cn.Open "Driver={SQL Server};Server=" & Server_Name & ";Database=" & Database_Name & _
    ";Uid=" & User_ID & ";Pwd=" & Password & ";"
    rs.Open SQLStr, Cn, adOpenStatic
    ' Dump to spreadsheet
With Worksheets("sheet1").Range("a1:z500") ' Enter your sheet name and range here
    .ClearContents
    .CopyFromRecordset rs
    End With
    ' Tidy up
    rs.Close
    Set rs = Nothing
    Cn.Close
    Set Cn = Nothing
    End Sub
    Sub ADOExcelSQLServer()
    Dim Cn As ADODB.Connection
    Dim Server_Name As String
    Dim Database_Name As String
    Dim User_ID As String
    Dim Password As String
    Dim SQLStr As String
    Dim rs As ADODB.Recordset
    Set rs = New ADODB.Recordset
    Server_Name = "LAPTOP\SQL_EXPRESS" ' Enter your server name here
Database_Name = "Northwind" ' Enter your database name here
    User_ID = "" ' enter your user ID here
Password = "" ' Enter your password here

    Sub TestMacro()
    ' Create a connection object.

    Dim strConn As String
'Use the SQL Server OLE DB Provider.
    strConn = "PROVIDER=SQLOLEDB;"
'Connect to the Pubs database on the local server.
    strConn = strConn & "DATA SOURCE=(local);INITIAL CATALOG=NORTHWIND.MDF;"
    'Use an integrated login.
    strConn = strConn & " INTEGRATED SECURITY=sspi;"
    'Now open the connection.
    cnPubs.Open strConn

    Dim rsPubs As ADODB.Recordset

    ' Tidy up
    .Close
    End With
    cnPubs.Close
    Set rsPubs = Nothing
    Set cnPubs = Nothing
    End Sub
Finally, you can run a SProc in SQL Server, from Excel, if you want the SProc to do the export.
