Integrating drop ship products with BC Ecommerce

I wanted to let the Business Catalyst community know about our new integration with the BC Ecommerce platform for automatically loading and updating products from most major drop ship distributors in North America (and some European based ones as well).
For anyone interested, ther dropshipper network from www.inventorysource.com is now fully integrated with BC Ecommerce using the web services API.  This means that anyone can have products automatically loaded to their site and updated every day with the inventory information from your distributor, allowing for automated drop shipping.
Currently there are approximately 87 distributors covering about 800,000+ unique products that you can choose from for adding to your current Ecommerce inventory.  If you already sell drop ship on your site, your supplier is probably already integrated and can be automated for you.
I welcome any questions related to Inventory Source and the integration with BC Ecommerce.  You can learn more at www.inventorysource.com.
Thanks!
Kelly

Hi ,
Is it possible to get example code you have used to integrate API. I am trying to do it using C# but I am unable to get the catalogue list or product list .
Any help will be highly appreciated .

  • Changes to Drop Ship Orders with configurations/star items

    Hi,
Can someone in this group clarify a few things with respect to changes to drop ship orders that has configured/star items. The CTO guide says that we cannot do configuration changes on the sales order, if the related PO is 'Approved'. There is a processing constraint that prevents it.
-->So can we cancel PO and the Purchase Requisition, then de-link the configured/star item on the sales order and then do configuration changes?
-->Assuming that the PO is NOT 'Approved', then we can do configuration changes on the sales order, so what happens to the PO. Does the PO get cancelled or the old configured/star item's PO line gets cancelled? The guide says it depends on the status of the PO. Its a bit ambiguous.
Can someone who has tested this function in R11i or R12 share their experience?
    Thanks,
    Nitin

The PO changes are not reflected automatically on the SO.
However, you can run the "Sales Order and Purchase Order Discrepancy Report" in Order Management. This report will at least give you the drop ship orders that don't match.
    Hope this answers your question

  • Drop ship warehouse shows in stock quantities for some items

We have a customer using SBO 2007 A SP 01 PL 08. The inventory posting report shows the drop ship warehouse with onhand balances. We have tried to create reversing entries to remove these quantities and the system ignores the transaction as it should. We are not sure how these balances got in the drop ship warehouse, but we need to get them out. Some quantities are negative amounts and some are positive amounts. What is the best way to remove these? They have zero inventory in the drop ship warehouse. This happened to six items out of 2600. Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

These six odd items must have something in common. You need log a support message for the matter. It is beyond forum capability.

  • Suggested Strategies for Freight in Drop Ship Environment

    Hello,
I am searching for suggestions on how to automate freight calculation and assignment to a sales order in a drop ship environment. Today the customer ships one type of item from a single supplier to the end customer. The supplier ships from one location. We have a solution today using an automatic modifier to apply the Freight Charge at order Booking. The modifier applies a different Freight Charge depending on the Ship Method (i.e. Ground versus expedited services).
In the near future they hope to leverage the benefits of drop shipping product in other product line offerings. There will be multiple products some of which will source from multiple vendors in different parts of the country. We may be able to leverage the solution described above, but it will become less appealing under the multiple vendor scenario.
I am interested in hearing any freight charge solutions in regards to drop ship scenarios and not just the one I described above.
Thanks for any thoughts or comments?

During GRN we cannot enter any value apart from the excise or customs duty, therefore the freight that you have incured at actuals cannot be captured during GRN and therefore cannot be transfered to the invoice also.
While creating invoice to the customer you can insert a freight condition type and enter the freight value manualy.
Generally in third party scenario we can only invoice the cust after purchase booking has taken place. In your case you want the cust invoice to be created based on grn, for that you have modify the copy control settings.

We are on Oracle EBS 11.5.10 and the requirement is that the US OU wants to drop ship a SO from our supplier in Japan(not part of Oracle installation) directly to our OU in Canada. However when I read metalink note 225434.1, this is not possible. This looks to be a drawback with Oracle EBS since it is a very common requirement with most business going global these days. However, I may be wrong and the flow might very well be supported. If anybody has an idea, and provide some insights if this is supported in oracle or if there is a workaround available it would be appreciated.
*****Update******** I could create a Drop Ship So with Receiving Warehouse in another operating unit; I could also create the Internal Requistion and PO in the shipping OU. Also, the Payables Invoices to Selling OU was created. AR invoice against the Drop SO billed to Shipping OU was created. However I am still stuck as to the generation of Intercompany AR invoice. Also, I am wondering why is there a need for Intercompany AR invoice when the AR invoice is issued against the Drop SO?

  • Has anyone successfully implemented a drop shipping eCommerce solution with MULTIPLE suppliers?

    Hi there
I have read a few BC forum articles on this subject, but none seem to have clarified whether a drop shipping eCommerce solution with MULTIPLE suppliers can truly be implemented successfully in BC.
In particluar, my concern is with splitting up ONE online order with products from MULTIPLE suppliers ... and split up the order into its individual supplier components and thereby calculate freight costs for each of the suppliers i.e. the freight cost should really be calculated for each of the suppliers SEPERATELY and not for the order as a whole.
Forum post http://forums.adobe.com/message/4881302#4881302 addresses this issue and Liam Dilley [as always] kindly responded. But his response indicates this is not possible with BC.
If this is the case, drop shipping in BC is quite useless unless:
    1. you had only one supplier
    2. or, you somehow restricted each order placed to products from only one supplier - which I am unsure is even possible even with JQuery
Any feedback from the community would be most appreciated.
    Regards
    Gavin

    You have two requirements:
    1. Once ordered, split the order into suppliers, contact the supplier of the product, give the information of the order to the customer. Supplier ships it. This could be done manually but a pain in the ***. I would assume you want it automated.
    2. When ordering, multiple products require mutliple shipping rates. As the shipping from location could be different for each product you can't just use the ship from one location option.
    Solutions:
    1. This is the easier one, you record the supplier in the product via a form or in the product item itself. If you wanted to automate here you could via API, if you wanted to do it manually you also could.
    2. Shipping calulator, to make things easier you would have to do everything by weight. Use Javascript to remove the default shipping option on the checkout page, pass all the items in the shopping cart. Use a lookup table function in Javascript "item name to weight" then have another function item to (from) shipping location. Work out the shipping and display it and force change with Javascript BC's shipping price (so the customer pays the correct amount).
Like Liam says, it's not something BC does too well at the moment and the above solution is more of a workaround but does work.

  • Integrate 'External non-SAP Purchasing Application' with SAP SD for third party purchasing/ drop shipping?

What is the best way to integrate 'External non-SAP Purchasing Application' with SAP SD for third party purchasing/ drop shipping?
    Details about expected process Flow.
Receive PO from customer into SAP > SAP SD creates Sales Order > ?? SAP Integrate with External non-SAP Purchasing Application to trigger purchasing > External non-SAP Purchasing Application creates PO, Ships Material to Customer Ship to address (drop ship), Sends Shipping confirmation (FCR) & Invoices to SAP> ??Receive FCR and Invoice in SAP > ?? Initiate SAP Accounts Payable (Vendor Payments) and Accounts Receivable (Customer Invoice) > ?? Update SAP SD Sales Order with shipping status>
    Questions we need to answer;
      - How to achieve '??' steps from above process.
      - What type of Master Data we will need to configure (Say Materials Item Category, Type etc.)
      - Any standards options to configure SAP SD (Type of Sales Order)
      - We certainly don’t want to trigger SAP MM Purchasing (i.e. PR, PO etc.). How can we bypass it.
      - How to make statistical receipts against sales order line items so that SO status will be updated.
      - How to receive Invoice and FCR from External non-SAP app to trigger AP and AR transactions.
      - Are there any SAP standard configurations/ BAPIs/ BADIs available to achieve this integration.
Any inputs on above questions are appreciable.
    Anand.

This question is resolved. We ended up activating purchasing module and used purchasing documents PR/ PO to integrate with third party purchasing system.
    Anand.

  • Third Party Drop ship and availability check against Product Allocations.

    Dear All -
We are facing a situation where we need to create a third party drop ship Sales Order with an item category which still reaches out to APO and confirms against the product allocation quantities. This is not supported by standard SAP.
Has anyone come across such a requirement and how has it been handled. I would really appreciate any suggestions.
    Regards
    Mandar

    Vladimir,
I want the drop ship in which when you create SO, before selecting the vendor, system should perform availability check for plants. If material is not available in the plants ( nearest plant) then system should select the vendor who will ship the material to customer directly.

  • Edit back to back sales and purchase order with dropped ship warehouse

    Hi
Our Client request to be able to edit back to back sales and purchase order with Drop Shipped WH which is frequently required according to their business nature in overseas trading.
    Kedalene Chong

    Hi Daniel,
In the PO Ship To address field, the database/company address will appear until a warehouse is selected. Once a WH is selected, that is the address that will appear. If there is no WH address, the company address is indicated in the field (note: no company name just the address).
If you want a different address/name, you can type it into the ShipTo address field and the PLD template will use whatever is in the field.
If it is because there is no company name on the PO - does this mean you want a different company name than the one in the PO header. If this is the case and the ShipTo address & company name is always the same, you can update the PLD template by changing the ST address field to Text and enter the company name & address you want on the PO. This will appear on every PO regardless of what is in SAP. If you want the company name to always be the same, add a text field above the ST address field and fill in the company name; the address will be pulled from the PO Logistics ST field (per the first paragraph above).
If this is not what you want, please explain in more detail what you would like to do.

  • Third Party Drop Ship with Auto PO Generation

    Hi All -
I am using a third party drop ship process and I would like the PO to be automatically generated by the system.
I have changed the configuration on the TAS item category and checked 'Create PO Automatically'.  I went to OVX5 and maintained the Purchasing Org, Plant, Purchasing group, and order type for my Sales Org.
When I create a sales order with a material with a TAS item category.  The purchase requisition gets created but the PO does not.  Am I missing something in set up?
    Please help
    Thanks
    J

Auto Po will not generates in third party sales, only PR will get generated based on PR we have to create PO in ME21N.
pls search in forum will get many threads on this

  • Ship Quick Drop Object Shortcuts with LabVIEW

In my daily work, I'd guess that over 90% of the time I drop something with Quick Drop, I use an object shortcut name ('cs' for Case Structure, 'rn' for Property Node, etc.):
You can configure object shortcuts by clicking the Configure button in the Quick Drop window. I've often suggested that people download and use my Quick Drop Palette Object Shortcuts for Right-Handed Developers to be able to drop most objects without ever having to move the left hand from the keyboard and the right hand from the mouse.
But in order for you to benefit from having object shortcuts, you either need to (1) create your own or (2) download mine from the link above. Neither of these options are particularly discoverable, nor do they make it easy to get started with the feature.
I propose that NI start shipping a pre-defined set of Quick Drop object shortcuts with LabVIEW so that everybody can have access to them from the start.

  • Integrating an existing application/product with SAP

    Hi,
I am looking for information on how to integrate an existing application/product with SAP.
The current product is built on a client/server architecture.  The server side components are all built using JAVA; while the client components are built in C++/MFC.  The client application makes RMI calls to Java server methods and objects.
The product also has an SDK/API.
We are currently receiving requests to integrate the product with SAP from multiple customers.
Our plan is to build an SAP connector as an add-on/plug-in to our product, that can be provided to our customers who are on SAP.
Would be glad if I can get some information and direction on this.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Thats really interesting.. You can do onething just write some Java or C++ program which wil convert the data from native(Existing application) to XML format and vice versa.. you can achive integration with SAP using XI. I think this would be the simplest way to do it and more standard way.
    Thanks,

  • Drop shipping with serial

    Hi,
we have deliver good via drop ship. Now it is the case, that the goods will sent back to us
and we have to check by serial, that this was the good the supplier has delivered before.
In the standard scenario it isn't possible to collect serialnumbers in a statistical GR or in a delivery note.
How can I solve that problem?
    Regards Ralf

    Hi Ralf,
check whether MMSL procedure is assigned in the serial number profile used, also ensure that for MMSL profile the serial number usage is 03 (Obligatory). if your configuration satisfies the above 2 points, then your statistical GR would ask from serial number (provided this serial number profile is assigned in the material you are using in 3rd party order).
