Integration mode  of IKM

Hi,
While reading Integration mode of IKM from this link(below):-
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17904_01/integrate.1111/e12643/projects.htm
I find
Append: Insert records from the flow into the target. It is possible to optionally delete all records from the target before the insert. Existing records are not updated.
Control Append: Same as above, but in addition the data flow is checked_ in the process.
1)My First question is what type of checking is done here(By IKM)???
2)And my second question is what type of checking is done by CKM also???
Please answer
Thanks
Anindya

1.) IKM Doesnt do any checking
2.) CKM does all the checkings. Whatever constraints have been defined on target datastores, CKM will validate against those.
The beauty of using a CKM is that you dont even need to have those constraints defined on the DB level. They can simply live inside ODI.

  • Report Builder 3.0 launch issue in SharePoint Integration mode

    Hello,
    I'm facing issue when opening the report builder 3.0 tool. Report server is configured in SharePoint Integration mode. I already have the FQDN configured for report server and in SharePoint (AAM) but still it fails when the end user is trying to access
    the report builder 3.0.
    Just to brief on the instance setup;
    SQL box setup
    1. Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard/Enterprise edition with latest service packs and updates
    2. SQL Server 2008 R2 Enterprise edition with all features except Reporting Services installed and configured
    3. SQL Engine and Agent are configured in service account (domain account)
    Web box Setup
    1. Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard/Enterprise edition with latest service packs and updates
    2. IIS enabled with all the features
    3. SharePoint Foundation 2010 with SP2 installed in advanced mode and the database server is mentioned as above
    4. Farm is configured with domain account (farm account)
    5. Default site is configured with domain account (site account)
    6. Authentication used for default site is NT domain accounts
    7. AAM is setup for default site to use the FQDN (server.domain.com)
    8. SQL reporting services is installed (only) with service account (same account used which is configured in the SQL engine and agent in database server)
    9. Reporting Services add-in for SharePoint Foundation 2010 is installed
    10. Reporting Services is configured to use the FQDN, email settings is configured
    11. SharePoint Foundation 2010 is configured to use the Reporting Services (General Application Settings) by granting the access to database, integration the report server URL with windows authentication (used the SQL reporting services service account)
    12. Report Web services when clicked, open the Reporting Services window properly where it shows the SharePoint default site URL and on click shows the proper folders configured for use for reporting services
    13. Report Builder launch URL is specified as /_vti_bin/ReportBuilder/ReportBuilder_3_0_0).application
    14. IIS restart done, SQL Reporting Services restart done, even web server reboot done
    15. When supplied the URL in browser as
    http://server.domain.com/_vti_bin/ReportBuilder/ReportBuilder_3_0_0).application it start the clickonce window but after this immediately throws the error message as below.
    16. Also, I tried to open the Report Builder 1.0
    http://server.domain.com/_vti_bin/ReportBuilder/ReportBuilder.application it fails with same error message.
    17. After debugging several times, I am unable to resolve the issue.
    18. I tried re-installing the Reporting Services (first uninstalled, then reboot, then folder cleanup, then install Reporting Services) but no hopes and the issues remains same as "The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error."
    19. Also, I tried with the fresh machine, wiped out the VM, installed OS, IIS, SharePoint Foundation 2010, SQL Reporting Services, etc. again no luck, the issue remains same as "The remote server returned an error: (500) Internal Server Error."

  • SSRS Integrated mode failes (timeout) when executing lengthy reports.

    Hi All,
    I have SSRS 2008 R2 running in integrated mode with SharePoint 2010 foundation.  The SharePoint farm and SSRS are both configured for Kerberos authentication.  Both SSRS and SharePoint are working well.  The vast majority of reports
    compile in less than 30 seconds, users are generally happy.
    Except,  I have a couple of reports which take a long time to execute on the SQL side, I cant change this, that's just how it has to be.  The simplest of the reports to explain is a report, with 1 parameter with four values, which performs
    up to four actions on the SQL Server and then returns around two dozen rows of the result, typically the entire process completes in around 10 minutes.  If I run this report via the ssrs /reportserver WFE the report always completes, results are presented
    on screen, no issues whatsoever.  When I run the same report from within SharePoint, its a different story, the report will complete only if I select just one of the four parameter actions, resulting in the total report execution time of
    around 4 minutes,  However when running the report with all four parameters selected, the loading spinner appears, then after 6 minutes, disappears entirely.  The page returns to the parameter selection, no results are presented.
    Having checked all the SSRS log files and ExecutionLogStorage table, they suggest that the report carries on building in the background, and then completed roughly 10 minutes after starting.
    So my conclusion is that something in SharePoint does not like the extended duration of the report execution.  But what is it,  What triggers the 6 minute timeout?
    Any help much appreciated.
    Regards
    Dan

    Hi danbridgland,
    According to your description, there are a couple of reports in SSRS Sharepoint integrated mode. The query takes a long time to execute in SQL Server. When you run the report via Sharepoint WFE, the report works fine. When you run the report in Sharepoint
    Application, the report will be displayed if you select one parameter value, if four values of the parameters are selected, the report disappears after 6 minutes’ loading.
    In Native mode, SSRS uses a default timeout of 9000 seconds. In SharePoint integrated mode the timeout is reduced to 120 seconds. The timeout in SharePoint is actually related to the fact that reports are rendered using the http runtime. Any operation that
    is launched from within SharePoint using the httpRuntime object has to complete within the timeout parameters. In this case, we can directly editing timeout in web.config by following steps:
    Locate web.config for the SharePoint site you have configured for SSRS integration (default location: C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wss\VirtualDirectories\80).
    Open the file in an XML or text editor.
    Navigate to httpRuntime element, inside the tag, add executionTimeout="9000".
    In addition, in SharePoint integrated mode, reports typically run slower than when the same reports run in native mode. One main cause of this latency can be attributed to SharePoint object model calls that are made. For detail information, please refer
    to the following document:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2216504
    If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

  • SSRS integrated mode in SharePoint 2013

    SSRS integrated mode was working now when i click on SSRS service application it gives internal server error 503. In ULS log i see
    System.Net.WebException: The remote server returned an error: (503) Server Unavailable.
     at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse()
     at System.ServiceModel.Channels.HttpChannelFactory`1.HttpRequestChannel.HttpChannelRequest.WaitForReply(TimeSpan timeout)
    How to fix it? I recreted Service application and started and stopped service too but nothing seems to be working. How to re-install it completely by removing all the services from the Server?
    Also how to switch mode from integrated to native since our end users might decide to go to native if integrated does not meet their business need. I do not see any article to switch from integrated to native mode.
    It is really frustrating to keep fighting with this issue.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Adit

    Make sure the Application Pool driving the SSRS SA is online. Check the System Event Log and Application Event Log on the SSRS server.
    You cannot move between Native and Integrated any longer. You need to just re-deploy SSRS in the native config with a new SSRS database.

  • Cannot run HP QTP 11 in integrated mode with Solution Manager 7.1

    Hi,
    I have setup qtp to work with solution manager 7.1. QTP works in standalone mode with no issues. as soon as I try and use it in integrated, i.e. launch qtp from solution manager, the message "failed to start external test tools quicktest professional" displays. When I click the back button the message "error during method call in OLE API" displays.
    Using qtp in integrated mode worked previously on the solution manager 7.1 system.  Since the solution manager 7.1 system was moved to a new datacenter it stopped working. I am not sure if this could have had an impact.
    I have tested qtp with several different solution manager boxes and it works perfectly in integrated mode. please advise what server side settings i need to consider to solve the issue.
    Sincerely,
    David

    ~~ Mark it as Answer if you find it correct~~

    Hi Sandeep,
    Thanks for your feedback.
    I haven’t find any documentation illustrate this limitation, it’s just my experience,  I have a report which contains a muti-value parameter, it contains 500 value items and the length of each value is equal or greate than 10 characters, when I select
    all parameter values, there is no response when I click the apply button, however, when I only select several items in it, the report showing fine, I could not sure your issue is the same with mine, it’s just my conclusion. If your issure is not related to
    the length of the selected parameter, just occures to certain users even they selected with the same parameter values with the other users who run fine with this report, then this reply should not adapt to your scencario, it is so unbeliveable it is not working
    only for certains users, I have not experience this issue before, and the information you provided is so limited that I could not address the root cause of your issue.

  • SQL Server Reporting Services SharePoint Integrated mode - Power View is not supported

    Hi there,
    My environment is the following:
    SharePoint Server 2013
    SQL Server 2012 SP1 Enterprise edition
    I am getting the following message when trying to open BISM item with PowerView icon:
    "The feature: "Power View" is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services."
    My problem is that the first time I installed SQL Server Reporting Services SharePoint integrated, I used the SQL Server 2012 Standard edition ISO. But then I learned that Power View is only available with Enterprise and BI editions. So I uninstalled Reporting
    Services Add-in from Control Panel, Reporting Services from the installation media and deleted the three Reporting DBs in the SharePoint DB server.
    Then I used SQL Server 2012 SP1 Enterprise media to install again Reporting Services but not sure why I am still getting the message:
    "The feature: "Power View" is not supported in this edition of Reporting Services."
    Anyone can advice me what could be the problem? Maybe I have not complete deleted  the previous SQL Server Reporting Service Share Point integrated mode from the previous installation? What would be the proper way to uninstall Reporting Services?
    Any help will be welcome.
    Thanks and best regards,
    Joss

    Hi  Joss,
    I am in the same situation,
    SQL Server was installed in the standard mode because of that the powerview option is not working.
    I have changed teh edition using maintenance --> upgrade edition. the sql server components like DB engine, SSAS and integration services are now showing in enterprise edition. The reporting services are installed from the application end still showing
    as the reporting services are standard.
    we reinstalled the reporting services but still persists the issue.
    suggest me is there any work around to fix the issue other than reinstalled the whole SQL Server.
    Thanks

  • Reporting Service Integration mode and Key not valid for use in specified state

    I had to uninstall SharePoint Foundation 2013 and reinstall it.
    What I have done:
    I uninstalled SharePoint and after that I removed all databases.
    I reinstalled SharePoint Foundation 2013 and it completed without errors.
    Everything else is working, except SSRS in Sharepoint Integrated Mode.
    If I check Central Administration - Manage services on server, I can found out that SQL Server Reporting Service Service is
    "Started". But if I try to create new service application (SQL Server Reporting Services Service Application), it gives me an error message:
    "Key not valid for use in specified state. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8009000B)"
    I uninstalled SSRS in Sharepoint Integrated Mode and I reinstalled it but problems exists.
    It seems that "Encryption Keys" cause this problem.
    https://support.microsoft.com/kb/955757
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms156010%28v=sql.110%29.aspx
    I tried to Re-create Encryption Keys and Delete keys, but its not working either. It gives me only error message that:
    "Unable to locate the Reporting Server Windows service for instance MSSQLSERVER."
    I don't have any reporting server databases, because I removed all
    databases when I uninstalled SharePoint. Also I don't have Encryption

    Any ideas how I can fix this problem?

    Hi,
    From the Reporting Server Configuration Manager you have to restore the encryption key.
    Please try to delete databases(reportserver & reportservertempdb) and delete the reportserver and reports site on IIS. Then you have to start over the configuration again.
    If the issue still exists, Please check ULS log to see if anything unexpected occurred.
    For SharePoint 2013, by default, ULS log locates in
    "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS"

    Hi Sorin,
    SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services (SSRS) includes stand-alone and ClickOnce versions of Report Builder. The ClickOnce version can be used with Reporting Services installed in native or SharePoint integrated mode. For more information about how to start

  • Adding a custom rendering extension to SQL Server Reporting Services 2012 for SharePoint 2010 integrated mode

    We are attempting to add OfficeWriter report rendering extensions for SSRS 2012 in SharePoint (2010) integrated mode through powershell. The documentation for “New-SPRSExtension” is rather
    sparse and we have not found any clear examples on the internet. With SSRS 2012 in native mode, we make the following two changes to the config files:
    We add the following report rendering extension declaration to
    RSReportServer.config:
    <Configuration>
        <Extensions>
            <Render>
                <Extension Name="XLTemplate" Type="SoftArtisans.OfficeWriter.ReportingServices.ExcelTemplateRenderer,
    SoftArtisans.OfficeWriter.RS2008"/>
                <Extension Name="WordTemplate" Type="SoftArtisans.OfficeWriter.ReportingServices.WordTemplateRenderer,
    SoftArtisans.OfficeWriter.RS2008"/>
            </Render>
        </Extensions>
    </Configuration>
    We add the following security trust codegroup to
    RSSvrPolicy.config:
    <configuration>
        <mscorlib>
            <security>
                <policy>

    What would be the equivalent syntax for “New-SPRSExtension” to do the above for SSRS 2012 in SharePoint (2010) integrated mode?
    Alison Bird SoftArtisans Technical Services www.softartisans.com

    Hi Alison,
    Unlike the deployment of other custom extensions such as custom delivery extension and data processing extension, it is not necessary to add a code group for the custom assembly that grants FullTrust permission for the extension during the deployment of
    custom rendering extension. If you have copy the custom assembly to the %ProgramFiles%\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS11.<InstanceName>\Reporting Services\ReportServer\Bin folder, and modify the RSreportserver.config file to add the extention entry properly,
    please open the SSRS Service Application created on the SharePoint and verify that your extension is included in the list of available export types for a report.

  • AD security group issues in SharePoint 2013 Integrated Mode

    Hello,
    Sorry if this is the wrong forum, I'm not sure if this is a SharePoint issue or a Reporting Services configuration issue (or if it should be in a SharePoint forum regardless).
    I have SSRS2012 on SharePoint 2013 in integrated mode. We are doing item level permissions, which means we have an AD security group Reports-All with
    Read to the Reports document library, then each actual report has unique permissions. We have a report with the ProjectManagers AD
    security group on it with Read (plus some other stuff to let them manage subscriptions), and another AD security group ProjectUsers with
    just Read access so they can open the reports. The data source used by this report has the AD security group I mentioned before, Reports-All,
    with Read.
    At a SharePoint level, things appear to work. When a user in ProjectManagers or ProjectUsers browses
    to the library, they see only the 3 reports that those two security groups have permission to see (out of a lot more in the library). That means SharePoint is reading those security group memberships correctly as far as I can tell.
    The issue is when a user in ProjectManagers or ProjectUsers clicks
    on a report, they get a reporting server based error message, and the ULS logs have an error specific to the user trying to run the report.
    Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.AccessDeniedException: The permissions granted to user 'MyDomain\MyUser' are insufficient for performing this operation. (Fault Detail is equal to Microsoft.ReportingServices.ServiceContract.RsExceptionInfo)
    If I add that specific user with Read permissions to the report and the data source, they are then able to run the report without errors. It seems like some Report Server component is not liking the fact that I'm using security groups.
    Has anyone seen this behavior with AD security groups? Any ideas on why my environment does not want to work properly with those even though AD security groups are working fine for other non-Reporting Services files?
    Thanks,
    Aaron

    Hi aaronzott,
    According to your description, you configured SSRS 2012 of SharePoint integrated mode. You added read permission to reports and data source to AD security group Reports-All, then added just read permission to ProjectManagers and ProjectUsers groups. When
    users in ProjectManagers or ProjectUsers groups click report, the error message occurred. After you added Read permissions to the report and the data source to the groups, they can preview the report without errors.
    Report definition permissions are defined through List permissions on the library that contains the report, but we can set permissions on individual reports if we want to restrict access. Set properties on a report including data source connection information,
    processing options, and parameter properties. Edit Items on the library that contains the report or on the individual report. We also need to have view permissions on a shared data source (.rsds) to select it for use with the report.
    For more information about Set Permissions for Report Server Operations in a SharePoint Web Application, please refer to the following document:

  • RDL Reports are not working after installing SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 2 in the SharePoint integration Mode

    I am using Reporting Service Integration mode with SharePoint. SSRS is installed on separated machine of SharePoint stacks in Integration Mode. Everything was working properly and I could create/edit/modify RDL reports(parameters, Datasource, Subscription)
    inside SharePoint and Document Libraries.
    But after installing SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 2, on opening RDL reports inside SharePoint I receive this error message.
    The permissions granted to user 'i:0#.f|membership|username' are insufficient for performing this operation. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.AccessDeniedException: The permissions granted to user 'i:0#.f|membership|username' are insufficient for performing this operation
    I should mention that SSRS is installed in the SharePoint integration Mode and there is no SSRS management console.

    Hi Hedayat-Abedijoo,
    According to your description, you are using Reporting Services in SharePoint Integrated mode, and everything worked fine before you install SQL Server 2012 Service Pack 2. After the package is installed, when you open RDL reports, the error occurred: The
    permissions granted to user 'i:0#.f|membership|username' are insufficient for performing this operation.
    According to my search, there may be two reasons for the problem:
    This is caused when the application pool account that runs the SharePoint Web application you are on in IIS and the application pool account that SharePoint believes is running the site differ. This happens if the application pool account is changed directly
    in IIS instead of through SharePoint (using the approved method).
    This error can be caused when Kerberos authentication has been set up correctly and delegation in a double hop scenario will succeed, but Reporting Services integration has been set up for Trusted Account rather than Windows Authentication. This causes
    SharePoint to continue to impersonate the logged-on user when contacting Reporting Services; when Reporting Services compares the application pool account to the user account making the request, they are not equal.
    In this case, we can solve the problem by changing the application pool account in IIS back to the previous account and set AuthenticationTypes to RSWindowsNTLM only. For detail information, please refer to 8.3 “The permissions granted to user 'Domain\User'
    are insufficient for performing this operation” in the document:http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee384252(SQL.100).aspx

  • Dropdown list is cut off in reporting service (SharePoint Integration Mode)

    We have a report running in SharePoint integration mode and we have a set of parameters. But the last parameter (near the bottom of the browser) with drop down list cannot be displayed completely.
    Kevin Li

    Hi KevinLi,
    According to your description, the last parameter in your parameter drop down list is not completed displayed. Right?
    In Reporting Services, when having too many available values which will exceed the report parameter drop down list area, it suppose to generate scrolling bar for selecting. In this scenario, it seems those available values just end at the bottom of
    the browser and exceed a little bit. But it can't trigger generating scrolling bar. However, it think you can select the last value successfully. So it doesn't effect your using too much. If you really need to display all values in parameter drop
    down list, you can try to change the resolution of your screen.
    If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

    Simon Hou
