Integration of Oracle 9iAS Email with Portal-URGENT!!!!

Hi all,
Is it possible to integrate Oracle 9iAS Email component with Oracle Portal so that we can do away with the need for installing Exchange Portlets?Can neone throw more light in this regard.

9iAS comes with an Email Server, if that is what you are asking.
You could always write an IMAP portlet, which allows you to read/send mail.

  • Oracle 9iAS Rel.2 Portal

    I have successfully installed the Oracle 9iAS Infrastructure and portal in release 2 of 9iAS
    I have got the different Oracle homes for the J2EE, Infrastructure, and Portal also.
    Can any one please tell me How should I run the Oracle Portal on my machine.
    Step by Step solution is heartly desired.
    Thanks and Regards

    Hi Bijesh,
    We are coming out with a portal sizing document shortly on portalcenter (portalcenter.oracle.com). Meanwhile, ideally, for a production enviornment, you should be having Oracle9iAS infrastructure and Oracle9iAS on different machines. This configuration is more scaleable.
    Thanks,

  • Integration of Oracle BI Publisher with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterp

    Hi,
    I have started the tutorial " Integration of Oracle BI Publisher with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterp" today but got stuck at the very first step.
    The tutorial shows that I can see "SH" and "CountryManagers" in the shared folder but I only see the Paint Demo rpd.
    I previously completed the "Creating a Repository Using the Oracle Business Intelligence Administration Tool " tutorial.
    Do I need to learn anything prior to this tutorial .
    I already have the default rpd as SH in NQSConfig.ini
    Please suggest.
    Thanks

    Nico,
    That didnt help.
    I already have the
    Star = SH.rpd, default; set
    I have tried restarting OC4J and Oracle BI Server.
    Is there someplace where we need to put the rpd so that it appears in the shared folders.
    Even if the Paint Demo rpd is seen, when I try to view the reports I get the following errors:

  • Integration of Oracle BI Publisher with OBIEE 11G

    Hi, all.
    I want to know How to Integration of Oracle BI Publisher with OBIEE 11G?
    Because I can't create data set using Oracle BI Analysis now, and the analyses and dashboards in BIEE presentation catalog is unvisible. Why?
    Thank you.

    I may be missing something, but BI Publisher Enterprise is installed at the same time as when you install BIEE on the server. You wouldn't install BI Publisher Desktop on that server. You can use BI Publisher Desktop locally to create templates for use in BI Publisher Enterprise.
    I'm much more familiar with XML (BI) Publisher as part of Oracle Apps moreso than BIEE, so I could be wrong in my assessment.
    Hope that helps,
    Brett

  • Real time Integration between Oracle i-Procurement with MUMPS based System

    Folks,
    Has anybody worked on integrating Oracle Applications with any Legacy System? I'm interested in discussing real time integration between Oracle i-Procurement and Legacy System. Can 9iAS Advanced Queue be used to accomplish this?
    If anybody has any information on this topic please reply back or email me at [email protected]
    Regards,
    J Ali

    Yes, we have experience with the product Oracle9iAS InterConnect. Adapters are provided to integrate with iProcurement and legacy systems. If your legacy system is non-standard either partners might already have adapters or you can use the adapter development kit to build your own specialized adapter. Check out: http://otn.oracle.com/products/integration/index.html
    and I would suggest to contact your Oracle account manager to get a detailed product demonstration and references.

  • Integration of Oracle Financials (OF) with Oracle Retail (OR)

    Hi ,
    We are currently doing a integration of Oracle Financials with Oracle Retail.
    We have deployed BPEL processes for this. The Bpel process which transfers set of books from Oracle Financials is SendGLCCToRetek.
    The problem is that the process is not transferring set of books id from Financials to Retail.
    Any pointers on how what could be the reason. Is there any other BPEL process which should be deployed ?
    Other deployed Bpel proceses are working as expected
    Best regards,
    brinda

    The integration of set of books between Financials and Retail (through AIA) is not incorporated, it needs to be manually setup in Retail.
    Ex: The Ledger ID's in EBS Financials or PSFT Financials, needs to be manually created as Set of Books in Retail (FIF_GL_SETUP table)

    I got one package but i m not able to use that for sending attachment , normal mails are working fine . Here is that link
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/pl_sql/htdocs/Utl_Smtp_Sample.html
    Can anybody help me on this ……………. L

    Kalesh,
    As a start you can check out the mail merge app at http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=18326:44:::::P44_ID:1682. It won't work with pdf's. As for sending email attachments google on demo_mail that gives you a base package that will send attachments. You can call it as follows...
    create or replace procedure pdf_mail(
    p_sender varchar2, -- sender, example: 'Me '
    p_recipients varchar2, -- recipients, example: 'Someone '
    p_subject varchar2, -- subject
    p_text varchar2, -- text
    p_filename varchar2, -- name of pdf file
    p_blob blob -- physcial pdf file
    ) is
    conn utl_smtp.connection;
    i number;
    len number;
    BEGIN
    conn := mail_pkg.begin_mail(
    sender => p_sender,
    recipients => p_recipients,
    subject => p_subject,
    mime_type => mail_pkg.MULTIPART_MIME_TYPE);
    mail_pkg.begin_attachment(
    conn => conn,
    mime_type => 'application/pdf',
    inline => TRUE,
    filename => p_filename,
    transfer_enc => 'base64');
    -- split the Base64 encoded attachment into multiple lines
    i := 1;
    len := DBMS_LOB.getLength(p_blob);
    WHILE (i < len) LOOP
    IF(i + mail_pkg.MAX_BASE64_LINE_WIDTH < len)THEN
    UTL_SMTP.Write_Raw_Data (conn,
    UTL_ENCODE.Base64_Encode(
    DBMS_LOB.Substr(p_blob, mail_pkg.MAX_BASE64_LINE_WIDTH, i)));
    ELSE
    UTL_SMTP.Write_Raw_Data (conn,
    UTL_ENCODE.Base64_Encode(
    DBMS_LOB.Substr(p_blob, (len - i)+1,i)));
    END IF;
    UTL_SMTP.Write_Data(conn, UTL_TCP.CRLF);
    i := i + mail_pkg.MAX_BASE64_LINE_WIDTH;
    END LOOP;
    mail_pkg.end_attachment(conn => conn);
    mail_pkg.attach_text(
    conn => conn,
    data => p_text,
    mime_type => 'text/html');
    mail_pkg.end_mail( conn => conn );
    END;

  • Integration of oracle datawarehouse to enterprise portal

    Hi,
    is it possible to connect/integrate an oracle datawarehouse to the enterprise portal? Has someone made this or has a reference of a client/company which made this integration?
    Thanks,
    Best regards,
    Christine

    Hello again,
    Yes its very much possible. You will have to create a RFC / BAPI what ever you call it. And import it into  WD Java project.
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/a00f7103-6790-2a10-ac9c-fcac7c5b18a3
    Follow the link above it has an exmple.
    Thanks,

  • Integration of Oracle field service with GPS

    Hi,
    Is Oracle field service 11.5.9 integrated with GPS (Global Positioning System)?
    If 'No' any work around?
    Thanks,
    Rizwan

    Hi,
    Field Service Dispatch Center has Map feature using which a Dispatcher can get a GIS map display of the assigned work, along with the Plan Board and Gantt chart views.
    Mobile Field Service Wireless for PDAs has the ability to get driving directions (with a map display) between the assigned tasks. Further, a Field Service Technician can receive directions between any two addresses.
    Hope this helps.

  • Oracle 9ias Reports within Portal

    We have published several Oracle Reports to Portal by configuring Reports 9ias Reports Services and then by registering the Reports Server and Reports Definition Files within portal, this works as expected.
    However, several of our Oracle reports point to another oracle database server, when these are run from within portal an exception is raised (REP-1202: ORACLE logon not specified). I can only assume that this is because the Oracle Reports run from within Portal are unable to connect to the external data source. Our existing portal reports connect work OK using a db link. Does anybody know a way to overcome this problem? We were thinking about Single Sign On or do we have to modify the portal PL-SQL package to provide a connection string for each Oracle Report?
    Cheers
    Dan

    How did you try to connect to the remote DB?
    Create a TNS entry on the node where your reports server runs, and specify it in the "userid" parameter: scott/tiger@myRemoteDB.

  • Integrating R/3 Content Repository with Portal KM Repository

    Hi All,
    I have a scenario where I need to integrate Content Server of R/3 system along with corresponding KM of Portal.
    I have created a Web Dynpro for ABAP application which picks up a file from user machine and archives it on ABAP Content Server. It returns Document Archive ID, using which we can access this archived file.
    Now I want to access this data from KM of Portal too. Can I create a link on KM pointing  to this Content Server?
    What I mean by this is that I should be access same document from KM too.
    I hope I have posted this question in correct forum.
    Please share your valuable ideas on this.
    Thanks and regards,
    Amey Mogare

    Check  Business package of DMS Connector, you can download it from SAP Service Market Place and you'll have to install it on to Portal Server. Once successfully installed you will find DMSRM in Repository Managers. There you need to create repository and also maintain System to Access R/3 from Portal.
    Finally as per the variant created in SAP R/3 DMS CV04N you'll able to see the folders and DMS Documents.
