Interactive document problem

Hi,
A client want an interactice document which he can mail to his clients. Witch sliding pictures. How do I make this? Because I cant get it working as interactive PDF. It needs to work on different platfoms and mobile deviceso an ipad, pc or macbook
Who can help me?
BT i Use CS5.5 with all the latetst updates.

Not on an iPad it won’t.
In short, the OP’s client is living in a dream world. Until PDF readers get a lot better this just isn’t happening in one file.
At some point it’s all going to be HTML5/CSS3

Interactive document exported as swf navigation problems

I created an interactive document, exported as a swf file. Each page has an animation build, text fade in, images slide in etc. When I navigate to the next page, it displays the completed build, reloads and plays the animated build. When I navigate to the next page it does the same thing again. I want to be able to navigate to a page and view the animation from the beginning not see the completed animation first. Any ideas what could be the problem?

It´s a bug. Start your animation from outside of the page area or if you have to start it from some visible place, create a mask that covers your animation´s starting point. Then use a timing panel to start your animation by fading the mask away, then proceed to the actual animation. If you have white background in your page, mask can be a simple white rectangle.

How to create a button in a interactive document and use the button to launch and external "exe." file.

I created an interactive document and will export as a swf. I would like to create a button in the interactive document to launch and external "exe." file. Is this possible.

You will need to create custom web part editor. Look at the following example. It also have added button and its events. I am sure you can use this sample as base and code your logic.

Interactive PDF problems

I'm making an interactive PDF document in Indesign.
I'm adding buttons which go to anchors I've put on different pages within the document. At first it all works fine but then when I export it to PDF maybe one of the links on the buttons is wrong, so I change it, but then that upsets the other buttons and their links mess up and link to the wrong page, when they were working fine a few minutes ago. So I redo them and they work ok and then some other ones mess up, this keeps happening. I've checked on Indesign and the buttons and anchors are correct, but when I export it they go wrong. The document is about 40 pages long and I have about 80 buttons/anchors. Any ideas?

we are running InDesign CS5 7.0

Everything seemed to work here and I'm presuming he was running an earlier version?

Links in Interactive Document

Hi All,
I created an interactive document in InDesign CS5 that I exported as a .swf and inserted it into a html based webpage. I would like the buttons I created with url actions to open the url in the same broswer window and not in a new broswer window. Is this possible in ID CS5 and if not how can I get it done.

Interactive Document (PDF) where the video works on iPad

Has anyone been able to use video in an InDesign interactive document (CS5.5) that works on the iPad? I tried using the mp4 format but it still doesn't play on the iPad (it doesn't even show up in the document). I'd love to be able to create a document that works on the iPad too.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Honestly, I don’t do a lot of interactive PDF work and this is one of the reasons. I feel the same way about EPUB.
Way too many variables and quite frankly not enough money in it (for me) to justify it.
End of Rant.
On the Mac, are you trying to view it in the Mac’s Preview app? If so, switch to Acrobat or Reader.

Exporting interactive document to PDF

Hi, I just exported my interactive document (CS5) to PDF (interactive) and ticked include all buttons and media. When the PDF opened no behaviours worked and the PDF was much bigger in pixels then it was made in Indesign. any help appreciated. thanks.

Bob is correct. That's the way the iBooks app displays EPUB files. PDF files are not displayed that way in iBooks or any PDF reader.

Need to create interactive document library

I need to create interactive document library in sharepoint 2013. When user uploads document, he should be able to write comment below that document and other users should be able to reply or post other document as well.
Is it possible to achieve this kind of feature in sharepoint?

Enable the "SharePoint Server Standard Site Collection features"

ABAP interactive report problem

ABAP - Interactive Report problem.
In Interactive report when I double click to one field a window arises (here sy-lsind = 0) displaying some required info. And again after double clicking the appeared window another window will open (here sy-lsind = 1). from the 2nd window I can't go to the previous window.
If there is only one way to go to the previous window is to activate the RIGHT UPPER CROSS OPTION of the particular window, then please help me giving the code or idea about how to activate it. Thanks.

Problems merging multiple interactive documents into one - InDesign CS5, OS X 10.6.5

We have two people working on different pages of what will ultimately be one interactive InDesign project for placing on a website. When moving the pages(s) from one document into another (move pages command), all the items in the timing panel get reordered and all the linkage data is lost. Is there a fix for this? What is the best way to import pages into another document? Thanks.

I don't think the interactivity features in CS5 are robust enough to expect that timing commands would remain intact in such a move (this is a "version one" feature, and this was probably not part of the spec). I'd move your pages together first, then work on the subtleties of timing animations.

Interactive documents in InDesign - problems with .swf and previews

I have just been experimenting with InDesign new interactive docs features exporting to .swf.
The first doc comtaine a few simple animations and exported to .swf. Lovely! All performing as advertised.
The next document I make, again with just a couple of simple animations, fails. I am unable to view a preview of the animation and I get an error warning triangle at the bottom of the preview palette (without explanation). I am unable to export to .swf.
And when I go back and open up my first document I am unable to preview that either.
Does anyone know what's going on here?

Have you tried resetting InDesign preferences?
Launch InDesign and as you launch it on the keyboard hold down Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Win) or Shift+Option+Command+Control (Mac) and wait for the delete prefs dialog to appear.
Also try isolating the preview issue by selecting individual interactive objects and setting the preview mode to 'selection' only, so that you can check if the issue is related to a particular object on the page.

Preview and a PDF document problem-suggestions please

The above is a sample of a pdf document which views fine in adobe reader, but in Preview appears to have issues with text lines and pictures interacting. One cuts out the other (or fades it). Can anyone who has know how take a look and tell me what I can recommend to the author to fix this issue so Preview works like AR? Thanks in advance for anyone who has this kind of tech knowledge.

I took a look at it and see the same weirdness. Superficially it looks fine, but if you take a close look at the ends of some, but by no means all, the printed lines that abut graphics files while also printing over an underlying graphic, parts of the words have disappeared. What's odd is you can double click a messed up word, select copy, and the whole word appears on the clip board. I seem to remember Preview having some problems with certain kinds of transparency effects that work fine in Acrobat. That may be the case here.

InDesign CS6 interactive pdf problem

Hi, I've created an interactive pdf using InDesign CS6; document contains text fields and radio buttons. When exported the radio buttons flicker when you hover over them or click to make a selelction. Does anyone know how to prevent this? Many thanks

I have a hunch it could be an Acrobat/Reader limitation.
Set up a part of the form without the radio buttons but just use circles. Export a PDF and open in Acrobat. Use Acrobat's Form Field Recognition to turn the circles into radio buttons (or use Acrobat's form feature to create radio buttons with the same value).
I doubt it's InDesign that's the problem.

Multiple buttons blocking each other out on interactive document

Hi I'm looking for some help with what may be a simple problem that I just can't figure out.
I have a one page indesign cs5 document which has about 10 text frames on ten different layers all converted to buttons. I have set up a menu using show and hide buttons, hid the buttons until triggered, and all of this works fine but the problem is that some of the text boxes block out the others when I export it to an interactive pdf. I orginally had all of these boxes on the same layer and when I encountered the problem I created a new layer for each new text box but the problem still exists.
The odd thing is that I have some pictures on different layers but in the same location on the page and they show up fine.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

In few words : "It turns out that there is a bug in InDesign that affects the stacking order in interactive PDFs. The stacking order is determined by the order in which the buttons are created. Buttons created first go at the bottom of the stacking order in the PDF. I compare it to a stack of paper: a sheet of paper put down first goes at the bottom of the pile. Then, each subsequent piece is stacked on top of it.
So the moral of the story is that if your stacking order is incorrect in an interactive PDF, remake your buttons, in the order opposite of how they should appear in the final PDF."

I have a problem in interactive report, I copied a interactive list report program and I pasted in the new program. when I double click on first list display, it is not taking to the second list display whereas it is working fine in the old program which I copied.
