Interactive Form/File Approval Callable Object - %PDF- error

I have a GP which send out an Adobe Form via E-mail and waits for a response.
When the form is returned, I want to render the Adobe form from the UWL as part of the task.
I understand that the Process Control - Interactive Form/File Approval Callable object can be used for this.
However, when I try to open the task I get an error message saying the File does not start with %PDF-
Looking at the process context in the NWA, I do see the PDF binary content at that step.
Any ideas?

Thanks a lot Greg for the response.
If the output of an interactive form includes a structure called 'Interactive Form' with the attributes you mentioned, that will serve my purpose.
However, I am not seeing these fields any where in the default output of MY interactivev forms. Do I have to do something explicitly to see it in the output.

GP Process is Running even though Callable Object Encountered Error

I am experiencing an interesting issue working with GP right now and it bothers me.
I have created a process that includes a sequential block with a few actions including an action that sends out an Adobe form. I noticed during testing that even if the callable objects encountered technical exception (found in the logs), the process itself is not marked as erroneous. This bothers me because I'd like to see the process marked as erroneous if the callable object has errors.
Has any one experienced this? Is this the "expected" behaviour? I am on SP18 ... is this fixed in a later support package stack?

Is it possible top render an Adobe Interactive form as HTML instead of PDF?

Currently a form developed as an Adobe interactive form is presented to the user as a PDF document (this is somewhat obvious!!!!)
If, for whatever reason, we are unable to use Adobe reader on the front end PC is there a way to configure ADS to render the form as HTML and not PDF??? (In our case its because of a bug that requires the installation of Adobe 8 and this will take require extensive testing and roll out...)

Please tell me is there a restriction on size of PDF file?
I am reprinting invoices(RSNAST00) and then download these invoices to 1 big PDF file. When tried to open this PDF file with Adobe reader- I get error "damaged file and not able to repair". . My program works fine for
reprint 1 invoice and download to 1 pdf. But client wants multiple invoices into
1 BIG PDF file. HELP!! thanks for your reply in advance.

GP Background callable object. Error while making a Callable object

The problem was resolved after retrying many times. Code was checked again and redeployed. Server restarted as well. GP objects deleted and steps repeated. It worked in the end.

Converting multiple files into a one PDF:Error

I have a .net app which converts multiple pdf files to one big PDF using postscript. For few PDFs while combining I get this error message. What is this means? How to fix it?

I suppose you use some fairly recent version of Ghostscript, and the PDF in question uses a CID font which is not embedded.
Therefore the interpreter looks for a substitution font and does not find a suitable one.
See the Ghostscript documentation (file "use.htm") for handling CID fonts. Among other items, it states:
Please note that when a PDF font resource specifies
/Registry (Adobe) /Ordering (Identity)
there is no way to determine the language properly. If the CID font file is not embedded, the Adobe-Identity record depends on the document and a correct record isn't possible when a document refers to multiple Far East languages. In the latter case add individual records for specific CID font names used in the document.
Probably aou need to edit the file cidfmap by hand to define a suitable substitution font (as you didn't tell what system you are using, I cannot tell the
correct path where the said file will reside).

BPS Flat file load ABAP objects migration error.

We are trying to load a flat file via the SAP-GUI and BPS and everything works well in DEV based on the HOw-TO guide. When trying to move the ABAP objects to QA, we get a migration error on the type /1sem/_yth_data_260ZBYAPEPL. Of course the 260ZBYAPEP is relevant to our configuration and in QA we do have the equivalent structure /1sem/_yth_data_614ZBYAPEPL.
How come the type in DEV does not translate to the equivalent type in QA just like any objects we transport to QA?

the element /1sem/_yth_data_260ZBYAPEPL has to be changed according to the QA manually only. Sytem can't change the clent no. automaticaaly when u transport to the QA.
so in /1sem/_yth_data_260ZBYAPEPL replce 260 with ur QA Client no.

There should be default entry like
127.0.0.1 localhost.
Make an entry below that with your ip address and the hostname. Reward some points pls.

I myself fixed it by creating an entry in the hosts file. Location: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts.

Date Format Issue with Interactive Form

Hi, here is the scenario:
-We just upgraded to SP17 from SP15
-I'm using Livecycle Designer 8.0
When we were on SP15, this was not an issue. I was wondering if anyone encountered this problem and if so, if there is a workaround?
I create an interactive form to start a guided procedure process. Im passing the data from my desktop Interactive form to another callable object in GP to send an email with the PDF attached. This all works correclty.
My date/time fields are set to type DATE with a display pattern of YYYY-MM-DD. When I create the form in the GP administrator to my desktop and open the PDF, the date format is correct. However, when I submit the form to start the process, the incomming date fields to be mapped to my second Callable Object have change in format from "2009-02-18" to "Wed Feb 18 00:00:00 EST 2009".
This is true in the new form I receive via email, and also in NWA->monitoring->guided procedures when I check the instances. The input mapping is already set to the false formatting.
When I open the form from the second callable object with the incorrect date format (in designer), the date's display patterns are set to YYYY-MM-DD but are not being displayed as such.
New discovery....I tried to create a Business Logic callable object and format the date. I created a string input and date output and mapped them accordingly. When I perform a "TEST" from the design time and use the input "Wed Feb 18 00:00:00 EST 2009", the string is automatically converted to 18/02/2009 in the output, which is what I want to occur. The only problem is when I run the actual process, the same "Wed Feb 18 00:00:00 EST 2009" is being output instead of the 18/02/2009 in the TEST.
Anyone have any ideas?

Open the j2ee engine web page and go to web service navigator --
http://<servername>:<port>/wsnavigator.
there should be a ADS webservice there. you should be able to execute it successfully. if it is not present then it means ADS service is not installed on your server.

Hi Raja,
Try if the SOAP call to your ADS works properly first. You can test it by running the URL to your ADS (the one you specified in the Web Service Security service in the Visual Admin) in your web browser. One thing you need to make sure is that the username/password you use to access the ADS must not be expried and no password changed is required.

Adobe Interactive Form is not working - Specify Stream Source

Hi Experts:
I am having an issue, where the system I am on is SAP ERP Central Component 5.0 (ECC5.0). There is no Layout Tab to define ZCI or xACF in transaction SFP. I'm not sure if this is relevant, except that, I cannot get my custom Interactive form to work.
All PDF tests in SAP are passing, but being on ECC5.0, I do not have the following programs (among many others):
FP_CHECK_DESTINATION_SERVICE
FP_CHECK_HTTP_DATA_TRANSFER
When I call my Adobe Interactive Form and set sfpdocparams-fillable = 'X' I get an error:
Error creating PDF Document -PDF Exception: Stream does not represent a PDF document.
I have applied the Usage Rights credential properly and my form displays read-only when sfpdocparams-fillable = BLANK. While in transaction SFP, I can see that my interactivity works when displaying the form through the Preview PDF tab.
Also, I know that my credential works because when I test form ISR_FORM_SPEG, I do have interactivity.
In parsing through the ADS log file of my custom AIF, I noticed the following:
 Parse template node
 Template:
 Source = Stream
 Name = TEMPLATE
But I believe it should be something like:
 Parse template node
 Template:
 Source = URL
 Name = dest:FP_ICF_DATA_<My_System_ID>//sap/bc/fp/form/layout/<My_Form_Name>.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can change the source of my stream?

Hi Sean
In the Visual Admin of the server that runs the ADS check under server->services->destinations click on http folder. There should be something under that called FP_ICF_DATA_<sid of backend>. If there is not then create one in there.

Hi,
it is so simple..
1) Create AdobeInteractiveForm UI element in your screen.
2) Create pdf_source for pdf source attribute to bind it should be byte data.
3) Create node for data Source. (The data which you want to place on the pdf form)
4) right click on interactive form UI element & edit
5) PDF editor will be open.
6) drag the required data fields from data source to the form.
7) place submit button on the form.
Finally there are two kinds of interactive modes
1) native mode (it runs on firefox browser)
2) active X mode (it runs on Internet Explorer 6)
Please use appropriate submit button on the form (i.e. native/ActiveX submit button)

What kind of data types in Web Dynpro can be bound to Interactive Form?

Apparently it is not possible to bind a Web Dynpro Context variable of type boolean to a checkbox in an interactive form. We get the PDF Document Render Exception until the data type is changed to string, then the generation seems to work. Does anyone know what data types in Web Dynpro other than String can be bound to an Interactive Form Document? Is there any information about this in help.sap.com/adobeforums.com/elsewhere? I have researched a bit, but couldn't get a general statement on this topic.

Hi,
You can Bind the Boolean type of webdynpro to the CheckBox in Adobe Interactive Form.
Just define the value Attribute in the Context of type Boolean and bind the Checkbox in Aif with this attribute.
Sample Code:
