Interactive Forms - "Overdue or Erroneous Processes"

Hi,
I created an interactive form which starts a process upon submission. It is starting a process (I am receiving a success message from on the PDF form) but the process is falling into "Overdue or Erroneous Processes" category. I checked the logs to see if any exception is being thrown but found none. Why the process is falling into erroneous processes category? How can I find more information about this?
Thanks
Ram

Hi,
I assume that you have not set any due date which points to the past so the most likely explanation would be that the process transitions into an "error" state because a background step fails.
Of course, this is only possible if the first step is in fact executed by a background callable object.
To check this, you can also examine the process instance using the NetWeaver Administrator (NWA). To do so, enter http://<server>:<port>/nwa. The monitoring tool for GP can be found in "System Administration" -> "Monitoring" -> "Guided Procedures".
To select your process instance, choose a the tab "Process Instances". There you can filter for erroneous instances and it will be most easy to specify the user under which you have posted the form as the initator. You should then be able to examine your process instance and to see at which step exactly the process is hanging.
Kind regards,
Frank Schertel

  • Standalone interactive Form-- initiate the GP process.

    Dear Experts,
    I am trying to initiate a GP process from a standalone offline interactive form on the click of a submit button.I have a few doubts:
    1.It is documented that the standlone forms maintain a user session.How can i access the user information from the session?For e.g if i want to know the user ID of the person who submitted the form , how can i do that?I want to map the user submitting the form to the initiator of the process using some background object.
    2. Also there's a requirement that default roles be assigned to all the processors of the actions.Can we override this somehow?
    I'll appreciate any help.
    Thanks,

    You can select the option "Override Default Roles at runtime" in the Role or Built-in Roles  Tab (I dont remember where that option is ), that should help you deal with your second point.

    I managed to sort the issue.
    It is not related to the ADS configuration.
    I had to assign all the default roles of process to the user /role.
    Thanks a lot for reply.

  • Interactive Form for HCM Processes & Forms: Custom Event not firing ?

    ECC6
    EP7
    Adobe Reader: 8.1.2
    I am currently developing several Adobe interactive forms as part of an HCM Processes and Forms process. I have started to try to utilize custom form events. Following the documentation, I defined a custom event on the backend...lets say "USER_EVENT_S1". I assigned it a field group of fields and gave it the operation for "check". On the form side, I defined a pushbutton and changed it's "mousedown" FormCalc code to:
    //Set ISR_EVENT for BAdI processing in backend
    $record.CONTROL_PARAM.ISR_EVENT = "USER_EVENT_S1"
    I then activated the form and went to test it. When clicking the button tied to this event, it does absolutly nothing. I have external breakpoints set on the backend to my custom service that should fire for those fields that are part of the field group. The breakpoints trigger correctly as the form itself loads and hits the "initialize" and "F4 value help" methods. However, it is not doing anything when I press the assigned button to trigger my own user event.
    Any help ?!?!? I see only one implementation from SAP in their standard content and their own user event is not even implemented in the form! (form scenario S_HRPA_DE_REHIRE_1). That's not very reassuring or helpful. haha

    I figured it out this morning. It seems I was using the wrong (older?) button control.
    The one that did NOT work had the following for the "click" event....
    //Trigger call to backend for BAdI user command processing
    app.eval("event.target.SAPSubmit();");
    However, the one that DOES work has this:
    //Trigger call to backend for BAdI user command processing
    ContainerFoundation_JS.SendMessageToContainer(event.target, "submit", "", "", "", "");
    Both are called an "ISR_FormEventButton" however, I guess mine was from an older "library". Anyways...works great now! Back to development....
    (points to the reply for trying to help at least! Thanks!)

  • Drop down lists in Interactive forms:HCM Forms&Processes

    Hi Experts,
    I am working in HCM Forms and Process.
    I have 2 dropdown lists in my  interactive form such as COUNTRY, STATE. The STATE dropdown should be populated based on the COUNTRY field dynamically.
    I have written the logic for STATE dropdown in the method GET_STATES of  Custom Generic Service Implementation Class and that method is used in the OPERATION of FIELDGROUP in Form Scenario.
    The Java Script in the EXIT event for COUNTRY is as follows.
    xfa.record.CONTROL_PARAM.ISR_EVENT.VALUE = u201CGET_STATES";
    app.eval(u201Cevent.target.SAPSubmit();u201D);
    Still the the STATE lists is not populating in the form in Portal.
    Please provide some valuable inputs on this.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Mukesh,
    Thanks for your response.
    It seems the script is not triggering .I didnt get the alert message.
    I am working in Citrix and SAP GUI 710 has been installed now. Still, I can't insert Webdynpro Script. It is showing one error "Error while inserting Webdynpro script".
    Earlier, in SAP GUI 640, I was able to see with the Data view with the interface import parameters. Now  the Data view(Left side of Layout)  has no elements , although the form is linked with an Abap dictionary based interface.
    Do you have any idea why these kind of errors are coming? Is this the problem with Citrix ?

  • License cost involved in HCM Process and Forms for Adobe Interactive Forms

    Hello All,
    We are planning to implement HRAS business package and use HCM Process and Forms.
    There are lots of developments involved and before to start with, i would like to understand is their any license cost involved for using  Adobe Interactive Forms and also if we are doing new enhancements to the forms.
    Also send me some links about the license involvement if any ?

  • Process data of none bound fields in Adobe Interactive Form (stack 13)

    I use a Adobe interactive form (made in Designer 7.0)which is a combination of fields bound to Web Dynpro Context fields and fields which has no binding at all (in Designer: Default binding = Normal). The Adobe Document Services on the J2ee server is of stack 13.
    When I save the Adobe Form (off-line scenario)from the Web Dynpro Application, only fields bounded to the Web Dynpro Context are saved in the Form on my local file system(no warning that data isn't saved).
    When I open the Form for off-line editing, I can change bounded fields and none bounded fields. But when I save and re-open the form, the data in the none bounded fields is lost.
    I used the same scenario in a stack 11 j2ee/portal system, but then all data (bounded or not) in the form was saved!
    Could anyone explain the difference, but better tell me how to save both kind of fields in the off-line form (and bounding all fields is <u>not</u> a solution).
    Thanks in advance,
    Richard

    Hi,
    Check your ADS settings, I feel it's due to lack of some config in ADS only.

  • Sending Offline Interactive Form Via Email

    Hi,
    I am running NW 2004s SPS09 and trying to configure GP to use offline adobe interactive forms.  As of now, I am able to create a callable object from an Adobe template, prefill fields from other background execution/web service callable objects, and launch a process when the form is submitted via email.  I am having trouble routing the form to the next processor through email.  I created an interactive form callable object, checked 'Enable Use In Guided Procedures' and selected 'Create Offline Interactive Form And Send By E-Mail'.  My first thought was that there was some delay in the sending of emails, but callable objects in other processes that send plain text notifications work fine.  The process does not enter an erroneous state and waits at that action.  Looking at the GP monitor under NW administration, the correct processor is set for the action, but the task does not appear in the user's UWL or GP runtime center (I figure this is because the task is meant to be completed offline).  Any suggestions would be much appreciated.  Thanks!
    ~Greg

    Turned out the 'switchToNewMailCommunication' property for the GP service was set to true when it should have been false.

  • ADOBE Interactive Form not getting displayed in Browse

    Hi,
    Currently I am working on EhP4 project on ECC 6.0 environment. For HCM, We have interactive ADOBE forms for MSS. While testing we found that all buttons are displayed in a browser (we are are window 7 IE 8 ) but interactive form is not getting displayed in the browser (Fill out Form as part of MSS).  It only displays a line
    Checked ADS configuration as per oss note and works ok. Did HTTPWATCH - browser is getting (GET) the Adobe forms with values but not displaying it. If I copy URL from HTTPWATCH GET line in a separate browser window it displays the form.
    Thanks in advance your help.
    Regards
    Jitendra Pongurlekar

    Hey Chris (and others),
    We were having this same problem, and this Note fixed the issue (thanks!).  However, we are still experiencing another issue with HCM Processes and Forms under EhP4.  Before this Note, it took about ten minutes before "single line display" would show up.  Now after the Note, we get the full form, but it still takes ten solid minutes of waiting before it appears in the window.  We're pretty sure it's not a Portal issue, nor an ADS issue, but something with the web dynpros on the ABAP side.  However, we have not yet been able to resolve it.  Anyone else run into this performance problem with HCMP&F after upgrading to EhP4?  We don't have the problem with EhP3.
    Best regards,
    Matt

  • Questions About Interactive Forms

    I have a project that reqires an application and background check authorization. I want to have these forms on my website as an interactive form that can be opened by a potential applicant, filled out on their computer and submitted back to me. I want to receive the completed application back in PDF form filled out and with a signature.
    What do I need with my website and background apps to make this happen. Do I need some type of server application to make this happen.
    Next, what are the accepted ways of having a document/application signed by an applicant and delivered to me digitally.
    Thanks

    George
    Thanks for the quick reply. If it's an e-mail would I receive the actual
    form used or just the content the applicant input. I would want the actual
    document with a signature. If storing on my server would it be the document
    and input if so that would be a better option so I could download and print
    out if needed.
    A digital signature field I would trust would be the way to go for us.
    Here's a synopsis of my needs.
    I am hiring guys to play the role of Santa and make phone calls to children
    at Christmas and I need a multi-part  application so I can have background
    checks run so I have an extensive multi-page application and contract plus
    background check authorization already designed in PDF form but this last
    year we had to e-mail it and wait for US Postal delivery of the completed
    application and I want a streamlined online way to handle the application
    and hiring process because I will have 75 - 100+ possible applicants this
    year.

  • Sending an email, containing an adobe interactive form, as a step in a gp

    I'm trying to create a process in gp.
    the first step is an interactive form that is submitted to netweaver and starts the gp process.
    second should be another interactive form that the system sends out to an email account.
    wstarting the process by interactive form is not a problem, but sending out emails seems impossible to me :-P...
    i tried by myself, but couldn't work anything out.
    then i searched for a while in the sdn and found the following article by ginger gatling:
    Guided Procedures:  Passing email address for Interactive Form step
    it doesnt help either. dunno what version of netWeaver she was using, but at least in version 7.0 it's not working like she describes. also it's not possible to insert an email adress via predefining the appropriate field in the attributes tab.
    i would be very glad if someone could provide me a hint to solve this problem.

    This is the way how to send the form through mail.
    Generate and Send the Form
    The next step is to write the ABAP program which will create the form and email it to the vendor so that it can be filled offline.
    The program will have the following steps:
    u2022 Data retrieval and processing : A select statement for the pre-populated information
    u2022 Obtain the name of the Generated Function Module of the form
    u2022 Start the form processing
    u2022 Call the Generated Function Module
    u2022 End form processing
    u2022 Send the form to the vendor using Business communication services (BCS)
    Data Retrieval and Processing
    This can be as simple as a select statement to complex data selection. In this example we select the vendor number, name and company code from the vendor table LFA1 based on the vendor from the selection screen
    Get vendor data
    select single lifnr name1 bukrs from lfa1 into wa_vndbnk where lifnr = p_lifnr.
    Get the Generated Function Module
    The next step is to get the generated function module. Call function module FP_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME and pass the form name to it. The parameter e_funcname will contain the name of the generated function module name.
    First get name of the generated function module
    call function 'FP_FUNCTION_MODULE_NAME'
    exporting
    i_name = 'ZVK_TESTHD'
    importing
    e_funcname = fm_name.
    Start the Form Processing
    Form printing needs to be explicitly opened and closed. Use the function FP_JOB_OPEN to open the form for printing. The parameter ie_outputparams determines printer settings. This parameter is also where we ask the generated function module to return a PDF file back. Since this is an offline scenario and there is no printing involved we need to suppress the printer dialog popup as well. Optionally there is a parameter connection which can be used to determine the RFC destination for ADS.
    Set output parameters and open spool job
    fp_outputparams-nodialog = 'X'. " suppress printer dialog popup
    fp_outputparams-GETPDF = 'X'. " launch print preview
    call function 'FP_JOB_OPEN'
    changing
    ie_outputparams = fp_outputparams
    exceptions
    cancel = 1
    usage_error = 2
    system_error = 3
    internal_error = 4
    others = 5.
    Call the Generated Function Module
    This is similar to the generated function module in Smart Forms. Since the parameters of the function module are defined in the interface, this will vary from form to form. However, /1bcdwb/docparams is a standard parameter. This is used to set the forms locale. This is also where we tell the form that it is fillable. Once this parameter is set - if the ADS is configured correctly (including the credential) - a fillable savable form will be returned when the function module is executed.
    Set form language and country (->form locale)
    fp_docparams-langu = 'E'.
    fp_docparams-country = 'US'.
    fp_docparams-FILLABLE = 'X'.
    Now call the generated function module
    call function fm_name
    exporting
    /1bcdwb/docparams = fp_docparams
    Z_VNDBNK = wa_vndbnk
    importing
    /1BCDWB/FORMOUTPUT = fp_formoutput
    exceptions
    usage_error = 1
    system_error = 2
    internal_error = 3
    others = 4.
    End Form Processing
    Use the function FP_JOB_CLOSE to close the form for printing.
    Close spool job
    call function 'FP_JOB_CLOSE'
    exceptions
    usage_error = 1
    system_error = 2
    internal_error = 3
    others = 4.
    Send the Form to the Vendor
    The PDF file generated is available in the parameter fp_result which is returned by the generated function module. The next step would be to extract this PDF and send it to the vendor using BCS.
    CALL FUNCTION 'SCMS_XSTRING_TO_BINARY'
    EXPORTING
    buffer = fp_formoutput-PDF "PDF file from function module
    TABLES
    binary_tab = lt_att_content_hex.

  • How can user attach file to interactive form, and be read by abap program?

    Hello,
    I created an abap interactive form, sent to the user, then user fills out the form fields, then it is uploaded back to sap, then my program reads this data and process it.
    It works.
    Now I want users to be able to attach any file they want, and the abap program to extract this file out of the PDF, to put it into SAP (or anywhere).
    I succeeded in attaching a file, I can "see" it via function module get_annotations, but I get the file in compressed form by Adobe (filter="FlateDecode").
    Do you know how to unzip the file, or is there another way to attach files in adobe reader/extract them via abap?
    I use acrobat reader 8.1.2
    Thx a lot!
    sandra
    Below is the xml obtained by GET_ANNOTATIONS. We see that there are other text annotations, and that the attached file has {length="98005"}, though real file (before "attach file" to the PDF, and also after "detach file") has length 111 995 bytes. It's why I deduced that there is a compression (I also tried to extract it as-is and open it with adobe but it doesn't work.

    Hello everybody,
    I am sure you have an answer to my question above. It was :
    how is it possible for a user to ATTACH files to a PDF interactive form, and then be able to READ them via a program ? (I guess the solution to read them via ABAP or JAVA is quite the same?)
    Thx a lot !

  • Interactive forms takes too long to load - sometimes crashes reader.

    Hi Gurus,
    I'm just wondering if anyone have this problem?
    I just configured ADS and created a sample WD program to display an interactive form, the form is not complex, only 2 text fields and an image.
    But when I deploy or run the program, the interactive form container hangs and take very long to process before displaying.
    After I save the PDF file to a local drive, when I try to open it, it will take very long and sometimes crash my system.
    Even when I click on "PDF Preview" to view the form in NWDS it take very long too.
    At first I thought it could be due to my system and I open downloaded PDF file on other PCs, but the problem occurs too in those PCs.
    Using Acrobat Reader 8.1.2, then downgraded to 8.1.1, still no avail.
    Everytime I open the PDF or WD loads the PDF, when I check the Task Manager the process of AcroRdr32 will hog the system processes and use up the memory. I have no problems with other PDF files, only those generated by the WD application gives problems.
    Someone hit the same problem? Any advise? Could it be the ACF or Adobe lifecycle issues?
    Please help. Thanks for all answers.
    Best Regards,
    Jansen

    Hi Jansen,
    If you are using Adobe Reader 8.1.* or above and activex controls in your form, you need to install the latest version of ACF and that will resolve the issue. And do remember to uninstall your old version of Adobe Reader first and then install Reader 8.1.* freshly and after installing it proceed with ACF installation. You have to follow the sequence.
    For ACF installation you may read  Note 766191 - Active Component Framework Installation.

  • F4 help for a single field in interactive form

    Hi Experts,
    I am working in HRAS process.I created a Form Scenario and an Adobe Form.  I linked my interactive form in portal using standard Start Processes iView . Now I have to create a value help(F4 help) for 'STATE' field based on 'COUNTRY' field value in adobe form.  I filled the Input value Help in the corresponding Form Scenario field. But in portal the adobe form shows the field as a single field only.
    How I can I attach the manual F4 help to 'COUNTRY' field?
    The how to  vary the F4 help values in 'STATE'  fied based on 'COUNTRY'  field?
    Do I need to code  in Java script for this?
    Please provide some inputs with code sample
    Thanks in advance,

    Lek,
