Interactive report custom GO-Button (-process)

hello,
is there a way to customize the behavior of the IR Go-Button? I'd like it to make a dynamic IR by using collections build depending on the values of two other fields on the page. everything works fine when using an extra button but I want the Go-Button to call my PageProcess or to execute a PL/SQL block before starting the query.
any ideas?
BR, paul

I used following workaround:
I created an empty region with
+<iframe id="reportFrame" src="f?p=&APP_ID.:25:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.::P25_QUERY:N" width="100%" height="800" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" frameborder="0"></iframe>+
in the region source.
In the page's HTML header i put following javascript function which is called onchange by my two fields and loads the page including the corresponding IR:
+<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
function f_select_IR(pCode1, pCode2) {
if (pCode1 == '' && pCode2== '') {
document.all.reportFrame.setAttribute("src", "f?p=&APP_ID.:X0:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.::PX0_QUERY:N", 0);
} else if (pCode1!= '' && pCode2== '') {
document.all.reportFrame.setAttribute("src", "f?p=&APP_ID.:X1:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.::PX1_CODE1:"+pCode1, 0);
} else if (pCode2!= '' && pCode1== '') {
document.all.reportFrame.setAttribute("src", "f?p=&APP_ID.:X2:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.::PX2_CODE2:"+pCode2, 0);
} else if (pCode1!= '' && pCode2!= '') {
document.all.reportFrame.setAttribute("src", "f?p=&APP_ID.:X3:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.::PX3_CODE1,PX3_CODE2:"+pCode1+","+pCode2, 0);
//-->
</script>+

  • Button on Interactive Report to fire a process using JavaScript

    I have a requirement to trigger a process from a button on an interactive report. One of the report columns has the triggering data allowed to make the process fire. The requirement is that the button says different things based on the value from another column in report.
    My button is an html button that when the process is allowed to run, is enabled and fires a javascript function. When the process is not allowed to run for the row where the button is placed, the button changes text, color and is disabled.
    The switching of the HTML button is working properly. The problem is that I am not able to grab the column value from the report to submit with the onclick() event.
    As best I can tell, there is not unique id tag on the report columns and the best that I am able to do is to apply one class to the button and another class to the column that contains the value that needs to be submitted on my onclick() event.
    I have considered using a link column that does a submit to a URL passing in the desired value but I would lose control of the appearance of my button.
    Does anyone have a suggestion?
    Thanks

    In debugging while clicking on back button for first time, I found that after 'Leave to screen 0' statement debugger goes to double click event of screen 100 and start processing from a statment written immediately after 'Call screen 200' statement.
    Yes, that's right. The processing will be continued from next stamtement after CALL SCREEN 200. But after the PAI will finish it shoud go to NEXT SCREEN which is 0.
    If that doens't work you can try leaving the screen 100 explicitly as well.
       CALL SCREEN 200.
       LEAVE TO SCREEN 0.  "the processing will terminate screen 100 as well
    Try it out.

  • Clearing Interactive Report, custom authentication problem

    I have written my own custom authentication for my apex app. It calls a custom function in the db that looks in a table for user/password. It works fine. Login works and when I save sort order for standard reports, they are saved between sessions.
    However, for my interactive report the sort orders on my Interactive reports are being reset each time the user gets a new session id.
    I'm not sure why this is happening. Any suggestions or ideas on why this happens when I don't use 'user cookies' (standard apex login)?

  • Interactive Reports - Add Item/Button to the right of the Search Bar.

    Is there any way to put a button to the right of the Search Bar on an Interactive Report?
    Thanks,
    Dave

    Hi,
    Yes, if your button is not among region items.
    Go edit button and change Button Position to "Right of interactive report search bar" from select list

  • Interactive Reports Action Menu buttons not working

    We are running Apex 4.02 and using theme 11 (round green). We recently upgraded to IE 10 (on windows server 2008 R2) and are now experiencing issues with all interactive reports within Apex. The Action menu is displayed correctly and the options are available but the buttons to apply the changes do not seem to respond.
    For example, I can press the Action button then select Format->Sort from the actions menu. The sort by options are displayed but nothing happens when I press the Cancel or Apply buttons. There is no error - it looks like the button press is not executing the code.
    I have searched for issues specifically related to Apex but have only been able to find references to general problems with IE 10 and Ajax calls. I'm not sure whether IRs are using Ajax as part of it's core functionality and whether this is the behaviour we are seeing.
    I'm keen to understand whether others have encountered this problem and resolved the issue somehow. Any help would be very much appreciated.

    I would have set this up somewhat differently.  I'd have all of your buttons set to pause the slide in exactly the same spot about 1.5 seconds into the slide.  To set the variable for completion of a section I would have used a standard or conditional action that was executed by the button that brings the learner back to the menu slide.  This action would set the variable and then jump back to the menu slide using the button's On Success action.  You need one of these actions per separate section in your project.
    As to why some of your buttons are not working at all...
    1. They may not be set up correctly.  Check all settings again.
    2. The buttons may be corrupted.  Delete the ones that don't work and insert new ones.  Avoid copying and pasting.
    As luck would have it, I've just completed an e-book Guide to Adobe Captivate Advanced Actions that has an entire series of practice exercises that take you step by step through creating exactly the menu slide setup that you describe.  If this project is important enough to you, it may be worth your while to consider purchasing that e-book:

  • Interactive report - Function returning SQL query

    i notice that it is not possible to create an interactive report based on a function call. can anyone shed any light on why this is?
    also, is there a work around possible? i really dont want to store my SQL query inside a page in the application

    Craig,
    I tried the collection workaround as well but noticed that it gets incredible slow when data sets grow bigger. Depending on what you need maybe my solution is of help for you:
    I used multiple subpages with interactive reports, an iframe and a javascript function setting the iframe-src on the main page, see my last post on

  • Placing buttons in a region displaying an Interactive Report

    Hi,
    I have a page on which I am displaying an interactive report.I would like to place buttons on this region where the report is displayed-
    - The first button right of the search bar of the interactive report
    - The second button right of the first button.
    - The third (exactly ) below the second button (still right of the search bar)
    I am aware that if this where an HTML region,then I would have had the flexibility to place the third button in a new line without a problem,but can I achieve this in a region displaying an interactive report?
    Is there any way to do this?
    Regards,
    Priya Jetley

    Create the buttons as region buttons in the IR region, with the following properties:
    Button Position: Right of Interactive Report Search Bar
    Button Alignment: Left Right
    Enter *style="display: block; float: right;"* in the Button Attributes of the third button.

  • Select List beside Interactive report

    Hi All,
    I am not able to place a SELECT LIST item beside an Interactive Report.
    What is happening:
    <selecting columns to search> Go Action SELECT LIST*
    I n t e r a c t i v e  R e p o r t
    Even though I am able to place a button beside the Interactive Report using the Button Position attribute for the button.
    <selecting columns to search> Go Action Button
    I n t e r a c t i v e  R e p o r t
    Sadly there is no such attribute for a SELECT LIST.
    What I want:
    |<selecting columns to search> Go Action SELECT LIST
    I n t e r a c t i v e  R e p o r t
    I tried using the Grid Layout Attributes but to no avail.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    I do not know is that possible without styles or JavaScript.
    You can try this.
    Place to page JavaScript Execute when Page Loads
    $("#apexir_TOOLBAR").append($("#Px_YOUR_SELECT_LIST"));Change Px_YOUR_SELECT_LIST to your select list name

  • Process message not showing in Interactive Report

    I created a process (on subit after validations) in a interactive report that is run from a button in my region. The process inserts records into the database. The process runs fine and inserts the data, but I do not get any message when its done. I have a message set in the process 'Process Success Message' section. Am i missing something?

    Bob,
    Is the message in the success region static text or are you trying to display something like "55 rows updated"?
    I implemented a dynamic message for a custom process and had to define my own page item to hold the text value (e.g. P2_INSERT_SUCCESS). Then my PL/SQL anonymous block process computed a value for the item:
    :P2_INSERT_SUCCESS := insert_cnt || ' rows added.';Then I referenced it in the Success Message as:
    #P2_INSERT_SUCCESS#Hope this helps,
    Stew

  • Button in Interactive Report

    Hi Friends,
    I want to add Button in Interactive report for each row. Is it possible to add a button.Please help me.

    You should add a dummy column in your report query. Make dummy column as a link and change the column attribute 'Column Link' to and image. For instance the Edit column in the following query is a button on my report.
    select
    'Edit',
    "CUST_NO",
    "CUST_FIRST_NAME",
    "CUST_LAST_NAME",
    "CUST_ADDRESS",
    "CUST_CONTACT_PHONE_NO"
    from "CUSTOMER"

  • Interactive Report - search does not work when using custom authentication

    Apex 3.2.x
    I can authenticate fine with my custom authentication and all of my pages work okay except for one page that uses the Interactive Report feature. When I click 'Filter' then enter the column name, operation (contains, =, like, etc.) and the expression, then click the 'Apply' button, the page just re-displays and my filter information is missing?
    If I first login to Apex, select and run my application, the Interactive Report features work just fine. What's missing?

    More information:
    After login into my Apex workspace (development environment), when I display the Interactive Report and click debug I see this debug message:
    "using existing session report settings"
    When I login using my application's custom authentication and click debug I see this debug message:
    "creating session report settings as copy of public saved report"
    Based on this, it appears that my session info in not set correctly when using custom authentication... but I'm not sure what needs to be set.

  • Radio buttons on interactive report

    Hello all,
    I've added radio buttons to an interactive report. What would be the best way to submit the form when user selects the buttons?
    Thanks.

    Thanks.
    one of the way to submit the form is use apex.submit
    Check the example given below
    1) Assuming you have used apex_item.radiogroup to create radio buttons.
    sample sql query for interactive report
    select EMPNO,
          ENAME,
          JOB,
          MGR,
          HIREDATE,
          SAL,
          COMM,
          DEPTNO,
          apex_item.radiogroup(1, EMPNO) r
      from EMP
    2) Go to Report Attributes -> Edit Radio button column
        Under Column Definition
        Display Type : Standard Report Column
        Under Column link -> do the changes given below
        Link Text : #R#  // here R is my radio button column name, so select yours radio button column name.
        Target : URL
        URL : javascript:apex.submit({request:'TEST',set:{'P6_HIDDEN':#EMPNO#}});
         // here P6_HIDDEN is item where i am setting EMPNO to that column, if you want to set any value to any item that you want to use in process then create Hidden item with protected value no.
    or if you want to show confirm message before submitting the page then use apex.confirm in place of apex.submit .
    Hope this helps you,
    Regards,
    Jitendra
