Interactive report loosing pagination state

Hi I need your help please,
I have a page with 2 reports in a master detail fashion. The master report is an interactive report with a link that when clicked loads the record detail on the second report; this works fine.
However when the page reloads after the click the master (interactive) report is apparently re-queried from the database and the rows change, it goes back to pagination 1 , independently if when I clicked on the record it was in the pagination 3 or 11 or any, as a consequence even when I have the detail loaded in the second report I cannot see the original row in which I cliked on the main report.
How to avoid this?

Start a new thread. Yes, that's exactly what the "powers that be" want you to do. Start a new "thread" not resurrect an old one. In the general case, your situation may be different enough that a different solution would be warranted. You can refer to this old thread for reference. Okay, to your question. I think a solution might be to refresh each region (master, detail) separately -- a partial page refresh. Have you done that before?

Can't see interactive report page pagination icon

Version 3.2.0.00.27
When my interactive report first appears, it displays "1-15" in the pagination region. It does not show an icon to let me display the next 15 rows.
However, if I modify the report (as a user), and save that version (as "temp") so that I now have the "Working Report" and "temp" tabs, the pagination now includes the next page icon (i.e. 1-15 ->)
What do I need to do to have the next-page icon appear in my default report?

Issue with Interactive Report

I have a report that grabs over 10,000 rows (it's an inventory). When I run it from sql plus, it is pretty fast. When I run it from a standard report, again it's pretty fast. However, my interactive report takes about 2 min to load. I did a p_trace and got this result from the accompanying TKPROF

What is the pagination type that you have selected in the in the interactive report ? (Pagination type is under "Pagination" tab of interactive report attribute). Ensure that it is not set to "Row ranges X to Y of Z". That can be one of the reason for slow performance.

Mixing of interactive report and classic report fails the RESET PAGINATION process.

I have a tab page where i got 3 different reports REPORT_A (classic), REPORT_B(interactive) and REPORT_C (CLASSIC) in the same alphabetic order. I have a reset pagination page process which will always fire (without any condition) when you visit the page via tab.
The reset pagination process which exists in the before header stage is firing but not resetting the interactive report. It does affect the subsequent classic report REPORT_C as well. The REPORT_A would reset pagination fine since it exists before the interactive report. Is this a know bug in apex?
I created a test demo application with exact steps to reproduce the problem. The steps are in the demo website itself.

In my real application i would have a dropdownlist in the page based on which I would filter the data. The dropdownlist will have a corresponding after-submit branch which will handle the reset pagination & RIR absolutely fine. But when we visit the website through tab the above problem would crash the page.
I tried solutions like gReport.search('SEARCH') but that will fix only the interactive report, not the classic REPORT_C. That is just a hack anyway.
Any ideas.?

This makes very little sense to me. Please explain this in detail. Are you advocating making changes to APEX metadata by executing DML on tables in the APEX_040200 schema? Doing so will leave your APEX instance in an unsupported an possibly inoperable state.

How to load only first set of rows only in pagination of interactive report

Hi all,
Iam using 3.2 x and database 10g.
I have created interactive report and it contains 500000 records. and iam using pagination x to y but background it loads complete rows from database.
To load complete 500000 records page taking 10 minutes.So My reqiurement is I need to load first set of rows like 500 rows and Once i click next button then only it should load next set of rows like 501 to 1000.
Please tell any idea to resolve the above problem.

try to trace your page to see how your statement can be tuned. To do that add &p_trace=YES to the URL.
This creates a standard Database Trace file which can be analyzed with TKPROF or SQL Developer or similiar tools.

Custom pagination for APEX 4.2 interactive report using Page Zero

Hi,
I want to implement an «Custom pagination for APEX 4.2 interactive report» using a «page zero».
I recently migrate from Apex 3.1 to Apex 4.2 and my «Custom pagination for APEX 3.1 interactive report» using a «page zero» is not working any more.
So now I try to adapt an excellent example of Jari Laine for 4.0 but using a page zero.
I put the code JavaScript to Page zero but I must create an dynamic action to fire only for an interactive report region.

Thought I would try once more with my DatePicker question.
On the Apex.Oracle.Com website I have created a 1 page application that has an Interactive Report.

I have 2 questions :
(1) In IE7, press 'Actions', 'Filter'. On the Column dropdown list, select 'Order Timestamp'.
Notice the prompt icon to the right of the 'expression'. This should change to the Datepicker, but in IE7 it does not. Try the samething in Firefox or Chrome and the Datepicker will appear.
Is this a BUG, or does Apex 4.02 not support IE7 ?
(2) In Firefox or Chrome, where you can now see the Datepicker, you will notice that it is the new style picker, not the old style ( called 'classic' ). I want to change it so that it shows the 'classic' datepicker not the new, but cannot see how to do it, if indeed you actually can.
I would really appreciate it if someone could take a look and let me know if I am going mad, or if we need to get all our users onto IE8. We have now gone live with Apex 4.02 and need to resolve these issues.

Pagination Reset Error on Interactive Report

I have an interactive report that shows 15 rows per "page." My user clicks next page at the bottom to say the 3rd page (rows 31-45) and then clicks on a column header and types a valid value in the search box for the column. The interactive report then returns an error that says
Invalid set of rows requested, the source data of the report has been modified.
Reset Pagination
I have an unconditional branch on the page that resets pagination. However, I don't believe the interactive report is actually submitting the page when it returns this result. Is this just a bug with interactive reports or did I miss something?
For reference, we're using Apex 4.0.2.00.07

Pagination on interactive report - how to move it on my layout

okay, I am working with the basic interactive report, no tweaks. My end user doesn't seem to worry about much horizontal scrolling, although it goes against my personal web dev standards to do that without significant necessity. But with the templates as they are, the pagination for the next/prev set of records is WAAAY over to the right. I find this bothersome, and for the benefit of my user, I would like to left-align this. I've looked on Google, done a search in this forum, and checked the APEX docs, not much leaping out at me. I suspect I can tweak a div class on some template, not having an easy time finding that.
helpful thoughts on this? TYIA, and points for a working idea.

Interactive Report Download and Session State Protection

I have created an Interactive Report in an APEX application that I have enabled
session state protection for. The issue I am having is with the "Download"
functionality of the interactive report to a .csv file.
The URL created by selecting Download from the drop down (javascript:gReport.controls.download();)
is built or constructed without a checksum thus causing the error below.
Error
No checksum was provided to show processing for a page that
requires a checksum when one or more request, clear cache, or argument
values are passed as parameters.
The anchor tag containing the URL (/f?p=app_id:page:session_id:CSV:) is contained within
<div id="apexir_CONTROL_PANEL_DROP" class="drop_panel
clearfix" style="">
Running the following: Application Express 3.1.0.00.32 on Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.3.0
Is there a way to add a checksum to this? OR does anyone have any ideas on how to work around this?

WORKAROUND:
1.) Create hidden ITEM on page (I named it P23_PREPARED_CSV_DOWNLOAD_URL).
Enter the following for the ITEM
as the SOURCE_TYPE : PL/SQL Function Body
as the SOURCE: return apex_util.prepare_url('f?p=&APP_ID.:&APP_PAGE_ID.:&APP_SESSION.:CSV:')
2.) Create BUTTON that executes javascript to open POPUP window with this url.
a.) Create Button and enter
<a href="javascript:popupURL('&P23_PREPARED_CSV_DOWNLOAD_URL.')">Download and Save to CSV file</a>as the "Text Label/Alt"
Originally had custom code for javascript POPUP and this is not needed .... just use the APEX javascript function.

How to run a EXECUTE IMMEDIATE statement in a Interactive Report

I need to make a dinamic construction of a query to execute in a Interactive Report, but the Region Source only allows simple SELECT statements. There is any way to run a EXECUTE IMMEDIATE statement in a Interactive Report Region Source?

I have been testing for a while the use of a collection in the interactive report but i am unable to load data in the interactive report.
I created the collection successfully in the SQL Commands with the code:

My problem is: the data of the collection are returned in the SQL Commands but when i run the query statament in an interactive report, report or even a Pl/Sql region in my application the data aren't displayed, only the message (No data found).
Can someone explain why, besides the collection is populated the interactive can not print the results.

Interactive report jquery not executed on pagination

recently i fell into another problem when using jquery in an interactive report.
in the page header i do this

SQL statement with Function returns slow in Interactive Report

I have an Interactive Report that returns well but when I add in a function call in the where clause that does nothing but return a hard coded string of primary keys and is compared to a table's primary key with a like operator the performance tanks. Here is the example:
get_school2_section(Y.pk_id,M.pk_id,I.section,:P577_SECTION_SHUTTLE) LIKE '%:' || I.pk_id || ':%'
I have the values hard coded in the return of the function. There are no cursors run in the function, there is no processing done in the function. It only declares a variable. Sets the variable, and returns that variable back to the SQL statement.
I can hard code the where clause value to look like this:
':90D8D830A877CCFFE040010A347D1A50:8ED0BBFDEAACC629E040010A347D6471:9800B8FDBD22B761E040010A347D0D9A:' LIKE '%:' || I.pk_id || ':%'
This returns fast. When I add in the function call which returns the same hard coded values, the page goes from returning in 1 to 2 seconds to 45 or more seconds.
Why does adding a simple function call into the where clause cause such a deterioration in performance.

So you are telling me that the where clause with a function call will NOT run the function on every row? Please explain that to me further?
if you have code that is the following:
select a,b,c from a_table where a > 2 and b < 3 and function_call(c) > 0You are telling me that Oracle will NOT call that function on EVERY row it tries to process in the select?

Saving checkbox-state to table in Interactive Report

Hi,
I have been working with the information on http://www.apexninjas.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Checkboxes_in_Interactive_Reports.pdf to create an interactive report with a column containing a checkbox for each row.
My report contains the following (simplified):
Task_id, Employee_id, Checkbox_column
The checkbox_column keeps track of which employees work on which tasks, so it could be:
Task_id, Employee_id, Checkbox_column
1               1                         0
1               2                         1
1               3                         0
signifying that only employee 2 works on task 1.
Now, I need to be able to change the 0 to 1 by clicking the checkbox, which already is possible, but I have problems saving that row to the database. Saving the checkbox state is also included in the PDF I used (page 12-14, 'Saving the checkbox state #2'), but I don't really understand where to put the scripts, I haven't worked with scripts and processes before so I could use some help understanding which script I need to put where. All in all, it's not too much code, I just don't understand where to put it.
The scripts mentioned in the PDF are:

I've been looking around on the forum and Google but I can't find the detailed answer to what I'm looking for anywhere.
I am currently working with the test environment Oracle supplied us, because we are testing if we can use APEX at our company.
The version is Application Express 4.2.2.00.11 and it's running on Oracle 11g.

Alternately, since you are on apex 4.2 you could just add it to the Page Attributes->JavaScript->Function and Global Variable Declaration field (without the script tags):

Now you need to create an HTML region (in display point "after footer"). Then you create the P_IR_REPORT_ID hidden item inside your new region.
In the region definition you will put the following code into the region footer:
