Interest in filling out an online survey

Hello,
Sorry for polling a high traffic area.
I'm attempting to assertain the interest in taking a survey from industry professionals at this forum with the intent to document the responses as part of my final project of my BS in CS.
I haven't written the survey yet, I hope to have it written soon.
I don't have any interest in knowing personal information, it would (hopefully) be about 5 minutes of your time, email it to me, and done. If there is an uncomfort level with email, but still some interest, something else could be worked out, I'm sure.
I personally don't care for survey's, but in this case I would like some feedback from some of the folks here I respect, and which I know, will give me a good indicator of how legitimate my assertions are in my project, and ultimately give my project graders an indication as well.
Unfortunately, my project is not Java specific though it does deal with Java on a small level, I hope this isn't an issue. If it becomes an issue, I will gladly retract my request.
Thanks for your time.

Unless I *really* needed the information badly, no, I
definitely wouldn't
fill out the form. For me - and I think for most people -
it's not a matter
of the few seconds it would take to fill out the form, but a
strong dislike
for having my personal information recorded. (And anyone who
isn't worrying
about this probably should be!)

  • I fill out a online form and when i hit send firefox resets the page

    When i fill out an online form of some kind and it takes over a certain amount of time firefox will clear all my information and reset the form to all blank responses. I assume it must be firefox and not the website I'm using because it has happened on multiple occasions on multiple websites.

    Go to the address '''about:crashes''' and tell us your latest crash IDs. We can then look at the data specific to your crash and have a better idea of what is causing the problem.

    I have form to fill out online

    If you have difficulties filling online forms, make sure you use a browser that uses the Adobe Reader plugin.
    If that does not solve your problem, provide more information.

  • How can my java application fill out an online form

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a Java application that will connect to a URL, fill out the form and submit it.
    How would I go about doing this?
    Thanks in advance,
    Chanie

    I'm doing something exceedingly similar, but I'm not sure how to get it to work, to be honest. Basically, I'm trying to download information from a site that requires a username and password. The html of the site is as follows, as well as my code. Any help would be appreciated!
    <form method="post" action="/cards/FALLON19790309A.php">
    <p>Username:   <input type="text" name="username" size="16" maxlength="16" value=></p>
    <p>Password:   <input type="password" name="password" size="16" maxlength="16"></p>
    <input type="hidden" name="action" value="muffinklezmer">
    <input type="hidden" name="nocache" value="1046986423">
    <input type="submit" value="Log in"></form>
    My code right now looks like this:
    URL playerCard = new URL("http://www.webpage.com");
    URLConnection pcConnection= playerCard.openConnection();
    pcConnection.setRequestProperty("username","ABCDE");
    pcConnection.setRequestProperty("password","12345");
    BufferedReader in = new BufferedReader(
    new InputStreamReader(
    pcConnection.getInputStream()));
    pcConnection.connect();
    String inputLine = in.readLine();
    while (inputLine != null)
    System.out.println(inputLine);
    inputLine = in.readLine();
    }

  • Fill out pdf online, then email

    We want new hires to click a link on our website where a pdf comes up. They fill out the fields in the pdf and then the pdf gets emailed to HR. It would also work if I could somehow save that filled-out pdf to the server. I could have the form submit to another page that triggers cfmail and attaches the pdf. Just can't get the pdf saved to the server after having it filled out. Any ideas?

    You can do it using the cfdocument tag.  I haven't used it yet, but this  Adobe help page seems to have a pretty good explanation.

    Google videos are your friend.  Google Videos is/are better than youtube because they include all of youtube plus everything else.
    You would be amazed how many user-created demos/tutorials/tips videos are out there.  Even more amazing is how specific these videos are.  Specific to your model number of camera, of flash, of lens.  Specific to your particular tiny issue about Lightroom or Photoshop or whatever.
    As for good learning/informational DSLR websites, here is a list of my personal favorites:
    http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/
    http://www.the-digital-picture.com/Reviews/

    http://www.lensrentals.com/rent/canon/lenses/telephoto/sigma-50-500mm-f4.5-6.3-hsm-os-for-canon
    The Digital Picture has great reviews, plus a unique lens comparison tool (ACTUAL IMAGES!) in their "TOOLS" tab.
    Lens Rentals contains Roger C's very well-informed, well-respected, and VERY witty commentary on lenses.
    Cambrige in Colour gives a nice, refreshing and very civilized British sensibility to things, and is welcoming to beginners, and has good short writings on basic digital photography concepts.
    Canon Rumors tells you (sometimes) when new equipment is coming out, and has a lively forum that is less flame-y than Nikon Rumors.

  • Does Firefox facilitate my filling out of online forms when the form asks for standard information such as name, address, email, phone number. I just switched over from Goole Chrome which had this feature.

    Google Chrome would offer dropdown prompts for this information as I started entering the information. I would simply highlight the correct prompt and hit enter and the information would be entered throughout the online form.

  • Problems filling out an online webform with my Mac.

    Can anyone please help me?!
    I have build an online webform on my website (with Concrete5) and at first it was working perfectly.
    Then suddenly the top halve of my webpage  appeared not clickable anymore, including the navigationbar and searchfield. This while I haven't changed anything and earlier I experienced no such problems!
    Now my friend tells me on a Windows computer there are no problems. Can anyone please tell me how I can fix this problem for Mac users?
    I have tried it with Safari, Google Chroom and FireFox.
    I hope someone can help me with this.
    Thanks in advance!
    Kind regards,

    Yes Michael, I have asked a similar question as written above, but haven't received an answer yet. Thanks for your quick reply.
    In the meantime, my research lies still.. and at this rate I am never going to reach my deadline
    So if you know anything else I can do or if anyone else does, that would be great!!!

  • How do I create a digital signature to use when filling out applications online?

    The application is asking me to add or create a digital ID to sign and encrypt documents. The certificate that comes with your digital ID is sent to others so that they can verify your signature.
    I have four options: Browse for an existing digital ID file
    Configure a roaming ID for use on this computer
    Create a self-signed digital ID for use with Acrobat
    Look for newly inserted hardware tokens

    Formscentral does not support forms with digital signature workflows. I suggest you see if our Echosign product meets your needs.

  • I am filling out an online application for school. Is it possible to set Firefox to check spelling when in a single-line text box without having to right click every time?

    I want to be able to set spell check to occur automatically even for single-line text boxes.

    You can set the pref <b>layout.spellcheckDefault</b> to <i>2</i> on the <b>about:config</b> page to perform the spell check on single line and multi line text fields.
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/layout.spellcheckDefault
    To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
    If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />
    *Use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a preference more easily.
    *Preferences that have been modified show as bold(user set).
    *Preferences can be reset to the default or changed via the right-click context menu.

  • I lost an online application I was filling out, should I restore to before that time? what happens

    I was filling out an online applicatioln and I lost it by closing my laptop.  Should I restore back to before I did that or did I lose it forever?

    Only if like a few online applications it saved itself, often to let people pause, stop, and go back later to finish such as when they need to gather more information, lengthy applications.
    And if there is ability to save current state of the application.
    It may even be in your web history and cache but will have timed-out.

  • After filling out survey, I immediately got a call about bill discount.(Phishing?)

    I got an email from [email protected] that asked several questions about my new GS4 phone. I never filled out any forms online about receiving my new phone so I am assuming the survey was legit. Immediately after I completed the survey I received a call from (800-888-9595) with a recorded message to visit vzw355.com to receive a free discount of an entire bill. When visiting the site I get an alert (Chrome browser) that this is a reported phishing website. Is there a known issue with this process, and was the survey from a legit partner? Any feedback or details would greatly be appreciated.
