Interface configuration in UCS 6120
Experts, first I need to admit I am new to this technology.
With reference to some issue in our network I have identified I need to change the native vlan configuration for the UCS 6120 from the nxos cli.
Question is how to do this?
I have looged into the cli and see this command:
hou-rd-ucs03-6120-A(nxos)# sh run int eth1/1
!Command: show running-config interface Ethernet1/1
!Time: Thu Jul 12 06:43:32 2012
version 5.0(3)N2(2.02q)
interface Ethernet1/1
description U: Uplink
switchport mode trunk
switchport trunk native vlan 15
switchport trunk allowed vlan 1,10,15,20,25,29-32,34
spanning-tree bpduguard disable
no shutdown
hou-rd-ucs03-6120-A(nxos)#
I need to change that native vlan to 3, how do I do this?
Regards,
Nikhil
Hello Nikhil,
The NX-OS CLI context on Fabric Interconnect ( FI ) is read only and we cannot make any configuration changes from that space.
You need to use UCS Manager to make the necessary changes.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/unified_computing/ucs/sw/gui/config/guide/2.0/b_UCSM_GUI_Configuration_Guide_2_0.html
I guess you might have disjoint L2 where different uplinks needs to have different native VLANs.
You need to configure under LAN tab using LAN manager.

I have two nexus 5548's configured as a vPC peers and two ucs 6120's configure in a cluster. The 5548's are connected to two catalyst 6500 via trunks that are in a VSS configuration. My question is, i have the ucs 6120 managment 0 ports connected to the 5k's, 6120-A mgmt0 to 5k-1 and 6120-B to 5k-2, everytime i fail the ucs 6120-A (primary) i lose ping to the cluster ip and can't manage ucs 6120-B at all even though it is pingable. Below are snippets on how the management ports are configured on the 5K's. Any Idea's?

Problem connecting Broadcom NetXtreme II 57711 to Cisco UCS 6120
Hi all,
I ordered rackmount server(C210 M1) with Broadcom NetXtreme II 57711 which I would like to connect to Cisco UCS 6120 in switching mode, but I can't make it working. Broadcom has 2 slots for SFP/SFP+ so I inserted Cisco SFP 10GBase-SR into it. I also inserted the same SFP into the Cisco 6120.
I also tried to cross the fiber but I still got no link.
I tried to lookup supported SFPs from Broadcom but have no luck so far. Can anybody help, please?
The only technical specification I found is http://www.cdw.com/shop/products/default.aspx?EDC=1997284 . I don't know if it is reliable but I can't make much of it.
MatMartin,
Both the 6100 Farbric interconnect and the Broadcom support SFP+, below I have included some supporting documentation.
The first link shows the supported adapters for the C Series Servers (Overview of Cisco C-Series Adapters .pdf) which has a link to a datasheet for the broadcom. The second link provides a list of supported SFPs.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/ps10265/ps10493/c-series_adapter.html
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/prod/collateral/modules/ps5455/data_sheet_c78-455693.html
The output of show interface brief on the fabric interconnect will display which interfaces have an SFP present, you can also use the command
show interface ethernet x/y transceiver details for more information.
If you still have issues you can use a process of elimination, change the cable, SFPs try a different port on the fabric interconnect. Plug another
supported device into the fabric interconnect to see if it comes up. You can use a similar process to rule in or out a problem with the Server.

WLC DHCP Settings - Under Dynamic Interface configuration
Hi Guys,
If I have a dynamic interface that is connected to a subnet where the router interfaces have DHCP servers configured under the helper address commands, do I need to configure the DHCP fields under the dynamic interface configuration?
I have helper address configured on the connected routers AND these fields configured with the same DHCP servers.
Just wondering if I can take the IPs out of the WLC configuration?
Many thx indeed,
KenKen, the DHCP address under the dynamic interface, is the address the WLC will unicast the DHCP request to when a client tries to use that interface. Under normal operation this address is needed. There is a way to get the WLC to bridge the packet to the wire so that it is a broadcast instead of a unicast packet. CLI command is config dhcp proxy disable.
But I do believe that even if you issue the CLI command, the software wants the DHCP address listed under the dynamic interface.

Network Interface Configuration
For Solaris 9,
<<Q1>> What is the following interfaces name means? le, hme? Which is the Ethernet port?
<<Q2>> Where is the networking configuration file stored in the Solaris 9?
<<Q3>>How to configure the network interfaces in Solaris 9?
<<Q4>> Did we need to restart the network after we have edit the network configuration? If, how to restart the network? (e.g. in Debian /etc/init.d/networking restart).
Please assist. You also posted this same question at another forum web site.
It appears your answer is going to be over there.
There's now no sense in duplicating it here.

How to enter into interface configuration mode on aironet 1130AG
How can I enter into "interface configuration" on Aironet 1130AG, AIR-LAP1042N?
When I put following commands in enable
conf t
interface Dot11Radio1
but, it fails and I cannot enter into "interface configuration".
How can I do this ?
The reason why I enter into
conf t
interface Dot11Radio1
because I want to disable cdp via CLI ( serial console).
best regardsGeorge,
I ran into an exception the other day – lightweight 3500s (and presumably 3600s) are allowing config t without the debug precursor. The lab version I’m doing this on is 7.0.220.0. Do you have same/different results? I’m not sure if this is tied to the AP model or the lw code they’re running. I’ll need to do some more testing.

but tomorrow i must add new two routers on 2 new interfaces and i would have this new scenario:

ACS-4.1 - doesn't display Radius(Nortel) in Interface configuration
We have one ACS running over Windows that we can see the Radius(Nortel) option in Interface Configuration.
Have anyone treated with this issue? That is probably because you have no AAA device configured for Radius (Nortel). IF you configure one, it will appear in the interface configuration

Can you provide more details like what you are expecting..
If my understanding is correct you want to implement a mappings in seeburger bic mapping tool for your sceanrio which can take care of conversions right?
if yes provide more details about your scenario

Best practice RAID configuration for UCS C260 M2 for Unified Communications?
I have two UCS C260 M2 servers with 16 drives (PID: C260-BASE-2646) and I am trying to figure out what the best practice is for setting up the RAID.
I will be running CUCM, CUP, CUC, Prime, etc. for about 2000 phone environment.
If anyone can offer real world suggestions that would be great. I also have a redundnat server. The RAID setup depends a bit on your specific configuration; however, there is a guide for Cisco Collaboration on Virtual Servers that you can review here:
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/virtual/CUCM_BK_CF3D71B4_00_cucm_virtual_servers/CUCM_BK_CF3D71B4_00_cucm_virtual_servers_chapter_010.html#CUCM_TK_C3AD2645_00
If your server is spec'd as a Tested Reference Configuration (TRC) then the C260M2 TRC1 would have 16 HDD that you would configure/split into 2 x 8HDD RAID 5 arrays.
