Interface LabView with IP camera which supports MPEG4

Hi,I would like to know is there anyway in which LabView can interface with an IP camera that only supports MPEG4?
I need a simple program where LabView is able to capture live video or image from camera and save them as a file which can be send through email.

Hello
Even i am unable to interface my android smartphone camera with labview even when i used IP Webcam and droidcam.
Although it has been interfaced as it shows my cam in MAX but it doesnt show the camera in the program i made for video acquisition.
the same program works well for my laptop camera.
I am attaching the screenshots as well.
Hope u help me out with.
Also if possible can you guide me through a link of its tutorial if i am wrong.

  • Link labview with other software which can do hydraulic simulation such as Nanas Fluent.

       Hi all:
I currently want to exchange data between labview with Ansys fluent. That is: sending flow boundary condition and initial condition from labview to hydraulic simulation software (ansys fluent), and get simulation result back to labview from that software.
I didn't find any modules online to link labview and fluent together. (There are others such as Labview Solidworks module)
Is any one know how to link labview to any software which can do hydraulic simulation?
             Thank you very much. :-)

Do you know of any other programs that exchange data with Ansys?  If so how do they do it?  ActiveX is a common way for communicating between LabVIEW and other programs, is this an option?

    Hi,
    Thanks for reply
actually I am using Diadem to interface Basler camra . it is a type of camera which directly connects to the computer via ethernet interface and sends us the streaming video which can be viewed using pylon viewer . There is  an example in the file SafetyTest.tdm in which  the file is located in " C:\Program Files\National Instruments\DIAdem 2011\Examples\Data"  in which a video is synchronized with the crash analysys data .
Actually in this example we browse the video and load the data . instead of loading the video file is it possible can i directly stream the video on the view area of the diadem
The Basler camera uses ethernet port of the PC for interfaceit directly streams video to pylon viewer(it is a GUI which comes with the camera)

  • Interface labview with the test board to identify opamp pins automatically

is it possible to interface LABVIEW to a test board in such a way that the input, output pins of an op amp (8, 10, 14, 16 pin opamps) are identified automatically when DUT is placed in the socket

    pratheek wrote:
Thanks alot. pin numbers are variable. I need to test the functional and test parameters for 8, 10, 14, 16 pin opamps.
The first thing you need to do is ensure that +VCC, -VCC, and GND are always connected to the correct pins.  I think the best way to do this is have preset wire options that you manually select with some switches (reduces the complexity of the LabVIEW controlled wire switching).
    pratheek wrote:
The desired out put for my project is to check the functionality of the opamps
I understand the end goal, but what you need for first specity is the test sequence.
    1. Identify In/Out pins & number of op-amps.  What is the sequence for this??? What voltages do you apply to the various pins and what is your desired outcome???  How do you identify each pin as in/out and whether they are for OpAmp1, OpAmp2, etc.  Since this sequence will inevitabely apply voltage to the output pins, make sure your test sequence doesn't damage the chips.
    2. After identfying each op-amp, what is the test sequence for evaluate its "functionality"??  Do you wish to evaluate the gain for various resistor combinations in an external circuit????
    3. Now with your test sequences outlined, you can finally begin on getting LabVIEW to implement these functions.  I'd use the DAQ digital outputs to a decoder (3-to-8 or 4-to-16).  Use the outputs of the decoder to control switches (these switches control the connections between a second DAQ and the test pins).  A third DAQ may even be necessary to control the selection of various test resistors.  Keep in mind that each of these switches will add resistance to the path so your evaluation must be made measuring the voltages at the op-amp pins (not using the sourced voltage values).  Planning the full measurement sequence and requirements before you start will not only help guide your program's development but it will tell you which DAQs are useful and how many you will need.
This is quite an undertaking and we can't really provide any help on the LabVIEW end until you have a full write up of what you want to happen and how (step-by-step details).  Once you have that, start thinking about the sequence of events your code will have to follow to make it happen, then come back for guidance/help.

  • Interface Labview with custom board

Hello, I want to use Labview with a board I designed. To be brief my board has an Altera FPGA, some memory, and a fiber-optic transceiver. I want to develop a Labview program to display the data I'm receiving from my fiber-optic transceiver. I want to know if this is possible to have Labview interface with a non-National Instruments board? What do I need in order for Labview to work with my board. In my previous design I had the received data written directly to the computer's main memory. Could I do something like that, just tell Labview where in memory to get the data to be displayed?
    thanks,
    joe

Absolutely. I'm doing that right now with VISA. Look at the posting here. There are some links there in how to procede.

    Hi
I am looking to create a list of consumer (and prosumer) cameras which can directly connect to ipad2 via CCK and the video (& accompanying audio) shot by these cameras directly import in imovie without any conversion etc. for subsequent editing.
So far I have see some posts mentioning Flip Mino HD being able to do this.
Would also appreciate if the camera's resolution, rough price and other details are also posted for comparision sake.

  • Interfacing LabVIEW with Meta Morph Journal

    Hi
I'm just starting a project where I must fully automate an experiment involving a microscope and a microfluidics manifold. I am planning to use LabVIEW to control the manifold and Meta Morph Journal to program the motions of the microscope stage and I'm wondering if it's possible to interface the two (i.e. have one talk to the other to coordinate the actions).
    Thanks

    Hi Shaheen,
You can get started by followind this tutorial which explains how to add your instrument so that MAX can see it and establish communication with the device.

  • Taking a picture in LabVIEW with USB camera

    Hello:
I am trying to find a way to use a Logitech USB camera (or potentially a different USB camera - perhaps a more expensive Edmund Optics camera) to snap a picture in LabVIEW. I have NI Vision software installed as well as the IMAQ USB extension for Vision, but I'm not sure where to go from here. All I need to be able to do is to snap a photo within LabVIEW and have LabVIEW save it onto the hard drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Brad

    Hi Brad,
Some of the information in the thread linked above may be out of date.
Check out this article [Acquiring Images in LabVIEW Using a USB or an IEEE1394 (FireWire) Camera] for some advice on how to snap your pictures. If you already have the NI-IMAQdx drivers, you should be able to use these for acquisition (as long as the USB camera is DirectShow compliant).
If you do not have the NI-IMAQdx drivers, but you do have the Vision Development Module you will be able to download the Vision Acquisition Software which includes these drivers. The vision acquisition software can be found here: http://www.ni.com/nisearch/app/main/p/bot/no/ap/tech/lang/en/pg/1/sn/catnav:du,n8:13.79.7820,ssnav:s...
    I hope this helps!

It doesn't require a controller from Keithley. That's a choice that you or someone else made and not exactly a good choice. If Keithley provides its version of VISA, you need to install that but also NI-VISA as primary. The actual gpib driver must come from Keithley. You probably need to enable tulip support as well. The controller and instrument have to be listed in MAX.

  • Interfacing LabVIEW with SIEMENS s7-300 PLC

    Hi all,
Im using LabVIEW 8.6 and DSC module I want to interface S7-300 SIEMENS PLC with LabVIEW. I've gone through the turorial on the NI site " Connect LabVIEW to any PLC". By following the tutorial when I am trying to create I/O server in the registred OPC servers window there is nothing what would be the reason. Also there is no specific information available about the hardware connection etc. Kindly help me through this or suggest some tutorial links. What about the PROFIBUS and MPI. I know the information i am giving is not specific and focused but I've tried to tell all of you to atleast understand what I want to do. Hope you people help. THANKS.
    Naqqash

    Hi,
Lookout is our legacy OPC software that was phased out by the DSC module. You can read about both here: What is NI Lookout? and What is DSC?
You can find a great introductory DSC tutorial here: Getting Started with the LabVIEW Datalogging and Supervisory Control Module. A couple other places to get started: NI Module Training (look for DSC)  and Connect LabVIEW to Any PLC Using OPC Webcast
As for simulating your hardware, if you have a 3rd party simulator that will imitate your hardware, you might be able to fool DSC into thinking that there is actual hardware connected, but DSC does not include simulating capabilities itself.

  • Yahoo Msger with Web-cam view support

Does anyone know of any other client besides Gyach Enhanced that allows web-cam viewing using Yahoo Messenger?  I am unable to compile Gyach Enhanced and I have not found another client that supports this.  If you have been able to compile Gyach Enhanced on Arch could you please provide me the details?  Any help will be appreciated.
    Thank you

I found http://gyachi.sourceforge.net/ and I attempting to compile, however, I receive the error:
checking for GTKHTML... configure: error: Package requirements (libgtkhtml-2.0 >= 2.0) were not met:
    No package 'libgtkhtml-2.0' found
Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.
Alternatively, you may set the environment variables GTKHTML_CFLAGS
and GTKHTML_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.
I have libgtkhtml-2.6.3-2 and it seems to be located in /opt/gnome/include/gtkhtml-2.0/libgtkhtml .  Does anyone have any suggestions on getting this to compile or how to edit the PKG_CONFIG_PATH ?  I attempted GTKHTML_LIBS=/opt/gnome/include/gtkhtml-2.0/libgtkhtml  but I still receive the same error.
    Thank you.

Most probably your webcam comes with drivers for Video for Windows (VfW)
or DirectX. In that case you can just use:
    Irene He's IVision Toolkit:
    http://www.hytekautomation.com/Products/ IVision.html
    or
    Pete Parentes WebCam library:
    http://www.cs.unc.edu/~parente/labview/ index.shtml
The first is a rather impressive Video Manipulation library with a
nice video capture interface to DirectX/VfW too, and the second is a
simple video capture library to access any VfW compliant
    device.

  • Interface LabVIEW and matlab

Hello, I want to interface LabVIEW with MATLAB using TCP/IP for data transfer. Can anyone, please give me a step-by-step instruction to how to do this? Or else can you point out where I can get them? Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi Sanchu,
As TCP/IP is such a generic protocol then you should be able to fairly easily build TCP/IP interfaces for both your LabVIEW and Matlab code and transfer data using ASCII, or variants etc depending on what sort of data you are trying to transfer. I'm not too familiar with Matlab, but on the LabVIEW end there are some very good TCP/IP server and client examples that ship with LabVIEW.
Another option that you may want to consider, and the reason I'm answering this is that I've recently done a project whereby we took some legacy Matlab code which we wanted to transpose into LabVIEW so that we could then fully automate a test system we have using TestStand. Much of it we were able to derive LabVIEW equivalent functions, but for some functions where LabVIEW didn't appear to have a suitable equivalent, or where it was simply more efficient, we simply copy and pasted the Matlab code into either in the first instance MathScript nodes (not dependant on Matlab) or Matlab script nodes (which will hopefully return to at a future date to fully transpose over to LabVIEW so that we are no longer dependant on a Matlab licence).
In both instances the relative ease of doing this was very impressive, and we were able to wrap huge amounts of Matlab code within LabVIEW with very few issues. As an idea, have you considered wrapping your Matlab functionality in this way and then keeping all the TCP/IP client and server comms within LabVIEW?
N.B. if you haven't found it search the palette for 'Matlab Script'
    Best of luck,
