Interface with dbase files

Hello!!
     Good, above all I apologize with beginner's mail.
     I am beginning in Java, and I have been presented a problem that I have to solve.
     I need to create an interface to send and to receive data of files dbf (files dbase) to Oracle. Is the question, how can I carry out this operation??
     I am using Oracle 8.1.7.
     From already thank you!!

  • TrueTime Card and how to interface with dll file!?

    I am trying to interface with a PCI-SG 2U (IRIG) timing card (Used to made by TrueTime, now Symmetricom).  Does anyone have a solution for this card in LV 2009?
    If not, can anyone give advice on writing code to interface with .dll file?  I am not sure how to pass through the "GENERIC_READ | GENERIC_WRITE" into the function to open the device. The function says to open it is:
    TT_OpenDevice(boardID, GENERIC_READ | GENERIC_WRITE, &hDevice)
    No clue on how to pass this in.  Can anyone help?
    Thanks -
    Tom

    Thanks Mike.  I do have the .h file and the sdk information.  I went through and used the Import>Shared Library Tool and was able to find all the header information that way.  I guess that my problem/question is, the documentation says that it is a DWORD to pass as an input, but LabVIEW says it is a uint32.  I guess the real question is, what the heck do I pass in to the dll function?  Should it be the string "GENERIC_READ | GENERIC_WRITE" or something else?
    Thanks -

  • Forms6i interface with Excel file

    I want to interface forms6i with excel file.
    Through Forms 6i read data from an excel file and load to oracle tables.

    Hi
    I'd agree that probably the best approach is to save the Excel file into a delimited file (maybe a comma-separated file) and read it in from there.
    Reading a file using TEXT_IO is fine as long as the table isn't very large. Anything beyond a few hundred records, I'd strongly suggest using SQLLoader, as it is massively quicker and you don't have to go to the trouble of writing a routine to parse the line you've read in to split it up into its constituent fields.
    If you do go down the route of reading lines in using TEXT_IO, you might find a routine like this useful:
    PROCEDURE Get_Next_Field (record_in        IN     VARCHAR2,
                              current_position IN OUT NUMBER,
                              next_field       OUT    VARCHAR2,
                              separator        IN     VARCHAR2) IS
    current_letter VARCHAR2(1);
    BEGIN
        LOOP
            current_letter := SUBSTR(record_in, current_position, 1);
            current_position := current_position + 1;
            IF  current_letter <> separator THEN
                   next_field := next_field || current_letter;
            ELSE
                   EXIT;
            END IF;
        END LOOP;
        --Trim off any enclosing characters
        next_field := LTRIM(next_field, '"');
        next_field := RTRIM(next_field, '"');
    END;You can then call this procedure with a series of calls like this to get your values out of the line of text:
    Get_Next_Field(line_in, current_position, field1, :separator);
    Get_Next_Field(line_in, current_position, field2, :separator);(...where line_in is the line you've just read from your file, current_position is a number to show where you've got to in the line, field1 is the variable to hold the value you split out of the line and :separator is just that, maybe a comma character.)
    Hope this helps

  • Is a database table required for temporary interfaces with flat file data set source ?

    Folks,  this is the situation I have in ODI 11.1.1.7
    I have a temporary interface (yellow), called MJ_TEMP_INT,  that pulls data from TWO data sets in the source into a temporary target (TEMP_TARG). The catch is one data set pulls from a from a table whereas the other data set pulls from a flat file.  A union is done on the data sets.
    I then create another interface, called MJ_INT, that uses the MJ_TEMP_INT as a source and the target is a real db. table called "REAL_TARGET"
    Two questions:
    When I execute my second interface  (MJ_INT), I get a message "ORA-00942: table or view does not exist" because it is looking for a real db table TEMP_TARG. Why must I have one ? because I am pulling from a flat file ?
    On my second interface (MJ_INT) when I look at the property sheet of my source interface MJ_TEMP_INT (yellow), the checkbox next to "Use temporary interface as Derived table" is DISABLED.  Why ? Is is also because my temporary interface is pulling from a flat file ?
    I have attached a file that shows a screen shot of my ODI studio.
    By the way,  IF my temporary interface source has only one data set pulling from a db. table into a temporary target table, say called MJ_TEMP2_TARG,  and then when I use this temporary interface as a source to another other real db. target table (REAL2_TARGET),  THEN, every thing works.  ODI does not require me to have a real db. table MJ_TEMP2_TARG and the checkbox for "Use temporary interface as Derived table" is NOT DISABLED and my REAL2_TARGET table gets populated.
    Thank you in advance.
    M. Jamal.

    Thanks SH. I thought so.
    Though I understand the reason to materialize the file in a staging area, but that almost defeats the purpose of having a temporary interface in this case if we have to save the data in a permanent db. table first.  I assume the db. table sticks around and is not automatically dropped once the interface executing ends.  If the db. table sticks around then I also must truncate it first before executing the temporary interface each time. Right ?

  • Interface with device driver (API or DLL files)

    I want to make my C++ program interface with an instrument which has a device driver available at the OEM's website. It's a DLL file (not a .cpp file), but I don't know how to call DLL file from C++. I am using Measurement Studio for Visual C++ and Microsoft Visual C++ compiler. Do you have a C++ example code or tutorial about calling DLL (or API) from C++ ?

    Irene,
    Measurement Studio is simply a plug-in for Visual Studio C++. Calling a DLL is general to C/C++. It usually amounts to #including the .h file that comes with the library, like this:
    #include "MyDLL.h"
    I found the following website through Google, which is pretty thorough on calling DLLs:
    http://www.codeproject.com/dll/XDllPt1.asp
    I hope that helps.

  • File-PI_File Interface with additional feature

    Dear All,
    We have already implemented successfully File-PI-File scenario in which files are picked from a certain folder and is converted into a different format and is sent to another folder. Now I want to add another feature to the scenario that a mail should trigger every 24 hrs or 12 hrs  which should inform regarding how many files has been processed during that period along with the file names.
    Is there any standard functionality available to achieve this??

    a workaround would be to store the filenames into a ABAP table via RFC call or a DB table via JDBC. then have a scenario configured where this data will be fetched (schedule your adapter for once a day) and accordingly a mail can be triggered.

  • Creation of Server Proxy for  Message interface with External Defination

    Dear All,
    I am getting a problem while generating a server proxy for the inbound interface . The request message used in the inbound interface is a external definition which is uploaded using a XSD file. The XSD file was supplied by a third party which is having very high complex strucuture and used lot of abstract data types in the design. When i tried to generate the proxy in the R/3 system (Transaction SPROXY) for the inbound interface i am getting following error.
    Interface uses external and internal message definitions
    Message no. SPRX122 *
    Diagnosis
    In a message interface you can use messages from different sources:
    Message types and fault message types edited in the Enterprise Services Repository
    Messages imported into the Enterprise Services Repository (external definitions, RFC, IDoc)
    In the current message interface, message types from different sources have been used. Since messages from these different sources must be handled differently during proxy generation, such a mixture of messages within a message interface is not possible.
    System Response
    The interface cannot be generated.
    Procedure
    Change the interface definition accordingly in the Enterprise Services Repository.
    Please guide me, how to generate the proxy for the interface with external defination message. I could nt geneate manullay, because it is having very high complexity and its a big structure.
    Is there is any way to generate the proxy for interface with external definition
    Regards
    Vijayanand

    Hi,
    i.       Import your message schemas from external definitions, or RFCs or IDocs from SAP systems. These definitions already contain data types.
    ii.       Create a message interface and reference the messages of the external definition, or the RFC or IDoc message.
    Check this, it may help you

  • A serious issue with excel file read in ODI

    hi gurus,
    Issue with excel file read is that we can read only one file by setting the path from ODBC Data Source Administrator-->System DNS -->Select Work book
    what i want to read the dynamic path(Every time I cant go back and set the Work book to select the excel file..
    So i came up with a solution to write a Vbscript that convert the excel to csv my problem got solved for dynamic paths the script is as follow:
    Set objArgs = WScript.Arguments
    For I = 0 to objArgs.Count - 1
    FullName = objArgs(I)
    FileName = Left(objArgs(I), InstrRev(objArgs(I), ".") )
    Set objExcel = CreateObject("Excel.application")
    set objExcelBook = objExcel.Workbooks.Open(FullName)
    objExcel.application.visible=false
    objExcel.application.displayalerts=false
    objExcelBook.SaveAs FileName & "csv",23
    objExcel.Application.Quit
    objExcel.Quit
    Set objExcel = Nothing
    set objExcelBook = Nothing
    Next
    Now this script convert the xls file to csv with comma seprated values
    e.g in excel sheet if data is ABC XYZ PQR
    csv will come with ABC,XYZ,PQR
    here the delimiter is , i want the delimiter as pipe | who's ascii code is 124
    but if i change 23 with 124 its not working i getting the error cannot save as...
    can anyone tell me that what should be the correct code for pipe
    so that the output is ABC|XYZ|PQR
    AS WE CAN USE THE SCRIPTS IN TOOLS

    I dont have the answer for your question but i have different approach in handling multiple Excel File.
    Step 1. Copy a sample source Excel File and Call it Final.xls .
    Step 2. Map this Final.xls to DSN and in Topology call this Final.xls
    Step 3. Do the Reversing and Map and test the Interface . Once its done.
    Step 4. Create a Package and using a http://odiexperts.com/?p=1426 get the list of all the Excel File
    Step 5 . Using this http://odiexperts.com/?p=273 create a Loop to Read the Excel File name
    Step 6 . Copy using OdiFileCopy to Final.xls and run your interface .
    Step 7. Increment the Loop and copy your next File for Final and run the interface
    Step 8 . Finally you will be able to read all the Excel File .
    Step 9 . Delete the source file [ Optional ]
    Hope this helps.

  • Chain interfaces to set file name in sender channel dynamically

    Hi,
    I have a requirement to use the Seeburger SFTP adapter to import a file from an external server to an SAP ECC system.
    The adapter must be Seeburger as the protocol has to be SFTP, not FTPS as with the File adapter.
    Although I can set a wildcard selection, I really want to poll for specific filenames with predetermined naming criteria.
    The sender SFTP communication channel doesn't provide any options to specify dynamic attributes but I wonder if I can link several interfaces together, please can you confirm if the following process would work conceptually:
    1) SAP ECC program runs and determines the fixed filename that I wish to import (e.g. file_abc123.xml).
    2) SAP ECC program calls an outbound proxy with a mapping to set the relevant parameter in dynamic configuration ('http://seeburger.com/xi' is the namepsace, 'dtSubject' is the parameter name for the filename of the SFTP adapter).  Besides mapping I think the Seeburger attribute mapper module could also be used to set this value.
    3) The outbound proxy is configured on the receiver side to call an SFTP sender channel (with a dummy/blank payload as we're only calling the interface to allow settng of the filename to take place) which links to an inbound service interface on the SAP ECC receiver side.
    I don't know whether chaining of service interfaces in this fashion (receiving interface also being a sender) is a viable approach or whether there are any alternatives.
    Thanks in advance,
    Alan

    Hi Alan,
    Are the specific file names that you are polling for going to be changing or will they be fixed?  Are each of the unique names going to be processed using the same interface?  If so then I would just create multiple SFTP sender channels that poll at different intervals but use the same mappings, etc.

    Ryan Crosby

  • Outbound interface determination in file adapter?

    In my scenario files with different schemas can be send to XI from the same directory using the file adapter (so each file has a different interface that must be mapped etc.).
    I cannot add multiple interfaces to the file adapter in sender agreement and determine the outbound interface by some condition. Interface must not be "*".
    I thought about creating multiple file adapters (all listening to the same directory) and sender agreements. Each adapter is listenig to specific file type only (e.g. *.yxz, *.abc). So before putting the files to the input directory the file extension must be changed so that only the right adapter reads the file and XI gets the right interface.
    Is there abetter way to do this???

  • "Performance" problems with the File adapter on Plain J2SE Adapter Engine

    Hi,
    At the moment I'm on a customer side to solve some XI issues for a few days. One of the issues is the performance of the Plain J2SE Adapter Engine, using the file adapter to transfer XML messages(already XI message format) from the legacy system to the Integration Engine. The File adapter has to deal with "large" XML messages(max at the moment is 65 Mb) and the engine fails with the following error when transferring the big XML file: "ERROR: Finished sending to Integration Engine with error "java.lang.OutOfMemoryError". Skip confirmation and quit this loop".
    As far I got the information from the customer the memory use of the Plain adapter engine is set to 512Mb. This is maybe to low. But I don't know where to look for this, I only have the adapter web interface in front of me, no access to the OS it self via for example remote connection.
    On the Integration Engine I know there is the ability to split large message with the file adapter(File Content Conversion), but I don't know this for the Plain Adapter Engine. Is there a possibility to do this also on the Plain Adapter Engine?
    Thanks in advance for any input.
    Greetings,
    Patrick

    Hi Sameer,
    Thanks for your answers.
    On the first solution, yes that is possible, we first decided to see if the legacy system can do the splitting, before starting developing a Java program.
    On the second solution, as far as I know is this solution possible on the Integration Engine. But we are facing the problems on the Plain J2SE Adapter Engine. I went trough that documentation(link:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/6f/246b3de666930fe10000000a114084/frameset.htm ), to look for I similiar solution in the Plain Adapter Engine. So my question is, is this possible with the Plain Adapter? And if so, what kind of parameters I need to use to achieve this.
    Regards,
    Patrick

  • XI interface with third party using Java API

    Hi All,
    We have the following requirement:
    XI needs to interface with an external third party system which has JAVA API capabilities and the corresponding JAR files available to us.
    I have seen a few threads where it was mentioned that we could call the Java methods directly in User Defined functions:
    Process Integration (PI) & SOA Middleware
    My question: Is this approach feasible in our scenario? Also I guess we do not need to configure any adapter for this Java Method call within the UDF.
    Your help will be greatly appreciated and rewarded.
    Regards,
    Jai.

    Thanks Stefan.
    Our requirement has slightly changed. We have installed a thirdparty application on XI Server (within our network , inside filrewall). The application with Java API Jar file. All it does is a Lookup and retruns a value.
    We are planning to import the Jar file into imported Archives and call the method within a UDF.
    Is this feasible? I am going to give it a try.
    Your expert comments are greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Jai

  • Interface with Banks Related to APP

    Hi,
    Create Interface with Banks. Have Approval's in place before sending information to Banks. Once Cheque information is received by Bank again Approval process will be their. Once Approved the information should flow back to SAP with Cheque Number and with Other Details.
    Please help me out in solving this issue.....
    Best Regards,
    Bilal

    Hello,
    First you have to get the requirements from bank like which format can they send the EBS file (EG: MT940), how frequently etc. Do you use any middle ware like PI? If yes, Bank can end file to PI and PI can send to SAP. t-code FF.5/FF_5 can be used to upload bank statements.
    In SPRO, you have to configure EBS setup with all external transaction types bank is sending. This is not a one liner to explain complete EBS setup. Kindly search in forum to know step by step process of EBS configuration or Read SPRO documentation for EBS.
    Thanks,
