Internal Error: How To re-install XCode on Lion

Hi,
After having upgraded from Mac OS X Snow Leopard to Lion I downloaded XCode 4.0 (it took a while..) and run the installer.
Unfortunately XCode crashes right after the startup without showing any XCode typical splash screen or so, just the error message window
saying "Internal Error: Xcode encountered an internal error ..."
I found some hint on the net saying that I should remove the installation using the command "sudo /Developer/Library/uninstall-devtools --mode=all"
After having ran this I tried to download XCode again from the MacAppStore, but the button still sayed "Installed" and did not let me download Xcode
again. I used Spotlight to search for Xcode and found the "Install Xcode" application in the application folder. I moved it to the desktop. Did not work.
I moved it to some other hard disk. Did not work. Only when I unmounted the extra hard disk, the MacAppStore let me "install" the application.
I entered my name and password and pressed the "Install" button. But nothing happened (the first time the XCode icon jumped into my dock and I could see some progress in the download (after a while..))
So what is the problem now again? The MacAppStore also suggests me (still) an XCode upgrade, although I have run the above command. So I guess there is still some reference to XCode around... Who can help?
Thanks for any advice!
Christoph

• Check /Library/Receipts/ to see if there is an Xcode Receipt - if so, move it to the desktop and then hit the store again.
• In the Applications directory (or LaunchPad?) is there an icon named 'Install Xcode' ?
Good luck in any case.

    Hi,
Because the error code 2337 is a common error which occurs during an installation process, you should give us more information. Please try to collect the VS installation log by using the tool in the link below:
    http://aka.ms/vscollect
After using it, you will find vslogs.cab from %temp% folder. Please upload the file to
https://onedrive.live.com/ and share the link in the forum.
And there is an article about  how to fix Windows Internal Error 2337 may help you:

  • How do I install  Xcode on a MacBook Pro running 10.7.9 (Lion?)

I am a retired chap trying to help my grandson get into robotics. He wants to be able to write code to control an Arduino which in turn will control a number of solenoids. I used to design and build hardware and write control software (using Delphi O.O.) for space research equipment. I have  MacBook Pro running   OS X 10.7.9 and have access to an iMAC running OS X 10.6.8
We want to use C++ (unless anyone can tell us why this might be a bad move) and I have been told I need to install XCode. I looked into it and as far as I can glean, I have to install XCode 4 to be compatible with my MacBook. I downloaded XCode 4.6.2 and ended up with two files, namely :
    xcode4620419895a.dmg
    xcode4620419895a.dmg.part
and now I am stuck. Firstly, was that the correct version to download? If it is, how do I actually install the development environment from those two files? If I try to execute the disk image it tells me it is unrecognisable. If I try to execute the *.part document it asks me what application I should open it with. Any help/advice will be much appreciated

Sorry it took me a while to come back. Anyway, I cleared out the old Xcode files and went into the Developers Download area and selected to download 4.6.3 and was presented with this window
I clicked on Savefile and it downloaded. I was intrigued as to why this would work as it was exactly what I had done before. Out of interest I decided to issue the download again and this time it created a zero byte disk image and a "part" file of 1.6mB. I shall just have to put that behind me (accepting that I don't understand why one download should work and all the precious attempts should fail) and move on.
Thank you for your help (it was my eyesight that caused me to think my OS version was 10.7.9 - it is indeed 10.7.5)

  • Internal Error 2755.110 on installing Nokia_PC_Sui...

Hi - Fighting PC Suite (again) any help appreciated:
Downloaded new PC suite version and ran installer.
Installer hung at point where it was removing earlier version.
Tried repair of earlier version - failed to run correctly.
Tried to uninstall earlier version - seemed to uninstall OK.
Tried to install new version (6.81.13) again (after downloading again)- just as the first progress indication window appears, I also get a message "The system cannot open the device or file specified". Cancelling this then gives the "Internal Error 2755.110..." error.
Upshot - no version installed now.
Same error occurs if I try and re-install the earlier version.
Ran PC Suite cleaner repeatedly, with options:
PROBLEM SELECTED: I receive an error message
    PROBLEM SELECTED: Problem during uninstallation
    PROBLEM SELECTED: Other problem
    Rebooting as necessary.
    Still have the same problem.
    Win XP
    Upgrading from 6.80.22 to 6.81.13
    Thanks
    Andrew

    Hi Manta
    Thanks for this.
The suggestion I found on googling was to run Disk Cleanup Ute, but unsurprisingly this didn't work as I had no problems with disk space. However, I also saw some comments also about folder access rights (as well as comment above) and eventually thought to turn of the encryption I have on the folder I dowloaded s/w into - it seems this is the problem.
However, PCSuite is the first downloaded s/w install which has had this problem....

  • Problems installing XCode on Lion

    Hello,
I am trying to install XCode on my computer. I downloaded it off the App Store and just ran the application straight from Applications. When I double click on the application it says I must install the Mobile Device Framework through the downloader before I can proceed. When I try this, the program says installation failed and this is in my installation log:
Before this I have been entering some commands in the terminal and installed some stuff following this tutorial, don't know if that is what is interfering with the installation.

    @khiros
In case you're still having this issue, I had the same problem this morning and here's how I resolved it:
Go to /Applications/ and right click on 'Xcode' and then select 'Show Package Contents' from the popup menu - this will show you the contents of the Xcode.app bundle.
Then go inside Contents and Resources and then Packages (so, your file path should now be /Applications/XCode.app/Contents/Resources/Packages/) and then double click on the 'MobileDevice.pkg' installer file.
If you're having the same problem that I've had you should get a message warning you that the installer's certificate has expired. You should be able to give permission to run it anyway and have the installer proceed. Once the installation of that package is complete you should be able to run Xcode again and see it all working.
Alternatively, try to advice above to update Xcode in the Mac App Store - I didn't see that advice until I'd figured out how to do it my way so I don't know if that will work in this particular case or not.
All the best and good luck!

how do I install the os X Lion chip for my iMac9,1..or where?

  • How can I install osx mountain lion on one specific account on my laptop?

You see, in our laptop, we have 2 accounts. My account and my sister's. I really want to install mountain lion on my computer on the laptop but my sister doesnt want that on her account. How can I install mountain lion on my account only?

    You can't.
Mountain Lion is the operating system of the computer - it isn't in the accounts, the accounts are in it.
The only way to achieve something like what you describe would be to parition the computer into two seperate drives and install a different operating system on each partition.  That would also mean that changing accounts would require rebooting the computer and changing the startup partition / operating system / account.  Which is unlikely to be what you want.
I think you and sister need to come to an agreement about which OS to use, be it ML or something earlier.  What are her reasons for not wanting to switch?  Perhaps you can convince her.

You might have to reload the update, in which you can hold down the lock button and home button for 10 secs, then let the lock button go, while still holding the home button and it will say it is in restore mode in itunes.  just make sure the phone is plugged into your computer while doing the process.

  • How do I install just the Lion installer via the lion recovery partition.

I am trying to bootcamp windows 7 on my new macbook pro (early 2011), the installation was successfull but i am missing drivers on the windows side and cannot access the internet until i install them.  I installed all the bootcamp updates and put them on a usb to transfer to windows partition but windows kept telling me i need an earlier version of bootcamp which is not available from the update support downloads section of the apple website.
After some research i realized i needed the mac boot disc for lion, which doesnt exist so i need to create my own.  I was told i could install lion from the lion recovery partition.
here is my question....If i install lion onto my mac partition that currently has lion, can i stop the download after the initial 4 gb installer and not go through with the full re-installation of lion?  so that i can then take the installesd.dmg (i think thats right) file and put it on a dvd to install from the windows partition and finally get the drivers i need to get it running.
Comment: based on what i have read on how you used to bootcamp a mac, apple has made it very difficult, unneccesarily difficult it seems.

Before you do anything else, I suggest a thorough read of this:
