Internal error. No esid found.

Question

Hello All,
We have a BI 7.01 (ABAP+JAVA) and a separate 7.01 Portal (Java). On BI we have several queries. When we create an Iview in the portal that points to one of these queries, we get the following error:
500 Internal Server Error
Failed to process request; contact your system administrator
The initial exception that caused the request to fail was:
Error: Internal error. No esid found.
When we do a refresh in the error window, the query results are shown as they should be (no further errors occur).
What's going on here and how do we solve this?

Hi Wilbert,
Firstly - check that the communication configuration is correct in your system. You can check this using the Support Desk Tool in SAP Note 937697. If you find any RED errors mentioned in the resulting report, these need to be corrected.
If the problem still occurs, check out the following SAP Note and see if the solution given there helps.
    Note: 1166422 - Error: Internal error. No esid found
In the portal,                                         
   - path Content Administration -> Portal Content         
   - expand tree Portal Content -> Content Provided by SAP-> Platform Add-Ons -> Business Intelligence -> iViews      
In here you should NOT have any 'BEX launcher' entries. You should ONLY have  'BEX Web' entries.
