INTERNAL_POWER_ERROR and VIDEO_TDR_FALIURE BSODs on Windows 10

Hi there, I upgraded to Windows 10 4 days ago and ever since I am trying to fix this issue. The thing is that at first I could not open Catalyst Control Center as it would result into an INTERNAL_POWER_ERROR BSOD. I found a way to fix that (but not permanently). If I manually update my AMD drivers every time after I reboot, I am able to use my AMD Radeon HD8750M but a reboot or putting the laptop in sleep mode will cause the same BSOD over and over again. Sometimes when I try to hibernate the laptop I get a different BSOD of VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE which is cause by the Intel HD4600 driver. So my question is, what is going on with both drivers. I tried analyzing the crash dumps and they really are causing the issues. Did anyone find any permanent fix for that? For now I have tried installing the official AMD drivers, the drivers from the HP page and nothing works. Basically now I can only work straight away with my laptop but I cannot use hibernation and everytime I shut down I have to "fix it" again and again.  For 4 days I was trying to find a solution on my own but I guess I cannot so now I decided to ask here. Thanks in advance!

Hi @vignesh310 ,
Thank you for your query, I will try my best to help!
I see you are getting this error " VIDEO_TDR_FALIURE (igdkmd64.sys)"  This can be caused by out of date drivers.
You stated that if you uninstall the display driver then it works.
Have you ran the  HP Support Assistant to aid with HP updates?
Here is a link to the recommended drivers for your system. HP Pavilion g6-2005tx Notebook PC Drivers
Please verify that you have the latest drives installed.
Here is a link to Computer Does not Start (Windows 7, Vista, XP) that may also help.
If you think it may be a hardware failure here is a link to assist you with the testing.

  • Lenovo G510 BSOD on Windows 7 after installing RST Driver

    Hello,
    I was hoping to figure this out without having to post but unfortunately I cannot seem to get around the problem. I purchased my laptop (Lenovo G510) last month and immediately upgraded to a SSD and then downgraded to Windows 7. There have been no problems until I was installing the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver (Link to Driver).
    After installing the driver and rebooting I get the BSOD at the main Windows login screen in any of the boot modes (Regular, Safe, Safe with Network, and Safe with Command). The error dump shows that the issue is linked to itaStorF.sys. Normally I would not need this driver installed and I would just use the Windows generic driver but I have decided to replace the ODD with a HDD Caddy with the 1TB HDD that came with the laptop.
    I have seen others say that they have used a HDD Caddy with no issues but I get the BSOD error with this driver even before I installed the Caddy. I can install a more up to date driver from Intel but they eject the HDD Caddy when it is detected and they are meant for Windows 8.
    I can provide more information if needed as well as error logs. I would greatly appreciate the help from the community! Thanks!
    Quick Computer Info:
    OS: Windows 7 Professional
    SSD: Crucial M550
    HDD: Western Digital WD10JPCX
    HDDCaddy: Link to Caddy page
    Edit:
    For some additional information, I have done each of the lenovo diagnostic tests, check disks, and memory tests which all came back as healthy.

    The issue seem unrelated to the Instant Client. (Looks like you installed from the "full" Database Client product.)
    Anyway, is that Windows 7 64-bit? Then, possibly, the software you installed was 32-bit and the driver shows up in the 32-bit MS ODBC admin tool (in wow64 subsystem, for 32-bit apps).

  • BSOD in Windows XP after connecting a USB hard drive

    Hi everyone!
    I have a mid 2009 iMac i5. After plugging in an external hard drive I get a BSOD in Windows XP SP3.
    I first installed Win XP using Bootcamp and later on I also installed Parallels 6.0
    to avoid rebooting in order to get to Win XP. Windows running on Parallels displays BSOD as well
    when a hard drive is plugged in.
    Everything works fine under Mac OS X (latest version available).
    Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
    Lukasz

    Fingers crossed we might be able to track down the cause of the problem by interrogating minidumps of the blue screens with Windows debugging tools.
    So first we'd better check to see if your PC has been collecting minidumps of the crash.
    Open My Computer, and see if you can find a directory called C:\Windows\Minidump. (That's where minidumps usually go on a PC, so long as the Systemroot hasn't been set to some other folder.)
    If it's been collecting minidumps, there should be files in there with names like "Mini(number-numbers).dmp" or just "(numbers-numbers).dmp".
    (If you have "Hide filename extensions for known file types" enabled on the PC, the ".dmp" extension may not appear on the dump files. The numbers in the file name will be different for each minidump, if minidumps are present.)
    Are there any minidumps about on the PC? If so, we'll go digging in them.
    1. Download and install the Windows debugging tools from here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/devtools/debugging/installx86.mspx
    2. Go "Start > All Programs > Debugging Tools For Windows > Windbg". Once you open Windbg, you will presented with a blank screen.
    3. Click on "File > Symbol File Path". Here you will enter the symbols path. Symbols are needed to effectively debug.The path will be:
    SRV*c:\symbols*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols
    4. Enter in this path and click OK. Now, go to "File > Save Workspace" so that your symbols path is saved for future use.
    5. Go to "File > Open Crash Dump" and load the file.
    (An "Open Crash Dump" screen will appear ... doubleclick "My Computer", doubleclick "Local Disk", doubleclick "Windows", doubleclick "Minidump", and doubleclick on one of the minidumps in there that was generated at the same time as the Classic was plugged in.)
    You will/should get a message to save base workspace information. Choose no.
    Now you will get a debugging screen. It takes a little bit to run it, as the symbols have to be downloaded as they are needed.
    After the "bugcheck analysis" part of the screen comes up, look for the component that seems to be causing the crash. (It'll say "Probably caused by" ...)
    Let us know the precise name of the component. (Include any file name extensions like .dll or .sys.)
    If you can, have a look at several of your crash dumps generated by USB-pluggings-in. Are all the crashes being caused by the same component? If not, could you let us know the names of the various components being cited in the various crash dumps?

    Session "Microsoft Security Essentials OOBE" stopped due to the following error: 0xC000000D    using win 7 64bit over and over BSOD
    My event viewer has been coughing the error line above. It has lead to the feeling of a Carotid Artery leak of memory where my whole
    system slowly stops working till BSOD. Windows Explorer just stops working then Death.
    I HAVE HAD THIS HAPPEN MORE AND MORE, AND IT APPEARS TO BE A PROGRAM PROBLEM, ANYBODY ELSE HAVE THIS.
    IT HAS COST ME 2 DAYS WORK NOW.

    Hi,
    When does the issue begin to occur?
    Since Windows system uses separated user mode and kernel mode memory space, stop errors are usually caused by kernel portion components, such as a hardware device,
    third-party drivers, backup software or anti-virus services (buggy services).
    Please refer to the following steps to troubleshoot the issue.
    1. Boot the computer in
    Clean Boot for a test.
    2. Temporarily disable all unnecessary hardware devices in Device Manager, such as Modem, sound card or external device.
    For detail steps, we can refer to the link below:
    Device Clean Boot
    3. Upgrade the virus definition, run antivirus program and perform a full scanning.
    If the issue persists, please upload the minidump file (%systemroot%\minidump) to SkyDrive (
    www.skydrive.live.com ), then share the link to me. I will be glad to assist you to analysis the data.
    Thanks,
    Novak

  • VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL and NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM BSODs

    Hello!
    I've been getting intermittent BSODs and I was hoping someone could help me identify why. I just recently ran Memtest86+ on each of my RAM modules (separately), both showed no errors on multiple passes. (I would hope so, since I just bought these sticks
    a few weeks ago).
    Recently, I've gotten VIDEO_MEMORY_MANAGEMENT_INTERNAL and NTFS_FILE_SYSTEM BSODs. Here is my MEMORY.dmp and two most recent minidump files:
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5772230/bsod2/MEMORYDMP_minidumps.zip
    And a screenshot of more of my previous crashes (via WhoCrashed):
    https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/5772230/bsod2/whocrashed.png
    Just a note, but I fixed the SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION crash by uninstalling a bad third-party driver (thread found here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windows/en-US/8d8f7cff-596b-4048-ba89-8ad0354b261c/systemserviceexception-bsod-after-waking-up-from-sleep?forum=w7itproperf)
    Let me know what I could do to aid the troubleshooting process. Thanks!

  • BSOD on Windows 7 bootup

    I installed Windows 7 x64 via bootcamp a few months ago and it ran fine back then. But today when I booted into it again I got the BSOD seconds after the desktop finished loading. I removed the bootcamp partition using boot camp assistant and gone through the whole process again. I tried both the 32 bit and the 64 bit version. They all crash and get BSOD.
    Heres the log file I got by pressing F8 during startup and selecting "enable boot logging":

    My 2008 MBP-17 would always BSOD if the 802.11 NIC was active, but that was not so early in the bootup process as you described here, and without actually getting into Windows there's no way I know of to disable it (no BIOS Setup Utility).
    It sounds like you may have a memory issue, assuming the cards are not outright defective, you could try reseating them or clean the contacts by rubbing them lightly with some alcohol and pencil eraser. More than once I've seen a simple reseat of the memory fix a stubborn PC problem.
    You could also visit the genius bar if there's one near you, they have some advanced diagnostic tools they can run. I took mine there for a repair and they replaced the motherboard and the RAM even though they were not what I brought it in for, under an active Apple-Care contract of course.

    My ipod nano is no longer recognized by itunes after I installed windows 8.1.  The ipod nano still is recognized and works with a Windows 7 computer

    Hello, Pete.
    Here is an article I would recommend going through when an iPod is not recognized by iTunes or the computer.
    iPod not recognized in My Computer and in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1369
    Usually the resolution is updating the Apple Mobile Device Driver.  See the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver.
    iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

  • Reinstall windows 7 and then back to windows 8

    Hi would like to reinstall windows 7 for the programs I missed.
    What happen to me was I installed files for windows 7 not 8 and a720 crashed and when I installed windows 8 again some things were gone that I wanted to keep. The f2 key will not work after you install windows 8 and that fine.
    I have windows 8 working fine now but what I want is to be able to reinstall back to factory and then upgrade to windows 8 again I understand this is what I need from your parts 51-29051 and would like to get this sent to me.
    I still have the oem partition with the ork files but don't know how to use them at this time.
    My thoughts are I should be able to set my a720 i5 back to the factory settings like how I bought it.
    I never thought I would not be able to use onekey for this to happen.
    Hope you can help after this I will call Lenovo and see what they can do.

    What programs are you missing from W7 installation? If the preinstalled Lenovo software then it's not compatible with W8 anyway.

    You can try using this tool to first remove all traces of Reader from your computer:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
    Then, you can download the full offline Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
    After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else.

  • Open and Close Pop-up Window??

    Hi,
    I have to components consiider A and B.
    I want to open window B as pop-up window when I click a button on window A.
    After that again I have to close that pop-up window(i.e. B) and return back to window A.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Rahul

    Hi Rahul,
    In the onAction event of the button for component A you could use the following code :
    IWDWindow window = wdComponentAPI.getWindowManager().createModalWindow(wdComponentAPI.getComponentInfo().findInWindows("Window B"));
    window.setWindowPosition(270,120);
    ((Window)window).setTitle("My Window");
    window.open();
    wdContext.currentPopUpElement().setWindowInstance(window);
    In the onAction button event for component B to close the window you could use the following code :
    IWDWindow window = wdContext.currentPopUpElement().getWindowInstance();
    window.destroy();
    You could create a Value Node named Popup which contains a VA WindowInstance of type IWDWindow and define the context mapping.
    Hope this helps.

  • HTML-DB OAE Javascript to close current window and open a new window

    Hi everybody,
    We work with 1.6.
    What we want is to close the current window and open a new window with the URL mentionned in the window.open('http://www.cf.qc/pls/portal/PORTAL.....,'newwindow').
    The new window opening fires only once although we call it many times.
    Our javascript is:
    function closeTest()
    { alert('closeTest');
    if('&REQUEST.'=='QUITTER2'){
    w = window.self;
    w.opener = w;
    w.close();
    window.open('http://www.cf.qc/pls/portal/PORTAL.home','newwindow','toolbar=yes,location=yes,directories=yes,status=yes,menubar=yes,scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes');
    We call it on our application attributes :
    OnLoad="closeTest()"
    Thanks. Bye.

    Try this on for size:
    I have included two functions.
    windowRebuild() - opens a new window, maximizes it based on the screen size, removes all toolbars, and then closes the old window.
    myLocation(appName, pageName) - builds a url referencing an HTMLDB application, specfic to what server you are currently on. Very useful when you have an application on 3 different servers(dev, test, prod servers), you wouldn't want the server name hardcoded if you plan to export the app to another server.
    Also, you need to be careful when using &APP_ID. I am not completely certain how that is resolved at runtime, but I've found it only works when the javascript is in the HTML Header of a page and not stored in the template of the page.
    <script language="JavaScript1.1" type="text/javascript">
      This functions is for internal application use.
      Examples of myLocation:
      url = myLocation('&APP_ID.', 'APP_PUBLIC_PAGE');
      url = myLocation('MY_APP_ALIAS', 'MY_PAGE_ALIAS');
      url = myLocation('184', '10');
    function myLocation(myApp, myPage){
      var myHost = location.host;
      var newURL;
      newURL = 'http://'+myHost+'/pls/htmldb/f?p='+myApp.toString()+':'+myPage.toString();
      return newURL;
    /*  Function windowRebuild()
    *   This function will open a new window and close the old window.
    *   This function will also maximize the new window and remove all toolbars.
    function windowRebuild(){
       if(window.name != 'myAppWin'){
        var url = myLocation('&APP_ID.', 'PAGE_ALIAS');
        var myWin = window.open(url,'myAppWin','toolbar=0,scrollbars=1,menubar=0,status=1,resizable=1,location=0');
        window.opener = 'x';
        window.close();
       if(window.name == 'myAppWin'){
        window.moveTo(0,0);
        window.resizeTo(screen.availWidth,screen.availHeight);
    </script>Let me know if that works or you need some more explanation.

  • Video Format Total Solution: How to Convert and Edit Video on Windows/Mac

    More and More video formats are coming out with different video encoders and it makes our spare time more and more colorful. However, it is not to say that there is no problems. Actually, different video formats make it difficult to share video with others, even your own camcorder and iPod. Is there an easy way to convert videos effectively. Yes, there is.
    In this article, I will show you guys how to convert videos on windows and mac.
    Part 1. How to Convert and Edit Videos on Windows
    For Windows users, you need a Video Converter(http://www.aiseesoft.com/total-video-converter.html) to do that for you.
    Here I use Aiseesoft Total Video Converter(http://www.aiseesoft.com/total-video-converter.html)
    Step 1: Download and install Aiseesoft Total Video Converter
    After you download it to your computer, double click it and it is really easy to install.
    You just need to click “next” and it will complete it in seconds. It will automatically run after installation.
    http://www.aiseesoft.com/images/guide/total-video-converter/screen.jpg
    Step 2: Load Video
    Click “Add File” to find the video that you want to convert and click “open”. It will be loaded automatically.
    Step 3: Select the target to decode
    In the “Profile” drop download list you can find your target according the usage of your output video, such as if you want to put the video on your iPod touch, you can select the “iPod” in the first list and “iPod touch 2 MPEG-4 640*480(*.mp4)” in the second list.
    Step 4: Set Advanced Parameters
    After you select the right output profile, you can click “setting” button to set your advanced parameters. You can adjust video and audio settings separately. In video section, you can change “video encoder”, “resolution”, “frame rate”, “video bitrate”In audio section, you can change “audio encoder”, “sample rate”, “channel”, “audio bitrate”If you want to save this profile and settings and use it next time you can click “save as” button to give a name to it. And the next time you want to use it you can find it in the profile list named “user defined”.
    Step 5: Choose a Destination
    To browse and find a output folder for your output files or just the default one.
    Finally, Click “Convert” button to begin your conversion, here in the converting
    interface you can choose “shut down the computer when conversion complete” or “open output folder when conversion complete” or you just do not choose neither one.
    Tips: How to Edit the Output Video
    This video converter is also a video editor, you can use it to edit your output video as follows:
    http://www.aiseesoft.com/images/guide/total-video-converter/effect.jpg
    1. Effect:
    You are allowed to adjust the “Brightness”, “Contrast”, “Saturation” and you can choose the “deinterlacing” to make the video more enjoyable.
    2. Trim:
    In “Trim” section you can pick up any part of the video to convert.
    There are two ways to select the part of the video you want. One is set the start and end time in the box. The other one is to drag the start and end button in the processing bar.
    3. Crop:
    This function allows you to choose a certain play area to convert. That means you can choose a part of the screen you like to convert. For example, you just like the tv in the middle of the screen, then you can drag the frame around the preview window to select the tv and the output preview will show you the output video.In this section you can also choose the “zoom mode”, such as “keep original”, “full screen”, “16:9”, “4:3”.
    4. Watermark
    In the section, you can add a watermark on the output video to show people something, such as your name, website, studio name or other things. The watermark could be words and picture. You can adjust the transparent of the watermark easily to make it more beautiful.
    Part 2. How to Convert Video on Mac
    This time you need a Video Converter for Mac(http://www.aiseesoft.com/video-converter-for-mac.html)
    Step 1: Add File
    Click “Add File” button to load the video you want to converter
    http://www.aiseesoft.com/images/guide/mac-video-converter/steps.jpg

    Just installed Firefox 3.6. Firefox will not start and Firefox safemode does not start either. Using Task manager I do not see if started either. If I create a new profile and start from that window, Firefox starts up. I see no error windows/messages. I do have it listed in my Firewall as an exception program with Permit All. What is happening?
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened

    after upgrading to mountain lion i keep getting an error message saying my startup disc is full. it shouldnt be full because there is barely anything on there and i was running windows with bootcamp prior to this with no issues. my computer now freezes and programs close randomly. The usual command for opening windows with bootcamp doesnt work. once in restarted my computer after it froze and it rebooted in windows automatically. i really just want to know if there is a way to take the upgrade off my laptop because it is very annoying.

    Hi Memalyn
    Essentially, the bare issue is that you have a 500GB hard drive with only 10GB free. That is not sufficient to run the system properly. The two options you have are to move/remove files to another location, or to install a larger hard drive (eg 2TB). Drive space has nothing to do with SMC firmware, and usually large media files are to blame.
    My first recommendation is this: download and run the free OmniDiskSweeper. This will identify the exact size of all your folders - you can drill down into the subfolders and figure out where your largest culprits are. For example, you might find that your Pictures folder contains both an iPhoto Library and copies that you've brought in from a camera but are outside the iPhoto Library structure. Or perhaps you have a lot of purchased video content in iTunes.
    If you find files that you KNOW you do not need, you can delete them. Don't delete them just because you have a backup, since if the backup fails, you will lose all your copies.
    Don't worry about "cleaners" for now - they don't save much space and can actually cause problems. Deal with the large file situation first and see how you get on.
    Let us know what you find out, and if you manage to get your space back.
    Matt
