Internal server error during portal page invocation

I have a problem whereby my portal crashes while I was navighating the page. Looking at some of the discussion threads, I reaslized that my jserv was no more running after the crash. ( I checked this using the Enterprise Manager Website). My question is, how do I start the jserv because the jserv system component is disabled which prevents me from selecting the jserv component and hitting the 'start' or 'restart' button.
BEsides that I also realized that PPE is also down and seems like there's no way I can start it from the ENterprise Manager Website. Help.... how can I rectify this problem???

hi,
Try starting your HttpServer (Apache). That'll automatically restart your JServ.

    Get ‘500 Internal Server Error’ during SIP INVITE - cause 44
    Have you ever seen anything like this before?  It usually works, but intermittently, we see calls get rejected.  It somehow seems related to high loads on the router.  We reduced the occurrences by changing our code to throttle the number of SIP INVITEs we send, but this doesn’t scale well.  Once it occurs, the only way to clean it up is to do a shut/no shut on the voice-port associated to SIP INVITE.
    Any suggestions on how we can proceed to debug this issue?

    Since it appears you are a Cisco Employee, my recommendation is that you use the many internal resource available to you (including, but not limited to) , like TAC access, internal forums, team leaders, etc.
    This not to give the casual reader, the impression that the best source of support at Cisco is a customer's public forum.

  • Encountered IE500 Internal Server Error during rpt generation within a rpt

    Hi,
    I encountered an IE 500 Internal Server Error during the second report generation within a report. The report that was not generated came from another crystal report.
    To clearly illustrate my problem, here is the scenario:  Our application has a reporting module. From the reporting module, the graph reports(e.g bar graph) are generated. The generated graph report also includes the values which was represented in the graph. These values are clickable. When clicking these values, another report will be generated aside from the graph report. The second report will contain the details of the values in the graph report. The first report(graph report) was successfully generated however, the second report(detail report) was not. Instead, the IE 500 Internal Server Error was encountered.
    This scenario works completely using the application with this setup:Crystal XI in Win XP having IIS 5.1 but when tried using the application in this setup: Crystal XI in Win 7 having IIS 7, the error mentioned above was encountered.
    Additional Info: The second report was generated by using the HTML property of the formula field. A url was assigned to the formula field HTML attribute and included in the url is the session id and the report parameters.
    Thanks

    I guess to start with the obvious, IE 500 Internal Server Error resolves to Permission denied: 'GetObject'.
    Before chasing that error, what version of CR and .NET are you using?
    Once we determine that you are using a version of CR that is actually supported on the OS, we can move on to [Process Monitor|http://technet.microsoft.com/en-ca/sysinternals/bb896645.aspx] to see if it tell us something - look for "Access Denied" messages.

  • 500 Internal Server Error in Portal

    Hi,
    I get an error when I try to open a saved report with Complex calculations in it, it is named Complex formula report in my favorites.
    When i run the URL the error which i am getting is:
    500 Internal Server Error
    >>>>> BEx Web Application Failed to process request; contact your system administrator
    But it runs fine in the portal.
    Thanks,
    Mani A

    Hi,
    Check the port number used in the URL! Normally when the report executed thro' the Portal, system uses the load balancing (if configured) and determines the App server automatically but while executing the report thro' URL it has 2 options. One is using the port which is load balanced and other option is by using port directly referring to App. server.
    Hope this helps.
    Cheers

  • Facing Problem in SLD(getting 500 INTERNAL SERVER ERROR IN PORTAL)

    Dear All,
    we had ESS application just few days back it went to Go live , very frequently we are facing the issue
    Regards JCO 's , we are getting "500 Internal Server Error" in production Portal
    After getting the error ,the " Maintained JCO's" and "Created JCO'S " are both are disabled
    uder contenten administraton->webdynpro.
    But the SDL is in active , we can able to open SLD url every thing is also fine
    Technical system and every thing coming fine
    we checked SLD User also in SLD User Administration , the SLD user is also there it is not unlocked
    The problem is : if the problem is happend after restarting the server again it is coming properly
    Again after some time it is getting same error ,whith out doing any thing also some times the problem is resolving automatically
    we are not getting Root cause of this behaviour
    In our client side SLD is centralized ,they are not maintain locally
    If the SLD is Proble , the error has to come in Quality and Production also why bcz it is centralized
    But Some times 500 ERROR IN Prodution and some times in Quality.
    And some times the Portal is very slowly opening especially ESS application ,after restart happening it is some better
    again it is getting down after some time
    If it is NETWORK Iuuse or any firewall ect...in which way we can can with them and where
    Guru's share your knowledge it's a very critical for me what are he possible ways...
    Regards,
    Giri

  • HTTP 500 internal server error with jsf pages in OC4J 10.1.2

    Hi all. I am trying to use the Sun RI o fJSF1.1 together with a standalone OC4J 10.1.2. My jsf pages are not being displayed. Any clues.

    Hi ,
      Please answer my following questiosn.
    1)  which PI version are you using?
    2) How many J2EE nodes you have.
    please be reminded that SOAP is not for the heavy messages. Then you need to increase your timeout parameters from BASIS.

  • (500) Internal Server Error during "Link Azure Servers"

    Hi everyone,
    I am currently trying to automate release management for our cloud deployments. After creating  a new vNext Azure environment, I get an unhandled exception after I click "Link Azure Servers" button. Screenshot below:

    Hi Murat
    Does my blog post
    here help, specifically the Connect Release Management to Azure and Configure an Environment section?
    Cheers - Graham

  • New Apache sites return 500 Internal Server Error for all CFML requests

    This is an ugly one.  I think it is an Apache2 - ColdFusion 9 web server connector problem.
    I have two Solaris Unix web servers.  Each of these servers have a dozen and a half Apache web sites each one connected to one of five ColdFusion instances.
    All, but TWO of them are working properly.  We created two new Apache web sites and connected them to a new ColdFusion instance.  This worked fine on one of our boxes, the development one, but not on the other, production of course.
    Whenever we try to request a cfm url from one of these sites on the production server we get a 500 Internal Server Error.  HTML pages serve up just fine, and the new instance's Administrator runs fine on its 8305 port.  So both Apache and ColdFusion seem to be working independently, but they are not talking to each other.  All the other Apache sites connected to the other four ColdFusion instances also work properly.
    This has led me to investigate the web server connectors.  They have always been tricky and problematic to set up on these boxes.  The built in tools have never worked for us on these boxes and we have always had to manually compile the connectors and configure the connections in the web sites..
    But, as far as I can tell, all the connection setups are the same between working examples and these non-working sites.
    Any insights into what else I should be checking and|or how web server connectors actually work (they have alwasy been mysterious black boxes to me) would be greatly appreciated.
    TIA
    Ian

    Some more information.
    I took a closer look at the logs (I wasn't looking
    in the Apache logs before).  I found this block for the last attempt to
    request a cfm page.

    Hi Matt,
    Thanks for you answer.
    Yes, I agree error log is not that helpful.
    There are no errors or any log for that matter in IDM Console side, so I am guessing that error is occurring entirely in Java side.
    I am trying to reset password for ABAP and IDM UI.
    Backend is IDM UME.
    Thanks

    In which environment are you running this query? Is it Dev. system or Quality/testing or Production ?
    1.Generally in most of the cases this will be a TimeOut Error, but not necessarily just that,500 Error applies to variety of problems within the server.
    Try and restrict the query to populate less amount of data and check if you get teh same error, if so the check for latest OSS note, have a look at your SP level as well before  applying the oss note if relevant.
    2. If this doesnt solve,then  recheck the query.
    Due to large amounts of data in production the OLAP  and front -end might require more amount of time than assigned, though not recommended, you can check by changing the waiting time just for thsi query to make sure that this is the problem and not something else which requires basis assistance.

  • 500 Internal Server Error when I add struts portlet in the portal

    I'm using jDeveloper 10g and have created a sample struts app which is working fine when using the regular struts-html.tld tags and struts-bean.tld tags .I'd like to get it working using the pdk-struts-html.tld taglib though so that I can deploy it as a portlet.
    When I run the jsp page as follow:
    <%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/pdk-struts-html.tld" prefix="pdk-struts-html"%>
    <%@ taglib uri="/WEB-INF/struts-bean.tld" prefix="bean"%>
    <%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=GBK"%>
    <html>
    <head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=GBK">
    <title>untitled</title>
    </head>
    <body>
    <pdk-struts-html:errors />
    <pdk-struts-html:form action="/portal/SaveNewBlog.do">
    <bean:message key="userid.prompt"/>
    <pdk-struts-html:text property="userid" />
    <bean:message key="password.prompt"/>
    <pdk-struts-html:password property="password" />
    <pdk-struts-html:submit />
    </pdk-struts-html:form>
    </body>
    </html>
    However, there are some thing wrong with it ,I don't know how to modify it :

    Regards,
    Mahee.

    Issue is fixed, Refer sap note 1662200
    Its available  in SP for SAP PCUI_GP 633.
    The problem originates from class
    FcTeamCalendar. For some reason, the character ';' is no longer valid
    in the xml, hence, gets rejected by the Java WD runtime. The string is
    parsed against the pattern "[a-zA-Z_0-9]*". Hence, I have replaced ';'
    by '_'. The IGS colleagues have confirmed that this should be working
    fine now.
    If you have NWDS available, here are the manual steps to make this
    change:
    1. Edit class FcTeamCalendar.java.
    2. Replace "private static final String SEPARATOR = ";";" by
               "private static final String SEPARATOR = "_";"
    3. Save your changes, rebuild and deploy.
